I'm sad, my man went to Egypt for a week. I'll be alone with our cats. I told him, I'd die in hunger, cold and sadness because there's noone to feed me (he cooks at home), noone to warm me up in the bed, and noone to give me sweet kisses every day... But he told me that 7 days go fast. OF COURSE it will, in Egypt! But in Lisbon, for me, working, and being alone, will pass sloooooow.

Ahh, the doctor yesterday: Nothing still. Have to do more exams and visit a spine specialist... So, there's more money to pay and time to pass til I know any answer...

BTW... I weighed in! One kg less. :-)

Today's menu:

08H15 - a toast with LF milk and coffee substitute (250 kcal)

15H00 - two toasts with LF LC cheese and slices of chicken breast ham (let's say 500 kcal)

17H50 - a yogurt (60 kcal)

19H00 - an apple (80 kcal)

Grand Total: 900 kcal

Progress as of today: 51.3 lbs lost so far, only 44.8 lbs to go!

panda22 on 05/01/2010:
Great loss! I hope you are able to find things to pass the time quickly! It's always hard being separated from our men!

FitAmbitions on 05/01/2010:
WOW Egypt- how amazing!!!! You asked me about how I measure BF... I have 2 ways I track it... first I use Fitday (https://wwws.fitday.com/Crm/SupportHome.html) to log my day to day and my body measurements, then I go to Body Tracker (http://www.linear-software.com/online.html) to input my data and get the BF% and info (use the woman's at the bottom of the page) I purchased the Fitday program a while back so I have the cd and it's installed on my computer. It may have changed some but all in all I like it a lot. I hope this helps, if you have any other questions I'd be happy do help if I can!!

tangalyn on 05/01/2010:
congrats on the loss.. thats great.. i know how u feel, my man will be leaving for a week or so too.. he leaves in 4 days.. so ill be alone with my cat too hehe

Good morning!

I feel awful. I have a constant headache for 3 days now... The weather is simply stupid!!! Too frequent temperature changes kill me.

I have new plans from today on. To use geevee's son's words, I'm taking the kitchen as a com. restaurant open til 19H (7 PM) only... I have to study this plan, I have to build a scheme to have dinner here at work maybe, as I'm leaving around 7 PM everyday. This will double the weight I have to carry, and I always eat a soup for dinner so it's a delicate thing to carry in a backpack... We'll see. I'm going to put this plan in action and will study how it goes... I'll let you know.

And I'm going to point out the calories from today on, so I can have a perfect sight on the final value of the day.

Today's menu:

07H30 - toast with LF milk (200 kcal)

11H30 - a pear (60 kcal)

12H30 - white rice with some chicken meat (let's say 500 kcal) and a rapsberry mousse (0% fat, 50 kcal)

15H30 - a yogurt with a pear (110 kcal)

20H30 - soup (300 kcal) + 2 sugar-free chocolate almonds (a dose, 4 pcs has 115 kcal, so we can say these two had 60 kcal)

Grand total: 1300 kcal

Progress as of today: 48.3 lbs lost so far, only 47.8 lbs to go!

geevee on 04/30/2010:
I'm impressed with how consistently you've been losing weight! 48 lbs. is no little feat!

My son will be very happy to hear that you, too, have com. kitchen hours! It's really a good idea.

Goodie morning :-)

I had tennis!  On the other hand I'm down. I'm very nervous about tomorrow. I have the X-rays and it says I have 3 vertebrae's deformed... I'm the hunchback of Lisbon... . I wonder if I can do anything about it.

Today's menu:

06H30 - LF milk w/ cereals

09H30 - a cookie (27 kcal)

10H30 - 1 yogurt (LF) with an apple

11H50 - a slice of swedish toast, WW, my colleague gave me to try

12H45 - a slice of meat (pork, grilled but rather fat) and aspargus and a laughing Cow cheese, a yogurt

16H00 - cranberry mousse (90gr, 0%fat, 50kcal)

19H00 - mini toasts (50 kcal) with a cheese (LF LC)

21H00 - grilled chicken meat with some cooked white rice

Progress as of today: 48.3 lbs lost so far, only 47.8 lbs to go!

tangalyn on 04/29/2010:

Umpqua on 04/29/2010:
Yay for tennis! And I hope everything goes OK for you tomorrow.

geevee on 04/29/2010:
A scoliosis or deformity detected early in a child's life sometimes can be corrected with the use of special braces. Sometimes a body cast is used. But after growth is completed, i don't think there's much that can be done.

Any kind of back surgery is serious busiess, can be very painful and requires a lot of rehab.

Sorry to be so negative, but I've never heard of anything positive for adults.

Umpqua on 04/29/2010:
I'm just having loose canned corn tonight, corn on the cob isn't in season here yet. But when it is we often wrap it in aluminum foil and cook it on the BBQ, it's delicious that way!

sweetpea1977 on 04/28/2010:
Happy Wednesday! Hope you're having a good week!

geevee on 04/28/2010:
About that half pound. I didn't really gain a half pound. I had been 138-138.5 for some days and then on Sat. was 137.5, so I corrected my original wt. posting. The library is closed on Sun. so I couldn't correct the weight until Mon when I was back to the usu;al 138.

My body is clinging to every globule of fat it can and just doesn't want to get lighter!

Drinking water is not a problem for me. I drink it throughout the day and evening and love it. No soda for me; just plain water.

nita51 on 04/28/2010:
Hey Sis, Don't you just hate it, when we plateau? You're so right, no food is worth it. I promise, I won't give up. NEVER! Love Ya Sista Girl,

Hello all...

No tennis today - I'm working from home... GREAT.

Today's menu:

07H45 - LF milk with cereals

11H00 - an apple

13H00 - two slices of turkey breast, grilled w/salt and pepper, a cucumber (raw) and 3 slices of toast w/ LF cheese.

14H00 - a yogurt

15H30 - a yogurt + 2 WW cookies (without sugar, 27 kcal each)

21H00 - veggie soup

FINALLY I ran out of these WholeWheat toasts I had here... I got stuck with them, a bit boring and as you know I'm trying hard not to get hooked on anything (repeating food on a daily basis is vicious, addictive).

Progress as of today: 48.3 lbs lost so far, only 47.8 lbs to go!

Thanks Kathy. I hope you find the job you want. Trust me, be very thankful you already have a job. It's brutal out there. This is the 3rd time I've been downsized out of a job. I sure wish I didn't have to work (because I'm very skilled at being lazy) but the reality is I have to. Onward! Have a great day.

sweetpea1977 on 04/27/2010:
Aww, Im sorry you are stuck working at home. I hope find a way to to fit some "me" time in today...even if its a short walk outside. Hugs!

hollybelle on 04/27/2010:
Thanks for the comment about not eating feelings, Kathy - I have been thinking about emotional eating a lot lately and what it means. Just something I came up with - I made another comment about it on Sweetpea's post. Going to try to identify actualy hunger - not emotion eating and satisfy the actualy hunger with GOOD food. Sounds like a plan, huh?

Umpqua on 04/27/2010:
Sorry you're stuck at home today Kathy. The "power walk" is just my description of a regular walk. I do about 2 miles on a local greenway trail with my boys. The "power" part comes in when they get tired and I have to push about 60 pounds of them in the double stroller. I try to ramp it up and go fast at that point and I can feel the burn!

nita51 on 04/28/2010:
Hey sis, you're doing a good job. working out from home, is far better than not working out at all. Take Care,,,,

Today I'm feeling well again. I had to wait 40min for the train to come - the Portuguese Trains are doing a manifest during 3 days. Tomorrow it'll be on a national level, so the public transports will be blocked. GREAT... This means I'm still thinking about the tennis tomorrow - if I go or not, because of this... It's not walking distance at all.

Today's menu:

07H30 - LF milk with cereals

10H30 - a yogurt

12H45 - a slice of meat with cooked veggies (same as yesterday's lunch)

14H30 - a yogurt

17H00 - an apple

20H30 - veggie soup, 3 slices of WW toasts with a slice of turkey breast (grilled) and some LF cheese cream and cucumbers

Guys, I have to tell you a funny story... Last Sunday my mother-in-law gave me a small potato, made in the oven. It was a very small potato cut in half. I haven't had a single potato since January... and imagine, I ate half, and it was SOOOO SWEET I didn't like it! Me, who ALWAYS loved potatoes and preffered it to anything else! I passed the other half to my Man who got very happy... A little triumph of the moment.

Progress as of today: 48.3 lbs lost so far, only 47.8 lbs to go!

hollybelle on 04/22/2010:
Isn't it odd to think how different certain foods taste when we haven't had them in awhile? Who knew potatoes were sweet? I am struck how many food are naturally sweeet when I haven't had sugar for some time.

mskitty on 04/22/2010:
way to go on the 48lbs so far you'll have to throw a party when you hit 50 pound mark!

geevee on 04/22/2010:
That happened to me with Checker's fries, THE BEST. When I finally decided to give myself a treat lasttime around I chose these fries and was shocked when I realized I hadn't missed a thing. They weren't as good as my memory told me they were.

sweetpea1977 on 04/22/2010:
I laughed at the comment you left me. $1000 for each pound lost would definitely keep me motivated!:-)

What a great story about the potato being too sweet for you. Its great to realize when you can live without your old food choices. I feel the same about soda and the majority of fast food.
