(THE FUN DIET (Have your cake and eat it, too!))
Weight: 156.5

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Hello to you! Hope you're having a nice day!

Did some more shopping today...Mom will be getting a new telephone and some nice, supportive 'unmentionables' (hehe!) for her birthday instead of the blow dryer. Also, got her a very pretty cake, has a lot of orange icing borders around the white cake, some matching flowers, some colorful sprinkles, I think she will like it! Also picked up a gallon of ice cream, neapolitan, among some other things for the party Sunday afternoon we're giving her.

Today's Menu:

Note: Sometimes I try to guess as closely as I can on calories and measurements if I'm not sure of EXACT calories and measurements, but I do use restaurant calorie guides as well as food calorie guides online.

Breakfast: 1/2 sandwich consisting of 1 multi-grain bread, 70, and 1 fatfree cheese, 30.

Snack: 1 peppermint candy, 20.

Lunch: 1 McD's small cheeseburger, 310, 1 McD's apple pie, 250.

Snack: 1 large apple, 100.

Supper: Grilled turkey burger with a little ketchup and mustard minus the bread, 250, small salad consisting of 1 cup lettuce, 15, 1 tbs. fatfree thousand island dressing, 20, 3/4 baked sweet potato, 135.

Today's Total: 1200 calories (or close to it).

Exercise: 3.00 miles, include some high elevations,-185 calories deficit.

Tomorrow is Good Friday. It is the day we observe of the day our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ gave His Life to save you and me. Because of Him, we who believe in Him have the gift of eternal life in Him...we have a home waiting for us when we leave this world where we will never suffer again...a home of pure love, peace, joy, and beauty. There is NOTHING in this world that can compare with this. We, who belong to Him (Jesus) have that gift of eternal life NOW...we don't have to wait til we leave this world to have this precious gift, we have it now. We can know peace, joy, love now because we belong to Him. One day, Jesus is going to come back...He is going to return to earth...if you are not ready and waiting and watching for His return, guess what? You will have missed out on the most important thing life has to offer! So, if you are not saved, now is the time to repent of your sins, ask His forgiveness, and believe on Him...Jesus shed His blood and gave His life for your forgiveness....He took YOUR place on the cross because He LOVES YOU! Won't you ask Him to be your Lord and Saviour today?

Remember...Jesus loves ya and so do I!

Love, Maria (smile!)

Progress as of today: 13 lbs lost so far, only 1.5 lbs to go!

Hello to you! Hope you've had a real nice day today! It's been sunny and warm again today in South Carolina, USA! (80's fahrenheit).

I did a little shopping for my Mother's Sunday afternoon birthday party today...BTW, my Mother, Lord willing, will be 75 Sunday (Easter). I still have some more shopping to do, however... I asked her how she felt about blow dryers, since I got her one, and she absolutely does NOT!!!! ever want one...doesn't like them! Guess I'll be taking that back. I picked her up this afternoon and brought her over here and she and I had a barbequed chicken grill-out on the back deck. We each had a lounge chair that we were in while the chicken was grilling on the rotissiere and we talked and enjoyed hearing the birds singing and the sunny, nice, warm weather!

Today's Menu:

Breakfast: 1 grilled cheese sandwich made with 2 multi-grain bread, 140, 2 fatfree cheese, 60, and 2 tbs low-cal margerine,100.

Snack: 1/2 small box boston baked beans (candy), 70, 1 chocolate covered cherry, 60, and 1 pack of peanut M&M's, 250.

Snack: 3 reduced fat peanut butter/cheese crackers, 90.

Supper: Part of a barbequed chicken leg, 145, 1/2 cup rice with a little gravy, 200, and a small lettuce salad with 1 cup lettuce, 15, 1 tbsp. fatfree thousand island dressing, 20.

Today's Total: 1150 calories.

Exercise: 2.17 miles, include some high elevations,-141 calories deficit.

Hello to you! Hope you're having a real nice day today! It's sunny and warm again here in South Carolina, USA!

Went shopping at the second-hand store again today and found 3 nice shirts for $1.99 each and got them....Probably would have been $20.00 each or so if I'd bought them new.

Then I went and visited my Mom a little while and asked her if it would be okay if I give her a little birthday party on her birthday Sunday afternoon? She said yes and was delighted!!! (Hope she feels the same Sunday.)

Anywayyyyy....planning, Lord willing, on Hubby and I having a steak grill-out on the back deck after he gets home from work. That 'should' be in about an hour or so....I'm hungry and I just ate some okra...so that should hold me til steak-time!!! (And 'Taters' time!!! Hehehe!)

Today's Menu:

Breakfast: 1 banana, 110 and 1/2 sandwich made of 1 multi-grain bread, 70, and 1 fatfree cheese, 30.

Snack: 1 snack-size raisin cake, 150, and 1/2 apple, 45.

Lunch: 1 Krispy Kreme glazed donut, 200.

Snack: 1 cup microwaved okra, 50.

Supper: 1 medium-sized grilled chuck steak, 300, a few homefried potatoes, 165, other half apple, 45, small lettuce salad with 1 cup lettuce, 15, 1 tbsp. fatfree thousand island dressing, 20.

Today's Total: 1200 calories.

Praise the Lord for healing your mom :O).. and wow 75.. thats awesome !!... good for her.. :O)..

as for playing with the kids.. we do that often.. more Chris (DH) then me.. only because they play this card game.. and I know nothing about it.. doesnt interst me..lol.. and he plays video games with them.. I dont play those either.. but we do play regular cards with them and board games.. the kiddos are number 1 if you ask me.. and if we can be their for them.. they wont get into all the trouble most other kids get into..thats the reason I work part time.. only 3 days a week.. and right next door.. I know where my kids are at all times.. I know sometimes it is hard for some parents to know these things.. because they are working full time jobs... I am sure that if I were to work full time somewhere else and made better money.. we would have more.. material things.. so to speak.. but.. my kids are more important to me.. not saying theirs arent.. expecially single parents.. but this is what we have chose.. and when the kids are grown.. then we can worry about other things.. but for now... me being here for my kids is number one..anywho.. I could go on and on..lol.. but I shall hush... I hope I dont offend anyone here if they read this.. just my opinions here.. :O)..

Maria.. you have a great evening.. hugs sweetie.. God Bless.. :O)

Hi Maria!

I read a bit about Myrtle Beach and it looks totally gorgeous! Hubby and me would have to include that in our trip after next trip to America! I think they play gholf also there sometimes, realy beautiful.

If i may ask, how old is your mother? It sometimes bothers me that my mother gets older, she is 60 this year and sometimes i just think how on earth i will manage to take care of her etc when she gets older, as she is/was the one that took care of me all these years. Oh well, i guess i just feel guilty and because of that i will never live overseas permanently or emigrate because i would always feel this huge responsibility towards my parents, which is quite natural i presume but oh well. Just wanted to share a thought.

Have a great day!

Welna

Hello to you! Hope you're having a real nice day today! It's sunny and warm here in South Carolina, USA!

I just got back from exercising at the gym and visiting with my Mother. Her birthday is Easter and I got her a blow dryer for her hair, which she curls herself but she doesn't have a blow dryer...so she'll have one now, come Easter. I don't know what else I'm going to get her yet. I thought about giving her a birthday party, only thing is, she feels different on different days and if I arrange one and she's not up to it I'll have to call it off....hum....

Today's Menu:

Brunch: 1 steak biscuit, 400, 1/2 apple, 45.

Snack: 1 snack-size raisin cake, 150.

Another snack: 1 small cheese pizza, 410.

Supper: 1 cup microwaved okra, 50, other half apple, 45, 1/2 ear corn, 100.

Snack: 1 small popcorn, 100.

Today's Total: 1200 calories.

Exercise: 21 laps around basketball court and weights work-out.

Btw, I usually go back and adjust entries according to whether I have the popcorn snack or not.

It's weird but I seem to be getting full easier than I used to....hum....

Oh, good news....(hehehe, here comes vanity)...I am now wearing my FAVORITE size 12 jeans....my oldie-goldie size 12 black levi 550's non-stretch. Even wore them to church last nite for the kids program. This was one of my goals! My other goal is to be 155 and fit into 'all' my old size 12 levi jeans comfortably and not snugly (only lack 2 of them) by April 19th, as Hubby and I, Lord willing will be leaving for our l-o-n-g weekend beach vacation the 20th!!!!

Have a good afternoon and remember...Jesus loves ya and so do I!

New number is 157.0!!!

I went back over to the flea market again this morning...lots of people there...but I didn't get anything....at least not there...(hehehhe!!!) Then I left and went 'SHOPPING' and tried on a pair of size 12 levi jeans and THEY FIT!!!!! (hehehehe!) and got them. I also wore an old pair of size 12 levi jeans today...weird, but 3 other size 12 old levi jeans I've had a long time are still a little too small to wear.....hum.....

Anyway, I came back home and had a call from my Mom wanting me to run an errand for her, which I did and visited her a little while.

Came home and fixed supper for Hubby...hotdogs and french fried potatoes. (He's a meat and potatoes man when it comes to food.)

I haven't eaten much today...although I did stop at a store in between the flea market and going shopping and did get a little raisin cake, 240 calories and gobbled that up, hehehehe! (Sure could have been more....they had fried chicken at that store that I walked out and left! It smelled SOOOOOOO GOOOOOOD!!!

Anyway, here is today's menu thus far:

Breakfast: 1 poached well-done egg, 80, 2 multi-grain bread, 140.

Snack: 1 small raisin cake, 240.

Lunch: 1 banana, 105, 1/2 small box boston baked beans, 70, and part of an apple, 65.

Supper: 1 hotdog (that Hubby left on his plate and it was NOT fatfree, thus adding 80 more calories, but oh, well,...sometimes a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!), 250, a few french fried potatoes, 150.

Snack: 1 small 100 calories bag of 94% fatfree lite butter popcorn, 100.

Today's Total: 1200 calories.

I even know how to make spaghetti pasta.. you take a squash.. cut it into.. bake it and take out the strings.. use that as your pasta.. add sauce and there ya go.. I just love this.. and my cauliflowwr mashed "taters".. they taste just like the real thing.. I dont feel like I am missing anything.. :).. ok enough about my low carbing.. hehehe.. Hello to you!

Hope you've had a wonderful day today! Every day is a good day with the Lord!

As for me, I went to a flea market in another town over this morning and a woman was selling some bed outfits she had made. I bought a set and it has flamingos and large palm (I think they are) leaves and very, very colorful...green, blue, yellow, orange, etc. Brought it home and it looks terrific on our bed! It is a comforter, 2 large long pillows, and 2 square pillows.

Then, a little after this, I took my Mom to her appointment at the eye doctor. After we left from there I stopped at Krispy Kreme and got us each a fresh, warm, glazed donut, yum!

After taking her home, I came home and cooked supper for Hubby and me...hamburger steak and french fried potatoes for him and just a hamburger for me.

Today's Menu:

Breakfast: 1 fatfree cheese sandwich with multi-grain bread, 200, part of a banana, 55.

Lunch: The other part of the banana, 50, and most of an apple, 100.

Snack: 1 peanut butter/cheese cracker, 30.

Snack: 1 Krispy Kreme donut, 200.

Supper: 1 hamburger with ketchup and mustard and multi grain bread, 365.

Today's Total: 1000 calories.

Some walking, not as much as usual, though.

Have a good night.

Remember...Jesus loves ya and so do I!

Hello to you!

Hope you've had a good day today!

Mine has been busy...paying bills, buying groceries....shopping at the second-hand store...I found Hubby and me 2 shirts each...all for less than $7.00! Something to maybe take with us on our l-o-n-g weekend beach vacation coming up in 2 weeks, Lord willing.

Hubby and I grilled out steaks on the back deck after he came home from work, then after we ate, we decided to work on our new patio set, and put together a large rectangular glass-top table which has 6 chairs and an umbrella that came with it. So, we're glad we've got that completed. Next is yard work...load and haul off limbs that fell during a little wind the other day and haul off an old swing.

Today's Menu:

Brunch: 2 sweet little peanut butter cookies (Nekot), 80, 2 lowfat peanut butter/cheese crackers, 60, 2 bananas, 210.

Lunch: Krispy Kreme honey-glazed donut, 200.

Snack: Dairy Queen 2/3 of a small cone of chocolate ice cream, 100.

Supper: Small piece of grilled-out steak, 250, 1 cup lettuce, 15, 1 tsp. fatfree thousand island dressing, 10, 1/2 cup baked okra, 25, 1/2 cup baked squash, 50.

You are doing a great job of exercising and staying at a good calorie count each day. Good for you. The other day you talked about wanting to snack at 11 PM but resisted. That's a great victory. I have the same problem in the evenings. It's where I can do some serious damage if I let myself. You showed some great restraint, good for you!

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Hello to you!

Hope you are having a TERRIFIC day!

I picked up a friend this morning and she and I went and got some breakfast, then went walking, then grocery shopping. She got us a small honey bun each and I sure couldn't resist mine!!!

Today's Menu:

Brunch: Steak biscuit, app. 400, small honey bun, yummy, 360.

Snack: 1 banana, 105

Supper: 1 large corn on the cob, microwaved and 1 cup baked okra and squash medley, 335 cals.

Today's Total: 1200 calories.

Exercise: 23 laps around a large basketball court and workout with weights.

No, I didn't give in to snacking last nite at 11 pm...but I SURE WANTED TO!!!!

I think I would have been down a little more today had I not had a very high-sodium diet again yesterday, as I did Monday...but, oh well.

I'm going to read entries...remember...Jesus loves ya and so do I!

Love, Maria (smile!)

Progress as of today: 10.5 lbs lost so far, only 4 lbs to go!

(THE FUN DIET (Have your cake and eat it, too!))
Weight: 160.0

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Hello to you!

I'm up one, but I should have expected it...I usually am after I eat a high-sodium hotdog the day before.

Today's menu:

Breakfast: 1 scrambled egg, no oil, 80, 1 multi-grain plain toast, 70.

Lunch: 1 small cheese pizza, 410, and 1 snack-pack of Lance nekot (sweet/peanutbutter) cookies, 240.

Snack: 1 fatfree cheese, 30, 1 multigrain bread, 70. (Sandwich)

Snack: 1 small bag of 100 cal 94% fatfree popcorn, 100.

Supper: Turkey, dressing, gravy, mashed potatoes, and green peas (tv dinner), 230.

Today's Total: 1230 calories.

11 p.m....I just want to say I AM HUNGRY...but not giving in. If I go into the kitchen and get started, I'll probably eat 1000 calories!!! NOT!

Exercise: Walked 10 laps around basketball court and ran some errands for my Mom.

Have a good day and remember..Jesus loves ya and so do I!

Love, Maria (smile!)

Progress as of today: 9.5 lbs lost so far, only 5 lbs to go!

Congrats to you for not giving in to the HUNGER! Its getting winter here as you might know and its getting more and more difficult to fight the hunger pangs off.

Your food choices sounds so delicious and you seem to keep it under 1500 which is really good, keep it up!
