I saw a bit of a loss today... IYeah! f I can just get to the 140's by Friday, I'll be SUPER HAPPY!

Husband is still on the west coast. I miss him terribly but on the positive side, I can eat salads or a frozen dinner for dinner (i.e. no cooking for me!).

I also managed to walk 15' on Monday and 20' yesterday. I'm planning on 30' today - woohoo! Baby steps, baby, baby steps.... :)

It is sunny here which makes a huge difference on my mood. Kids have a 1/2 day but I'm working, so we'll see what we can do for fun today.

Hope you all have a great day!

Progress as of today: 1.2 lbs lost so far, only 15.8 lbs to go!

Umpqua on 03/18/2015:
Great work on the loss and on building up stamina with your walks!

Hey DD'rists -

So, I am sad to report that I not only still in the 150's but I actually gained 0.6 pounds. And that is despite eating somewhat cleaner -- although in all honesty not quite exercising yet (I can't even blame this on "muscle mass"!). Go figure.

I did get my period today and am blaming this on it, so I'm going to keep it up and weigh myself again in 5 or so days. Ugh.

I'm loving daylight savings time, loving that it's still light outside when I'm having dinner, hoping that the snow will melt soon and that I'll start walking again outdoors soon enough. The (bad, cold) weather leaves me so unmotivated and down. I'm think I'm ready for flowers, bird, bunnies and warmth.

B: coffee; L: frozen dinner and a yogurt; S: bar and a yogurt, D: frozen dinner and a glass of wine (my husband is out of town - so no cooking for me!)

Progress as of today: -1.6 lbs lost so far, only 18.6 lbs to go!

Umpqua on 03/11/2015:
We've lost a lot of snow over the past few days and spring is definitely in the air today. TOM can definitely affect the scale so I wouldn't worry about it!

I was up to 153 pounds when I woke up this morning. I ate pretty clean today so let's see what happens tomorrow.  The weather is weighing me down (no pun) and I have no motivation to exercise with the temps being as low as they have been.

I had coffee and cream for breakfast, a tricked out salad for lunch, a yogurt for snack and a frozen dinner with chicken, green beans and a glass of wine for dinner tonight.

Tomorrow I get to go into work and am planning on bringing a yogurt, protein bar and a frozen dinner for meals. Oh and I have an interview too. Wish me luck!

Progress as of today: -1 lbs lost so far, only 18 lbs to go!

biscottibody59 on 03/03/2015:
Good Luck!

Weather s/b mind over matter I suppose, but sometimes that tactic just doesn't work! I hope you get some warmth soon!

BellaK on 03/09/2015:
Me too, can't stand the cold any longer!!

BellaK on 03/09/2015:
And thank you! :)

thinkpositive on 03/04/2015:
What is a tricked out salad?? Good luck on your interview!

BellaK on 03/09/2015:
Thank you! It's a salad with a bunch of different stuff, i.e. veggies, proteins and even some goodies in it. Like that day, I had cranberries and glazed pecans for my "goodies".

Umpqua on 03/04/2015:
The countdown to warmer temps commences NOW, haha. I hope your interview goes well!

BellaK on 03/09/2015:
Amen! Thanks, fingers crossed!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 03/06/2015:
Clean eating will definitely help you feel better :)

BellaK on 03/09/2015:
I hope so... ;)

thinnside40 on 03/11/2015:
I've been spoiled by this Winter. Not enough snow, rained a lot and into the 40 something day of sunshine and 10-15 degrees above normal. Nights are cold... Spring will bring you some necessary "umph" to get moving I hope :)

So I've been drinking way too much and put on a couple pounds. Once I start (drinking wine), I have a real hard time stopping at 1 or 2 drinks.

I've been reading that there's nothing worse for one's health and that if I have 4 drinks a night on the weekends, I will put on 15 pounds a year.

No wonder.  Ugh.

I'll weight myself again tomorrow and will post the new weight - whatever it is.

Progress as of today: 1.2 lbs lost so far, only 15.8 lbs to go!

I hope this week goes better for you. Stick with us!

Hello Diarists - so I didn't get to exercise again today... Those who have the motivation to, in this bitter cold weather, please stand up! I have to do it here at work, during lunch break or I never will.

B: coffee and nugo bar

L: salad, frozen dinner and 140 cal smoothie

D: TBD (but something healthy)

* Movement on the scale - and it's going the right way!

Progress as of today: 1.2 lbs lost so far, only 15.8 lbs to go!

Umpqua on 02/04/2015:
Great loss, congratulations! My regular outside exercise consists of snowplowing and shoveling, and that's only because it's absolutely necessary. Do you usually walk? I don't blame you for not wanting to go out in the cold.

I don't know about you guys but I did HORRIBLE this weekend. I must have had an entire week's calorie allowance on Superbowl Sunday only. I drank too much and ate way too much so now I'm dealing with the after-effects of it all.

Yesterday I had an OK day diet-wise and today's been OK so far but I feel like my body is still trying to process all the junk I ate....  Ekkkkk!

B: Coffee and Vanilla Nugo Bar

L: Frozen dinner, a small piece of chicken and beans

S: A cheese sandwich (this is the toughest time for me, I want to eat my entire house right around 3:00PM)

D: Chicken sausage, veggie, pasta

Progress as of today: 0 lbs lost so far, only 17 lbs to go!

Umpqua on 02/03/2015:
I think we must have crossed paths in the old days here, Bella. It's good to see you back and posting!

BellaK on 02/03/2015:

I overdid on Sunday, as well. But every day starts over, right? :)

OMG, has it been this long since I was here? Well, I always seem to find my way back, don't I?

Unfortunatelly, I gained so much weight over the holidays and I am up and in the 150's again (for the past couple of years I've been around 145 or so, which after having had 2 babies is incredible!).  Anyway, I'm gonna try really hard to get back on track.... Yep, again!

Breakfast:

Coffee and a NuGo Bar

Lunch:

Salad and a Smart Ones and a chicken sausage, 50 goldfish

Dinner:

Small bowl of spaghetti and 2 meat balls, lots of seltzer water

No exercise today.

Progress as of today: 0 lbs lost so far, only 17 lbs to go!

Hello Diarists!!! Gosh, I haven't posted in a loooooooooooooooooong time! I spent the holidays in South America and then upon my return to the US I was advised that I was going on a business trip to Japan and Singapore. So Ive been pretty much out of the country for the past couple months. For whatever reason, I have been able to (mostly) stay on my diet and exercise plan and to date I have lost 19 pounds!!! I have added a ton of muscle mass, I can totally see definition on my legs and arms (still need to work hard on my abs though) but for the most part, I have to say that this program has been working phenomenally for me!

Im much happier with the way I look and especially with the way I feel. I am going thru a painful divorce, which will be over in a couple of weeks, so this program and exercising regularly have kept me sane!

Off to read some of your diaries! Hope all is well!

Welcome back! It's great to hear from you! Congrats on all your weight loss...wow! You've done an excellent job!

Sorry to hear about your divorce...but I'm glad you have been able to find comfort in exercise! Some people turn to food for comfort, but it sounds like you've chosen a healthier alternative!

Keep us posted!

Sorry to hear about your divorce :( but it sounds like everything is working out for you. Your doing wonderfully and what a busy lady you are. I think of myself sitting here with the baby day in and day out and I get envious of those who travel sometimes. I just want to get to the STORE once in a while lol. And I would be happy. Way to go!! Keep it up

You give me hope! I just started a modified body-for life program and am SO glad to hear someone else has had success with it. You were 158 in November and lost so much weight already. I'm glad I chose this! Hope you keep doing good and losing!

stringbean on 03/02/2005:
Great job on your loss! I can't wait to start seeing changes in my body now. (I just re-started again!)

So sorry about your divorce- I remember your entries before your wedding. Hope it gets easier on you! Glad you've stayed OP though! That's awesome!

Okay Folks!!! As we all know, there's good pain and bad pain. Right now I am in awesome pain! Let me explain: I had 2 sessions with the PT - one on Monday (upper body plus cardio, as well as a session with the nutritionist) and one on Tuesday (lower body plus cardio). Now let me tell you something: I thought I knew how to weight-lift, but after those 2 workouts I can honestly say that I never, ever really worked out to my potential. It is incredible what a difference it is with having a person there just to monitor and ensure that you are giving your workouts your 100%. I am excited and seriously thinking about entering the 12-week Body-For-Life Challenge. I have this incredible belief in myself now, this belief that I can do anything I set my mind to!! (Though having the PT and the nutritionist makes all the difference in the world, in terms of having the proper support and guidance.)

The only issue I have in regard to entering the contest is that I will be traveling overseas for 3 weeks in December/January and it is hard to stay focused when you are not in your every day environment/routine, but I am tempted to try! What do you guys think?

I requested the informational packet for the Challenge today Ill let you know what I decide! Wont it be cool to record my struggles and progress on this Website? In a way, we will all be doing this together, dont you think? :)

PS1: On the eating front (which is what worries me the most) I am doing incredibly well. I have not cheated at all. My energy level is very low right now, and I suspect it is because I completely stopped eating sugar and my body is definitely feeling it. But everything else is right on track!!!

PS2: Thank you for you inspirational comments and even e-mails!!! Ill be checking up on your progress as well!!!

Off to the gym for some cardio and later today, after work, Ill top it off with a soccer game. Take care and I hope your day is going great!

garlic on 11/03/2004:
You must be proud of all that hard exercising that you're doing. Working out can make you feel so empowered!!!

About the sugar withdrawal ... if you can ride out the cravings and the low energy, etc., it will be worth it in the end. You give up sugar and you end up with no cravings ... ever!!!! Some people think it's not a realistic way to live but I'm just so glad to be relieved of the sugar callings. The last time I ate sugar was September 14, 2003. Trust me, it's worth it just letting it go.

Loads of luck with your challenge!! I say GO FOR IT!!!

legcramps on 11/03/2004:
Woohoo! You're on top of the world right now! Way to go! And I think that's a great idea, the Body For Life thing. It's probably just the thing you need to push-start weightloss and a healthier lifestyle. I wish you all the luck in the world, go for it!

MommaJ on 11/03/2004:
Wow!! You are doing awesome! Way to go girl! And you should definately enter the Fit for Life Challenge.....sounds like you are ready for the challenge for sure. When I read journal entries like this I really get motivated to get out there and exercise so maybe I will start doing that today....thanks! Have a super day :)

Bandmom on 11/06/2004:
