Progress as of today: 58 lbs lost so far, only 22 lbs to go!

I don't remember you but i'm sure i was here when you were here last time as I've been using this site for approximately TEN YEARS! I love it and love meeting new folks and the regulars that come on here. It's great networking for meeting people with health and fitness goals and people who like to hear ideas on how to better themselves and help each other!...now i'm reading your entry below...!

Wow you are a tall one! I am only 5’1.75” haha. not even 5’2”…anyways…I have come to find it doesn’t totally matter how tall / short you are as clothes are generally made well for both petites, regulars & talls! :-P

I have never been pregnant myself but I see how it can affect your weight during it and after. A couple women that I work with are pregnant (they sit next to each other!!) and boy have their bodies changed SO MUCH in such a short time (they are both just entering 3rd trimester). They are both due either late August for one lady and late September for the other. They have both gained a ton of weight it seems and I know how hard it is to lose weight as losing weight is something I AM FAMILIAR with! And losing weight is hard….compared to gaining. Lol. give me fries & I’ll gain….but only eating salads blows….so what I’m saying is, I understand the struggle of losing weight after pregnancy even though I didn’t experience it myself! And you can do it!

And you are right…the only way to continue to lose and break through a plateau is by sticking to something (diet or lifestyle) that works. Stick with it for the LONG RUN and you’ll lose weight. But you must work with it and fit it into your lifestyle. Losing weight is a process that requires dedication and patience….i know it because I have lost a considerable amount of weight 2x in my life. One time was losing college weight and the second time was losing weight and even the final 10lbs for my sister’s wedding. Overall, the most I have lost over a long period of time is 25-30 lbs. The first time I lost weight, I was able to lose it over approx. just over one year. The second time I lost weight it took several years….and then losing that final ten pounds the second time took a year alone just for that part!

So as long as you can be patient and learn from your past, you can do it! and we are here to support you 100%.

If your body isn’t playing ball as you say – and it’s not losing weight – you will have to find another solution. You have to actually break current habits and start up new ones. It means what you currently eat / drink is over the limit of calories that you need. You have to find ways to reduce a little bit to find the sweet spot where your body loses at a steady and gradual pace of ½ pound up to a pound or two at MOST per week. Dieting can be tricky at first or uncomfortable because you have to make changes in what you are used to and create new habits that work.

Hello!

I am in the middle of a loong journey to lose the weight I gained during both my pregnancies. I'm 5ft 7.5 and now fit into a UK size 12 (US 8) so am pretty much back to a healthy BMI and back to the highest weight I was before my first pregnancy 5.5yrs ago. However, I'm aiming for 140lbs as I felt good at this weight. Have plateaued for last few weeks and am finding it hard to stick to diet as a result so thought is shake things up by joining diet diaries. I have been going to slimming world meetings but, to be honest, am thinking of stopping as I don't think they are making any difference to my commitment anymore - I am determined to lose the weight for me, not to gain praise from others and sometimes I feel stressed that my body isn't playing ball and that, despite sticking to the plan the scales haven't changed. I don't find that to be a healthy thing to feel. So am going to try going it alone. I haven't lost all the weight on slimming world, but have been on plan since February and have lost 2.5 stone since then :)

I'm feeling pretty good and understand it will get harder to lose weight now as have been dieting for a while. However it is frustrating to be so slow as am still heavy. I'm thinking of shifting things around - doing lower carb sw plan and increasing exercise for a few weeks to see if gets scales moving again.
