Monday the girl, DH and I went to Sandusky to grow grocery shopping...for the iced coffee!! We ate lunch at Ryan's buffet and then went to Sam's. The girl and I went to a fairy garden class at the library and then went home.

Tuesday - was up at 5:50 and did the c25K (10 minute run - 3 min walk - 10 minute run) this is much easier to do in cooler less humid weather. DH cooked ribs that turned out really tender. The YA and his girlfirend was over for dinner and this is the 2nd week for the girl so she will be with us the entire week. My dog is the exception to the rule of being scared of fire works. He runs around the back yard trying to catch them and barks and barks and barks. I'm sure he gets agitated, but after awhile he just goes to sleep. Poor baby.

Today was back to work - I did not miss this for four days. I still cannot believe how much complaining the people I work with do. Tonight we are making slime!

Tomorrow is week 6 day 3 and will be a 15 minute run with a 3 minute walk and then a 5 minute run. Right now the 15 minutes sounds very daunting. Body is feeling ok - no soreness or back issues of late.

Still need to cut back on the sweets!

Have a great evening!

Progress as of today: 15.6 lbs lost so far, only 96 lbs to go!

So tell us about this Fairy Garden Class! Was it good? Was it Creative?

Wow so proud of you being up at 5:50am on Independence Day! I wasn’t out of my bed until after 10am yesterday!! It’s good you don’t have a crying doggie on your hands…my hamster seemed a little bit afraid – I’m glad it’s practically blind because I don’t have all my shades put up and if my hamster could see far – he’d be seeing all those fireworks lights bursting..but I do not think a hamster can see more than a few inches in front of themselves – which is great.

Today everyone at work kept their mouths shut. I think they were tired? Somehow I was on time despite leaving SO LATE! no traffic at all! A couple of other people that work around me were late…not sure if they really had something to do or if they were partying? Lol. one was a pregnant lady, coming in 1.5 hours late. another was an older secretary who came in at 10 saying she was at the dr before – who knows.

Keep going with your running program ! You are doing great. Only reason to stop or slow is if there’s pain or too much soreness. Keep up the great work, IP!

Saturday totally bum day. Was up and never changed out of my pajamas. Fell asleep in the recliner and watched baseball most of the day. DH got home, showered and opted to sleep in his recliner. He grill pork chops. Ended the day with 1438 calories.

Sunday, was up early and did the c25k - 10 minute run 5 minute walk 10 minute run. Kicked my butt! I was humidity's **** today! OMG I thought I was going to die. I will not wait four days to do this again. I will be up Tuesday to do this again.

No plans today - laundry. Supposed to get the girl at 7:00 pm. I am off tomorrow and Tuesday but really have no plans.

Chillin'

Have a great fourth!

I applaud you for running in high humidity. That is NOT easy.

I had a bit of bumming also on the weekend. sometimes it's a time to rest and recharge the MIND...allowing you to think about other things and future plans! :)

Oh, I feel ya. I HATE humidity. I always do better in the winter. Good for You!

Took a vacation day at work and took the girl to the Indians game. My new favorite thing. OMG I loved every minute of it, despite the heat. We had a great time. We had to walk over a mile to where we parked, but I did not want to pay $20 to park closer. We had the best time ever and are planning to go back with DH in early August.

The girl and I went to Boston Market after and had some rotisserie chicken. I am having real issues with meat. I didn't think my chicken was cooked enough and just picked at it. DH made some ribs a few weeks ago and one of them at a fat pocket on it that looked like an infected blister. It was so nasty. Just meat in general is grossing me out lately.

Today I thought about registering for the race to celebrate my 50th BD, but I thought I should at last finish the training program. I have nine more runs to do and will be finished in plenty of time for the date of the race...but just in case I will wait until I finish the program.

We will have the girl again Sunday night for the week...so I will get two nights off.

Have a great 4th of July! Will try to check in as time permits.

Progress as of today: 15.6 lbs lost so far, only 96 lbs to go!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 07/03/2017:
Good idea not to pay to park and rather get a lil exercise and do the walk yourself. This is OBVIOUSLY the MOST healthy and BEST choice! Plus, it shows the girlie being lazy is simply NOT the best choice!

I had a major change with meat also - i do not enjoy HUGE portions of it anymore - for like one full year now i'm completely having small portions almost always. (size of my palm at most usually!)

Protein is "overrated" by the general public - we don't need to overload on it..but some isn't bad....

Picked up the girl and she was steaming mad. Her mother is moving into a different house and apparently making the girl and her step-sister do all the packing. I get from the conversation that this isn't going too well. I kinda laughed to myself, but kept telling the girl to be nice. Once I get home I'm expecting dinner, but DH just climbed out of bed apparently. He was in his muumuu gown and the living room drapes were still shut. What a let down. So the young adult was over in the morning and kept DH up later than normal...I asked DH if talking about cars again was more important than sleep. Apparently so...because that is all the young adult talks about EVER!

I was a little cranky because I had to throw something together for dinner. I sauteed/grilled some chicken breasts and dumped them in a pot of alfreado noodles with green beans. . It turned out pretty good. I'll add that to my thirty minute meal catalog.

DH went back to bed and I spent the rest of the evening with the girl. HOP we have her for 4 weeks in the summer. They are not concecutive weeks, but they are full weeks. We have her the 4th of July week, the last week in July and the 2nd week in August....these are the longest of weeks.

My dentist called to reschedule the girls appointment, he said something was going around in the office. He asked me how my tooth was doing since the filling...well remember when you asked me not one, twice but three times if my tooth was bothering me, hurting in anyway, sensitive to hot or cold and three times I told you NO...why? and you said because I had a cavity and it needed to be filled. Well now it hurts and it is very sensitive why is that? He tells me my tooth was traumatized during the drilling/filling and it would need a few days to heal. OK a few days, it's been a week. He tells me, yes and I also told you there was more decay than I thought so I had to drill a little deeper. OK...whatever! He told me if it wasn't better by next week (when his office is closed) I should call again. Luckily this morning it wasn't as sensitive, so hopefully it is healing.

Was up at 4:50 this morning and did the Week 5 Day three (8 minute run 5 min walk, 8 minute run). Surprisly this went well and I could have gone longer the rist 8 minutes and I am happy about this. The weather was cooler than usual and it turned out to be a nice pleasant run/walk. I met a man walking his dog, he said good morning and scared me. He had a reflective vest on, may think about this!

Since DH isn't around in the mornings, I've been having pop tarts. Not the healthiest but they are easy. I also haven't been eating a real lunch, just a few snacks. Today I ate yogurt, banana, cheezits, apple - feeling pretty good. I have a pot of chili on at home.

Tomorrow is the Indians games!! Very excited.

Have a great night!

HOLA IP IP!

Now I’m reading your entry from today …. :-P ….

Yeah, sleep is important but once in awhile I guess it’s ok for him to give YA some attention. ???? Dinner that you made sounds good….to add extra volume to your meal, just add more green beans and less noodles and then it’s less calories! You can even do more what’s like chicken and green beans with small amount noodles just to satisfy.

Ohhhh so I see…it’s different from a few nights per week when it’s all week. I can see how it can be a challenge….try to provide some entertainment / mind opening experiences for her to the best of your capacity as I know you are a working woman. …thank GOSH they are not consecutive, that would be a bit of a change too much so!

Yep, fingers crossed all goes well for your tooth. Teeth can be so expensive (I know mostly from friends with some dental issues). I only had to pay for a couple wisdom teeth being removed and I was actually paid back….but it’s amazing – the cost of braces and things. It’s crazy that many working people cannot afford braces for their children…life is not fair….dental should be available at better rates to all…it’s so crazy the costs to maintain a mouth. Luckily, I have my costs mostly covered….good luck to your healing tooth…

Lately I keep sleeping and sleeping in the AM. Obciously the man wants to be seen when he’s jogging – so how scary could he really be!? LOL…reflective vests are cheap…you can buy them a little / or big construction stores / shops. I find them all over here around queens being sold for just a few dollars.

Don’t you get really hungry from pop tarts? They never satisfy me at all…but it’s ok to take a break once in awhile….i know they are SO TASTY. My mom bought them, very briefly, for us as kids…not sure why she did….and I remember it not going on too long bc she didn’t believe in much junk food in the house. She was probably enjoying them too, for a little while! Lol. she likes a cookie or small bar in mornings, I bet she was eating them too!

Go Indians!

I took a break! I was just blah...the entire week with the girl was very taxing on me. And guess what I get to do it again next week.

I did Week 5 Day 2 of the C25K - I was pleasntly surprised that I finished. Tomorrow i will do Week 5 Day 3 two 8 minute runs with a 5 minute walk. When it says run I'm not actually running, I am doing a slow jog you understand. I don't want anyone to think this is a full-out sprinting run, because it's not...I'm fat. The weather is cooler than it should be and I am thankful for this.

I won tickets to watch the Indians play the Rangers on Thursday afternoon. Hella excited about this! DH will or should be sleeping so I have asked the girl to come along. Well I asked her mom if she could come along and she agreed.

I also took off the day before the 4th of July. This will be a nice four day weekend - well I will have the girl, but I have already told her not to expect much. Not sure when DH will be off that nght before of the night of...still think third shift blows!

After 174 days of logging food I missed the last 4 and don't even want to try to remember what I ate. I will start over on July 1st. I didn't eat anything awful so not too worried about that. I have noticed I am craving sweet stuff and try to stay away from them.

Trying to find a passion....

Have a great day! IP

Why is the girl with you more often now?? Her mom is on vaca or something? It should be fair…at least you give her attention and good parenting…that is great….i am always proud of you – as you should be deep down proud of you too! :-D

Yes, weather has been PERFECT here also for outdoor activities. Just like you, when I’m “running,” it’s a pretty slow jog also. But we’re doing it…the more we practice, the better we get! This is how it works – put in the practice, reap the rewards! That’s how I got so good at weights – YEARS of practice.

Oh nice….Rangers are from NY! Great experience for the girl! Cool you both are going to the game. If you eat…you can always get water (or a diet coke!) to fill your stomach if you need to. This is what I do when I’m out. Or seltzer. Diet coke isn’t the best, I know. I add liquid stevia even to plain seltzer and it becomes nice, SWEET, and refreshing. Rangers (are you talking ICE HOCKEY?) are a great NY team!

This happens to me, too, with logging. Sometimes we need a break. I also accidentally totally forgot this past Sunday when I was really busy. And then I was too tired to write it all out!

It’s ok to take breaks. Everything needs a break or a MIND BREAK sometimes.

But you know, this logging stuff, it’s great because it’s how we stay on track!:-) But a little break is good for the soul!

innerpeace on 06/28/2017:
It is the Cleveland Indians and Texas Rangers - Major League Baseball. No hockey for this girl!!

I just read that post about the future of DD - this makes me sad...

DH heard back from his job...he wasn't selected so he was broody last night. And then there was a fire at his job and they called and told him not to come in until they replace the quenching take (oil that got water in it from the firemen), he missed two nights of work. He wasn't sleeping when I thought he should, so this caused a little row, so my final thought was...I don't care if he ever sleeps again, but he better not take an attitude with me about little stuff that he feels bothers him...like his very own kids!!

I told him, when I had my one and only child 30 some years ago, I knew then that I was too selfish to have any more kids. There was a reason!! I don't like them. I don't want to worry about them and tend to them. I would often say, I didn't start liking my son until he was about 16 when he could do things and go places for himself. Now, I find myself being forced into caring for someone else's kid. The dad sleeps all the time and the mother don't care!! HELLO!!! what is wrong with this picture...I spend more time with her than either of the parents. This makes me sad, furious, frustrated all at the same time.

DH made burgers last night. They were ok. ended the night with 1582 calories.

Tomorrow is week 5 day 2, A long 8 minute run.

Maybe a parade tonight.

Tomorrow I will have a better day. Been working in the storage/supply room the last three days, should finish tomorrow morning.

Have a good night.

Hi IP!

DH sounds a lil stressed and took it out on you for no reason….he just sounds stressed out due to no sleep / fire / work / no work.

This girlie will get older too. Don’t worry…you’re doing your part & that is all that matters / should matter to you. Since you obviously don’t want full custody just do your part and that should be good.

Do you ever make turkey burgers? They can be dry if you use a very lean white ground meat, but when I use even the fattier meat – they’ll be soft and taste good. If you make a dry one, very low cal, you can top it with a nice and creamy bit of avocado. I am looking to do this. I might make some nice turkey burgers tonight after I visit my grandma who is now living in a nursing home only 10 min away from me…

Great cals….

Please tell me how you’ve been doing with your running program…8 minutes is a long time, but you have been training for it! I am running around ½ mile at a time and generally walking for a lil bit each ½ that a stop and then back to running. I am probably running up to around 7-8 min at a time currently…prob not much more than that, no, not yet for me.

Donkey on 06/24/2017:
I hope you're doing better. Very astute observation about who spends the most time with the girl. It IS sad, and yet, I can see why you feel frustrated, too! It's good that you know your limits, but it seems you are being tested. (((hugs)))

I'd like to hear about the running too :-)

Keep trudging along. My entire life is running amok. This week the girl is with us the entire week. DH is still working nights so I am kinda the go to person...alarm clock, chauffer, chef - not jobs I particularly care for. I prefer to be around people who look forward to the day and seek new things to learn and do, not someone who would rather just not do anything...ever! I don't think I've ever been around someone who doesn't have a spark of creativity or an idea to do something better or different. It's just one big blah machine around my house.

I will start week 5 of the couch to 5 K. I have officially completed half of it - now I guess the hard work begins. I will see how I feel tomorrow.

No word yet on DH's job interview, he is going to call and ask tomorrow. I sure hope it's good news.

I have been eating ok, I have noticed that some sweets are starting to creep back into my menus...not a good thing for me. I will continue to work on this - hopefully this week will go by quickly.

Have a great night! iP

DH was up when I got home, he went to get the girl. She asked me if I missed her...uh, I just saw you two days ago. OK so over the last few months I have spent almost $200 on new shorts and shirts for her to wear over the summer, she has yet to wear these clothes and continues to wear these butt tight shorts and I tell her to please go and change into a pair I just bought her. She says, my mom just bought these. I tell her, well you wear those when you are with your mother. I do not want to see your butt cheeks hanging out of your shorts. This is NOT ok with me. What you do at your mom's house, you do over there.

She went to change and had the audacity to tell me the new shorts were too big!! What in the HELL!! They sure fit fine, when your 2$$ wanted me to buy them. She kept them on anyway. $!#%##^%^^ And then when i wash clothes I see all these clothes n the laundry that I know she didn't wear, come to find out she is bring her dirty clothes that she wants washed to my house so I can do them. Again...##!#@#%^^&&*. I ask why are you doing this? She says because her mom takes forever tow ash clothes. I hate my life!

DH cooked burgers on the grill, they were for lack of better words...nasty! I don't know what was wrong with them, the meat was way to wet and I don't think he cooked them all the way through, I think my burger was grey! Anyway, I ended the night with 1682 calories.

I want a Texas sheet cake!

B: toast, hazel nut spread, iced vanilla latte

S: banana, yogurt

L: left over 1/2 burger, cheezits, apple

D: - not sure yet - DH said to bring something home - don't have a clue what this will be.

Contemplating a leadership course at work - lots of self study - must discuss with supervisor

I did not get up to do my week 4 day 3 run. If it cools off, I may do it tonight, if not I will get up in do it in the morning. No reason why I did't. I was just comfortable and my dog was with me and I really didn't want to move.

Oh and my garage door opener needs a battery!

Have a great weekend and celebrate those FATHERS! IP

girl is old enough to start washing clothes...teach her how - then she can do them at her mom's....teach her the basics and explain she can wash most things together as long as they aren't new....we don't need everything turning pink bc of a new shirt!

anyways, teach her the basics of separating the wash quick and let her start to wash her clothes....help her the first few times. this is good for her.

i started doing my clothes in high school - but she can start now?

innerpeace on 06/20/2017:
I showed her last year, but she conveniently forgets. Haven't you heard that saying...A child who wants to learn will - a child who doesn't won't - no matter how many times they are shown or taught....or something to that affect.

She is a strange one...she doesn't want to get hot or sweat. She throws a fit if taken out of her comfort zone.

She is in camp this week and always says she hates the kids and don't want to have nothing to do with them. So this morning when I drop her off, one of the younger ones runs up to her and hugs her.

She says things, but then turns around and does what she just said she didn't want to do. She lets her long wet hair lay on her shirt - ergo the shirt gets wet and then she says. I'm cold with this wet shirt on! Well apparently you really don't care or you would try to dry your wet hair. This isn't just once in awhile - it is every morning she takes a shower before camp!

This behavior grates on my very last nerve. But alas, I will show her again, how to use the washing machine to get her shirts washed for camp and her wet bathing suit so it won't mildew. I will do this again...not because I enjoy it, but because I don't want to do it myself.

And tonight I have a dentist appointment to get my cavity filled. She would rather sit in the waiting room and wait, instead of sit home and relax and watch tv. This..this is bizzaar to me. And the more I think about it...I am going to upset her and make her stay home. Yay me!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 06/20/2017:
she's sorta young...you may have to stand around with her...for a few times of this laundry business. my mom had me doing it (sorta late i guess - in high school)...seems she's still just a little kid still far away from being self sufficient...she's going into 8th?

also...if the things get on your nerves...maybe help her see that she is complaining? or that you might even have to show her how to wear her hair up in a towel or even how to halfway dry it????? she probably actually needs you to show her what to do!? not sure....i think it's funny about the same complaint and problem everyday - but it can be fixed if you have some solutions for her...

maybe show her everyday can be easier if she finds solutions to the things that are annoying her! LOL....maybe easier said than done? i don't know....after reading your comments i'm trying to find solutions to your anoyances too lol....really though, i am trying to provide some kinda logical advice to the best of my single lady abilities!

i am glad she doesn't hate everyone :) at camp! the young ones prob do love her :)

you gotta help her with both drying the hair...with towel and perhaps lightly with blow dryer for 5 min also...

i didn't know how to do my hair well until high school - my mom never helped me! and then when i did it, i didn't apply any heat protection and fried it by the time i graduated...also, it would have been nice to learn how to wear it curly..would have saved me time...now my hair is in a short pixie.

you gotta help her with her hair teach her how to do this....when you have the time...

i think if i remember a photo - she has the really thick hair....i bet it soaks her shirt indeed!

why make her stay home?

this girl loves you i gotta tell you....she's still learning and doesn't always see the logic...still thinking like a kid...

but she obviously loves your company and parenting! :) xoxoxoxoxo

maybe she wants to talk to you - which is why she wants to go with you.

Got home and DH grilled chicken. I love this, however, I don't love the fact that he never cooks sides. I through some green beans a pot to heat up and put together a pasta dish. It was pretty good. Ended the day with 1461 calories.

The YA came over and picked up DH's truck to use to help his girl friend's mother move. Yeah, whatever! I gave him a Yeti cup to wrap for DH on father's day. He better bring that cup back LOL!

Got DH off to work and got to bed about 10:45. DH texted me at 5:00 to see if I was up. Uh, no...today is not a run day. Well it usually is, but I didn't run on Tuesday, I ran on Wednesday so tomorrow is the run day. Just when I feel like it.

My dog doesn't sleep with me anymore, this makes me sad. Since DH has been working nights.

Sunday will be the start of my own personal hell...the summer weeks with the girl begin. I'm not sure I'm emotionally ready for this.

yes those veggie sides are what fill you up to complete your meal. that's how i do it and then i usually enjoy ending my meals with carbs. today was 1/2 a bagel and then i splurged on a Fiber 1 Choc Chip cookie for dessert...quite a bit of carbs but still in some kinda proportion / portion control!

Veggies i eat after taking at least a few bites of protein to start the meal...they really help me fill up my stomach. for some reason, i enjoy ending meals with carbs.

I do not run every day...right now it's 2x per week - i'd prefer to get up to 3....but that is not my plan for the summer, thankfully! Summer i'm sticking with 2x per week runs...i may change my mind for August only...but definitely sticking to the 2x per week plan for the months of June and July.

Your meals sound EXCELLENT.....breakfast is tasty wow.

lunch is healthy...but you do not like veg anymore...they do require prep and i do admit to buying them very often prepped....i can't keep up with the amount of veggies I like to consume.

hamburgers = yum = especially a veg casserole of some sort filled with the hamburger meat!

So the new refrigerator was delivered.

DH woke up when the eye glasses placed called and told him his glasses were ready, and then he goes and gets the girl and then was at home to get the refrigerator. All of this was done before I get home. When I get home DH takes the girl to the dentist...two cavities!! And then the chicken wasn't thawed so he stopped at McDonald's on the way home. Not my favorite.

Then the YA comes over and he is upset because him and his mother are getting into it. He says that the mother even told him to get out of his sister's life. What on earth is wrong with this woman? I have never known someone to drive people away from each other the way she does. I thought mother's wanted their children to get along and be happy, apparently not this woman! Anyway, he gets so upset he can't sleep. Hoping he finds comfort soon.

Also praying my DH gets the job he interviewed for, they are supposed to make a decision today or tomorrow. Really would like for him to be back on day shift.

Was up at 4:50 and went on my Week 4 Day 2 c25K run/walk. It was humid and sticky and not my best day, but I finished and feel good about it.

B: toast with hazel nut spread, iced vanilla latte

L: roast beef sandiwich, cheezits, apple

ended the day with 1918 calories - no thanks to McDonalds!!

DH went to bed, the girl's mother picked her up at 8:20 and the the YA left about 9:00. I watched baseball!

B: toast, hazel nut spread, iced vanilla latte

S: banana

L: 1/2 peanut butter sandwich, cheezits, apple

S: balanced breaks

D: something with chicken!

Have a great night!
