Hello Diarists!!! Gosh, I haven't posted in a loooooooooooooooooong time! I spent the holidays in South America and then upon my return to the US I was advised that I was going on a business trip to Japan and Singapore. So Ive been pretty much out of the country for the past couple months. For whatever reason, I have been able to (mostly) stay on my diet and exercise plan and to date I have lost 19 pounds!!! I have added a ton of muscle mass, I can totally see definition on my legs and arms (still need to work hard on my abs though) but for the most part, I have to say that this program has been working phenomenally for me!

Im much happier with the way I look and especially with the way I feel. I am going thru a painful divorce, which will be over in a couple of weeks, so this program and exercising regularly have kept me sane!

Off to read some of your diaries! Hope all is well!

Welcome back! It's great to hear from you! Congrats on all your weight loss...wow! You've done an excellent job!

Sorry to hear about your divorce...but I'm glad you have been able to find comfort in exercise! Some people turn to food for comfort, but it sounds like you've chosen a healthier alternative!

Keep us posted!

Sorry to hear about your divorce :( but it sounds like everything is working out for you. Your doing wonderfully and what a busy lady you are. I think of myself sitting here with the baby day in and day out and I get envious of those who travel sometimes. I just want to get to the STORE once in a while lol. And I would be happy. Way to go!! Keep it up

You give me hope! I just started a modified body-for life program and am SO glad to hear someone else has had success with it. You were 158 in November and lost so much weight already. I'm glad I chose this! Hope you keep doing good and losing!

Great job on your loss! I can't wait to start seeing changes in my body now. (I just re-started again!)

So sorry about your divorce- I remember your entries before your wedding. Hope it gets easier on you! Glad you've stayed OP though! That's awesome!

Okay Folks!!! As we all know, there's good pain and bad pain. Right now I am in awesome pain! Let me explain: I had 2 sessions with the PT - one on Monday (upper body plus cardio, as well as a session with the nutritionist) and one on Tuesday (lower body plus cardio). Now let me tell you something: I thought I knew how to weight-lift, but after those 2 workouts I can honestly say that I never, ever really worked out to my potential. It is incredible what a difference it is with having a person there just to monitor and ensure that you are giving your workouts your 100%. I am excited and seriously thinking about entering the 12-week Body-For-Life Challenge. I have this incredible belief in myself now, this belief that I can do anything I set my mind to!! (Though having the PT and the nutritionist makes all the difference in the world, in terms of having the proper support and guidance.)

The only issue I have in regard to entering the contest is that I will be traveling overseas for 3 weeks in December/January and it is hard to stay focused when you are not in your every day environment/routine, but I am tempted to try! What do you guys think?

I requested the informational packet for the Challenge today Ill let you know what I decide! Wont it be cool to record my struggles and progress on this Website? In a way, we will all be doing this together, dont you think? :)

PS1: On the eating front (which is what worries me the most) I am doing incredibly well. I have not cheated at all. My energy level is very low right now, and I suspect it is because I completely stopped eating sugar and my body is definitely feeling it. But everything else is right on track!!!

PS2: Thank you for you inspirational comments and even e-mails!!! Ill be checking up on your progress as well!!!

Off to the gym for some cardio and later today, after work, Ill top it off with a soccer game. Take care and I hope your day is going great!

garlic on 11/03/2004:
You must be proud of all that hard exercising that you're doing. Working out can make you feel so empowered!!!

About the sugar withdrawal ... if you can ride out the cravings and the low energy, etc., it will be worth it in the end. You give up sugar and you end up with no cravings ... ever!!!! Some people think it's not a realistic way to live but I'm just so glad to be relieved of the sugar callings. The last time I ate sugar was September 14, 2003. Trust me, it's worth it just letting it go.

Loads of luck with your challenge!! I say GO FOR IT!!!

legcramps on 11/03/2004:
Woohoo! You're on top of the world right now! Way to go! And I think that's a great idea, the Body For Life thing. It's probably just the thing you need to push-start weightloss and a healthier lifestyle. I wish you all the luck in the world, go for it!

MommaJ on 11/03/2004:
Wow!! You are doing awesome! Way to go girl! And you should definately enter the Fit for Life Challenge.....sounds like you are ready for the challenge for sure. When I read journal entries like this I really get motivated to get out there and exercise so maybe I will start doing that today....thanks! Have a super day :)

Good Morning Diarists! Today is the beginning of a new year in my life - yep I turned 31 yesterday - and of my work toward achieving a new body. I gave in and hired a personal trainer on Friday! Now I am making a financial commitment - on top of my own internal one - to change my body - which will keep me honest -- at least for the next 6 weeks!

I am just so excited -- And I cant even believe how, since this whole thing, the personal training sessions that is, is extremely inconvenient for me considering my work schedule, price I am paying for them, great distance from the studio to my work and home -- But hey, I believe that I will achieve my goals -- sooooooooo... it is totally worth it! Keep your fingers crossed for me!

I have a session with the nutritionist and another one with the personal trainer today! Ill let you guys know how it goes!

What a great way to start the week! :) Happy Monday!

************* FOOD LOG:

B: coffee and 1 protein bar

L: small piece of salmon and 2 slices of wheat bread, 1/2 tb peanut butter

S: 1 protein bar and small latte

MommaJ on 11/01/2004:
Happy Birthday!! It sounds like you've taken a big step to achieving your goals by hiring a personal trainer....good job! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Have a great day :)

Weight: 153.5

A couple of years ago I was writing here @ DD. My goal was to lose 15 pounds for my wedding, which I did. Then the last time I wrote here, my weight was way down (138) because my marriage was in big-big trouble. Well, 2 and a half years later, here I am again. Unfortunately, we didnt make it and now I am back here for myself. My weight is currently way up, I think because my anxiety level was also way up. Ive been on my own now (moved out) for about 2 months, so I think now its time to do some investing in myself.

My plan is to cut back my portions and avoid high-fat, high-calorie meals and exercise.

Food Log (plan):

B: latte and Total cereal with skim milk.

L: Spanish rice and beans

S: Popcorn

D: Chicken Fricassee and rice

S: Sugar-free, skim chocolate milk

Its good to be back. Im off to reading some diaries.

Bella

Welcome back. I'm sorry that your marriage didn't work, but it's good that you're thinking of your health and trying to get back on track. It sounds like you have a great plan, and obviously, you already knows what works, so good luck. I look forward to reading your entries. Have a great day!

Weight: 151.0

Hi Guys!!!!!!!! TGIF! I woke up feeling horrible, stomach issues and decided to work from home today. I didn't eat much today - for obvious reasons - and slept a lot. I'm still in the low 150s and hoping I'll be in the 140s by the end of next week. Wish me luck!!

FOOD LOG:

B/L: 2 low carb tortillas with fat-free cheese (about 300 cal) and coffee with milk (about 200 cal)

D: 3 turkey links (120 cal) with 1 slice of cheese (80 cal) and 1 low-carb tortilla (60 cal) and 2 lollipops (120 cal)

Hope y'all have a great weekend!

BellaK - Friday Mar 26, 2004

Weight: 150.5

Happy Friday All! I weighed myself this morning and I was 150.5. I will post the new weight as a reference point, but I am expecting that the weight will adjust itself to a couple - give and take - extra pounds by Monday. I was 155 on Monday and even though I am really watching what I eat and exercising, I don't think it's possible for me to have lost 4.5 pounds in 3 days! I'll weigh myself again on Monday. We'll see.

I am going away with my girlfriends to the Cape today. I am really excited to get away for a couple of days. The only problem is, when I asked them what we are going to do when we get there (they go every year, its my 1st time going with them) one of them said: Oh, we go for the food, we eat all day long. And she proceeds to tell me all the restaurants they go to. Every single one of them, from breakfast to dinner. ~~~~~ All righty then. So we dont have any restaurants around here? What about the cute shops, lovely beaches and the scenic roads Cape Cod is famous for?

I do NOT want to eat all day long, Ive been working too hard on my diet to let one weekend screw me up, so heres my commitment to myself. When I post on Monday, I will say that I made great food choices, considering the environment and the fact that I am going away on a mini-vacation. I know Ill be drinking wine, which I dont usually drink, and possible eating a couple of Cape Cod treats, such as a small piece of fudge (the best in the world!!!) and a couple of taffy candy (my favorites!), but that will be it!

Hope yall have a great weekend!

Food Plan:

B: 1 wheat bagel with very little lite cream cheese, 1 treasure.

kanga on 03/26/2004:
I hear you I have to retreat every three months with a group and I carry safe back up for me that are pleasing and not just blowing off my food plan that way I get the best of both worlds, hope you have a ton of fun!

geevee on 03/26/2004:
My weight is constantly going up and down. It seldom stays the same for two days in a row, which is why I started writing down my higgh and low weight for each week. Then, glancing at the list you can see progress as the highs go down each week, and so do the lows. I just had a 2lb. loss since yesterday. Right! Hey, good luck on your determination this week-end. It's not going to be easy, but you'll be able to talk yourself out of a lot of eating.

Weight: 155.0

Hello Diarists! It is a beautiful yet cold day here in CT. I can't wait till Summer when I'll be doing all kinds of outdoors activities! In the interim, I'll hit the gym!

B: 1 low-carb yogurt (I know I should be eating more than a 60-calorie yogurt, but I am just NOT hungry in the morning! Any suggestions??)

L: Frozen dinner and 1 low-carb pita with 1 slice of fat-free cheese.

Hope y'all are having a great day. I'll update this, read and comment on your diaries thruout the day! Have a great one!! :) Bella

geevee on 03/23/2004:
I've heard about breakfast being the most imp. meal of the day but have never been able to eat so early in the day. On rare occasions I'll have half a bagel, leftover cheesecake, whatever. I just want my coffee and a few hours later I eat when I'm hungry. So, no. I have no suggestions except not to feel guilty about not eating early.

digit on 03/24/2004:
Hello - thank you for my welcome back!!! like you I don't like eating in the morning so I sometimes get some strawberries and pineapple and pour my low fat yogurt over that and it's easy to eat (and tasty). Hope that's helpful.

Hello Friends! So I so am miserable today... What started as a sore throat has developed itself into a full blown cold. Yikes. Hope y'all are doing better than me!

B make me breakfast this AM (omelette and 2 pieces of toast)~ then we went to a boat store by the shore but it was closed. Nice car ride tho, really scenic. He is now out with 2 of his best friends, one of them is going thru a major life crisis. He cheated on his pregnant wife last year and now found out he has 2 babies (one with the wife and the other with the girl he cheated on her with), they are only 6 months apart. The wife found out yesterday about it and he is now out of their house. I can't even begin imagine what everyone involved is going thru. All I can do is offer my support and pray for them.

B and I watched for the TENTH time, I swear! "Fatal Attraction" this afternoon ~ I had a huge bag of fat-free popcorn while watching the movie. I don't know if/what I'll have for dinner. Sorry that I am kinda blah. It must be due to the fact that I feel totally blah! :)

Take care,

Bella

Monday ~ Food Log:

B: 1 low carb yogurt (60 cal)

L: 1 frozen dinner (250) with 1 slice of fat free cheese (30); 1 low carb bar (240)

Went home @ 3 cuz I as feeling like crap.

D: 1 cup of soup (150 cal), 3 fat-free turkey links (150 cal), 1 cup of low sugar/low fat ice cream (150 cal) with cool whip (100 cal) and pineapples (120 cal), 3 lollipops (180 cal). Total: 1,400 cal

Hope you start feeling better soon. Tis' the season to be sickly (at least here). Seems as if everyone I know is either recovering from or getting a virus of some sort. The weather here changes daily though. One day it's beautiful and the next it's snowing. Hope your friend and his family can get things worked out one way or another. It certainly sounds like a painful situation all of the way around. Thank you for your supportive comments in my diary. I appreciate the care that people here at this website show me (and one another).

Here's to a speedy recovery (hugs)!

God Bless!

Lisa

TGI Saturday! I woke up with a sore throat, I know I am coming down with something. I haven't been sick at all this winter and now, on the 1st day of spring I started with this! Argh!

B and went out to breakfast, but I wasn't too hungry. I ate a little bit of everything, but the quantities were small. Then I ate a 2nd meal, a salad with crab meat, 2 chicken wings, no skin, 1 low carb ice cream sandwich and 1 low carb yogurt mixed with some kashi and another kind of cereal (for the fiber). I am not one to go to the bathroom often, so I need all the help I can get! (Sorry for oversharing!) :) I also went grocery shopping and we worked some on our mud room (painting and decorating).

Hope you all are having a great weekend! :) Bella
