Started off at 3:00 this monring UGH!

Flight from Long Island was on time, but a plane delay in Baltimore got me home today after noon. I was so happy to get home. It was a hard trip on this old body . I don't think I slept too well the entire time I was gone. I got home, ate a sandwich for lunch and fell promptly asleep. My dog was very happy to see me.

M: very stressed because...I'm fat and airplane seats are not for fat people. I did fit in the seat and need about another inch before I won't need a seat belt extender.

T: went to eat at Applebee's with five other people. Booths and fat people do no go well together. I squeezed into this booth and by boobs were sitting on the table. so I had to squish them down too. Totally disguested with myself at this point. I  went downtown to sight see and did surprisingly well with all the walking, I didn't have the best walking shoes on but I survived. We went to The Hardrock Cafe, again booths and fat people. I was with three others and I just said, I can't sit in that booth, please move me to a table. Again, very stressful and eye opening and depressing all at the same time. Yet all these feelings do little to help, aide, assist in actually eating the right things.

W. Went to eat with four people, but requested a table up front. I am so tired I have a strawberry daqueri hoping this will help me sleep a little better. Again was not happy with the food. My chicken was dry and the pasta was overcooked. Come on this was supposed to be an authentic Italian restaurante...guess the cook was out!

T: Again, flying and being fat, at this point I'm  just glad no one had to sit in the middle seat. Oh I fit mind you, but the person who sits in the middle has a hard time moving around without touching me and I know it makes one uncomfortable, but was glad no one had to sit next to me. I would say the trip was a success. I learned quite a bit to help me do my job better and I met a lot of awesome and pretty great people to say the least, and I am happy I went, despite all my stressful situations.

F: My DH has his knee procedure, we need to be at the hospital by 8:20 and I hope all goes well for him and he heals quickly.

B: fruit and nut protein bar

S: honey almond protein bar

L: asiago bread, turkey, swiss cheese

S: popcorn

D: baked chicken, rice, kale salad

finished the day with 1306 calories, which I am very happy about.

I will leave you with the Freedom Tower and Elmo in Times Square!

Have my iPad packed away and typing on this phone really blows. I finished the day with 1583 calories and trust when I say I am more than ready to go back to O hi O! Long day of training.

B: fruit and nut bar 3 short bread cookies L: cheese it crackers and protein bar D: broccoli, sun dried tomatoes, baked chicken, some pasta.

Flight leaves at 6:00 - I am ready. Talk to y'all from ohio...peace!

Go to the city they said. You'll have fun they said. I thought about it and said oh no I want to watch the O.J. Movie. My DH says you should go cause this might be the only chance you get. Ok! It is 12:50 and I just got in to the hotel room. Saw the 9/11 memorial, Empire State Building, got cussed at. Road in a cab, saw the Statue of Liberty and went to Times Square..Walked my ass of girl wanted to shop and shop and shop (I don't shop)! We left her at Macy's and went to eat at Hard Rock Cafe..id rather had Bubba Gump but was out voted! Had a pulled pork sandwich ate 1/2 of it because it sucked!

Had a bagel for breakfast and tomato soup and Thai shrimp from Applebee's- that's another complaint! So far I haven't been impressed with any food I've eaten! I ate a box of Reese's pieces which I enjoyed immensely! Bought hoodies and souvenirs! Miss my DH and dog! I'll

1432 calories today.

Wow! So did you like the city? I hope it was nice! It’s so different than practically anywhere else on earth! Even for me, living in Queens, the city is such an exciting change of pace for me when I go. Nothing like it. I am lucky, I have friends who LIVE there. So I actually have people to meet there when I do go. There’s a 9/11 museum that I hope to also go to. Haven’t been there yet although I have been to the 9/11 area, since my friends live around there, multiple times. The food you are eating is from chain restaurants. Nothing special. If youwere to eat at a more wholesame, not a chain, type of place, I think you’d be more impressed. Well, despite the cruddy food, you have nice calories. Enjoy your time in the city that never sleeps. And Bohemia, right? You are stationed in Suffolk County, Long Island, right? Any questions about Long Island as a whole, ask me general stuff if you need to. I was brought up on LI. Lucky you, the weather is so warm compared with usual February temps.

In short, flying sucks regardless of your size! Was up at 3:15 to shower and get to the airport by 4:15 good thing too because it seemed like everyone was leaving Cleveland this morning and long lines from hell getting through security. Flight started boarding at 5:30.

I was stressing big time but asked for a seat belt extender anyway! Needed it by about an inch! I was in Baltimore at 6:40 where I stayed until 10:30. I did meet up with a coworker from Pittsburgh and we sat and ate breakfast. I had a egg, bacon English muffin...and we waited. There were five others on the flight to Long Island but we didn't go and ask everyone their name. We did find one other lady from Sterling,VA. We found the rest once we landed.

They took us to a pizza restaurant for lunch I had 1/2 a tomato, arugula and mozzarella sandwich. After just about fell asleep in the afternoon training. We were released at 4:00. Came back to the hotel and crashed. Had a pulled pork salad with avocados it was pretty good.

Wasn't happy with the calorie count 1956! What the what? Not a good way to start the month but neither is being away from home.

Tomorrow they said something about sightseeing...we will see.

Training starts early at 7:30 long full days!

Ran all over town today. My budget conscience husgand, I love him so much, we went to four different stores because each had different sales on stuff he wanted. We still spents lots of money though. And I have issues with paying Sam's club membership money to spend more money in that store, but DH is adament that he gets our money's worth throughout the year. He does most of the shopping so I'll just leave that alone!

I walked my dog! It was very humid and windy today, but totally doable! He sure enjoyed being outside, not that he can't go out anytime he wants (using his doggy door0 he is just nosy and wants to see everything in the neighborhood.

B: two pieces of whole grain toast

L: pizza from Sam's club

D: quinoa/wild rice mix, kale salad and shrimp scampi

S: iced vanilla latte - finally got some milk

Total calories for the day 1875, thanks to the pizza!

I've also had issues with my stomach today, I am attributing this to my trip tomorrow! I am all packed and ready to go I just really don't want to go! I will pull up my big girl pants and do what needs to be done. Flight leaves at 6:00, so we will be up long before the sun! I am scheduled to be in a meeting at 12:30 so tomorrow is going to be hella long!

I am cool with January! I finished off January 6 pounds less. I changed my eating habits and am hoping with the added exercise in February I will be able to drop some more weight. I just need to get through the first week, as I hate being in any kind of pain!

I posted everyday in the month of January - created my good habit!

Only went over my calories maybe three times.

If your calories are at 1875 for sure, then you are on track. That’s good calories for weight loss. Your husband sounds like he’s great with $. I am sure he saves a lot. For me, I am more concerned with convenience. I do what is most convenient for me in general. I do run around food shopping because I have favorite foods in different places but all relatively close to my apartment. As long as his running around is not a pain, it sounds smart to me! Yeah, because Sam’s Club is a bulk item wholesale place, everything adds up. If I had a family (or at least 2 people shopping together), I’d see it as worthwhile to go there. Wholesale items will last a long time because you buy so much at most. But of course buying wholesale is expensive whenever you go bc you are buying so much. It’s not useful for me because I only am buying for one person, myself. And too pricey. Your dinner sounds really good. I love kale salads! Did you buy it at Sam’s Club? My parents once bought a salad mix from Costco but I wasn’t very fond of it – too much added sugar (in the dressing) in my opinion.

We ate at the chinese buffee. DAMNIT! I ate lots of vegetables and chicken. I was doing OK, but had moose tracks ice cream for dessert. Ending the night with 1898 calories.

Came home and did about 25 minutes of the zumba, I think this is a bit advanced for me, I think I will go back to the WATP DVDs until I can move around better.

Went to bed about 10:30 but was back up at 12:45, fell asleep in the recliner until 4:15 and then went back to bed.

Alarm woke me up at 5:00, DH finially got up and out the door by 5:45, I didn't get up but was awake. I slept then until a wretched headache woke me up at 8:30. I went down stairs and ACK there is no milk, so no iced vanilla latte! I had toast for breakfast

It took me awhle to think about getting out of the house, I left at noon. I went to the library for the used book sale. DIdn't find anything I was looking for so headed out to k-mart. I was looking for something new, to take to NY with me, didn't have anything on my mind. I picked up two sweaters, a shirt and a pair of slacks and a new bra. I also picked up a few groceries as I had a taste for goulash.

Got back home and called my mom for the recipe and got the scoop on my sister and all my relatives and mom gave me the recipe. After I hung up I started dinner. Which was the goulash, mash potatoes, salad and the some dinner rolls.

Over did it with the bread today, because while at K-mart I ate some crazy bread from little caesars! I don't think things all the way through some times. I am not mad at myself though. After dinner I did walk Steve around the block. Ending the day with 1607 calories.

Tomorrow, I told DH I would go shopping with him and I will need to get the laundry finished and get my stuff packed. I am already in the nervous stage of this trip and my stomach is acting up already.

Your overall calories are good though!

Buffet isn't bad if you stick with tons of veggies. Instead of desert next time, maybe have a diet coke! or something low cal. or decaf coffee or something.

I also indulged last night. had 2200 cals which is much higher than I like lately for a daily average. BUT, by indulging a little bit & not going overboard to the extreme, it actually keeps me wanting to stay extra on track for the rest of the week!

Scale meeting this morning was satisfactory. When I was traveling back and forth visiting my then boyfriend and when i moved up to Ohio I was weighing around 280. I still can't believe I gained over 40 pounds in almost three years, this is so unacceptable. This year has started off good and I will plan on making my successful changes each month.

 I stressed out flying at 280 as well. I made it ok, I didn't like it at all and I didn't need the seat belt extender then, except on one flight. This time I will ask for it, just in case.

I cannot wait until this next week is over! I am sorry if I keep talking about it...but like I've said I haven't been this stressed in over two years. With the flying and DH's knee surgery it will surely suck!

Fell asleep OK last night but was up about 1:30 and was entertaining the dog. He has the hardest time sleeping all night - I think I would too if I slept all day like he does. I went back to bed about 2:30. Still have a sinus draining issue, meds help some, but every once in awhile I'll have a coughing fit.

B: cheerios, milk, iced vanilla latte

S: fruit, nuts, cheese 180 calories

L: left over baked chicken sandwich, yogurt

D: TBD DH said something about going out, he wanted a fish fry, I say yuck! I will find something I like.

Weekend plans are sparse. I am going to a library book sale - books for cheap. And then I am going to a large, large in door garage sale. Sunday, depending on DH's knee there is an owl hike we may check out, again Knee! No dogs allowed or I would take my Steve. Laundry and more stressing. Times like these I wish I drank.

Don't you wish the weight would come off as quickly as we gain it???! Last year in Thailand I gained 14 lbs in 9 weeks!!! Not doing that this year.

Last night we had baked chicken and brocoli and cauliflower. It was Ok. Ffinished off the night with 1733 calories. I was up last night with the feeling that I was suffocating. My sinus was draining something awful and of couse this affects my throat, so it is raw. I sat up for a few hours last night just because of this drowning feeling.

I did get up and get ready for work only to leave an hour later. My eyes were so weepy, I think I stressed myself into sickness.

I stopped by the durg store for sinus medicine which stated non drowysy, but as soon as I took it I was out. I slept from 10:30 to 2:00.

DH went to pick up the little girl, I helped her with adding fractions with different denominators, I tell you this stuff is refreshing and sometimes, I don't remember doing it...ever!

B: Multi grain cheerios, milk, iced vanilla latte

L: half chicken breast

D: baked chicken, corn

S: fruit, nuts, cheese - finished the day with 1674 calories. I am ok with this.

My friend wants to meet in Columbia City, Indiana for a Veteran's Day 1/2 marathon! She is so funny. I will think more about this after I survive the NY trip. This trip is the only thing on my mind. I think once I actually get there I will be ok, but getting there is what is stressing me out!

I am sorry you are stressed about the NY trip. I understand how it's the main thing on your mind - the main thing stressing me is my sister's upcoming wedding (still 2 months away & i'm already crazy about it!)

Left work about 1:00, went home to get the mail (I was expecting a check) picked up the check and met my DH at the little girl's school. We walked in together and his exwife and ex mother-n-law flagged us down and say, sit here! So much for me being across the room from her. I introduced myself to the little girl's grandmother and I was very cordial. We waited until the little girl's teacher made his presentation. The little girl was cute and we were happy. I asked my DH if he was uncomfortable, he says a little, but he stayed. Afterwards the ex asked DH if he just wanted to get the little girl because school was almost out and it was our evening. He said yes, we had about 30 minutes to kill, so he went to the back with me to deposit the check I have been waiting on for a few months. All this time I have this tickle in the back of my throat and not feeling very happy about this.

Anyway, he picked up the little girl and she was in a celebratory mood so for the first time this year we ate out. I had a chicken cordon blu panini and ate a 1/3 of it for dinner. I also ate some fries, but DH ate the majority of them. But I totally caved and we took dessert to go and I ate a piece of peanut butter cheese cake. I enjoyed it very much, but of course I felt guilt afterwards.

Ended the night with 2365 calories, this is more then I've had the entire year...bad decisions!

Get home, both DH and the little girl take showers (DH because he's filthy from work and the little girl because she doesn't get a shower everynight at her mother's house - I don't know why) and then we head out to go to our Nebula in a Bottle craft at the library. We had a lot of fun until the little girl started ****ing (yes there is no other word for it) that she got food color on her hands because she had a hole in her plastic glove. OMG, I can't get dirty, this will be on my hands for days and days. Seriously though, this is from the same girl who wears those nasty ass temporary tattoos all summer long and will never wash them off. This really gets under my skin and times like these I am so glad she doesn't stay at our house full-time. Still have the tickle in the back of my throat and I am trying to cough to get it to go away.

Watched my OU sooners play a basket ball game and started to notice the tickle more and more, DH gave me some sore throat elixer and I went to bed, only to wake up and have a sore thoat, knew it was coming and still couldn't hold it at bay with the medicine. So welcome! Very hoarse and scratchy today, hopefully it will only be here a few days.

B: Multi grain cheerios, milk, iced vanilla latte

L: the rest of my cordon blue panini

S: Sargento healthy break nuts, fruit, cheese

no idea for dinner, still have the chicken I didn't cook last night, so I'll look for some recipes and do it justice.

T-4 days until the flight of "I hope I fit"
 

NOTE: if you ever plan on going to the city with the RNC will be held, ,be sure to make hotel reservations the next day after the announcement!! We have forecasters trying to come in and assist during the convention and can't even find a hotel room and it is six months away. Unless of course you want the SleezeMotel in slumsville, just saying!

Hmmmm…Glad you received the check that you were waiting for. Always nice when some money comes your way LOL! I’m glad that everything went down both cordially & peacefully when you went to see your step-daughter at school. Why don’t you call her that? Is she your step-daughter? She sounds sweet. And perfect attendance is so impressive. Good for her. I used to get perfect attendance often when I was in elementary school & middle school & even high school. Not every year, but pretty often! Anyways, but to what I was saying. Your step-daughter seems sweet but I don’t get a good impression of her mother based on what you write. Her mother sounds like she really doesn’t do right for her little girl. Mother sounds lazy and careless especially when taking care of her daughter. It’s important for kids to be clean. I hope that you take care & teach the girl to brush her teeth every morning & night. By brushing teeth 2x a day, you will be helping her big-time down the road. Taking care of teeth is so overlooked by kids & the results are very visible once those kids become adults and need tons of work done on their mouths do to years of negligence. Don’t feel bad about the dessert as once in a while it’s good to go over calories & enjoy a treat. But, I do have a tip. And this is a good tip even for kids. Instead of “deserts” make fruit a dessert. Offer cut up fruit only after meals. That and tea. Or coffee. Or Seltzer. With fruit. Even baked apples once in while are good. If you can change your ways into realizing you don’t ever need dessert and replace it with something else, you can be so much more successful in lowering your calories. I do NOT eat desserts. Instead, an after-meal indulgence for me is usually veggie chips. I eat a meal of all veggies and protein, and have the chips after. They have a little salt & fat which is satisfying as well as the carbs that I need. But not a ton of sugar. And also, chips have potassium. Many times, I feel I like potassium. So, all in all, even though some people don’t agree, I eat the chips instead of other grains or something else, and to me, they are a “healthy indulgence!” Even for the little girl, eating veggies is important. Growing up, my mom made a salad that we always started dinner with. As a child, I never had a weight problem. Only when I turned 17 did I start to have problems when I started eating less healthy options. Especially in college. I had to re-teach & re-train myself! I now overindulge in vegetables. In order to be very full – but still manage a lower weight. Without the vegetables, I would not to maintain my calories or weight as well. What you do for your “daughter” is wonderful. Sorry about the mess on her hands though! Sometimes dairy bothers the throat. Maybe limit the milk until you feel better! Feel better!

Yes, she is my step daughter. And you hit the nail on the head with her biological mother. She is the most awful person I know and have never had a lengthy conversation with her. I took the little girl (just habit) to her first dental appointment last year. The dentist suggested she see an orthodontist, but her mother refuses to let her. She told her that wearing braces would be 'ugly'! We also do a lot of activities at the library, her step-father told her the library is 'stupid'! Who says these things. It has been very hard I know the poor girl has to live two different life styles, depending on whose house she it at the time. Thanks for the vegetable tips, I have learned the last 27 days we do not need sweets at all.

Hope you're feeling better soon. I have a blended family as well and some times the dynamics that go with it can be very frustrating. My kids are all grown now but with weddings and grandchildren there are still events at times where ex spouses are involved and it can be strained. I think being a parent is difficult at times and being a step parent can have its own set of challenges. On another note I've never had peanut butter cheese cake but just the thought of how good it sounds tells me to stay away from it because I'm sure it would be a struggle to resist indeed!

I put in leave for yesterday to leave at 1:00 to see the little girl's award ceremony. She made merit role and gets a perfect attendance certificate. She had told me it was on Monday, but I received a text from her mother telling me it was on Tuesday. The little girl informed me over the weekend, if I did come, please sit on the other side of the room and not by her mother. Why? It's not like I will tell her she is a horrible mother and she should really help me get rid of her daughter's head lice. I would never start anything in public! Or I should say...I haven't yet.

Got home and got the dog. Walked him a little, but he still didn't produce the stool sample, so I took him anyway. We waited on the Dr. and because my little dog, don't really care for him, he had to be mussled. The doctor looked him over, pushed, prodded and pulled on my little dog and then he tells me...Your dog is fat! OMG. He weighed in at 14.8 pounds. The Dr. said he should be between 9-11. He suggested I pick up his food bowl and not leave it out all day. OK I will try this. I will also bundle up and walk him like we do in the summer, it's just so hard sometimes to make myself go out in the frigid temperatures, good thing he has a jacket.

My legs and thighs are feeling my zumba from Sunday so I didn't even attempt to do it. I got caught up in watching the X Files and biggest loser.

S: Sargento healthy breaks

L: turkey, swiss on italian bread.

After the ceremony I am going to the store and then back to the little gir's house to get her and then we will go home.  I am cooking something with chicken again. Haven't figured out what yet. We do have an event at the library at 6:30.

I did see an dressing recipe yesterday I want to try with 1/2 avocado and 1/2 plain yogurt with cilantro and other spiced. It looked like and creamy. I want to use that for something.

Sometimes when the body is sore, a day or so of resting of the sore body parts is worthwhile. Continuously exercising sore muscles can cause weakness & injury as I experienced for a couple years. I am so bad with tv watching – as in, it’s hard for me to commit to any show at all. At home, it’s like I have ADD. It’s hard for me to remain on any task for a long time when I’m home. This is why I love the gym! I am out & about. I love working out in a gym environment. I’d not be as successful if I were to work out at home! Very nice calories. 1820 is surely enough for weightloss! Lol, I’m constantly back & forth to the store buying vegetables. In order to be successful, myself, I always need cooked veggies on hand in my fridge. If I don’t have them, I’m far less likely to make good choices. I have learned, especially since early fall, how I do need to take extra steps and make extra trips and be diligent to make sure veggies are always around. Actually, I have needed to unfortunately throw vegetables away lately because I bought too many. But honestly, this seems a better case than not having enough! I hate throwing away, but I love knowing I have them on hand when I need them! Yep I guess dogs are just like us people. They can also get fat with less physical activity. So, by you walking it a little in the winter too, it’ll help both YOU AND THE DOG! Physical activity is good for all of us! That’s why pet owners have a plus of needing to walk their pets because it also helps them get some much needed exercise too. Dressing sounds healthy & tasty. I also have half an avocado (hope it’s still fresh bc I cut it 2 days ago!) to eat with my lunch!
