(3 Simple Meals a Day)
Weight: 160.6

Just got back from the trainer - had a good 1/2 hour workout. Went shopping with my daugher last night and bought two shirts one in L and xL - all the 1X were too big - yippee -- one day I'll be back to Mediums I hope - all in good time.

Had to move out all my size 16 pants - they are all too big in the waist and just fall off. I'm not quiet in a 12 yet but 14's are odd, well, my body is what's odd, but the 14's fit around the butt but they are too big around the waist. I have to pull the belt super tight and that's just not comfortable - so I skipped the pants for now - I've been wearing skirts and dresses to work -

I just can't admit summer is almost over - so I'll wear my summer clotes until October if I want! Just kidding - I'm a wimp when it comes to colder weather - I like to dress warm but not too warm.

--Well, this is rambling -- Well, I have two more weeks to get down to the 150's. I hope I can do it. I am prepared for my dr. visit - they will weigh me in my shoes and clothes (though i will wear flip flops and sneak them off) -- but I'm sure the scale will show ---my guess 164 - 166 for a mid afternoon appt. Still better than my last weigh in 3 months ago at 176. --

Well I'll keep eating those celery bits ( i chop celerey into small bite size pieces and snack on them through the day) and walking my 3 miles.

Our work is starting a walking program on Monday - so I'll wear my pedometer and hope to get 8,0000 steps which would be about 4 miles. The goal is 10,0000 steps / day but with my job (sitting at a computer for 8 hours) not much walking happening there. I usually walk after work when my kids are at thier sports practice.

Well - I'm done rambling - gotta love DD - I'm home and energized from my workout and everyone here is sleeping (except oldest son who left for work early) - Oh well -- I wish everyone a Super Successful Day!! We are all one day closer to our goal!!

Progress as of today: 19.4 lbs lost so far, only 20.6 lbs to go!

thinnside40 on 09/06/2008:
8 million steps and aiming for 10 million is an amazing feat!.... He He He He He!!!!! : o ) I know what ya meant, just made me laugh, which I really thank you for this day....

YOu are doing so well and being so busy...Thanks for keeping in touch!

I LOVE ZINNIAS!!!!... Hubby plnated a row in our garden, just so I could have plenty fresh cut flower boquets for the kitchen table.....

anewhb on 09/06/2008:
Cute pictur below! Cute haircut. Your flowers are so pretty - we had a tree accident on our house and have had a construction crew in our yard all summer - so no flowers for us this year. You are doing great. We have the same goal weight and are about in the same spot right now. I am interested in your work - I see from your bio you are a cyber teacher - can you tell me how that works? You area doing great. 1/2 way to goal. Keep up the good work. I have a goal of beng lighter when I go back to my doc and I have been putting off scheduling my check up! Yikes!

Maria7 on 09/06/2008:
Wow, you're doing fantastic!!!

What a lot of walking!

Nice photo!

Hope you're having a nice day!

selina on 09/07/2008:
Hi Cybermom! I'm so happy to see your photo and see how much younger you look after you lost all the weight. You look more like a "sister" than a "mom". It's fabulous, the change! I know exactly what you mean by clothes... It's wonderful and it's definetly worth the exercise and effort!

I feel the same way about myself - My face got slimmer and I definetly look younger...

It's tough but I'm sure we can reach our goal!

Jen40 on 09/08/2008:
Oh that's so funny you mention having sizes fit around the butt and be too big in the waist. I am going through that right now; I got out some clothes I have been waiting to wear and I flew right by the right time I guess because the waist is way too big! Now I have to fling them to Goodwill. Nice photo!!! I love seeing what everyone looks like! I love your hair style, I would love to go back to short hair someday.

WI3 on 09/08/2008:
Congratulations on the smaller sizes! What a fantastic feeling!

Happy Labor Day!!

A really productive and lazy day for me. I had my first week back to work before the students return and I am so swamped it's unbelievalbe! Honestly, if it weren't for today, Labor Day, a day off to labor, I'd be CRAZY! I have added responsibilities this year which I didn't realize would include traveling for conferences. That means I am away from my regualr duties and have to come up with a good way of meeting all my duties plus the traveling. I will mostly be busy from now until mid November then there is a lull. Just in time for me to have a break then begin my grad class in January -- uggg - too much to think about!

The really good news is I'm still losing weight AND I'm continuing to walk my 3 miles a day. When I get home from work, I rush to get the 3 kids where they need to be - soccer, field hockey or work - and instead of just sitting in the car and waiting for them - I go to the park and walk! I keep thinking of the good advice I get from DD friends and know that the walking is not going to happen by itself and I deserve the exercise because it will make me a better person! I so want to be in the 150's before my dr. visit on the 22nd. I was there 3 months ago and I believe I weighed in at 176 - wouldn't it be GREAT to be in the 150's this time? I gotta do it....I gotta do it..... I have 3 weeks until the visit -- wish me luck :)

Hope eveyone is having a Super Day!

Progress as of today: 18.8 lbs lost so far, only 21.2 lbs to go!

thinnside40 on 09/01/2008:
Too funny!... I too have a physical on the 22nd.... I am excited this year, cause I will be (or hope to be at least) <200....Dr. has been harping on me for 4 years to get there and usually haven't made it <215.....I have lab tests done on the 18th, so wil have the results the 22nd....

You are doing great & I have wondered about you this last few days especially.

Keep up the good work!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 09/01/2008:
congrats on all of your accomplishments! :) keep up the good work. although i don't have a physical, i DO have a wedding to go to! it's in October...if i go at it strong, i could be around 10 lbs less by then.

Maria7 on 09/01/2008:
Wow, you've been doing fantastic! You're ALMOST in the 150's! Keep up the good work! Yayyyy!!!

selina on 09/02/2008:
It's wonderful to see you back to DD and doing SO WELL! Congratulations!

sweetpea1977 on 09/02/2008:

(3 Simple Meals a Day)
Weight: 163.4

Our family went to Norfolk VA~ went to the beach then to Williamsburg. We were gone for 5 days and ate out for just about every meal. I was pretty careful to order salads and water. When I did order a meal I would split a plate with my daughter and thus we'd eat 1/2 the portion which was plenty in most cases. I think my stomach is shirnking b/c we did go to subway for one meal and I could not finish my 6" sub. I only ate about 2/3 of it. Anyway when we got home I took my son to soccer practice and I walked my 3 miles for the first time since the trip. I weighed myself this morning and whoo hoo - I lost 3 lbs!! Went to the trainer this morning and he asked if I had lost weight. He was very excited for me and I have to admit it feels good to have accomplished so much. For this weigh in, I changed my start weight to reflect my Dr.s scale back in June (which was way off of my scale --- I believed the dr. scale to be wrong only to find out my scale was wrong ~ I was very depressed about that for several days~) But I'm better now and I think that since I did eat properly over my vacation and even though I did not officially exercise (though we walked many hours in Williamsburg) I have a positive attitued about keeping up with this healthy life style. I start work on Monday - and my kids have sports schedules but I am taking the good advice of thininside and I will make the effort to walk inbetween taxi driving because she is right, no one is going to do it for me and honestly, if I don't do it, I will end up right back at 180 lbs and feeling sluggish. I really want to reach my goal of 140 - it's still 23 lbs away but ...I think i can....I think I can......

Progress as of today: 16.6 lbs lost so far, only 23.4 lbs to go!

thinnside40 on 08/19/2008:
I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT!......I've missed you and so glad you have come back with a 3# drop....How great did that feel to see that?...Your doing what you didn't think you could do a few weeks back.....Keep at it!

You've got 23 and I've got 47 to go....We are both just shy of 1/2 way mark...Lets get 'er done!

Maria7 on 08/19/2008:
Wow you did real fantastic! Glad you had a nice vacation!!! You are CLOSE to your goal!!!

WI3 on 08/19/2008:
Congratulations!!! And if you do the exercise and eat right, that 23lbs will be off in no time! Have a wonderful evening!

WI3 on 08/19/2008:
My pep talks to myself are "your butt will always be huge if you don't go." LOL just kidding..well no, not really kidding..I DO say that sometimes. Usually on the days when I am trying to talk myself out of it. hehe

I just pack my gym bag and go to the gym right after work. It is part of my day now and my day doesn't feel right unless I take care of MYSELF. I kind of think of my gym time as time at a health retreat...just me and a couple hundred of my sweaty friends that I don't really know. LOL

selina on 08/20/2008:
Hi Cybermom! I'm so glad to hear you had a great vacation and came back lighter, nonetheless! Congratulations! I love Colonial Williamsburg, it's so much fun with (and without) kids! Wonderful exercising!

You CAN do it! We were in Colonial Williamsburg & Virginia Beach in April, I miss it. :)

Hello! I've had a pretty good week as far as working out and keeping fit.

Tuesday 5-Aug walk/jog 55 min 3.0 mi

trainer 30 min

walk/jog 15 min 1.0 mi

Wed 6-Aug walked only 55 min. 3.0 mi

Thurs 7-Aug walk/jog 45 min 3.0 mi

trainer 30 min

Fri 8-Aug walk/jog 45 min 3.0 mi

Sat 9-Aug walked many miles shopping :)

I"m not as upset about the scale as I was last week and I've tried to be positive as I do see the numbers going down - yippee-

I finished my grad class this week - another yippee - and I don't take one in the fall. Only two more weeks then school starts and my daily schedule will be really packed. I've already started making daily plans so I can incorporate walking as long as the weather is still nice. I'm squeezing it in between my girls soccer and field hockey and my son's soccer practices -- having it on paper is one thing - making it happen is another! My hubby wants me to continue with the trainer which really amazes me - we're trying to keep our finances under control but he feels this is worth helping me get back to a helthy place in my life. He even said - 'it may take a year but you're doing good and you should keep at it!' I really do want to honor his support, and Lord willing, maybe my lifestyle will change for the helathy good in due time. I just have to keep telling myself - exercise is for your good and it's only one hour of your day! -- I just need a good 'quote' for the days I say - "I really do not have an hour - i'm too beat and I just don't feel like going" Any suggestions? :)

Progress as of today: 3.4 lbs lost so far, only 26.6 lbs to go!

thinnside40 on 08/10/2008:
Look how fast an hour goes..Take the time, cause you are worth it! Nobody else can do it for you...

Have a great evening!

maria777 on 08/10/2008:
Congratulations to you on your new lower number!!! Yayyyy!!!

(3 Simple Meals a Day)
Weight: 170.8

Sorry I haven't been around lately -- I was away for a few days for work.

I did have a little set back and I've been reluctant to post - really this is minor in the grand scheme of things but it's my hurdle for the moment - first of all, I went out of town for a few days for work and hopped on the scale in the weight room - it showed my weight as 10 lbs heavier than my scale. I knew that it could be wrong, but honestly it was weighing me similar to the scale at the dr's office (could they both be wrong?) Then a few days later the faceplate on our scale broke exposing the insides so we decided to get a new one. This scale measures 5 lbs heavier than the old one and matched the scale at the hotel. so now I'm realizing I did not begin at 170 I may have really begun weighing in at 175 or 180 and my current weight now is 170.8 :(

I'm feeling so bleak, I'm still working out and my husband even encouraged me continue with the trainer (i was going to quit at the end of august when school starts) .....I am getting stronger, but that darn scale.......... Well, I have to be honest and post my weight as it is and hope that in the next month I get back to the real 160 --DD friends - any words of wisdom for me??

Progress as of today: -0.8 lbs lost so far, only 30.8 lbs to go!

thinnside40 on 08/04/2008:
I always have just gone by with whatever scale I started my first day with...The ACTUAL weight gone is the same regardless...... Are your clothes fitting loser? Are you feeling better? Are you happier with your energy level increasing (not when yer so busy, but overall) ? DO YOU FEEL BETTER IN ANY WAY? That is what you need to look at my friend..... Do those extra pounds you didn't realize were there make your clothes fit tighter..NOPE!

Go with what you know makes you feel successful, continue with the trainer and ignore that scale for a bit....

Jen40 on 08/05/2008:
BUT you HAVE lost all that weight from your body!! The number doesn't matter, you've come a long way already and you'll continue just as you planned. I know if it was me I would be feeling exactly the same way as you, and need encouragement to continue, too * HUGS* It's something that could be happening for ANY one of us too, My scale could be off but still I've gotten thinner and healthier and more active, so those are all good.

maria777 on 08/06/2008:
You know lots of scales weigh you differently...just go by the one you feel the BEST with and don't worry about it. If you want to change your weight that you started with, feel free to do it and don't worry about it. Sometimes different scales can be off 5 to 7 pounds or so...and you wonder...which one is right??? Don't worry...be happy! Smile!

Wow - I cannot believe I let a whole week go by without journaling. My exercising was as follows:

Tuesday 22-Jul walk/jog 55 min 3.0 mi trainer 30 min

Wed 23-Jul walk/jog 40 min 2.5 mi

Thurs 24-Jul walk/jog 40 min 3.0 mi trainer 30 min

Fri 25-Jul walk/jog 45 min 3.0 mi

Saturday - break

Sunday - Day of Rest :)

Today I go to the trainer for 30 min.

I still have lots of work to do for my grad class - I have a paper due August 7, I started it Saturday and I didn't realize how many requirements need to be met....ugggg - I have a curriculum training session for 3 days this week so I won't be able to work on it at all then - or exercise... uggg again - (the training should be fun though)... Well, I just have to relax and realize that some weeks will be busy and I will not 'grow back all I've lost' in one week. I will eat healthy and drink plenty of water. Perhaps in the evenings I can go for a walk or hit the treadmill at the hotel, but if I end up too tired, I will rest and not feel guilty.

I hope everyone is well - I'll take time later to catch up and read your entries. I just know everyone is working hard and making progress!

Well, I am up and running again. :) At least I think I will have a good week this week. Last night my hubby went walk/jogging with me. It was fun. I was glad to get in my 2.5 mi and feel energized again. Then my walking buddy met me this morning and we did 3 mi of walk/jog. She was starting to get sore shins so we stopped the jogging after 1.25 mi but we kept our pace at a good speed, at least my heart rate was steady. Tomorrow my buddy wants to go out at 8 a.m. uggg -- but it will be good to go. I meet with the trainer tomorrow at 11. *********************************************************

breakfast - protein drink with milk and fiber

snack - nutrigrain bar

lunch - water and diet pepsi - wasn't very hungry

dinner - roasted potatoe, ham, onion, zucchini, choc cake for dessert, milk and coffee

going to finish the evening with lots of H2O :)

P.S. Thanks everyone for all your words of encourgement - you're all super DD friends!

Oh, Look!!! Happy Dance! Happy Dance! You are down one! Congratulations to you on your new number!!! YYYYYAAAAAYYYYY!!!!

Your menu looks real good (esp the cake, hehehe!) and especially all that walking!!!

selina on 07/21/2008:
Hi cybermom! Sounds like you are back into the swing of things! Wonderful!

6 miles walk yesterday: I did 2 miles in the afternoon whith daughter when we went to our hike, which turned out to be not such a good trail, so we just came back. the other 4 miles I did in the evening, just as the sun was setting... will post a picture of sunflowers fields again, that I took yest evening... Anyway, I'm used to doing 5 miles in about 1 and 1/2 to 1 and 3/4 hour - it depends on how fast I can go and how inspired I feel about the scenery - I always carry my camera with me, and that can really slow me down. I do cross country walking - with walking poles, which are great for my knees and you can go really fast uphill and get upper body workout. Anyway, 5 miles = 1.5 hr.

thinnside40 on 07/22/2008:
Hoper yer day today has been a good one and your meeting with the trainer went well..... Sound like you have a re-freshed vision of where yer wanting to be.... Keep it up!

(3 Simple Meals a Day)
Weight: 163.0

Well, I've been out of the loop for a couple days. My walking buddy couldn't walk with me on Thursday or Friday or Satruday and I went into a slump....I decided on Friday morning since I wasn't going to walk/jog I would do a liquid fast for three days. I am now on day 2 but I did not do a pure fast. On Friday I ate 3 crackers with cheese at noon and 3 more crackers with cheese around 7. Then today I ate some tine pretzel sticks at noon and ate two forks of chocolat cake at 5. I have been drinking water, coffee, orange juice and water. I don't feel weak or shakey or anything but I am feeling bad because I'm really not in the mood to do any exercise for any length of time. I have done 2 exercises the trainer showed me but frankly, without getting my heart rate up it all seems worthless. I keep thinking about people who say "you'll get to a place where you will have to exercise or your day just won't be complete without it." Honestly, I am so not there yet. I had a good start for 3 weeks and now "BUMP" - Well, I'm trying not to be discouraged. I know I will not be able to exercise tomorrow morning b/c I'll be at church but maybe I should make a plan to go to the park in the evening around 7:30 when it is a bit cooler and just walk the path once. I don't even have to jog... just walk. That will take me only 16 minutes - surely I can do that~ Well, wish me luck ~ I hope everyone is well :)

Progress as of today: 7 lbs lost so far, only 23 lbs to go!

maria777 on 07/19/2008:
7 pounds in one month is FANTASTIC!!! Hang in there, Friend!

As for exercise...I'm not into doing something 'extra' for exercise every day, either! Hope you feel better!

selina on 07/20/2008:
Hi cybermom! I have never tried a liquid fast, I hear it cleanses your system real well. I hope you can get that walk in today!

WI3 on 07/20/2008:
You are still doing very well, and you will get to a point where you just don't feel right unless you do some sort of activity beyond your normal daily activity. It does happen lol. And on the days that you don't feel like pushing yourself...at least take a little walk..it is good for the mind as well as the body AND the lymph system. Have a wonderful day!

maria777 on 07/20/2008:
Hope you're having a nice day! (smile!)

thinnside40 on 07/20/2008:
Well, my friend..... I don't really want to go on my 6 mile walk, but it isn't becase I don't want to walk...It is because I will miss being with my family..I am getting used to the less mileage walks, but more quality time with them....The person I am trying to be so careful around right now asked about walking tonight and I will oblige.... Kids & hubby are a bit bummed, but maybe we can go just to the pond (not around the orchard) when I get back in if it isn't too dark...

Just find that something that you enjoy for exercise and utilize it to the maximum... If you don't like really any, then you are going to have to make yourself like something..... Do you have a MP3 or iPod when you walk?..I love music (favorite right now is Austin's Bridge ~ bluegrass style music).I actually catch myself walking faster/using more of my body and having time fly when I am alone with the music going..I look forward to letting the words of songs speak to me.....Most of the time, the words relate to something I am going through (happy OR sad)....The Lord allows people to put words to music and make it sink-in with me when sometimes nothing else will.....

Have a good evening!
