Breakfast - 8 oz milk with protein powder and fiber powder

waked/jogged 3 miles in 55 minutes - felt very sluggish today, but kept at it!

1 nutrigrain bar (140 cal) coffee

made plans with friend from class - we'll be eating a late lunch and early dinner around 3:30 - Class goes from 5 - 8:45 and we need to leave around 4:25 to get there - so...kind of messes up the schedule a little.

snack- teriaki (spelling?) chicken and rice - I was at the mall and couldn't resist - only had a few fork fulls and brought the rest home for the kids

lunch- BLT, pickle and small piece of chocolate cake

snack- diet pepsi and water

Progress as of today: 7 lbs lost so far, only 23 lbs to go!

We tend to mix a late dinner(lunch) with an early supper on Sundays... I wish I could do that all week long, but can't with hubby getting home @ 6:00 p.m....You sound busy....

Good job getting in the walk/jog despite the "sluggish" feelings....Good Day!

the sweet and sour tuna is actually packaged in an aluminum package in the canned foods isle. it is actually VERY good. I think the brand is bumblebee! i love this flavor!

30 min workout with trainer

lunch - missed lunch b/c took son to dentist

snack - small piece of chocolate cake/frosting (me bad! - i worked with my trainer's assistant today and she said to look at food in a new way "as fuel". Think "will this item fuel my body?" I guess I didn't answer that question very well this time. "But it was a very small piece!"

Has anyone ever been to Norfolk, VA? We're planning a trip to the beach but we'll be staying in Norfolk. The hotel site has some activities listed but I just wondered if anyone could recommend any good sites or food places. Or if you can recommend the best place to park at the beach - I've never been to VA beach so any info would be helpful. Thanks :)

Dinner - oven roasted in olive oil potatoes,zucchini (from garden yum),onions, and ham. water and diet pepsi

The Chocolate Cake/Frosting can be looked at as a fuel, but doesn't last very long.... Oh well.... I had a piece with dinner too...Ben (son) baked it a couple days ago and it was a 1/2 the sugar mix, plus I had him use non-sweetened applesauce, instead of the oil...It tasted just the same as regular.... We have to also be realistic in how we eat..Sometimes we just need to feel "normal" and eat something we like and in small portions as you did...

Never been to Norolk, but sounds fun...Hope you can get some answers so you can make plans for the trip....

YAyyyy! on the 30 mins workout!!! Oven roasted potatoes sure does sound delish! Also zucchini...I had some of that last night...our Pastor picked some out of his garden and gave us some along with some other fresh garden veggies...yum!

I've been to Virginia Beach before...not real familiar with Norfolk...really couldn't tell you a lot about Virginia Beach either as we only stayed a couple days or so...but we did stay on the beach front....and that was the FIRST time I ever saw REAL PEOPLE do what Fred Flintstone and his family do...pedal by in these little golf-cart looking vehicles...we sat out on our balcony and watched FAMILIES pedal by in them...REALLY NEAT!!!

well considering you didnt have lunch then the chocolate cake probably wasnt thattttt bad hahaha but the question your trainer asked you was a good question. AND I LOVE NUTRAGRAIN BARSSS. Okay, listen, cut it in half and heat it in the microwave for just a few seconds (literally not a lot because one time i burned one and it was disgusting) and have it with a glass of ice cold milkkkk oh my goodnessss to die for.

! YES ! 2 days in a row I weighed in and got the same number - I officially lost 1 pound!

Breakfast - 9oz glass of 2% milk with protein powder and fiber powder.

walked/jogged 3 miles

Lunch - Tomato/cheese sandwich - toasted bread (2 slices) two slices of tomatoe, one square of cheese and 1/2 T hellmans - 12oz diet pepsi

snack - 1 string cheese stick 12 oz diet pepsi (thirst quencher)

snack - 1/2 c cottage cheese

Dinner - 1 T cooked rice, 1 chicken leg with skin, small roll with ICBNButter, 2 large glasses of water

Progress as of today: 7 lbs lost so far, only 23 lbs to go!

Well, I missed DD yesterday. I had a good walk/jog (2.5mi) in the morning. Did some running with my girls and had a bbq with the neighbor. By 11:00 I was beat.

Got up this morning and weighed in at 163 but I'm not excited until I weigh in tomorrow morning and see the same number. I've decided I am going to start journaling my food intake. I suppose it is possible I'm not eating enough so my body slows the metabolism and I don't lose. So...starting tomorrow ....the food journal -

Hope you enjoy the food journaling.... I do it mainly for self accountability...I hate to write something down that I don't want to see I have eaten #1. Then really don't like having people see that I wasn't a very healthy eater #2.....

RE: CHerry Tomatoes ~ I cheated a bit this year and bought the huge plants that already had blooms on them..... I have about 10 varities of tomatoes this year... I LOVE THEM!.... I have orange & reds....Freeze them, juice them, can them, sauce them, salsa them.... MMMMMMM!!!!

Yesterday was a good day - but a busy day. I did an assignment for my class then I walked/jogged 2.5 mi. I had a big debate with myself "do i do course work first or exercise first?" I decided to do the course work because it would be on my mind until I got it done thus causing me stress. So I settled that matter. The day flew by and it was soon time for my class - I leave about 4:15 and return home at 9. I was very tired last night. My eyes were heavy. Then in the middle of the night I began sneezing and sneezing - so now I'm thinking I have a cold! Fell back to sleep but woke up with a pounding headache. Got my protein drink and then took two day quill capsules -- they seem to be working. Still have some course work to do so I think I'll 'plan' to do my walking tonight around 6:30 or 7. I may try to take a little nap or at least rest - I feel so weak. Maybe a cup of coffee will perk me up....wish me luck :)

I bought mine @ a ShopKo a few years back... I like it alot, but when you get off of it from going a few miles, you walk kinda funny for a while...

I hope you didn't catch a cold and it's just an allergy. I had allergies the other night and could not sleep. They were harvesting the crops outside (rapeseed oil) and I guess I was allergic to all that dust. Stay well....

Allergys are bad here too... my hubby has all sorts of problems with them... not good to have a runny nose when your blowing up balloons....lol

BTW... smart lipo is a new non invasive for of liposuction. there is more info at http://www.smartlipo.com/ but you can pretty much do it on a lunch hour, no recovery....

Today was a good day. I used my gymboss to walk/jog around my neighborhood instead of driving to the park. I was a little embarrassed to be in the neighborhood. Many people of various shapes and sizes walk/jog at the park but in my neighborhood it seems like only the 'fittest' people are out. My neighborhood is an older development; built in the late 50's but it has nice tree lined sidewalks which are great on a warm day. Anyway, I did my 3min walk/ 1 min jog rep (4X) and it went well. I likely did 1.25 mi which is less than I do at the park (2.5) but it's a start. I was reasoning with myself that I'd be at the trainer today so 1/2 the walk is better than none. At the trainer my heart rate went up to 193 - that was after a 2 min crank on the bike. I can still feel myself sweating! But, that's why I go to him isn't it!

I attended class tonight and learned how to make homemade snow! Not really, the man that sat next to me rigged up a machine to make snow in the winter and actually shared his fun with the class during break. I actually took notes for my son will want to try it this winter:)

Well, I do have some homework, but my daughter wants me to watch "Twilight Zone" with her - so I'll be back a little later to read and post more. Hope everyone is well!

Thanks for the reinforcement... Today I am just tired of trying to figure this all out... In the beginning it was nothing for me to have a 2-2.5 drop each week..Now, my body has gotten used to the things I chose to eat , instead of fast food, diet soda (lots), fried foods, etc.... and now to figure out what to change is the hardest part since February..Everybody tells me what an insipiration I am with all my walking and the 30#'s gone, etc...But I have to show the not so positive side of me to DDer's sometimes to remind myself as well that I am no different than those inspired...I'm nothing spectacular, just have dug in and got with it..Now that get with it ain't workin anymore and figuring it out is mentally trying....

You are doing terrific...Keep up the great work!

Well - not such a productive day today. I woke up at 9:00am - really late for me - drank my protein drink, and hustled out the door to do my walk/jog. Only did one lap 1.25 miles then quit. It was hot, I forgot to wear my headband, sunglasses and wrist band and I was sweating like crazy, my shorts did not have pockets so I had to carry my keys and could not carry my water so after one lap, my air conditioned van looked very invititng so I quit after one lap. I learned my lesson for today, tomorrow I will rise earlier, take my time and dress properly and set out to do my two laps of 2.5 miles. (AT least that is my attitude NOW -- will this determination stay with me until tomorrow morning?? -- we shall see

My online grad class meets face to face tomorrow and Thursday. It starts at 5 and ends at 8:45. Fortunately it is not far from my house. The prof drives into my city and meets with us for two days this week and two days next week. The bulk of the course is online and according to the syllabus, I will have some work to do each day. It's actually a technology course for teachers - learning how to incorporate technology into the classroom. Some things I should have experience with, but I have much to learn.

Well - I keep hopping on my scale and those numbers just will not budge - BUT- I did lose an inch off my thighs and hips -- yippee -- maybe I am just building muscle but surely the weight HAS to go down sometime!??! I feel like I'm Never going to reach my goal weight at this rate. Is there something I'm missing? Well - will someone tell me the html code for enlarging font so that when my scale does show a loss I can post it with joy!! (i'm trying to be optimistic!)

The code is you do this < then you write font size=5 then you do this>

You can experiment with putting different numbers other than 5 which will change the size of your text. To not have the text continued in the size you choose, remember to do this </ and then you write font size=5 or whatever number you choose and end with doing this >

As for carrying things with you when you walk/jog, do you have a fanny purse? They are good for carrying keys, water, etc. You just wear them around your waist.

Looks like you are doing fantastic...one thing that also helps is a food diary...but some people are not comfortable counting calories that way...works for me, though.

Try jogging/walking in the evenings when it's cooler. Maybe it's inconvenient for you, but it works for me. I can't run in the sun!

It is really hard to workout when you aren't prepared for it, that's for sure. I've done the same thing, set out on a walk without all the stuff I needed and either stopped before I wanted, or didn't do as well as I could have lol. Have a great day!

I totally understand the caffeine "drop".....Before 1/21, I was a 80 or more oz. a day Diet Wild Cherry Pepsi drinker...Plus, I drank coffee in the mornings... I quit cold turkey on the D.W.C.P. and just had the morning coffee... I went to drinking 120 or more ounces of water per day and still do, but have the occasional "can" of Pepsi....Doesn't even taste as good as I thought it did before...

Keep at the walking & eating healthy...Yes, the scale will reflect your hard work & effort...In it's own time!...It has no other choice when we keep on keeping on.....

Today was a mixed day. My in laws left for home just as it started to pour down rain. No outside walking for me. I did use my gymboss and exercise for 17 min doing my 'walk for 3 min and jogging for 1 min'. Then in the afternoon I had a great 1/2 hour workout with the trainer. He made me laugh when he handed me boxing gloves and said I was going to punch 'left/right 100X' I was hot and my muscles were feeling fatigued but I gave it my best - I did make it to 100 but the last 20 were kind of weak. All in all it was a good workout.

Today is my son's 15th birhtday - he asked for an ice cream cake -- yummy (I had a small sliver :) Then I joined my 16 yr old daughter in watching an old Alfred Hitchcock movie online. They just don't make movies like that anymore. Yes it was a bit 'old fashioned' but they put a lot of thought into the dialogue and they are really quite clever.

Well, my class started today - it was a simple assingment - submit an introduction and what you hope to gain from the course. So far so good. I'm keeping to my plan, take one day at a time - but I do still need to write out a schedule to follow or else I'll feel like I'm running in too many directions. "One day at a time - minute by minute :) "

A quiet lazy Sunday physically but not mentally. I'm not doing any exercising today because I usually keep Sunday as a day of resting, but unfortunately, my mind is not at all at rest. I start a grad class tomorrow and that is on my mind. The course has some in class days but mostly it is done online. I always get very nervous about being able to keep up with everything. I usually have to read the syllabus 3 times to be sure I know what's going on for the course. This course is a 15 week course packed into 5 weeks. Fortunately, I have a friend who is taking the course also so we can keep each other on track :) I suppose I just need to sit down and make a schedule so I don't make excuses for not exercising for the next 5 weeks. I know that sounds dramatic, but it is easy for me to take a day and say "I don't feel like walking and since I have this reading to do....." and before you know it - the week will be passed and I will have done NO walking. OK - now that I have admitted to all of you how I can make excuses - I must take courage and go make that schedule ---in bold print I will put Walking/jogging - and I will remember my friend saying "I do this because I see the results!" I have to tell myself that taking the time to walk/jog is NOT taking time away from my schooling - instead it is making me stronger and that is the priority! My priority has to be my health - and heck - I can squeeze 1 hour out of my day to include a good hearty walk/jog. I must convince myself of that and I must make that schedule and follow it - one day at a time! Wish me luck -- thanks for letting me 'think outloud' :)

I do it, because I have learned to TAKE time for "me" to better my health AND mind.... Even if you just walk 15 minutes in a super busy day, I bet you will feel more at ease and like you took some time out for yourself that you need to give to yourself.... at first I felt a bit guilty for being gone from home/family for 30 minutes (2 miles)..Goodness now that I ususally take 1.5 hours..that 30 minutes seems like a vapor and I don't feel guilty at all, cause I am giving myself the attention I need to better myself for my family...

DD is about "thinking outloud" and sure does help doesn't it?

Exercise is a great stress reliever, so be sure to reward yourself with it. Even if you cant get in the whole workout at one time, it will still do wonders for yourself mentally and physically. Plus, its actually better to perform few/several small bursts of energy expenditure throughout the day vs one long workout session! AND, the exercise breaks will keep you from dealing with your stress in an unhealthy way (binging, eating junk, etc).

Missed my entry for the 3rd and 4th of July. Have family (in laws) visiting so I don't get to escape to my computer for very long. I did not go walking yesterday b/c it was raining. Felt kind of bad but then I realized it's not a bad thing to have a one day break.

Went walking today with my 'gymboss'. Did 2.5 miles in 35 min. I think the added minute of jogging (3 min walking and 1 minute jogging) makes the trip go a little faster. And I do feel like I am getting stronger.

I went shopping with my mother in law today and was able to fit into a skort that was 2 sizes smaller. It wasn't a 'perfect fit' so I decided not to buy it, but I'm excited to see that my body is 'shaping' up even though the numbers on the scale aren't moving very much. I was glad I tried it on b/c we always go eat out at Hoss's when my in-laws visit and b/c I had such a good mood about the skort, I did an awesome job at NOT over eating at Hoss's. I had a small salad, some white fish and two pieces of bread with some frosting --yum. I drank water and had no desserts! All I need to do now is take my vitamines and my day will be complete :) !

About the salad recipe~ the veggies soften a little bit but are still what I call crunchy. I've made it before and put the veggies (broc. caul. carrots) in *almost* boiling water for 1 minute and immediately cooled them in cold water after. That might be what you need for people who don't want the crunch.

Wow! You are doing FANTASTIC!!! So happy for you! 2.5 miles in 35 min is fast walking/jogging! When you do a lot of regular exercising like that, even if the scale doesn't move, you will find that your sizes are getting smaller! That is a bonus to exercising regularly! Great Day!..... C o N g R a T u L a T i O n S on the feeling worth being good, cause of seeing the results.... I have on a pair of underwear today (sorry if it is too much info, but....) that a few weeks back I could not stand to see myself in.....In a hurry this a.m...I put a pair of them on and when I had time to really look at them on me... I liked what I saw much better than before...My "donut" around the bottom protion of my tummy is shrinking...YEA!!!! That tells me that even though my numbers aren't going down as fast as I would like on those scales, that the walking IS making things get smaller and I am building muscle....This is the first time in all my times "downsizing" that I have exercised/walked and boy there sure is a difference in ALL body parts taking shape, even my face... When I have been current weight in the past, my face was so heavy and my "twin chin" was exactly that...This time, I actually like looking in the mirror and seeing "me" under all that "fat" that has been disappearing.... I guess I have rambled enough and shall end this..

Just know one thing!... You are doing terrific and I am so happy you are here!

great job on the exercise and eating! i also like mixing walking and jogging - it does make me feel stronger, too.

Just a few more weeks and I bet that skort will be a perfect fit! I got out a denim skort and some capris today just to see if they fit. I'm not there yet, but I have a picture in my head of being able to fit them by August and I can't wait!
