Friday we get the girl and get home - DH cooks chicken in the air fryer and we have riced cauliflower and some kind of kale quinoa mixture. It was pretty good. Afterwards the YAM (Young adult male - DH's son) comes over and makes his first car payment. He stayed and visted for DH for a few hours. My DH takes the high road and tells his son - "Don't wait four years to talk to your mother, life is too short." the YAM says, yes I know. I seriously doubt those words left the mom's mouth the last four years regarding DH's and YAM's relationship. It is good now, I just hope it lasts. It is funny how he texts me about things. He is proper and respectful and spells things correctly - actually I'm very surprised about this. I hope one day he finishes school. I ended the night with 1365 calories

Saturday we were supposed to go get the title changed over but the YAM had to work and DH the girl and I went to Vermilion to see an ice festival. DH normally works on Saturday so this was really nice and I loved walking around the town looking at the different ice sculptures. There was even free hot chocolate and cookies. I only drank half my hot chocolate and gave my cookie to the girl. It was cheap entertainment. Afterwards we go out to eat for DH's birthday. It is actually tomorrow, but since we had the girl with us, we we ahead and ate out.

B: crumpets, peanut butter, iced vanilla latte

Late lunch: turkey, avocado BLT on ciabatta bread, I had some onion rings and a few chips with spinach and artichoke dip

S: yogurt

The girl and I went to JCP and Sears looking for a purple outfit for me to wear at my BFF's wedding next month. Settled on a skirt and purple top.

Ending Saturday with 1622 calories - this is a lot for me

Sunday - I was up at 7:30 and was in a cleaning mood for some reason. We ate breakfast and I started laundry. I took the vacuum and cleaned along the kitchen base boards getting all the crumbs and pet hair up that the broom just totally misses. The YAM came back by and helped DH carry part of the sectional to the basement so now I have the couch and two chairs in the living room - lots more room! I also scoured the stove and got on the burned on gunk off. DH cooks buy he rarely cleans - he is a sloppy cook. The girl left about 5:30 and we just listened the the super bowl, really didn't care about who won or lost.

B: bacon, eggs, toast

Late lunch: steak, caulifower, corn

S: yogurt, gold fish

ending Sunday with 1473 calories

Was up this morning at 4:30 and did some Zumba and had some regular iced tea - I might add another exercise element in here....maybe

B: yogurt, iced vanilla latte

L: 1/2 ham and cheese sandwich, apple, orange

S: breakfast bar, orange, balanced breaks

D: pork chop and something.

So yesterday was a FO day...called in sick for a mental health day! I just couldn't adult yesterday.

I got up about 8:30 and was watching TV when I talked myself into Zumba...I couldn't let it go. After Zumba I ate a late breakfast and did a lot of nothing, except feel guilty for not going to work.

Brunch: crumpets, maple peanut butter, iced vanilla latte

D: meatloaf, potatoes, salad

S: yogurt

I didn't sleep well last night. The dog growled at me to get up for some reason. I stayed up from 12:00 - 1:30 and then it took forever to fall back asleep. I was up again at 4:45 for Zumba. Drank my Acai berry tea, showered and yes...I did arrive to work today.

Felt even guiltier by everyone asking if I felt better, uh....sure!

B: yogurt, iced vanilla latte

L: 1/2 ham and cheese sandwich, gold fish, apple

S: balanced breaks

D: chicken and something not sure yet

Wednesday we had fire roasted corn for dinner. It was a steamable bag from OraIda or Green giant, not sure which but it was the best corn ever.

Great calories. Sometimes you just gotta take a break if it's allowed especially. I took an extra day off too (Thursday for a concert...and yesterday just to relax and sleep in after the concert).

DH made a rotisserie chicken but it took forever to get cooked. We had stuffing and brocolli tots first and then about 20 minutes later had the chicken. It was delicious. If you haven't tried the new brocolli tots from Green Giant I highly recommend them. DH put them in the air fryer and they came out crispy and just yum.  Ended the night with 1553 calories - this is higher than it has been because of no zumba or exercise - back is still acting up.

Slept ok last night and was up early to do zumba. Drank my green tea (Acai berry) with splenda, and had my 15 minutes of meditation.

Work is crap today - I swear today has lasted forever! I can't do work if no one else does work - waiting on people to work...not my idea of a good day

I don't think I have the hang of shopping on line - the ad can say all the right words and show all the right pictures but I need to feel it and touch it and inspect it before I can determine if I want it or not. I ordered four binders a few months ago and the picture looked all right and the description sounded like what I wanted, but when they arrived they were made out of cheap material and the plastic seams split within two weeks of usage.

L: 1/2 roast beef and swiss sandwich with mustard, apple

We have the girl tonight, she has a therapist apointment so we will be rushed to get things done, especially if there is homework.

Sorry about your back, your calories are good though :-D nicely done!

I've also been doing the green tea...good for antioxidants and skin and all...far better than coffee but i still reach for coffee on some days.

my work is slow also...very slow....but i'm happy, better than being stressed, always things to look at on internet and read about...

its true - buying clothes online, i never know what i am getting until it comes...it's really funny actually bc most things i buy at old navy online...i'm always surprised at the fabrics and colors in person! never what i saw online...some good and some bad. mostly good though.

try to work through being rushed...knowing there's nothing that can be done...

After many heated discussions with DH we decided to sell my car to his son. I drafted a conditional sales agreement for him to sign. He is living with his grandmother (with two other male cousins), he said he has a job but needed time to save money. A thing he apparently couldn't do while living with his mother and step-father. My 2008 Dodge Caliber has almost 140K miles but it is still in good running order. We are selling it to him for $700 with $50 payments. Because we only want him to do good things and are trying to help him succeed at something, we agreed to pay for his insurance until the car is paid in full. Hopefully that will only be for the 14 months plus an additional month for him to get the insurance he needs. I told DH to expect some slack from his POS ex-wife.

There is also the chance for continued insurance payment should he choose to return to school and/or take classes to get his GED, but if not, the insurance will stop.

So last night DH and I go and pick up my new Buick and it is just wonderful, but I'm not going to like making a car payment - this kinda overshadows the newness of the car. After the son picks up the Caliber it is almost 7:00 so DH and I go to Steak-n-Shake. I ordered a burger and a milkshake...but I only drink 1/2 of the shake. This is a major victory for me, as normally I would have that shake drank before dinner and would be wanting another!  Ended the night with 1277 calories.

Still having issues with my back - I thought it was better yesterday after zumba - but once i bent over to pick up my phone I felt it pop again and no it is almost too sore to move or turn or twist or god forbid if I have to turn over in bed...ouch! No zumba today.

B: yogurt, iced vanilla latte

S: protein breakfast bar

L: 1/2 peanut butter sandwich, apple, 1/2 banana

S: balanced breaks

D: - rotisserie chicken (this was supposed to be last night)

Feeling a little better after lunch, I might try some form of exercise. Total 10 pounds lost in the month of January - this is good for me, will continue the journey.

10lbs is quite a loss. well done, InnerPeace! Be proud. I don't think i've EVER lost that much in one month. You rock.

I'm really proud of you and you continue to be my inspiration here! along with the others of course!

Good deal with your car sales. He better pay up! and $50 payments is a decent amount that i'm sure he can keep up with.

I pay my mom $95/mo. for car payments for insurance. i'm still on theirs - and i'm 34 yrs old. lucky gal i am!

I am sorry about your back pain. Maybe bath salts? The Epsom salt i mean, if you look it up first of course? Also you may need to just relax more...so sorry you aren't feeling great.

Don't let the doctor discourage you because you have been doing not good, but GREAT, on your goals and lifestyle changes. Do NOT fall through the cracks and stop all the good you have implemented in your life :-D

Back still tender

DH and I went out to eat last night - didn't make it a month but it was a mutual decision. I ate a prime rib hoagie, French fries and cottage cheese- ended the night with 1474 calories.

Up last night for about 1 1/2 hours, up at 6:00 with DH and then I finally got up around 9:30 felt so groggy. Bummed around the house and finally decided to clean out my car and found $10. Spent the morning texting DHs son about the car...

B: toast, peanut butter, iced vanilla latte

L: goldfish crackers

D: bacon and eggs toast

I ended the day with 1385 calories.

InnerPeace - Friday Jan 27, 2017

Yesterday was hectic and of course nothing ever goes as planned. I left work at 12:45, I drove to my VA appointment and was there at 1:40ish (appointment at 2:00). I was checked in and then told that the person who missed her a.m. appointment had just arrived and she would be seen first. So I'm stuck in a room...and I nod off because - comfort, dim lighting, after lunch = nap time! I may have dozed for 20 minutes when I decided to start playing with my phone.  DH and I were working with the loan officer in OKC to get the loan for the new car. Wouldn't you know as soon as I picked up that phone, in walks the doctor. (I should have picked it up sooner - but...nap)!

Weight was higher with clothes and shoes on than when I weigh at home naked out of the shower - this discouraged me! The dr. also was concerned about the A1C...again? I have been eating so good, again so discouraged! She started talking about colonoscopies and menopause because...almost 50! She wants to see me back in 6 months...oh well I can do great things in six months!

I had intentions of going to the insurance office to check on step-son's insurance price for when he takes my car and insurance for the new car, but because I didn't leave the appointment until 3:10 that wasn't a possibility because my dog Steve had his appointment at 4:00 to get his third shot, so rushed home and picked him up and he's like - no I'm not getting back in the car and didn't go so nicely - he is worse than a kid sometimes.

After he got his shot I was going to pick up the girl and no one was home. I texted the POS and she said they were dropping the other girl off at the bowling alley and had lost track of time - they were on their way. So while I was waiting I called the insurance (they close at 5:00 - and it is now after 4:00). Sticker shock for insurance for this 18 year old kid who just received his license - OMG! $129.00 per month for liability only...holy cow!

Finally the girl shows up and we go home - DH walks in about ten minutes later and we cook the dinner.

Air fried chicken, baby potatoes and salad - it was very good. I ended the night with 1280 calories. I spent the next two hours helping the girl with periodical table homework and social studies and did not even think about my journal entry until this morning.

I did not get up for zumba this morning - because partly still discouraged with doctor and I was so warm and snugly and I just didn't want to and I let my fitbit battery drain again - not missing steps. I may do it this evening or just take the day off.  (My fitbit used to last about a week before needed charged, now I think it is down to three days - I'll have to monitor this better)

S: honey and peanut butter crackers

L: roast beef, cream cheese wrap

S: string cheese

D: no clue

On the way to work it was 32 degrees with snow flurries - as we were pulling out of our housing addition - I see a boy waiting on the school bus with shorts on. I made the comment - OMG I can't believe his parents let him out of the house with shorts on - what's wrong with people these days? And DH replies with....how is that any different than a dress? Touche DH...touche! Girls wear dresses in all kinds of weather.

I have lots of things planned this weekend, depending on weather.

We should get new car - next Monday or Tuesday depending on when dealer gets the check from the credit union.

YOU CAN DO GREAT THINGS IN 6 months! That's a ton of time. do NOT get discouraged. please keep doing what you are doing, you are doing very, very well.

excellent cals and healthy eating. always know you can bulk up on veggies when you are hungry!

i need to cook more of my own meats and can't wait to start roasting veggies. i got a new tray and silicon top just for roasting!

DH and I picked up the girl and they dropped me off. DH took the girl to her therapist appointment. I think it went pretty good. DH called and had the therapist on the phone, she asked me what my concerns were. I told her I feel the girl is being bullied at her mom's house. Now come to find out, they forbid her to talk to her brother on facebook. That is just so bullish to me!  I told her I feel she has to act differently depending on whose house she was at and I just thought she was confused a little and felt she needed an outside person to talk to. Between DH and the mother - I do feel I spend more one on one time with the girl than either of those two do. After dinner I asked the girl if she was ok talking to her and if she felt comfortable, she said yes and will go back. I was happy about that. I told her if at any point she felt she didn't have anything else to say and felt better about the situation, she didn't have to go anymore. I just want her to turn out to be a well rounded individual.

I made a pizza with the cauliflower crust, it didn't hold together as well as I wanted it to, but it still tasted nice. I made a pizza with a canned crust as well if the cauliflower one didn't taste good. It did. They were topped with pepporoni, ground turkey, onions, bell pepper, mushrooms, spinach and cheese - pretty cool way to eat pizza. I ended the night with 1309 calories.

I slept OK last night, but had a hard time getting up this morning. Only did zumba for the 20 minutes express instead of the 40 I've been doing...so sleepy...4:30 comes way too fast.

B: yogurt, iced vanilla latte

S: apple

L: left over cauliflower pizza, honey mustard pretzels

S: orange, string cheese

D: something with pork DH took out

Tomorrow is the VA appointment - I feel OK, hate, HATE getting on the scale, but I will.

After work DH and I went and talked to a guy about a car. i can't believe how much new cars costs these days. It's a daunting experience to say the least. I want what I want, don't try to talk me into something you need to sell...@sshat sales people! We will see what happens.

Got home and DH air fried some chicken, and we ate the new riced vegetables (califlower and sweet potatoes - these are awesome for 80 calories) and a salad. I had a yogurt after dinner for dessert. It was raining so Steve didn't get to go for his walk, I don't think he is up to it yet anyway. Ended the day with 1257 calories. Love this!

Went to sleep about 9:45 and again was up way too early. I hear things and DH snores and I just lay there waiting. Finally my alarm goes off at 4:40 and I turn it off, and I think I hear my patio door opening. My dog is barking but not a mean-I'll-bit-your-head off bark. I kept lying there trying to hear if something weird or different. It took me a few minutes to get downstairs. Did the zumba, drank a cup of green tea then headed back upstairs for the shower.

B: yogurt (100 calories) , iced vanilla latte (163 calories)

S: breakfast protein bar (170 calories)

L: wrap with left over chicken (277) appled (95 calories) honey mustard pretzels

S: balanced breaks 190

D: pizza with califlower bread and ground turkey cheese and pizza stuff

DH and the girl are going to the therapist office, will see how that turns out - I reminded the girl Sunday, she didn't seem to enthused.

Work is very slow today, goes from one extreme to the other - or it could be a typical Tuesday.

My work has been really slow too, but i am not sorry about it. It's good to be able to show up & be paid for my time in this office no matter how slow or fast, you know?

I spend the time, luckily, online & reading articles and sites and keeping my mind active. The internet is a blessing for us in office jobs!

I guess it depends on the car. When i get a new car, it may not be american, but either way, it's not going to be a pricey jeep or something like that - because they aren't in my price range. Cars are expensive, but, get a cheaper model / brand and you'll save a ton. They still have lots of safety requirements and stuff to pass so i feel that getting a cheaper car over a more expensive car in order to save money is totally worth it. unless a person has tons of $$$ to splurge on something better with, than by all means...!

how do u rice a sweet potato? i had only heard of that last night from someone's post on facebook....is it the same, just use a blender? so healthy girlfriend! you are eating better than me these days!

what kind of yogurts do you have, Greek? either way, excellent 100 cal snack after your dinner. healthy, low cal. I have been doing this with my low cal ice cream. moderation, not the whole darn pint anymore. :-D

maybe talk the girl up about therapy and why and that you want the best for her and that you realize she is having a tough living situation or maybe that's the wrong word - tough - but that you want her to have everything and the best of everything and that you want her to be very successful always in life...and want her to speak to someone besides you... <3 good luck and let us know..
