Good morning, Girls!!!

I had a weird day yesterday... The day started with stress and ended in stress. People are so annoying sometimes. Most of the time. That's why I like sports, opponents can be beaten up and they can't say a word, hihi... I should practice martial arts from now on. But then I would choose swords, to avoid getting my hands dirty... Lions make it elegant.

So, the day was weird because the weather changed radically. But really. Temperature raised 10 Celsius (50 F's!!!) all in a sudden.

So, I was eating a lot during the afternoon and evening. A LOT. I had like 3000 kcals by the end of the day, and I had to go to bed at 9 PM in order not to eat more. Then I had heatwaves. I couldn't sleep well because my body was on fire and it was getting worse and worse. I don't know if it was the temperature only, or my metabolism was working on burning the excess energy I've been adding up? Would this explain the extraordinary cold I have been feeling for most of the winter? I haven't been having enough calories in? Well, I have to read about this topic, I'm very curious...

Today, I had a nice tennis (still had the heatwaves during the training), then BB, and I'm planning badminton tonight.

Tomorrow is Saturday and I have the event I was talking about yesterday, nice and confirmed. The forecast says 10 Celcius descrease and rain for the weekend. And I have two hours of tennis booked for Sunday. The weather is CRAZY!!!!

UPDATE: I won't go to badminton, I'm going to spend a valuable evening with my man, as tomorrow I need to wake up early and will be away all day. I make a sacrifice here to enjoy a better day tomorrow and give my best! :-) My plan is the following:

10h - YOGA class

11h - BodyVibe/BodyBalance

12h - Tai Chi

13h - Massage

13h30 - Workshop: "Why can't we lose the weight we want?" (just wanna hear it and say, eventually, that I can! hehehe...)

14h - Workshop - Hairdos

14h30 - Presentation: "In control of your emotions"

15h30 - Presentation: "Money management for women"

16h - Workshop: Bra Fitting

17h - Pilates class

18h - Hair-do

19h - Exotic dance class

my day was seriously stressful as well - my boss was being a total drama queen and almost ruined our meeting with a big client. OY VEY! i also get warmer when i eat more than i normally do - there is definitely a thermogenic effect on the metabolism when you eat more which is why people "zig-zag" - its very intersting. have a great weekend! xo

haha, i totally get what you mean!! now that i am free to make my own schedule i teach during the week and on weekends - i teach a lot of private clients (i go to their homes) so its whenever they want help. i am teaching this morning from 10-11 and then working from home on my marketing projects the rest of the day. ill fit the gym and my own yoga practice in there somewhere too!

Good morning, Girlies!

I'm so broken in all aspects (money and body, LOL). I'm still pondering the BodyPump class for the evening, LOL!

I went to badminton yesterday night, and again, I swore never to return there. The coach and some other elements always let me down, and I get allergies because of the dust! Of course I return, because I'm not the giving-up type like my colleagues who haven't been coming for a time now. The problem is, I'm the only beginner there, and everybody shouts at me when I'm too slow, or I'm in a wrong place (happens 90% time of the games but I can't help it, I haven't been able to figure this out yet and screaming at me only makes it worse!). I swallow the bitter when it's the coach screaming, but when it's a 15 year old teenager with all the bad habits of a teenager (not welcoming ppl on arrival, shouting, no patience, playing half-hearted and even then giving the cold shoulder!)... it makes me mad. Maybe I'm getting old and unkind/unpatient...? In addition Master Yoda is having family problems so he didn't come yesterday. I was desperate but fortunately I was able to fix a lift home from an other fellow player.

Diet: auto-pilot is going well! I had some cookies yesterday - I now eat something relatively high in carb (a banana, a pack of 100-200 kcal fiber cookies) right before badminton trainings, and it results very well. I have more instant energy to burn on the traning itself and I don't feel tired all the time like it happened a lot before.

This Saturday I'm going to an event called "Women of Body and Mind". It's an annual event exclusively for women, and it has activities (yoga, BodyBalance, beauty workshops), body treatments (massage, acupuncture, hairdressers, make-up artists) and presentations, every hour, from 9 AM to 7 PM. I'm curious because there will be a presentation about bras, how to choose and wear the proper bra! I remembered V and her push-up tips...

UPDATE at 6 PM: Auto-pilot is not working properly today. I recognized the supid over-eating (stress reasons) today afternoon... Well, now I feel very full. I had whole grain bread and cookies - nothing special but useless and high-calorie high-carb stuff! GRRR... And I'm still into grilled chicken tonight, with my man.

Today, besides an hour of tennis, there's no contribution to weight loss... Well, let's quote Scarlett O'Hara again... Tomorrow is an other day!

I like that you don't give up! I didn't realize the badminton was so hard on you (you swore never to go back). Rude people just need to be ignored. You are there because you enjoy the game, because you want the exercise...just keep those things in mind when you feel like you don't want to return.

The event on Saturday sounds wonderful, I wish I could go too. I hope to hear all about it. It's funny you mention bras, I almost bought one yesterday, but I have a hard time finding one that fits and is comfortable.

Good morning, Girlios!

 

I could make it to BodyPump yesterday... it was great, and my body is screaming today (No, not for more, hahahah). The tennis coach remembered to make me run today morning, and the BB was great as well. Tonight, badminton. I'm going, even if I have to creep and crawl...

I have a busy day ahead today...

Food aspect: Yesterday was the 2nd auto-pilot day, and it went great!

Your comments yesterday: I guess pajamas can be sexy as well, or tight, so we keep concentrating on ourselves.  I bought tight pajamas recently and I feel great in them!

Sad note: my stepfather was transferred to hospital yesterday (on his very birthday). My mother is home alone, which doesn't make me feel any good. And then, she told me yesterday that he had been warned by the doc to let the tabacco go, because if not, they predicted less than 1 year for him... he smokes a lot, but his lungs are filled with water and he can hardly breathe. Now, if he lets it go, he can still live for some 15-20 years... Wonder if he does. Because smoking is a very bad habit, and he has a stroooong addiction... Well, I hope he comes to his senses...

About my life: my man is in the same position, nothing happened lately. Too bad. And then about me - no sign of TOM yet. It's been 2 months since I had the last period. If April passes by without it, I really have to see the doctor. I hope it does appear in the meantime.

Sorry to hear about your stepfather, I hope he will quit smoking. It is a very hard addiction to let go. I just read your post from yesterday, and yes wearing tighter clothes can deffinatly make you not want to snack and over eat. I wear tight clothes while walking or going out and about on weekends and it does help to remind me to keep what I eat under controll. They really help to show off what progress you have made. I've had a lot of nice comments when I wear them and that helps to boost my confidence too. But I have always liked tight clothes. I guess it comes from watching Dolly Parton on tv when I was younger. She wore skin tight clothes that only revieled the top of her breast and the clothes weren't like ohhh I'm so sexy come and get me...they were more like, I have a nice body and I know it and I'm confident. Or at least that's what I always thought of her.

I hope your stepfather pulls through. You're right about smoking, but people do quit everyday, so maybe this will be a wakeup call for him. In the meantime, I hope you and your mother are alright.

Good morning, Girlies!

I wish you a great day! :-) 

My 1st day of being on auto-pilot went well. I made a quick resume of foods and calories ingested and it looks like a healthy amount of 1500-1600 kcals... I made it to tennis, badminton and BodyBalance as well, so I was really happy and accomplished by the end of the day.

Today is a bit different, the weather didn't allow to play tennis, and I didn't bother to wake up early because the subway's on strike. The train is on strike on every Friday til Easter, and the subway aligns with a once-a-week morning strike. Damn, and these guys are so well-paid, it makes me angry. Subway strike affects me big time because my 15-min bus ride suddenly turns into a one hour ride (huge traffic jams), and I arrive to work so late it makes me feel bad. I can't help it... So, today I didn't go in the morning, decided to go in the evening (7 PM). Hopefully, I can make it...

I think I have the solution for the binge. At least, during the day. I noticed that getting well-dressed for the day, in new clothes or in ones that really fit well or even a bit tight, helps a lot keeping the eating behaviours and portions under control. I think it has to do with the wellness, the harmony I feel looking at my well-dressed body, even if I have more weight to lose and I don't look perfect, I look at myself, thinking of the big picture "now and back then", and I completely feel the weight of the decisions I make, I feel the power of looking better and better, and it keeps me under control.

awesome day of eating and exercise!! yippee. i feel the same way about over-eating and binging. usually when i am fully dressed and not in yoga pants all day;) i seem to do a whole lot better. i need to get started on that soon!! haha. xoxo

I'm glad your auto pilot day went well! I agree about the getting dressed part, if our clothes start to feel uncomfortable then it's time to stop eating. You have such a healthy attitude about it :)

Good morning, Girlies! 

I'm having a good day today. The weather is still tricky - rain and sun, alternated... Today the guys on the radio were singing an invented song for the rain go away and for the sun to come... ehehe... because "we are sick of the rain". So true, this autumn/winter season was terrible. I hope spring will be better. Much better because we deserve.

Yesterday I had a horrible evening. We went to the shopping mall, walked around for 2 hours, then when we got home, hell broke lose. I made a soup, and binged big time on soup and milk shake. All healthy, but still, huge doses... I don't know why does this happen... I hope it doesn't affect my weight, I'd be the first fool to get fat on veggies, hahahah... Well, I'm going to try something anyway: from today on, I'm not going to write down my menu, I'm going to put myself on auto-pilot for the next two weeks... and in addition, I won't eat after 7 PM, except for the badminton days. I have to be extra careful on weekends, dang!

So, I'm on auto-pilot, but I'm going to describe my eating / menu / calories on the next day. Let's see how it goes. I'm 82 kgs (181 lbs) now, I want to be below 80 kgs by the time I visit my mother and friends in Hungary: 13th May! ;-) Oh well, I need to buy a new swimming suit... I asked my mother to buy me one, this one from vatera.hu (like eBay). It's a used piece but I don't want her to spend too much money and this one cost like 5 bucks?! and it's a good brand and looks soooo hot! :

I'm glad to hear that they eventually got along after not showing any signs that they would... I'm definitely a little worried that our current cat Jasper will initially not be too fond of another kitty, but I think he will EVENTUALLY come around... Luckily we have a basement family room that has a door, so we can keep the Devonaire down there while we are at work for the first few days/weeks and slowly acclimate them to each other while we are home to hopefully prevent any MAJOR brawls... LOL!

Man I sure hope you can sort these binges out and here is a suggestion, perhaps go back to some of your previous posts say a year ago, or when your motivation was at an all time high!! I know you can do this Kat, this is the finish line for you my friend, is it possible that some of the anxiety is coming from being so close to your goal??? Good morning, Girlies!

Sunday it is! Daylight saving time striked, we slept 1 hour less. Nevermind, I slept a loooot anyway! I had a good day yesterday, like 1800 kcals at the end of the day but nothing unhealthy. The rest was, mostly exercise and sleeping, eheheh. OK, we went to the supermarket to buy some basics, too.

I got a bit freaked out at Pilates class yesterday, because Susana, the instructor was down with a bacterial infection... she came but she was in a terrible shape (couldn't sleep the night before and spent it in the hospital!) and she kept confirming to herself and us that she wasn't infecting anyone... so... I got freaked out because I didn't want to get sick and I knew she was contagious, it's suspicious when someone does this (talking constantly about NOT BEING contagious), isn't it...

So I opted for swimming instead of being with her for an other hour in a closed room for BodyPump. I was so sorry for her because she had to instruct Pilates, and then BodyPump and then an RPM class (uhh) before going home... Poor woman. I can go to work and lay low when I'm sick just to mark presence but she has to actively participate and give her 100% or more on these classes... and it's physical effort required, huh!!!!

I hope today will be foodwise. The dessert was made yesterday, it's a yogurt cake. The brand Tupperware has a special kitchenware that was made to do this kind of dessert. It requires: 4 cups (125 ml) yogurt, 1 cup sugar, a dose of gelatine, 200 ml cream and lots of fruits, chopped. I used low-fat yogurt and cream, and mostly stevia + some black sugar combo, but the gelatine was normal (I don't believe in "light") and the fruits were mostly from cans (peach and pineapple). Its very pretty. I feel the same way about people saying they're not contagious, because I don't think they can actually know that unless they've been on an antibiotic for something bacterial, right? It's a pet peeve of mine fo sho.

Gah, my major workplace complaint, people who come in sick and spread the joy around!! And yet, the manager made you feel guilty if you did call in sick. (I also liked the customer who comes in sick and tells you they stayed home because they were too sick to work, but they were glad to come into see you to do business!) It is a bad situation. Good morning, Girls!

The badminton night was really goooooooooooooooood. I loved it. Then we went out to eat to an all you can eat Brasilian restaurant (meats, fried stuffs, all very fatty). I had 2 Coca-Cola zero's and 2 slices of grilled ananas. I haven't eaten anything else, and the stuff people were eating all around made no effect on me whatsoever. PROUD, PROUD, PROUD!!! 

Well, I'm leaving for my Saturday Pilates + Body Pump + PowerDeep combo! Then I have to make some shopping coz I was elected to make the dessert for tomorrow's lunch at my MIL's house. They're getting a healthy dessert but I warned them they wouldn't. People are so stupid sometimes, they tend to associate healthy with "not tasty" etc... ohh well. We all know!

toast w/ ham and vanille flavour rice milk (350 kcal)

a banana

veggie soup, a banana/apple/pear milk shake, prunes, a kiwi (800 kcal)

1300 kcal

exercise: pilates, swimming (b/c bodypump prof was all sick and I didn't want to catch it), PowerDeep! :D

You've come a long way! What a journey and great for you! Are your classes at the gym part of a scripted routine? Our gym has a long list of "Body" classes.... BodyVive, BodyPump, BodyJam, etc.... I've never gone to one but they do look ineresting.

Ahhh yeah. Back to 181 lbs. Flushing was necessary after all. I'm OK now! 

My day didn't begin too well, I misunderstood the weather conditions and didn't take my racket nor my tennis shoes. I took my swimming suit and stuff for HidroCycle but went up to the courts anyway to ask the coach about the article. He was there and the courts were in conditions to play so I had to do in regular shoes (my luck is that I don't use lady shoes but comfy outdoor shoes) and with a borrowed racket (yuck...). but I did my part! One can not resist the temptation when it's about tennis!
Therefore, now I have a whole week of individual tennis classes behind me!

The BodyBalance prof didn't show up today (she warned us both on Monday/Wednesday so this was foreseen) so we had a strong Pilates class with Bruno (the coach who set my gym plans up last Thursday). I loved it. I kinda like the guy now. I didn't really like him before, dunno why.. but now he seems more sympathetic, compassionate towards me, too. So I guess my feelings changed, too.

Tonight, I'm going to badminton and then I go out with the guys, they invited me to "drink beer and eat french fries". I won't do this, of course. 1st: I hate alcohol, incl. beer. 2nd: french fries, no thanks!  But I lined up for it so I'm going, and then Master Yoda takes me home around midnight. I'm like a princess in a fairy tale - I really have to go home by midnight. It's not because I transform into a poor girl or something (I'm a poor girl anyway, hahaha) - it's because I have to wake up early tomorrow to get my workout done!!!! 

I'm a ninja, right, V? :-) We are! LOLOLOL....

Today's menu:

06H00 - a banana w/ a LF yogurt (200 kcal)

10H00 - 2 cookies w/ LF milk w/ coffee (100 kcal)

12H30 - sopa de marisco (seafood soup), a whole grain bread w/ paprika  (550 kcal), 2 kiwis and LF milk w/ coffee (100 kcal)

16H30 - yogurt frenzy w/ 2 kiwis (300 kcal)

17H30 - an apple, oranges (200 kcal), some fructose cookies from colleagues (200 kcal)

20H00 - whole grain bread w/ paprika and sardines (400 kcal)

Good morning, Girlios!

Well, I feel a lot better today. I identified the trigger of diarrhea : my stupidity! My MIL made me veggie soup on Friday, and I brought a big bowl of it on Saturday to work. But, the fridge hasn't been working well, or someone has left its door open, coz on Monday the soup didn't taste any good and it was "boiling" without heating. Even then, I ate a big part of it, and let the rest go down the toilet... so I think, this might have been the origin. At the end of the day I must have lost some 10 lbs, I've been to the toilet 10 times, without exagerating! I drank lots of liquids, I knew it was very important to do so.

I had a great badminton night yesterday! My coach said I was a shirker ........ I was very unhappy with this, because I'm very determined but I've been having a bad luck with badminton nights!!!!! Last Friday I had the football game with work people. We finished that at 9 PM, in the opposite corner of the city so I couldn't make it to badminton. And on Monday I had the migraine... I won't practice any sport with a full blown migraine upon me, sorry...

 

Today is a great day, I had tennis and an hour of gym .

Today's menu:

06H00 - milk, a toast w/ some ham (350 kcal)

10H00 - 2 cookies (60 kcal), LF milk w/ coffee (90 kcal)

12H30 - veggie soup (200 kcal), LF yogurt w/ apple (150 kcal)

14H00 - LF milk w/ coffee (50 kcal)

16H00 - an orange, two small toasts (100 kcal)

20H00 - veggie soup with veggies, a banana/apple milk shake, some bread and prunes

Grand total: 1600 kcal

I'm famous by now, LOL. The journalist's experience playing tennis
with me for 5 euros came in a two-page article in one of the biggest
national weekly magazines (Sábado). He wrote a very nice article about
me being a professional, despite of losing the game, hahaha. :-)

I am sorry it seems that nothing is going good for you, but at least you figured out what caused your illness :( I hope that your day gets better and your migrane goes away!! Love you!

How wonderful - about the article. Is there a picture? Can you post it? If we could lose 10lbs by eating dodgy soup I think we might give it a try. Humm, dunno what happened to the weight but it's back to 184,1 again. Bad behaviors pay off! 

UPDATE: OK, I have some serious flushing going on here (aka diarrhea, LOL). So, let's stick to the 184 anyway, and I'm going to check this with the scale on Sunday. Also, I haven't had TOM for two months now. (No, I'm NOT pregnant.) It must be stress related as well. Frightening, isn't it? But I keep up the positive attitude.

On the positive side: I'm FILLED WITH ENERGY! Despite of the diarrhea I've been to tennis and Body Balance already. LOL girls, here goes a friendly advice from me: don't EVER try the Intense Pose with diarrhea... eheheheheheheheeeee....

Today, 100% badminton day... the stupid headache has gone! YEEEEEEEEEEEEAH!!!!

You have been under quite a bit of stress lately and have been meandering off your normal straight track Kathy. Never mind, you know what you need to do and have the determination to overcome this small set back. "intense" pose is intense!! it's called "chair pose" in my practice and sometimes i get mad at seth because he makes us hold it for a LONG time in class. it will really heat your body up fast!! i, too, "lost" my period for about 8 months when i was stressed out and taking care of my sick mother. i am hopeful that you return to normalcy soon. i hope you have a wonderful day!! xo

Sis, maybe the few extra pounds is from no TOM. You know we tend to hold fluid before TOM comes. Stress also causes us to hold fluid. You'll be fine, just try to relax. So glad your headaches are GONE! Love you girlie
