Weight: 311.9

Yesterday I left the house before DH and the girl got home. I again didn't go to the gym but to the park. I walked as far as I could, sat a minute and then walked back to my car - it was almost 2 miles. The park closes at sunset, so i was rushing to get back. I saw several deer, it was quiet and pleasant and I should do this more often.

I get home and eat the delicious dinner my DH has prepared - I say this in sarcasm because he said he 'didn't feel like cooking' WTH - well I didn't feel like 'going to the gym" either. He buys Burger King! - Still haven't told him about the gym thing. I will after it is over. I like walking better though.

D: 1/2 whopper, NO fries, DDP

It's great how I woke up with no body pain, this is the third day in a row - so this makes me happy.

B: FAGE yogurt - iced vanilla latte

S: protein bar

L: 1/2 turkey pastrami sandwich, cheezits

S: balanced breaks

D: TBD - the chicken is thawed from last night it may or may not get cooked.

I am looking forward to taking my dog for walk - he loves it - me I may start to love it.

Weekend looks pretty busy with the girl. Play in Barberton, OH on Saturday and then there is a Autumn Bag Lady Tour we are thinking about and somewhere, somehow grocery shopping and laundry.

Have a great evening. IP

Progress as of today: 9.7 lbs lost so far, only 101.9 lbs to go!

I am so happy you are doing an activity that you enjoy. Walking is great for your health. I remember when i was jogging tons. Boy do i miss it. Getting back into it though, little by little. Still I tend to walk around 1.5 miles i think usually when i do? You are doing awesome!

Keep on walking. Paying for the gym was good for you because you ended up realizing that you enjoy the park!

not too bad on dinner, good you had the drink to fill you up...that's a good idea...to eat a little, then sip the drink till your stomach is content!

if you don't feel like cooking, you can do chinese food...some meat and veggie dishes even! sauce on side even or get the normal dishes and get extra steamed veggies with it? you don't HAVE to cook to eat veggies. this is how i do it....sometimes $$$ though.

hollybelle on 10/13/2016:
Good for you again walking in the park. That is what I do - we are lucky enough to have several city parks with walking tracks of varying distances in our two and three are within short driving distance of me - on is within walking distance. We wee deer and other animals all the time. We even have some coyote! We have seen wild turkey - all kinds of birds, too. It can be very peaceful and relaxing. You may find your true "InnerPeace" there.

Weight: 311.9

Tuesday night got home. I had a dental appointment, which wasn't too bad this time. My hygenist cleans my teeth with high powered water spray. This is only the third or fourth time I have had this done. It still feels uncomfortable but I like the fact that it doesn't take very long. No cavities so all is good. Floss people!

I get home and DH has cooked the kilbasa and sourkraut, my house spelled just awful. I ate some but I thought the sourkraut was just really super sour. I walked the dog and got all the way around the block and no back pain! OMG this amazes me.

Tonight the girl is over, however, since I'm not technically going to class - I will go walk in the park and/or do cardio at the Y, I will only have to see her a short time. She can spend that good quality time with DH. DH strongly encourages the class, he just doesn't want to waste the money I spent on it.

Here are a few shots of my shelf I finished over the weekend, oh and I did go to a book folding class on Saturday, the pumpkin is my first attempt. I will try something else in a week or two.

B: FAGE maple yogurt with granola, iced vanilla latte

s: protein bar

L: 1/2 turkey pastrami sandwich, cheezits, banana

S: balanced breaks

D: chicken was out, I'm not sure

The shelf is painted with chalk paint - first time I've tried this (and I messed up my firefly stencil. It is in the spare room - no one ever uses.

Progress as of today: 9.7 lbs lost so far, only 101.9 lbs to go!

Horn_of_plenty on 10/12/2016:
Very nice job on the shelves way to go! I'm glad you didn't have any pain on the walk...and that you are walking instead of the class. It just matters that you keep moving, class or no class...and that you enjoy it! Go you!

Fully impressed with that shelf!

InnerPeace - Tuesday Oct 11, 2016

Weight: 311.9

Well let's say in the last five days I have done things, just not truthful about them.

Wednesday - I meant to go to class - but I just feel that it is too hard for me (even with modifications) I am just really out of shape and i feel my back holds me back from even bending over at times. So I told DH I was going to class, but instead I went to the park and walked. At first I just sat in my car and read a book, but then decided to get out and walk, it was a very pleasant day.

Thursday - scrambled at work for people still leaving to help with Hurricane Matthew - they departed - was hoping at the time things wouldn't get too bad. One girl kiinda misrepresented herself and cause major havoc.

Friday - I took the day off from work. I had things planned, but alas, these never come to fruition, sometimes the brain just needs to rest.

Saturday - Again, i told DH I was going to class, however, I just went to the park again. Walked about 1 1/2 mile before my back acted up. Went home and started to work on my shelf, watched football, cooked dinner.

Sunday - went grocery shopping with DH, hung out at the house.

Monday - Columbus Day - DH went to work, another day at home, finally finished the shelf -I'm pretty satisfied with it. Will post pictures tomorrow as I forgot my phone at work today. Ran some errands I was on a mission to find FAGE yogurt. I find the greek yogurt to not be so bitter or sour or strong, however, you describe greek yogurt. And I just love the maple flavored flip. i found them at a different store than we go to. There were only three or four flavors at Wal-Mart that I didn't care for. This morning I had a carrot ginger flavored with pistacios - it was so good.

Tuesday - work again. Dumb lady knew on Wednesday last week when i was making her travel arrangements she wanted to be home on Sunday. She kept telling me I don't know how long I will need tos tay in NC, so I purchased her a one way ticket. However, her underlying agenda was to be home on Sunday, regardless of helping, because she had tickets to the football game between NE Patriots and CLE Browns. So she calls my boss Saturday night whining and cying that she was stranded and needed to get home. WTF?? Anyway, boss was peeved that she was stranded and couldn't get her back on that day, so he amended her travel orders and she arrived home Sunday around midnight! Though she didn't make it to the game, members of her family did. This is not the issue - I don't care about the game. I care that she misrepresented herself and could have said she wanted to come back on Sunday instead of saying she didn't know when. So she got back from NC only to go back today...this is what angered me! What a waste of time and money! Sometimes I just want to strangle people.

Been eating better at home because DH got lectured about his blood sugar levels at his doctor's appointment. Not he is all gung ho about eating right. I hope this lasts awhile. He does have another appointment for his knee on the 20th.

Tonight, I will go to the semiannual dentist appointment and see what's going on there! Should be good as I have been flossing alot!

B: Fage carrot ginger pistacio flip. iced vanilla latte

L: 1/2 turkey sandwich, cheezits,

S: breakfast protein bar - balanced breaks

D: sourkraut and kilbasa - I think.

have a great night!

Progress as of today: 9.7 lbs lost so far, only 101.9 lbs to go!

hollybelle on 10/11/2016:
I am so proud of you for walking instead of just reading - as far as class-what DH doesn't know won't hurt him. Would he be upset if he knew you didn't want to go?

Horn_of_plenty on 10/12/2016:
Wednesday - a walk at the park sounds great! Nothing to be ashamed about skipping a class that you don't like. If i don't like something, i don't continue either!

Friday - it's ok. we all need rest days here and there. i hope you were able to relax a bit.

Saturday - sounds like a nice walk. Good to stop if you have any pain. Maybe see if you can look up some back stretches. I do happen to know a good one - if you want me to try to google you a video of it?

Sounds like you had something better than greek yogurt or is it the new yogurt dips flavors? Sounds like you might have had the Icelandic Skyr yogurt? Those are GREAT. Lower sugar than Fage...also maybe at walmart and usually at Target.

If you eat better...he will eat better. if you buy less junk food or substitute it with lower cal options - even my fave sugar free jello and you can even put strawberries into it after you pour it in a bowl, fruit is so nice in the sugar free jello!...you can eat so many things that will be just as good as the higher sugar stuff...and still be full. If you have the options at home, it will make it easier.

the best advice i can give, is to always have veggies around...you can make a meal and instead of putting it on top of pasta, but it over cabbage? just substitute the healthier for the less healthy...and still eat a lot! :)

Weight: 311.9

Well the last three days have been very hectic - but I think the worst is over. The new fiscal year is upon us and trust when I say, it was a very large undertaking to get all the financial coding changed! And I've still been dealing with the property stuff, which still isn't fixed, but that is coming along slowly.

Saturday I got up and went to my class - OMG it was hard and then she took our weight and measurements and then OMG again! The girl was with me and there is a family room. We are supposed to do at least 15 minutes of warm up prior to class and I had the girl in the room with me and she wouldn't do anything. She wouldn't even get on the recumbant bike - that isn't asking too much of her - she is almost 200 pounds - but it was like she would die of embarrassment or something. I was just trying to get her to move, but she wouldn't so she took the phone and sat in the lobby until I was finished. This angered me! On the way home I had to stop at Wal-Mart to get stuff to make Chili for work, she had to have some kind of special marker for school and conditioner which she ran and got. When we get home, she just runs in the house. Didn't worry about the bags in the car that needed to be taken in the house, she has no care in the world. It would be obvious to me to offer to help someone carrying in bags of groceries, but I guess this is old school. (bags of groceries to make chili - If DH would have said he didn't want to go shopping I could have done the shopping for home as well - but NO)

I purchased some arborio rice and wanted to try to make a risotto. It turned out OK, I could have cooked it longer, and I added some shredded chicken - it was ok, the girl didn't like it, so DH ordered her pizza. This was the original plan anyway, I just wanted to try the risotto.

Football was watched, we did stuff around the house it was just a lazy Saturday with my sore body.

Sunday laundry off course - DH didn't feel like shopping so he sat around all day - dreaming of building shelves in the basement. The girl left at noon, which I was happy about. DH made a lasagna type dish and we ate that and salad.

Monday we had left over lasagna and green beans. We went to an adult coloring class which was kinda fun and relaxing. And then I put together the chili for the chili cook off at work - I came in 2nd!

Tuesday we pick up the girl and stop by the library to pick up their craft project from last Wednesday. And then DH decides he wants to eat steak at LoneStare at the spur of the moment so we eat steak, baked potato and salad (I did). We ate numerous dinner rolls! Big mistake. We get the girl home, they shower and I help her with her homework, then she leaves and I'm happy again.

Tonight is class again and we really need to go grocery shopping.

Hopefully work has settled down - or it will after the hurricane Matthew gets out of the way. We are sending people down to assist the weather office's in the area. Big Mess I hope everyone heeds the warnings, better be safe than sorry!

Have a great day!

Adult coloring class? I do adult coloring books, but never heard of a class. Interesting.

innerpeace on 10/11/2016:
It was at the library. They furnished the pictures and crayons, markers, pens, pencils, had music and candy kisses. It was nice. Lots of older women, myself and I made DH go, he was the only guy.

hollybelle on 10/05/2016:
Sad girl wouldn't try the bike. She may be embarrassed, especially if she is self-conscience about her weight. What would happen if you asked her to come back and help with the grocery bags?

innerpeace on 10/11/2016:
Attitude probably. I will ask next time and see how she takes its.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 10/05/2016:
Hello Inner!

Sounds like you are getting it done & that you have your ships aligned nicely and it will work out for you in the end at work.

A big congrats to you on a job well done at work! I have always loved the feeling of accomplishment when working tirelessly or rather just putting the good efforts in. Such a good feeling when it’s over & completed and that achievement that comes with it.

Tell the girl that it’s good for her and make sure you praise her a lot for even her littlest effort. Lil Girl is at a very tough time of her life. And she will either become better with it – or destructive. I do believe with you as her guardian it is so good for her and helpful.

Try to be that role model & get her to join you. I think in general she should participate. Explain to her that little by little she will get stronger. If the girl doesn’t realize on her own that you need her help with the groceries, you are going to have to ask her (nicely). Have her help you – teach her to assist you without you asking every time.

I think that if the girl and hubby don’t like – they shouldn’t be allowed an alternative really…you should all eat what you worked on, I think?

It’s def ok to rest. Rest is very necessary in a fitness program. You can put anything on a salad, even top it with the lasagna to make the lasagna more filling…that’s what I do. I eat anything and everything with veggies to fill me up volume-wise. Enjoy your class tonight.

I have never been so happy for Friday afternoon to get here. I have completely messed up some property stuff at work and I have had to do it over three times. I am sick of it! No one in my office can help me, they don't know how to do it, so it is all learned by trial and error, well more error than anything. So, so frusterating.

B: toast, iced vanilla latte

S: protein bar

L: peanut butter and crackers, cheezits

D: I have no idea

Class tomorrow and a few book sales and then I get to watch football! That is my most favorite thing ever.

We all make mistakes. How you get out of it...and try not to let it totally ruin this new week for you...is the important thing. life is full of mistakes. hopefully this makes you aware for the next time. You are a beautiful person :)

Note to self: Do not schedule library events for the girl on Y days.

Picked up DH and then the girl. Then they dropped me off a the Y and went to the library activity (Awesome Autumn) I had scheduled for them. I started with the ellypitcal (we were told to warm up about 15-20 minutes prior to class). Before class the instructor told us one of the girls would not be there because she had quit. I had mentioned that I thought about quitting too because I felt I was not at there fitness level and my back issues. The instructor told me not to quit that she would help me and that I should have told her about my back issues. The other girls standing there also told me not to worry about what they do and to just do what I could. This was very helpful and made the class better. We did some weight exercises and some cardio. (This is more than I have done in a long, long time) But still I just couldn't NOT feel disappointed - it is hard to think about what I could do versus what I can't do now. I will stay in the class and do my best. - The goal of the class this week was to ditch the diet soda and sugary drinks for clear liquids...yeah didn't even start the day off right with my iced vanilla latte - a dear, sweet habit!

DH and the girl came back to get me at 7:15 and we still hadn't ate dinner. So we stop at Subway and get the $3.50 subs - Wednesday is Turkey Breast day. We got home with enough time for the girl to eat and shower and then she was gone. We will get her again on Friday night.

B: toast, iced vanilla latte

S: protein break fast bar

L: 1/2 turkey sub, cheezits

D: something with chicken

Next class is Saturday  morning - I will have the girl.

Have a great evening! IP

Horn_Of_Plenty on 09/29/2016:
You do not have to make all the changes at once. Take the instructor’s advice with a grain of salt in terms of what you should vs. shouldn’t do in your habits and lifestyle. Change doesn’t happen in one day. Instead of your latte, you can have a regular coffee or have a latte but make it with skim milk. Or have a coffee make with regular milk (just less milk). Try for small changes. I do not agree that all diet things need to be ditched. I do like my diet drinks. Having diet tonic today. Zero calories & a really nice change of pace on the flavor. I think I will now drink it sometimes! Can’t believe it took me till 34yrs old to really delve into tonic water. Sometimes you just need a change, ya know!? It’s diet…so I’m doing it more for the fun flavor.

Don’t ditch your latte, just make better choices. If you are used to drinking it, start to try drinking something better. You can sweeten it with equal. Don’t eat less, eat better.

Those $3.50 subs are awesome right!? It’s not a lot of veggies…but you can ask for extra.

Also, what grade is the little girl in this year at school? 7th? Is she doing better this year than last year? Is she healthy again?? Lice free? There was an article online recently about lice becoming harder to kill.

innerpeace on 09/30/2016:
I will try, I was drinking it once or twice a week, as we don't have it around here. My mom has sent me some twice from Oklahoma. I don't drink coffee. I'm a tea or diet dr. pepper person.

The girl is in 6th grade, she is healthy now. She still has lice. i can treat it every time she comes to my house, but if her mother does nothing, than I am wasting my time. She comes over and tells me stories that her mom did this and her mom did that. I asked if her mom did her hair, she says no. i told her I didn't want to know what her mother was or was NOT doing. Everyday we pick her up, I ask how her head is, does it itch, she says NO. Last weekend when we were at Kalahari I was looking through her hair and she has nits...well if there are nits there are lice. I'm sick of doing her hair and wasting my time, if her mother refuses to do anything. This is not my child! My DH is going to have to take it up with her piece of sh1t mother or with a lawyer, it just stresses me out so much.

hollybelle on 09/30/2016:
I am glad you talked to the instructor, it sounds like she was helpful, at least. Remember, everyone in that class started somewhere. Hang in I'll bet it will get better. I had been fighting disappointment and disgust with myself because 3 years ago I could ride my bike 40+ miles and walk miles and miles and never bat an eye. But 3 years of practically no activity took it's toll. Not only did I gain weight, I lost a lot of physical ability. But it's been one month now and I have been surprised how much is beginning come back to me. I am starting to concentrate on what I can do and just keep doing what I can. Yay for us!

Tuesday I decided not to long on and post - just because.

B: maple, brown sugar mini wheats, milk, iced tea

L: 1/2 roast beef sandiwich, provolone cheese, banana, cheezits

S: motts fruit gummies

D: hamburger (no cheese), ore ida French Fries

Raining a little, didn't even walk the dog.

Wow.I am lazy - that is all.

Wednesday

Tonight is the second night of my class. I was telling DH this morning on the way to work that I think it is too advanced for me. The flyer said it was for people of all levels of fitness, but I'm feeling the others in the class make it all about them and so the trainer, of course, caters to their level. I will go and do my best, this is all I can do. But now I feel i am stressing about it = not fun.

I registered for an Awesome Autumn event at the library. DH is dropping me off at the Y and he is oging to get the girl and they are going to go to the library even, I will stay and try to do the class.

Work is crap, it is the end of the fiscal year and all my accounting codes are changing and this is hassle. I have been sleeping better so that is a plus. Food is meh.

B: blue berry bagel with cream cheese, iced vanilla latte

L: roast beef sandwhich, provolone cheese, cheezits, banana

D: 1/2 subway sandwich

And today is my fur baby's 3rd birthday...love him so much!

Sorry you aren't enjoying the class. Good instructors teach to the middle and show modifications for all levels - easier modifications and harder modifications, in other words. I taught aerobics for 14 years and that is how I always did it.

Friday - we did have the turkey burger, it was quite good.

Saturday DH was up to go to work, my second class was rescheduled so I sat around the house. I tried to get motivated but could not. I waited until DH got home about 2:30 because I didn't know if he would want to go to the festival or not. He did. We drove about 1 1/2 hours south to go to the mum fesitval, it was very pretty and a beautiful day. The great mums and also i was impressed with melon fruit art.

B: toast, peanut butter, iced vanilla latte

L: no lunch

D: baked penne with chicken and mushrooms, salad, 1/2 piece of pumpkin cheese cake

Sunday I was up early to start laundry. We were going to go east to a Grape Jamboree and DH made arrangements to get the girl to take with us. This wasn't our weekend but he traded time today for time next Sunday, we will see how this works out in the end. They were cordial which is a big plus.

B: blue berry bagle, cream cheese, iced vanilla latte

L: 1/3 gyro, a few fried vegetables (zucchini, cauliflower & broccoli)

D: sandwich from the deli, turkey and cheese and somehow black olives found there way onto my sandwich I had to pick them off...I despise blace olives.

The girl left about 4:30 and DH went shopping while I finished the laundry. We had a very busy and fun weekend. Got in lots of steps.

Here is a picture from the Grape Jamboree.

Very happy that my back acted right while we were out and about, today though it is very tight. I can't say if its from all the walking or from the rainy weather we are having this morning. Cold, dampness is not a good thing. Hello Fall.

B: blue berry bagle with cream cheese, iced vanilla latte

S: break protein bar

L: 1/2 roast beef sandwich, cheezits, banana, string cheese

D: DH put a pot roast in the crock pot to make French Dip sandwiches for dinner

Picked up DH and the girl, didn't make it home for dinner. Instead we stopped at BBW. The first time we have been there. i had two soft tacos with chicken, it was pretty good. Got home and helped the girl with her homework and then DH took her home because the mom asked him if he would.  He said he would if we could pick her up on Sunday to go to the Grape Jamboree in Geneva Ohio. It is about 1.5 hour drive away.

While he took her home, I tried to walk again, OMG, I can't believe how much my back is hurting. i took a Tylenol before bed and that helped alot.

B: bagel with cream cheese, iced vanilla latte

L: peanut butter sandwich, cheezits, banana

S: gummy fruit

D: turkey burgers

DH said he was working until noon on Saturday and then we are supposed to go to Barberton, Ohio to look at a Mum festival. I like flowers. We have a full weekend.

I agree with Donkey...try to rest your back a bit. try not too overdo. Also, maybe you can get a heating pad?

I love peanut butter too...omg.

Turkey burgers are healthy. you can even have it out of the bun on tons of veggies, and eat the bun just toasted as a side :) i like that. or eat it normally, with a lot of cooked & seasoned veggies! healthy.

Went to my YMCA class last night, I think I will like it. I know I found out that I am very much out of shape. Our instructor gave us an assessment - 1 mile walk, plank, pushups, flexibility (extention test)...my walk sucked...I need to do this in the morning when my back feels fresh and doesn't hurt as much. I think i walked a mile in 15:48 - OMG I was running two miles in this time when I was in the military. I felt so disappointed - I feel so disappointed. I will walk more. Not too concerned that I did not hold up the plank very long, as I am fat and fat is heavy, but I did my best and this is a starting point. There are five other women who may or maynot be helpful.

D: roast pork loin, green beans and a cous cous mixture with vegetables

Next class is next Wednesday - Saturday class was already rescheduled do to a conflict of something or other.

B: maple, brown sugar frost mini wheats, iced tea, 2% milk

S: protein bar (mixed fruit, almonds)

L: 1/2 roast beef sandwich, provolone cheese, cheezits, 1/2 banana (the other half was too bruised)

S: string cheese

D: spaghetti with turkey

I will walk a mile tonight, doubt I will take the dog (DH or the girl can take him) I will make a good mile...if it kills me!

Work was OK today, kinda busy with stuff I don't like to do. New fiscal year is coming and things need to be rotated around and stuff.

Have a great evning!

Has anyone noticed the quirky little messages at the bottom of the goole search box? I see them out of the bottom of my eye but when I go back to look they are gone.

Progress as of today: 9.7 lbs lost so far, only 101.9 lbs to go!

Sounds like a good day.

I think 15-16 minute mile is OK. Fitness sites say that moderate speeds for walking are 17-20 minutes. Don't be so hard o yourself. Try to look forward and not backward - I can't do things I did 4-5 years ago, but I can do what I can today. I can't let the fact that can't do what I did back then stop me from what I can do today. Keep it up, IP!

Little by little you will get stronger & fitter again. Do what you can for you & don't compare yourself to others. :)

Also, you were in the military!? so cool! I really support out guys (and gals) out there for the hard work and training they do.
