Another beautiful day!!! Today the sun is shining. Taylor's school is closed for parent teacher interviews today. I had my interview at 8:15 am today. It went really well, I can't say enough good things about her teacher, she is so great. If only all teachers were as positive and eager to help kids!!! My daughter gets so excited to see her, she misses her on the week-ends and can't wait to go back to school on Mondays. This is a far cry from last year when she had a "less than desirable" teacher!!! My husband and I both felt like her teacher last year didn't like our child. She was soooo negative towards her and she would split Taylor from her friends and leave them together even though they were all being equally disruptive at the time. This was the first time Taylor has had anybody through school and all of the parks and recreation programs she has been in who was so negative about her!!! Usually she gets comments like, how pleasant she is, how funny, that she's hard working, that she is very enthusiastic. This year her teacher has nothing but great things to say about her. Taylor even gives her teacher a big hug when she see's her and when she leaves, so sweet!!

I have been outside with the kids for most of the morning. All of the kids on our street are out in full force. I love this neighbourhood because its full of kids around my children's ages. They have been riding their bikes and we went to the park for them to play for about an hour before lunch. They are just eating now and then we are going to walk up to the movie store and get a movie for our "Family Movie Night". After that we are meeting back up with a neighbour and her kids at the park. I'm planning to take full advantage of this beautiful weather!!!

My sister went and got her wedding dress last night. I was a little hurt that my Mom and sister went without me and didn't even think to call and invite me to go along with them to watch my sister try on dresses. I told both of them several times that I wanted to go when she chose her dress and yet they went without me anyways. When I went to pick out my dress I wouldn't even think of going without my Mom AND my only sister. They both brush me off like its no big deal but to me it is. I definetly feel left out and offended. I am definetly the most "sensitive" and sentimental of the three of us. My Mom and sister have some very similiar characteristics that sometimes leaves me feeling like a bit of on outsider. I think I have a more similiar personality to my Dad. Since his death I really do feel like I've lost the parent who maybe understood my ways better. I didn't say much because its not like me to make a big stink about things but I really am upset that they didn't involve me in this. Am I being to sensitive?!!!! Okay, I think I'm finished venting for now:)

I'm going to go and get back outside and enjoy the sunshine!! I'm hoping to catch up on some diaries later. I hope everybody has a great day!!

Progress as of today: 12.5 lbs lost so far, only 9 lbs to go!

borntocry on 03/23/2007:
Ohh, I can understand how you feel about your mother and your sister. I have also always felt that my mother has more in common with my brother and prefers him to me. I used to think she didn't love me at all but now I see that she just gets along better around him. And I have to admit that I am probably not as affectionate towards her as he is, so it does go both ways.

I don't think you are being too sensitive, but if your mother and sister are acting like it's no big deal, maybe they genuinely did not realise how much you wanted to come along. I know you told them several times but they may have assumed you were just trying to be helpful, or perhaps they simply forgot. You have been helping out quite a bit with this wedding so I don't think they would have deliberately excluded you. Just let them know that you are hurt that they didn't invite you, so that they know not to leave you out of this kind of thing in the future!

jon'smom on 03/23/2007:
No you are not being to sensitive. I can relate to this issue alot. Try not to take it personally. Maybe your sister is so caught up in the wedding she just wasn't thinking. If they keep leaving you out, then it is time that you speak up.

smiley2 on 03/24/2007:
Hi there! Im glad you guys are having some nice weather over there! I dont think your mother and sister realized how going alone would affect you. I dont think you are overly sensitive, since i would have felt exactly the same. Maybe you should say something.....

Thanks for the comment you left me on my previous entry. I was wearing a top in that pic and it was for V-day, thats why im kinda matching the decor LOL.

You also asked about "tiramisu" - well its best to google it, but if i have to describe it: Mascarpone cheese layed between ladyfigers, which has been soaked in espresso coffee and liquer. Oh how i love that dessert lol! Its well worth a try!

geevee on 03/24/2007:
I sure can relate to the problem of having your child's teacher not like her. I've been through it too. My youngest, Billy, the one who is living with me again had a kindergarten teacher who truly despised him.We all knew it and there wasn't a thing we could do about. It was almost a family joke, so Billy didn't feel so bad about it at the time. It was just one of those things. To this day we imitate her voice and go over all the mean incidents with her.

As for a parent's preferential treatment of one child over another, my ex always accused me of doing that with #2 son, Jim. I would always deny it. Like it or not there was always so much more that I had in common with him than with my other children. I suppose it continues to this very day, but in my mind I don't feel a preference.

biscottibody59 on 03/24/2007:
Interesting that you noticed that similarity to your dad and you. And good that you were a little older, though I think losing a parent as an adult means that you really know how much you lost.

I know exactly what you mean. I lost my dad way before I would have started thinking about how similar our personalities must have been, but all these years later (and feeling like a fish out of water sometimes) I know now that I'm much more like him than I am my mother. And my mother and I are close, but the differences in temperament were always glaring differences.

Have a good one!

WorkingIt2 on 03/24/2007:
That is fantastic that your daughter really likes her teacher. It is always nice when our kids have that one teacher that they will remember forever. I remember my first grade teacher, Mrs. Kennedy, she was the best teacher I ever had. She passed away when I was in the 5th grade and I cried for days and days. Teachers that touch our hearts and the hearts of our children are beautiful people indeed. Have a great weekend!

The weather today is beautiful!!! Even at 8:00 am when I took Taylor to the bus it was so mild out and the breeze was nice and warm, Yay Spring!!! Its raining on and off today but tomorrow is supposed to be nothing but sunshine, I'm really looking forward to that!!

I made home made lasagna for dinner last night, sooooo good!! I love spaghetti and lasagna. I made it with whole wheat noodles and partly skimmed mozerella cheese. Ofcourse it had meat, mushrooms, onions, red peppers, lots of spices and so on. I don't eat ground beef but Kirt does so I make it with meat and then give him all my meat!! I do like the flavour from the meat being cooked with it though. I was afraid Kirt might not like it because he has been complaining that he's sick of whole wheat but he loved it, thankfully because I refuse to cook with white pasta anymore!!

I couldn't resist having another piece of lasagna for lunch today because it was so tasty last night!! I will now have to keep my snacks and dinner light for the rest of the day because even though I used whole wheat noodles and low fat cheese it still packs alot of calories in one piece!!!!

I did end up making to the gym last night so today I will just get some exercise in at home and hope to get to the gym again on Friday. Taylor has her 1st swim class tonight (for this session) so I will have to squeeze some exercise in during the day and then maybe get my cardio in once I get the kids settled in bed.

Have a great day!!

Progress as of today: 12.5 lbs lost so far, only 9 lbs to go!

sweetpea1977 on 03/22/2007:
Man, now I want lasagna!! Feel free to send some leftovers down to me! LOL :o)

Enjoy that beautiful spring weather!

DenasHope on 03/22/2007:
Ooh, lasagna does sound really good... XD How much of a taste difference is there between the whole wheat noodles and regular noodles?

greengirl on 03/22/2007:
It's great that you are making tasty food, using the healthier options available. I might try something similar but with vegetarian "meat" in it. It sounds so good!! Keep up the good work, you are doing so well :0)

sharklover on 03/22/2007:
I know what you mean about the whole wheat pasta. That's one of the best inventions! your lasagna sounds delicous!

Have a great day!

slinny on 03/22/2007:
I made lasagna with chicken instead of beef awhile back and it was awesome. You do so well on your excercise...congrats on being in your teens!

I lost another pound so I'm officially into the "teens", YAY! I hope it stays gone and its not just stress!!

Yesturday was a very frustrating day. The day started off great, I took my son to his swim class in the morning and then we went on or usual trip to the library and got a couple of educational computer games and a big pile of books (my kids and I LOVE books).

My fun began when I went to pick my dauhter up from her bus. Her bus is supposed to drop her off at 3:05 pm. I was going out my front door at 2:58 pm. Usually I leave at 2:55 pm just to be sure I'm early. It only takes me a minute to go around the corner and up the street where the bus drops her at the park. When I came out my door I seen my neighbour coming around the corner with her son from the bus. I picked up my son and ran, hoping she would see me come around the corner and wait, after all she was very early!! She had already left!!!!!! I would understand her not waiting if I was late but if she is early she should wait until her scheduled drop off time according to the bus company. I was so angry and frustrated because I now had to walk with my son to the school to pick her up from the office!!! I came home, called the school to make sure the bus driver would bring her back there and she was already arriving into the office, so how long did this bus driver wait for me, not for even 1 min, urgh!!!! Luckily my son is small enough to pull in a wagon still so that I could speed walk to the school. Going full tilt (wagon in toe) I managed to get to the school in just over 20 min. Thankfully it wasn't raining or snowing out!!

My daughter is in grade 1 (6yrs old) and this bus driver will apparently only let somebody other than myself or her Dad pick her up if she has recieved a note in advance. I appreciate that she is looking out for the safety of my child however she has in the past let Taylor off the bus to another Mother (when she was early to drop off also) without a note. She has also let Taylor go with my neighbour (without a note) when my son was really sick (vomitting none stop) so I didn't want to walk down to get her in the cold, with my son being sick all over the place. Yet yesturday when this same neighbour said two times that she would take her and walk her home, the bus driver refused to let her off the bus, what the heck!!! She has also allowed this same neighbour's son off the bus by himself and he is the same age as Taylor, he is bigger but also in grade 1. I wonder if she thinks my daughter is only in kindergarten because she is a little short (like her Mother) I wouldn't want her to let her off with nobody there or to a total stranger but why wouldn't she let my neighbour take her who I have said in the past she could go with her?!!!! I am going to write a note to her telling her this particular neighbour can pick her up if for any reason I'm not there. It just really irritates me because I wasn't late to pick her up!!!!!!!!!!

On a positive note I got a 45 min walk in!! I also walked to the pharmacy later which is very close to us, I managed to walk there and back in 5 min either way (also walking very fast, it was rather cold out in the evening!!) So I got 55 min of cardio through walking yesturday, ha, ha!! I don't find you burn many calories just through walking though, even though I love to go for walks outside.

My sister's fiance was taken by ambulance to the hospital yesturday morning. He was at work and he got the shakes, went super pale and nearly passed out. They called an ambulance for him and apparently he had super low blood pressure!! I'm not sure what caused low blood pressure?! I know he doesn't get enough sleep because he works long hours and then my silly sister likes to stay up late and I don't think she lets him go to bed at night because she wants to see him, not very considerate of her. Also, I don't think he eats enough!! He lifts weights and works out but he told me sometimes he only eats 1000 calories a day. Thats not enough calories for a man without exercise never mind when your lifting weights!! I've told him to check out a bunch of web sites to find out what his calorie intake should be to loose and maintain weight, but I think he is slightly starving himself still!! I'm sure he's also stressed out with the wedding coming up and all of the expense. The hospital arranged a ride for to get him home but he had them drop him back off at work because he couldn't afford to loose the hours. Does anybody know what might cause really low blood pressure??!! Could it be poor diet, stress, exhaustion, I don't know!!

Tonight Taylor has her last tap class (her Recital is this week-end) and tomorrow night Taylor's swim class starts up again. The sessions run for 3 months through parks and recreation and then you have to keep signing them up for more lessons.

Friday morning I have to go for a parent-teacher interview to discuss Taylors 2nd term report card. She did pretty good, she improved many of her marks from 1st to 2nd term. She does really good in Math, music, drama and gym but she is struggling with her reading and writing. Her teacher is amazing and has been giving her all kinds of extra help. She has also given us alot of extra things to do at home to help her with it. She is at a bit of a disadvantage because she is a year younger than many of the kids in her grade because she is a December baby. I wouldn't have expected her to struggle this much with reading and writing because I have been reading to her since she was an infant and she talked really young, she also loves books!! Hopefully with all of the extra help she is being given in school and at home she will get better over time.

Have a great day!!

Progress as of today: 12.5 lbs lost so far, only 9 lbs to go!

He is in Disney's "High School Musical". he plays Zeke Baylor, one of the jocks who is in love with Sharpay Evans and loves to secretly bake. He is having a blast. He was originally the understudy for the part, but the senior who was originally cast never showed up for rehersals, so the director gave it to my son. He is only in 8th grade.

Going to be 50 here today, but chance of rain, hoping it holds out until I get my walk in. Where do you live that our weather is similar? Have a great day. Thanks for all your kind comments.

geevee on 03/21/2007:
A really bright son of mine had a very difficult time learning how to read. I insisted that he repeat first grade because I knew how hard it would be in second grade, not being able to read.

I also had him tested which is how I found out just how bright he was, so it didn't make sense to me why he wasn't reading. I then had his eyes checked out and learned that he had a muscle balance problem or "lazy eye". That prompted weeks and weeks of eye exercises plus the use of a patch to encourage the lazy eye. It all worked out and the second time around he learned to read.

The consequence of having read to him and established a love of books is that not just his apt. but my house is filled with cartons and cartons of books. He can't leave Border's without spending a minimum of $50 and he has at least a dozen books he's into at any one time.

So don't worry if your daughter is a little slow in learning how to read right now.

Congratulations on making it into the teens!

biscottibody59 on 03/21/2007:
Thanks for the birthday greetings--Much appreciated!

Hope you have a good day today--congrats on the dip down to the teens--woo-hoo!

WorkingIt2 on 03/21/2007:
Congrats on the weight loss! YAY!! Sounds like your bus driver got in trouble for letting kids go to whomever without notes and that they are cracking down.

The only times I've ever had very low blood pressure was when I had bad kidney stones, and when I almost died from a very bad staph infection after the birth of my second child. Not sure what else there is that can cause it..usually stress does the opposite?

Good job on the exercise!

Donkey on 03/22/2007:
Way to go on getting into the teens! You are so inspirational, that's for sure. That bus thing would have ticked me off too. I don't see why you should have to be inconvenienced because the bus was early. But I suppose it's good that they are looking out for the younger kids. At least it gave you an opportunity for more exercise! Keep up the good work!

hollybelle on 03/22/2007:
Gee, sometimes the best laid plans - stuff just happens, huh (like the bus incident). Sorry you had such a hectic day.

Your brother-in-law definitely isn't eating enough if he only eats 1000 calories some days. There are lots of causes for low blood pressure. GENERALLY, but no always, it isn't a problem. But I am glad you referred him to some sites with information on taking better care of himself. Have fun at the recital!

What crazy weather, its snowing like crazy again, yuck!! Its supposed to warm up by Wednesday again, I hope so!!

I finished doing all of the wedding shower invitations for my sister. I will be having her shower at my place. I really need to get my spring cleaning done! I would like to have my carpets (on the stairs and upstairs) and my couches professionaly cleaned before then also. We have ceramic tile in our entrance, bathroom and kitchen and we put down an interlocking wood floor in our living room. Its not hardwood because my kids are to young still and I think they would reck it. It looks just like hardwood though but it is water and scratch resistant wich is great with small kids!!

I'm going to go to the gym today but I'm hoping I can get some cardio done before I go because I don't think I'll be able to get to the gym as early as I would like so it will be really busy there. I didn't make it to the gym at all last week! It was just to busy with both kids home (March break for Taylor) and I was amusing them so I wasn't in my usual routine. I did manage to get some exercise in at home but I like to make it to the gym at least 3 times a week. I would go more often than that but Kirt is just so busy with work that I'm lucky to manage 3 times a week. I really don't mind exercising at home but I don't have weights here and its so much more peaceful at the gym because I'm not interupted by my little ones.

Anyway, I have to go and get some serious laundry and cleaning done, I can't stand it when my house looks to messy! It just makes me so happy when its tidy and organized, ofcourse with 2 kids it seems like all I do is clean, between krafts and toys, it seems never ending!!

My girlfriend Tracy got tickets for the Faith Hill and Tim Mcgraw concert on June 25th!! Tracy, Stacey and myself will be going along with all of our Mothers!! We are making it a Mother-Daughter event, I think it will be so fun! I didn't think my Mom would want to go to a concert (even though I know she enjoys country music) but she surprised me and said she would come, YAY!! I've never been to a concert with my Mom, I think its going to be so much fun!! We may take a Limo down and go for dinner before the concert but we have to wait and see if we can all afford to do that. I really don't have the money to be buying another concert ticket but I just couldn't help myself and my husband encouraged me to go (even though we really shouldn't be spending right now!). We have so much expense coming up with all of the costs of my sisters upcoming wedding that Kirt, my 2 kids and myself are all in!! Now I get to go see Gwen Stefani on May 30th and a month later I'm off to see Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, how lucky am I:)

Hope everybody has a nice day!

Progress as of today: 11.5 lbs lost so far, only 10 lbs to go!

biscottibody59 on 03/19/2007:
Getting a break from the gym may be a good thing--changing things up even if unplanned may be just the thing!

Oh did you have to mention laundry--haha! Have a good one! (I see you're down a half-pound--woo-hoo!)

Donkey on 03/19/2007:
Now I can say "I went to the gym today too!" I hope the weather improves for you. We are expecting warm weather (before it gets cool again), but it will be raining as well. So what good is that? Well, I suppose I will take it over snow.

The concert sounds like so much fun! You are a lucky lady - but hey, life is short. It's good that you can get out and do things like this with good friends and relatives. (Yes, even something like the strip club...) <wink>

greengirl on 03/19/2007:
The weather is awful here in the UK too. Freezing, snowing. hailing, raining and even thundering, with the occasional sunbeam throw in. Weird!!!Sounds like you are going to be busy!!

WorkingIt2 on 03/19/2007:
Holy cow! Almost 3 hours in one day of exercise?? YOWZA!! Yeah, the weather here is awful...one more day of yucky weather and then NICE stuff finally..so they say LOL. Have a great evening!

sharklover on 03/19/2007:
That fake wood floor sounds better than a real wood one! I mean if it looks the same then I would go for the scratch resistant one every time!

Wow, you've got some great concerts lined up! I'm jealous. :-) And that's a really awesome idea for you and your friends to take your mothers to the show. That should be a wonderful evening. My mom took me to my very first concert, and then a few after that. She was a great sport about it all.

Spring should be coming soon! So just hold on through winter just a little longer.

Have a great night/day!

harleygirl79 on 03/20/2007:
You are an exercise junkie. Good for you. I wish I had the time to exercise that much. Keep it up. Your an inspiration to me.

sharklover on 03/20/2007:
haha well sometimes people might take it the wrong way if we just start cleaning their houses, but if you're like me than you just get pure pleasure in tidying up. I think we might be strange.

of course I know who all those people are! I didn't really know debbie gibbson or tiffany at the time, but I know who they are now, thanks to all those Vh1 shows about the different decades. But New Kids on the Block! omg, I was a huge fan! I had NKOTB folders, t-shirts, mugs, vhs tapes (i still have those and watch them from time to time). I unfortunately was a little too young to go see them, so you my friend are very lucky in my eyes. :-)

Oh and I was totally all decked out in the neon too. I just found a fanny pack that had every neon color immaginable and about 6 pairs of neon socks when I was just cleaning up my old bed room. Ah, those were the days! haha

Hope you have a great day today! and eat your veggies! :-)

Umpqua on 03/20/2007:
Great job on the exercise! Your upcoming concerts sound wonderful too. Thanks for your comment - "Simple Man" is actually my favorite Skynyrd song! I use a monitor for Jake too and it works great. We all sleep better and I wake up the minute he stirs. My Mommy radar seems to work really well in that respect.

(Counting Calories & Exercise)
Weight: 120.5

Total Calories: 1398

Water: 9 glasses

Exercise: Bike for 65 min burning 535 calories.

I didn't do great with exercise the past few days, I'll have to get back on track tomorrow. I did get some cardio at the mall on Friday (didn't end up going on Thursday) I was there for 3.5 hours, that's got to count for something!! I was on my feet the entire time:)

It has been a busy couple of days. I went to my neighbours Fantasia party on Friday and it was alot of fun. It was supposed to be around 12 people but it ended up being around 20, some people brought a friend or their sister. It was very amusing, we were all having alot of fun with the "presentation" of the adult toys. I didn't buy anything because it was all so crazy expensive. I did like some of the lingerie but I could buy the same items in any lingerie store for half the price so I wasn't going to buy anything. I always feel like I should buy something when I go to any of these types of parties (candle parties etc.) and typically I do at least buy a little something but I just don't have the extra money right now to buy things that are not needed and way to pricey. It was a fun night out with the girls though!

It was one of the neighbours birthday, so a bunch of the girls on the street invited us all out afterwards. I should have said no because I had to get up the kids in the morning and go to a very large child's b-day party which is never a good thing with no sleep or a hang over. I was enjoying myself and I decided to suffer a little the next day and go out anyway. We are all Mothers so none of us go out very much anymore so it was really nice to let loose a little.

The birthday girl's sister wanted to take her to a strip joint because she was turning 32 and had never been before. There was also another girl at the party who had never been and she wanted to go and see what it was all about. Both of these girls go to church and are rather "conservative" so I couldn't resist going and seeing their reactions, hee, hee!! I myself haven't been to a strip joint in years, they are not my thing but I'm also not easily offended and when its a large group of girls it's just kind of fun for a laugh. The Birthday girl didn't much like the experience, I think it was a little bit to far out of her "comfort zone" I had to escort her to the bathroom because she was afraid to move around alone with all the half dressed men, she was so cute!! The other girl who started off the night seeming to be very shy, really enjoyed the experience she had a really good laugh at the whole thing. (I'm sure the alcohol helped to loosen her up a little!!) They don't actually bare all in this place because I don't think they are allowed, its just really quick flashes here and there. (not that I minded, I have one at home to look at, ha, ha!!)

I had said I wasn't going to "over indulge" but I ended up doing exactly that!! I did suffer for it the next day but I really don't go out or drink all that often anymore so it was fun. I likely won't indulge like that again for a while. I did really good for calories because I had left room for "a couple" of drinks and I managed to resist the urge to munch when I got home also, which I think is alot harder with a few drinks in you. However, I didn't do so well the next day, I just wanted to eat none stop!! This used to be typical of me when I used to go out and drink more in the past to feel very hungry the next day. Yet another reason to not drink often, it makes me over eat!

I'm not sure if its because of a hang over or just because I only got a couple hours of sleep but yesturday was an absolute disaster as far as eating went. I decided I wouldn't even bother to try to total my calories and I was just going to put it behind me and start over today!! That is the first time since I've started counting calories that I haven't kept track but I just figured I didn't really want to know the damage! I think it would have only frustrated me further so I'm chalking it up to one very bad day and today I'm back on track.

Taylor had her rehearsal for her dance recital today so it was a very early morning for her and I. She really did look cute with her hair, make-up and costume on. I can't get used to my 6 yr old in red lipstick, red blush and mascara though, kind of scary. I know it's because of the lighting on stage and its only once a year. Its like we are playing dress-up for a day:) The teachers wanted the girls to all have a side ponytail, curled. That was a flashback to the 80's for me, hee, hee! When I was about her age my favourite way to wear my hair was in a side ponytail so it was kind of fun to give my daughter the 80's hair-do!! Aren't I showing my age, remember the show "Fame", or Olivia Newton John's music video with the good old leg warmers, to funny!!!

What the heck happened to "missingsmokes", she hasn't been on here in over a month?!!! I hope everything is okay with her.

I hope everybody had a great week end!!!

Progress as of today: 11 lbs lost so far, only 10.5 lbs to go!

My face is very red because I did not quite understand what a Fantasia party was until you described it here. Oh my! And then a strip joint?? You HAVE been a busy lady <wink>

Yes, put the bad day behind you and forget about it. Get right back on track!

Hey there, nice work on the calories and exercise today!

About my roommate, I am moving out when our lease ends in July. Just have to get through the semester! You are right, I do compare myself to her too much and I don't know how to stop. Freshman year I roommed with my friend since kindergarten and we definitely fought all the time; we distanced ourselves over the summer and by fall things were fine and we are stil good friends. Living with someone does change a lot, like you said!

I do make sure to appreciate my boyfriend though because he is very supportive and sweet. I think that's why I was annoyed my roommate has a nice boyfriend now LOL - that was the one thing I had BETTER than her! Ah well : )

I hate those days where you don't even want to bother with calories. I've had quite a few of those lately...

(Counting Calories & Exercise)
Weight: 120.5

Total Calories: 1499

Water: 10 glasses

Exercise: Bike for 65 min (545 cals), 20 min "Ab" pilates tape, 40 push-ups (159 cals)

Total Calories burned through exercise: 705

I have to go to the mall and get some make-up and glitter for Taylor to wear for her recital. Her rehearsal is this Sunday and they take their single and group pictures on rehearsal day so she has to be in full costume with her hair and make-up done.

I also have to get a birthday gift for my girlfriends son who's B-day party we are going to on Saturday. I guess I will get a little walking cardio while cruising through the mall. This is a very fun form of cardio for me, I do love to shop!! I am going to try to find at least one nice pair of new jeans while I'm there. I am soooo picky with the fit of jeans, it seems to take me forever to find one pair that look good and feel comfortable. I am fitting into alot of my old, smaller jeans but they are rather faded and worn so I would like a new pair with a fun, funky wash. It also seems to be challenging to find a pair that I love the fit of and the colour, I guess I'm a little bit picky:)

I've also been invited to my neighbours "Fantasia" party on Friday night. It's just going to be about 12 girls from our street. It's nice and convenient, we can all put the kids to bed and just walk over for some "adult" girl fun! I'm sure I will have a couple of drinks (I only have to walk across the road to get home ,hee, hee) but I won't over indulge since I have a kids b-day party the next day, never pleasant with a headache!!

Just barely kept my calories under 1500!! I thought I would be slightly over but I just made it:)

Have a great day everybody!!

Congratulations on the pound loss. You are doing fabulously well with all your exercise, calories, and water! You deserve some fun time as an adult, so enjoy the Fantasia party. Sounds like so much fun!!

hollybelle on 03/15/2007:
Thanks for asking - daughter is auditioning for a special summer program we have here in our state. It is called Govenor's School for the Arts. If she is accepted (which is very slim chance of - there are about 223 auditioning in dance and they can only take 25) she will take part in a three-week intensive dance program a University in our state. The kids actually live on the campus being taught by great dance instructors from all over US and the world. also - there is a scholarship component to it. If they are alumni of this program and score a certain grade on SAT/ACT and maintain a certain GPA for High School then they can get anything from a full scholarship to discounted tuition rates at some state and private universities in Kentucky and a few other states that have specialized art programs. You audition either your Jr or Sr year of high school for following Summer. It is really inconsistent who gets in and who doesn't because they have to take from all over the states. There are five audition sites. Like I said - it will just be her good luck if she gets in. Please keep your fingers crossed. Thanks again for your interest.

(Counting Calories & Exercise)
Weight: 120.5

Total Calories: 1429

Calories burned through exercise: 943

Water: 13 glasses

Exercise: Bike for 65 min (543 cals), 1200 step-ups (207 cals), 10 mins of "ab" exercises,100 squats, 160 lundges (80/leg), 100 butt lifts, 40 push-ups (the girly ones, not strong enough in my arms yet for male version), (193 cals)

I'm happily surprised that the pound didn't come back today! I will be getting in my exercise today and I will try to keep my calories in check. Maybe the fresh air made me hungry yesturday:)

This past Saturday Taylor and I went downtown to see the musical "Annie". I think they based it on the re-make of the movie not the original because there was totally different scenes in it and it was missing some of my favourite songs and parts of the movie. My girlfriend Tracy seen Annie live 3 times when she was a kid and she said it was identical to the movie so it must be based on the re-make. It was still really good though. I'm amazed that these little girls have so much talent. They have big strong singing voices and they can act and dance with so much confidence and ease on stage!! The little girl that played "Molly" was the same age as my daughter, only 6 yrs old! Taylor has always said she wanted to be an actress and a singer, its so cute. She thinks its fun, not scary to be infront of all kinds of people on stage. I love that she is so outgoing and confident, such an opposite personality of myself. I'm planning to enroll Taylor in theatre school because I know she will love to act, dance and sing on stage. The only problem is at 6 yrs old they only offer 1 class for her age group and its not a time that works for us right now.

Kirt took my son to the museum while we were at the show. Craig loved it!! They have a floor that's really geared towards the kids, very hands on and interactive. Craig got to wear safety goggles and dig in the sand for dinousaur bones, so cute!! He was so excited about it and he has been telling everybody about how "cool" it was:) I have to figure out what I'm going to do for Craig's B-day party that's coming up. I can't believe he will be turning 4 yrs old on May 1st, how quickly they grow!!

Its another mild day today at 14 C (58 F) but unfortunetly its raining.

Have a great day everyone!

Progress as of today: 11 lbs lost so far, only 10.5 lbs to go!

Hi,regarding the answer to your question, i clock up 1400cals by going on the treadmill with a speed at 5.8 and the incline @ 12% .It was a real killer at first on the ankles, but now i have got used to it.I suppose because i am heavy i have to work harder, therfore burning more calories per minute.Does that explain it,hope it does.Bye 4 now Julie

tourguidebarbie on 03/14/2007:
It's gloomy here today too... dang it! haha. Have you looked into community plays? We have one out here called Encore and it's for kids 6 - 18. You might be able to find something like that. As for the special K bar, I'm not a huge breakfast person anyways so it's me basically just trying to eat something to get me going. I could go until lunch without eating anything though... haha.

WorkingIt2 on 03/14/2007:
Hooray that the pound is still gone! YAY! =) Glad everyone had fun. I took my oldest to acting classes for years, he really enjoys the performing arts. He ended up joining a 'band' from high school and they performed at the school talent show. They were voted most popular act and they really brought down the house. My son was the singer and he was so interactive with the crowd. I was proud of him! Have a great day!

Donkey on 03/14/2007:
Way to go on losing another pound! I bet you are looking amazing! I mean, tangible results!! Wow -- you are so inspiring. Maybe the pounds will start dropping off of my body now that I've joined a gym. Good luck keeping the calories in check! I know you can do it.

hollybelle on 03/14/2007:
Well, that pound BETTER NOT show back up! Good for you! I know what you mean about the level of talent of little kids. My daughter has been dancing for 11 years and every year I am amazed at the younger ones - how much talent they have earlier and earlier. Take care. Holly

(Counting Calories & Exercise)
Weight: 120.5

Total Calories today were 1812 (very high!)

Water: didn't get all of my water in today, I only had 7 glasses.

Yah, down another pound!! I can't wait to get out of the 20's and into the teens!!! We are going to have a beautiful day today so I will be able to get outside with the kids! Ofcourse it will be wet and muddy because all the snow is melting but I'm not complaining! We are supposed to go up to 12 C (54 F).

Friday I went and got my dress for my sisters wedding. I don't love it but my sister does so that's all that matters! Its not ughly or anything I just would have picked something that was more figure flattering and in a different style. At least it's red, that is my favourite colour!! I was super excited because I tried on a size "4" and the sales lady said that it was much to big on me and I needed a size "2"!!! I was so thrilled to get back into a size 2. I was surprised that I fit into it when I weigh 10 lbs more than I did the last time I fit in a size 2. I weighed 108 lbs the last time I fit into a 2. Just goes to show that inch loss counts and lean muscle weighs more! This was super motivating for me to stay on track. I won't have any room for weight gain or I will be busting out of this dress! It is very fitted in the top, waist and hip area. Thank goodness I have lost alot of the tummy & hip bulge, not to mention the back fat!!! Hurray and good-bye back fat, I really hated that look, not so pretty:)

I have to go get myself and the kids motivated so we can get out of here. Taylor wants to go to the library and then I think I will take them out for lunch. After that if the weather is as mild as the weather network is calling for we will be able to get some fresh air and outdoor exercise!!

The weather ended up being even warmer than expected it went up to 15 C (60 F) It was sunny and beautiful, it felt like a nice spring day, sooo nice! I ate to much, didn't get all of my water in and didn't get in any exercise, but tomorrow is another day. I will likely gain that pound back tomorrow because I was naughty!! I got alot of fresh air and the kids got to go out and play with their friends on the street. They even rode their bikes, which my daughter was thrilled about! I think the fresh air has made me feel tired and I think I will sleep well tonight. Its supposed to remain mild tomorrow but we are expecting rain (I hope not!) We are also expecting it to get cold by Friday or Saturday so this is just a sneak preview of what to look forward to!! Yay, bring on spring!

Taylor lost another tooth today! Thats the 4th one she's lost since Sept.

Hope everyone had a good day!

Progress as of today: 11 lbs lost so far, only 10.5 lbs to go!

girliegirl6486 on 03/13/2007:
WOO congrats on the pound lost! How exciting! Thanks for the comment you left me, yes people always say something about how white my teeth are. It's funny no one believes me when I say I don't whiten them, and I don't! Just lucky I guess : )

Congrats on the weight loss AND getting back into that size two!

Have a good day, and enjoy that nice weather.

Wow, to be back into a dress size 2. I'm Jealous!! I haven't been a size 2 since high school! Congrats!

I lost another pound WOOHOO! I wonder if it will stick or if it's going to bounce right back tomorrow, time will tell. I started my menstrual cycle last night. I had signs that it was coming but my weight didn't go up. This could however explain my chip attacks!! I did have that talk with my husband and he agreed that he will stop buying all the chips. We have agreed that we will get them once a week for a treat for the kids and I will allow myself a tiny amount if I feel I need to that one day a week. I'm afraid if I avoid them all together it will lead me to an all out binge!! I'm going to just really limit it and hopefully one day I won't even crave them anymore, wouldn't that be nice!!

Its still rather cold outside but the long term forecast is showing this week-end we are going to go up to +6 C (44 F)!!! That would be awesome!!

This Saturday I'm taking my daughter to the theatre downtown to see the live musical "Annie". I'm so looking forward to it and she is very excited also. Does anybody remember the movie Annie? I loved it when I was Taylor's age and I watched it over and over again. I loved all the little orphans and of course all of the dancing and singing. I bought this movie for Taylor a couple of years ago and she also loves it and watches it all of the time. This should be a good Mother-Daughter bonding outing!!

Taylor got her costume for her recital last night. Her rehearsal is on March. 18th and the Recital is on March 25th. I think she is going to be so excited when she see's the brand new theatre that she will get to perform in this year, it really is very nice. It is in our city, Brampton but they have designed it like the big theatre's that are typically down town Toronto. Its not as large as the Toronto theatre's but it's the same type of layout. I went there to see Chantal Kreviazuk in November. Her husband Raine Maida (the lead singer for Our Lady Peace) is touring with her promoting his solo album that he is working on. He also co-wrote and produced her latest album "Ghost Stories" with her, which by the way is my favourite one of hers so far, I love it!

I haven't been getting to everybodies diaries like I'm wanting to lately. I'm still battling this cold so I've been trying to get to bed early at night, rest and lots of water seems to help alot.

Progress as of today: 10 lbs lost so far, only 11.5 lbs to go!

HI, i love ANNIE aswell the girls still watch it still, and so do i.It's a feel good film, another film i love is Beaches with Bette Middler i used to cry watchin it but I've watched it loads of times now, so i know what's coming.well done on your 1lb loss too,Julie

hollybelle on 03/08/2007:
Ah, the theatre. Now you are talking. I would live there if I could. Enjoy the show. Sounds like Taylor dances. My daughter, Rachel's first recital custome was bright yellow with sequins and feathers and it was called "Dancingi Ducks" you get the picture. I can still picture it myself! That was 11 years ago. She is into school and community theatre productions now at age 15. It's a wonderful hobby. All I can say it be careful it's probably addictive. Rachel's favorite movie (the one that got her asking for dance classes) was The Wizard of Oz. We knew she was onto something when she learned all the words and steps on her own at age 4! Tee-Hee!

Your mother-daughter day sounds wonderful. Enjoy!!

biscottibody59 on 03/09/2007:
Ya' know I don't remember one person being allergic to peanut butter in school, which just shows my age. I find it appalling that schools can just ban things like this. Once again we wouldn't want the real world to get into school:-) Knowing that some kid could get deathly sick is horrible, but at a certain age we should have to learn how to deal with these things--the child who is allergic as well as the child who would like to eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich at lunch.

It makes me wonder where all the USDA (here in the US) surplus peanut butter goes that would have gone to school lunch programs. hmmmmm . . .

*** Moving off my soapbox now. ***

I think your plan for the chips is a great way. avoiding completely would probably lead to a binge! nice on the cucumber, lol!!! healthy foods, nice job! I envy your milk passion, definitely not one of mine...i stick to the greek strained yogurts...i'm pretty sure they also have around 30% calcium intake. have a nice day!
