Sunday... well, yesterday was a pretty hard day... I went to play tennis in the morning w/ my colleagues, relatively early: 9 AM. Then we went to eat w/ my man, had friendly conversations, it was very nice... then I went home, and he went to a japanese spa to get a massage I bought to him. Then we met at 18H00 (before that I went to buy shuttlecocks for my badminton rackets ) and til 22H30 we were WALKING... was very hard to me because I had my back completely ruined at Friday's phyisioteraphy... Dunno what happened that day but I was in pains at night and of course tennis didn't help... I got a bit afraid of my plans I showed you a few days ago, because 3 times tennis will require a loooot of streching before and after. Have to do this... I cannot be lazy!!!!!!!!!!! I tend to be, really. And it's a matter of 15min, dunno why can't I convince myself to do streching?!!! LAZY LAZY LAZY!!!

Ahh, BTW... I hope these guys win today!:

 Today's menu:

09H00 - "broa de lavador" with LF milk and LF cheese cream (300 kcal)

12H30 - cooked veggies, eggs, cherries and a soy yogurt (350 kcal)

14H30 - peaches (100 kcal)

22H00 - broa de lavador (this is bread) w/ LF cheese cream, ham (500 kcal)

Grand total: 1400 kcal

Progress as of today: 85.9 lbs lost so far, only 49.3 lbs to go!

Good morning!

I'm heading for tennis today morning! In two hours I'll be playing, burning thoooose darn.. extra calories I had yesterday. I 've made an other decision... the sports plan I established yesterday starts on the 15th September, because the place belongs to the state (University) and it follows the educational system standards. Lectures begin mid-September.

So my decisions are: in August, when I'm off from tennis or anything else, I will concentrate on the work in order to automise some stuff that should have been done for a long time. This means some extra time. Meanwhile I got a Pilates (swiss) ball introduced to work, and I'm going to use it and get used to it slowly. I also got an elastic chord to use at home to strengthen my back and other muscles... I want to do some gym, wonder if any accepts me for a month or I have to do it at home... I will call the univ. to ask them about swimming, maybe it's opened in August for free swimming? Dunno, worths to ask...
And an other very important decision: I will really quit eating after 19h... I need more strength to do this, but I have it, I know...

AHHHH girls, on the 14th, will you be kind enough to celebrate the 6 month anniversary of my healthy lifestyle?? I want us to say cheers to every pound I lost on the way, for them to never come back !!!

I need to lose at least 2.2 lbs til 28th July... I CAN DO IT!

Today's menu:

07H00 - a soy yogurt (100 kcal)

10H00 - a peach (100 kcal)

13H00 - sushi restaurant with friends (1000 kcal)

22H00 - 2 bites of a "sandes de leitão", little piglet meat, VERY GREASY, I really disliked it but I was sooo hungry, we were at the expo by this hour, STILL!!!!!

23H00 - "broa de lavador", an organic bread with corn and flour, with a slice of ham and a LF LC cheese (300 kcal)

Total: 1600 kcal

Progress as of today: 85.9 lbs lost so far, only 49.3 lbs to go!

Good morning, Ladies!!!

I have my plans for next year done!

DAY/HOUR 07h00 19h00
MON tennis class hidrogym. (19h45)
TUE swimming class (7h30) krav maga (18h30)
WED tennis class hidrogym. (19h45)

FRI tennis class hidrogym. (19h45)
SAT gym (9h00)

-

These are all CLASSES, with coach. I need this, because I cannot convince myself going to a gym with "free access". I am not like that. And even this, I would LOVE to do sword but the hour beats the hidrogymnastics, sword starts at 19h on Mon-Wed-Fri... I have chosen krav maga instead. Defense defense defense!!!

Krav maga: ("contact combat" or "close combat") is an eclectic hand-to-hand combat system developed in Israel which involves wrestling, grappling and striking techniques, mostly known for its extremely efficient and brutal counter-attacks, as it is also taught to elite special forces around the world.

Today's menu:

08H00 - a slice of WW toast w/ a LF laughing cow cheese and LF milk (250 kcal)

10H00 - a plain yogurt (100 kcal)

11H00 - a lovely PEACH (100 kcal)

12H30 - grilled chicken (half breast and a leg), tomatoes and a yogurt as a dessert (600 kcal)

14H00 - an other PEACH!!! (100 kcal)

17H00 - eating frenzy: 2 smaller 125gr yogurts (120 kcal) and a nectarine and cherries (150 kcal)

21H00 - 2 thin slices of WW bread w/ LF cheese cream and beetroots and cucumbers (200 kcal) and the last soy dessert I had, out of date (only 2 days :-P) 100 kcal

Grand total: 1720 kcal

Today I've found this!:

The Perfect Summer Snack for Weight Loss

One of the true delights of summer is the bounty of fresh fruits—berries, cherries and, perhaps best of all, peaches and nectarines! These super-juicy stone fruits are at their peak between June and September. Plus, peaches are great for satisfying cravings with no guilt: Not only are they low in calories—a medium-size peach has fewer than 40 calories—but they're also a good source of vitamin C.

Enjoy your peaches plain or sliced over nonfat Greek yogurt or whole-grain cereals. And although peach pie isn't something you should eat every day (though it's perfectly fine to indulge once in a while!), try this healthier version of a peach dessert that will still satisfy: Throw some slices of peach or nectarine on the grill and serve with low-fat vanilla ice cream. It's just like a warm and juicy peach pie, minus the fattening crust.

Buy peaches semisoft and eat them as soon as possible for maximum deliciousness!

Progress as of today: 85.9 lbs lost so far, only 49.3 lbs to go!

just42day on 07/09/2010:
I admire your committment and schedule! I'm sure your results will continue to be incredible! What's krav maga?

tangalyn on 07/09/2010:
sounds like ur gonna be busy.. congratulations on making the decision to move forward with activities and best of luck with them all, i know ull do great :) have a wonderful day!

"Contact combat" should definitely fight weight gain. Thanks for the info!

nosetwitch on 07/09/2010:
I wish I had your energy. Your workout schedule looks great!

geevee on 07/09/2010:
I feel the same way about fruit. I'll take it any day over any dessert, and that includes my favorites, Key Lime pie and cheesecake.

The thought ofl the cold pear I'm going to eat when I get home has me drooling. I was raving to my son about the delectable red grapefruit I was eating last night.

You are so right! There is absolutely nothing like fresh fruit.

Good morning, ladies!!!!

Today I went to make the swimming test and the gymnastics test, and then with the still wet paper I got, went to pay for the classes. So, I'm IN! I'm going to do tennis 3 times a week, SEVEN in the morning ... then, I will do hydrogymnastics and combat sports... I'm SO HAPPY AND MOTIVATED!

I'm up 2 (scale showed 242,5 today morning) lbs, but I consider it floating weight because of my difficulties of ... bathroom stuff. I do it daily but not much. I don't eat much either... well, we'll see!

Today's menu:

06H50 - LF milk w/ cereals (250 kcal)

10H30 - grapes (200 kcal)

12H00 - LF milk w/ coffee (100 kcal)

13H00 - cooked whole grain rice with german "sauerkraut" (kind of cabbage) and a plain yogurt to get it "wet" enough. (400 kcal)

16H00 - fruits (cherries, nectarine and a peach) and a bit of a healthy cookie  - (300 + 50 kcal)

21H00 - veggie soup w/ a slice of WW bread

Grand total: 1600 kcal

Progress as of today: 85.9 lbs lost so far, only 49.3 lbs to go!

Umpqua on 07/08/2010:
That's wonderful about your exercise classes!

Umpqua on 07/08/2010:
I got the exercise bike for free. Someone had it out by the side of my road for garbage pickup and I grabbed it. It's heavy so it wasn't easy to get in my car! It was probably made in the 1970s but it gets the job done.

Trophster on 07/08/2010:
Wow your exercise plan sounds amazing. You are my motivation.

geevee on 07/08/2010:
Your problem will be solved with those fruits. Also, a cup of cleansing tea works wonders.

Trophster on 07/08/2010:
Thank you for your words. You are right, we don't walk alone. Walking alone makes it that much harder and I think that is what got me in trouble the first time around. The help I am getting now really works. Thank you.

Air conditioning is dead at work, and we're facing over 100 F's (35-40 Celsius)... it has been like this for a while... They set up a ventillation here, but it's awfully noisy and I got an eating frenzy over it. I have to control this better because all I want is being out of this office, far from the noise, far from the hot room (I'm sharing w/ 7 ppl)...

GREAT NEWS: I have built my excercise plan for the next season (September). This is it:

Mon - Wed - Fri: Hidrogimnastics (50 min)

Tues - Thu: Tennis (1 hour)

Saturday: Pilates and a Swimming class.

I could get these, and free access to the gym, for 90 euros/month. It's a VERY GOOD price for these type of excercises (where one has a coach and helper constantly).

Today's menu:

08H00 - a slice of WW bread w/ LF cheese cream and 2 slices of turkey ham, LF milk (300 kcal)

10H00 - 250 gr grapes (200 kcal) and a coffee w LF milk (100 kcal)

13H00 - cooked whole grain rice with veggies (350 kcal) and a nectarine (80 kcal)

between 14H00 and 18H00 - cherries (blagh!!! This time they were horrible...), nectarines (ADOOOORABLES!!!) - 300 kcal

21H00 - veggie soup and a slice of finnish rye toast w/ LF cheese cream, 2 slices of turkey ham and veggies - 400 kcal

Grand total: 1800 kcal

that exercise plan sounds awesome! Good job planning ahead too! Try to stay cool!

liza36 on 07/07/2010:
I think you've got an excellent exercise plan - it has variety, it's 6 days a week, and it sounds like things you will enjoy. Now if only I could do the same, maybe I'd have some success like you! Exercising once a month is doing nothing for me - ha!

legcramps on 07/07/2010:
Good plan! Sorry to hear it's so hot in the office - over here, the a/c blasts all day long. I wish it would break!!

tangalyn on 07/07/2010:
so amazing u would say that in my comments today because as i was taking a bath, i decided i would record my gain, might as well accept it and get it over with! thanks for reassuring me tho... have a great day, i hope things cool down for u :)

geevee on 07/07/2010:
Yes. Mexican food has really grown in popularity. I love it too.

I'm one of those "whole grainers" so I stay away from fast food places where I used to live. That's how I got so fat!

liza36 on 07/07/2010:
Greek yogurt has many benefits - it's higher in protein, higher in calcium and other nutrients. I'm sorry you don't have it there, it may become my new favorite food.

geevee on 07/07/2010:
My son hasn't weighed in about a week because he hasn't been running. He's working on portion control, a BIG thing for him! He hasn't complained at all about the recent low calorie vegetarian dinners although he loves meat as I do. I've reduced the amount of it I eat because of the calories.

My son has been very good and eats all the right foods: loads of fruits and vegetables.

Umpqua on 07/07/2010:
So sorry to hear about the air conditioning. We're having a heat wave and it's miserable in places that don't have it. But look on the bright side, maybe you'll sweat out a few pounds! :)

You live in Lisbon? I'm very jealous! I think my favorite vaca place in the world is Lagos! Holy hotness though! Try and stay cool!

skinnygrlwithin on 07/05/2010:
lol... alright alright you're right... I guess I should have said what I had haha... so saturday night I had steak for dinner with asparagus but only ate half... but there was some margarine on the steak while it was cooking... and yesterday I had half a strawberry coolata from DD SO YUMMY!! and then I had 2 nachos (they serve 8 HUGE tortilla chips with all the stuff on it) from TGIF, and a beer and a half... but I was good with my actual dinner and got a very low calorie low carb dinner (shrimp skewers with salad) and didn't even finish it... haha so I guess what I meant was I didn't go completely nuts with all sorts of junk food... I just ate like 600 more calories then I'm used to lol

skinnygrlwithin on 07/05/2010:
Yes I would consider yourself lucky not knowing what nachos are because I think they are one of my favorite foods and would rather not know lol... as for 115 lbs... I don't think its very low... I'm 5'1" tall... when I was eating a decent amount (not counting calories) athletic and younger my weight stayed between 107-112 so I figured since I'm a bit older now I would give myself a few more pounds of flexibility ... I'm not really trying to be skinny for looks (even though it is a nice side effect) but I want to lose the weight because I gain it in unhealthy places like my stomach and I have little rolls and cellulite on my hips and upper thighs now. I feel better and more comfortable in my own skin when I'm more toned.

I will definitely have to go through your pics... I didn't get to see much of Lisbon as I only spent time at the airport (which wow that was the biggest airport by far I've ever been in!! either that or I was just really confused and nervous because I was in a country alone and didn't spea much of the language) and a hotel very late at night... it reminded me a bit of NYC with all the traffic though!

legcramps on 07/05/2010:
Wow, 39 degrees. Enjoy!

Goodies, ladies!

Yesterday I went to try a gym: step aerobic. Weeeell... I'm left handed. And I was doing everything wrong... I felt crap. I don't know if I continue in this gym, though as my luck, my colleague is finally interested in going with me. I couldn't find anyone for tennis nor aquafitness - only gym. Horrible... It's VERY difficult to me...

The thing is, I don't mind going alone. :-) I'm doing tennis classes alone and I will get myself into aquafitness alone, too. There will always be someone there at the place to practice, even if I don't know them NOW I will get to know them better.

Today's menu:

08H00 - two thin toasts w/ Laughing Cow cheese (finally, AGAIN! :-)) and LF milk (350 kcal)

10H00 - an ORANGE (yessss, it was very nice but it's a late orange) (50 kcal)

13H00 - a grilled drumstick w/ salad (500 kcal because it had olive oil)

15H00 - cherries and a soy yogurt (200 kcal)

17H00 - 3 WW toasts (150 kcal) w/ diet strawberry jam (100 kcal) (250 kcal)

21H30 - a yogurt and a slice of WW bread w/ LF cheese cream (200 kcal)

Total: 1600 kcal

Avoid food products with the wordoid “lite” or the terms “low-fat” or “nonfat” in their names.
The forty-year-old campaign to create low-and nonfat versions of traditional foods has been a failure: We’ve gotten fat on low-fat products. Why? Because removing the fat from foods doesn’t necessarily make them nonfattening. Carbohydrates can also make you fat, and many low- and nonfat foods boost the sugars to make up for the loss of flavor. Also, by de monizing one nutrient—fat—we inevitably give a free pass to another, supposedly “good,” nutrient—carbohydrates in this case—and then proceed to eat too much of that instead. Since the low-fat campaign began in the late 1970s, Americans actually have been eating more than 500 additional calories per day, most of them in the form of refined carbohydrates like sugar. The result: The average male is seventeen pounds heavier and the average female nineteen pounds heavier than in the late 1970s. You’re better off eating the real thing in moderation than bingeing on “lite” food products packed with sugars and salt. (M.P.)

Progress as of today: 81.5 lbs lost so far, only 53.7 lbs to go!

I can totally relate. I can't keep up with areobics routines to save my life! And once I finally get the manuever down, the instructor has moved on to another routine! haha :)

Have a good weekend!
