Hello to you!

Breakfast: Home: 1 scramble egg, 1 plain toast, 150 cals

Sunday School Class: 1/2 choc glazed donut....125 cals

(Note: Before going out to lunch, I decided my calories limit for today's total would be 1700, so with this in mind, I decided to do about 900 cals regular food and 300 cals desert at lunch, totaling about 1200 cals for lunch.)

Lunch at Golden Coral Buffet Restaurant (Hubby's fav): 1 yeast roll, 190 cals, 1/2 small cup honey butter, 30 cals, 1 small salad with 1 tbsp. sunflower seeds and 2 tbsps. thous island dressing, 160 cals, 2/3 piece cheese pizza, 150 cals, 1 small corn on the cob, 105 cals, very, very little steak and fried chicken, 150 cals, 1 small sweet potato, 140 cals, 1 cup soft serve ice cream, half vanilla and half orange sherbert, 200 cals, 1 tbsp peanuts and 1 tbsp hot fudge, 100 cals. (And to think I used to eat MUCH, MUCH more than this!!! And this required RESTRAINT!)

Snack at home at 2:15 pm: 1 banana, 100 cals and 1 bag of lite butter popcorn redenbaucher, 100 cals, that Soonie told us about (and what a big little bag; I'd thought it would only be half that size for 100 cals!!!)

Lots of water.

Total calories for day: 1700 calories (a maintain amount)

Goalweight: 155 by (Lord willing) April 19th. (Hubby and I, Lord willing, plan to leave for our l-o-n-g weekend beach vacation the 20th and I want to be at goal weight and back to wearing my old size 12 levi jeans comfortably, not snugly and I am not even into them yet.)

Going to read entries. Have a good day and remember...Jesus loves ya and so do I!

Love, Maria (smile!)

Progress as of today: 9.5 lbs lost so far, only 5 lbs to go!

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Hello to you!

Well, I'm back to where I WAS before this past Sunday.

So instead of a triple decker egg salad sandwich for breakfast, I'll just have a double decker (regular), hehehe, this morning.

I'm fixing to get ready to go to another town...visit the flea market, etc.

Hope you all have a wonderful day in the Lord!

Remember, Jesus loves ya and so do I!

Love, Maria (smile!)

P.S. Lunch was 1 KFC fried chicken leg and a small slaw. Supper was 8 baked fishsticks with a couple tbsps ketchup and about a cup of microwaved plain okra. Cals for today: about 1000. Excercise was hours of walking.

P.S. again: It's 9:14 pm, EST, and I am HUNGRY!!! I was in a store today and I was going to get Hubby his fav candy bar, which I didn't find...then I started noticing the candy they had that I like...but I didn't get any! No sweets today!!! (unless you count 2 tbsps ketchup, which I don't). Have a good nite!

Progress as of today: 9.5 lbs lost so far, only 5 lbs to go!

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Hello to you!

Sunny, though chilly day today again here in S.C. (high in the 50's fahrenheit).

Breadfast was a triple decker egg salad sandwich, about 400 cals.

Lunch was a Krispy Cream glazed donut, about 200 cals. Desert was a small cone of chocolate ice cream at Dairy Queen, 150 cals.

Supper was 2 plain, only salted, corn on the cobs (300 cals) and a small 220 cals pack of chocolate cookies.

Total cals for today: About 1370.

Exercise was walking in store and trying on clothes. I bought something that fit well in a size 12. The mirror also revealed that although I'm down 8.5, I need to do more in the exercising.

Hubby and I plan, Lord willing, to take a long weekend trip to the beach in the latter part of next month, so I guess I need to get BUSY!!!

I guess I should just ACCEPT that I'm not going to stay away from sweets, at least not right now and just figure them into daily calories and exercise. If I don't, I may feel deprived of them and have a sweets-binge! (Although today looks like one, anyway!)

I'm at another plateau right now and I can't complain seeing how many sweets I've been indulging in! I DID resist a BIG hamburger at one of the stores today, though.

Have a good night and remember...Jesus loves ya and so do I!

Love, Maria (Smile!)

Hello to you!

Well, I see those chocolate chip/pecan tollhouse cookies costed yesterday, even though I did do a big workout on the treadmill last night.

BUT!!! I was better today! Breakfast was 1 scrambled egg and 2 plain toasts. Lunch was a small pack of cashews. Supper was a small veggie/fruit salad with sunflower seeds and just a little thousand island dressing. I'm guessing 1100 cals for today's total. Excercise was running lots of errands including grocery shopping for my Mom as well as for me and Hubby.

Soonie, I DID get some ORVILLE REDENBAUCHER 100 calories packs popcorn...I got the butter flavored, low fat kind. Haven't tried it yet, but maybe tomorrow...Bet it's gonna be GOOD!

Btw, I haven't TOUCHED the popcorn I got last night at church NOR the 'ONE LONE COOKIE' left from yesterday's cookie binge in the fridge. I looked at it today and I thought 'I DON'T THINK SO!!!!'

I feel hungry, but I'm not going to get started at 8pm. So I'll just read entries and distract myself.

Hope you all have a good night...remember...Jesus loves ya and so do I!

Hello to you!

Today is a sunny, bright (though still chilly here in the south...50's fahrenheit) day with the birds singing sweetly outside.

Up, down, up, down...I try not to give in to sweets and here goes the chocolate craving and I do...even yesterday...I had 4 miniature chocolate donuts. My 14's jeans are loose on me and I tried on one of my 12's jeans this morning and they may as well have said "No way, sista!" (hehehe....not)...So, today, I said to myself I wouldn't give in to chocolate...I forgot I had any in the house...then I remembered a few chocolate-covered cherries from a gift from Christmas in the freezer...well, I figured, just one....only 75 cals...well, that 'one' must have been a TRIGGER!!!!!!!! I also had some chocolate/pecan tollhouse frozen cookie dough in the freezer from Christmas that I'd forgotten about. Around 2 pm, I decided I'd only bake ONE of them (190 cals)...WELL THAT JUST GOT ME STARTED!!! Now 4 more are baking...guess I'll be doing some walking on the treadmill today!

Have a good day and remember, Jesus loves ya and so do I!

Love, Maria (smile!)

PS...I didn't eat all 4, just 3, but that still makes 4 counting the 'one' I baked by itself.

LOL - Maria! You sound like me yesterday! I was being SO good, and the cheese curls sitting in the baggie on my counter looked SO good, and really it was only like 1/2 a serving, so I said "why not, I've got the extra points to spare today". Well, that turned into opening the big bag of cheeze curls and having at least an additional serving more, then two big pieces of DH's birthday cake, and then probably about 1/2 cup of almonds, and well... I think enough said. LOL If we can just stay away from it in the first place and resist that first bite, then we are really doing something! :-)

Soon2BThin on 03/22/2006:
About the popcorn I talked about---I had already had a bag in the afternoon, it's a real habit. For only 100 calories or 2 points I consider it a good snack and treat. But I didn't want to have more later since it was after 7pm and I try hard not to eat after 7. Still hard to smell it. Popcorn has the best smell, doesn't it? Mmmmm, cookies! There's no way I could keep that stuff in the house, frozen or not! And anyone around here who wants it can just buy it themselves! I refuse! Yep, that sugar can be a trigger that makes you keep eating things, I know. Hope you have an excellent day tomorrow!

Umpqua on 03/22/2006:
It's good that you're recognizing the trigger foods - I, too, have such trouble controlling myself with chocolate. I just commented to Geevee that I need to freeze the 1.5 lbs of Harry & David chocolate truffles sitting atop my fridge before it's too late! Your weight is down, so that's good news. I hope you're enjoying your chilly (yet warm by Northeast standards) day :)

monet0239 on 03/22/2006:

Hello to you!

Today has been chilly and rainy here in the south. My Mother called me and invited me to have dinner (lunch) with her. She cooked fried steak, rice, gravy, green peas, green string beans, and she had fresh tomatoes. She is an excellent cook. Last year, she was on life support...I remember crying and praying and asking the Lord to heal her...and the Lord performed a miracle in healing her and now, she not only cooked dinner for her and me, but also fixed a loaded plateful to carry home for my Hubby when he gets in from work and I don't have to cook supper. God is so good! I thank Him and praise Him!

Hope you have a good day today...remember...Jesus loves ya and so do I!

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Hello to you! Hope you've had a good day today...and every day is a good day with the Lord!

I've been studying in the Bible today and also working on putting my copies of songs we sing in church in alphabetical order. I didn't even go outside today! How about that??? We had drizzling rain off/on today anyway...

Yesterday I gave in to sweets...and sweets...and sweets...I overdid it a little...today I was better. It's something though, how that when I give in to sugared sweets, I seem to crave MORE of them. Today I CRAVED chocolate...so I remembered I had 1 fatfree very small chocolate pudding in the fridge...only 90 cals plus some fatfree coolwhip...so I had that...then later I was REALLY craving sweets...I found half of a 3 Musketeer in the snack cabinet...this was after 3 bananas during the day and half an apple...see what I mean about the sweets???

At least I did get on the treadmill and walked/jogged tonight.

One good thing...yesterday, my largest pants that I frequently wear to church were about 4 inches too large in the waist and baggy also. That felt good! I wore it anyway! They are 14's. Also, my size 14 levi non-stretch jeans are very loose in the waist and beginning to look a little baggy, also...hehehe! My goalweight is 155 and size 12...I used to be such a perfectionist...not anymore.

I hope you all have a good night...and remember...Jesus loves ya and so do I!

Love, Maria (smile!)

Hi Maria,

It sounds like things are going great for you dietwise. We all have our sweet or salt craving days (my sweet days far outweigh the salt craving ones) but it sounds like you handled things just fine. As for your gardening question, my dwarf irises are purple and so pretty! I've got some hyacinths just about to bloom as well, and daffodils and tulips that I'm hoping will follow!

Hello to you!!!

THE PLATEAU IS GONE!!!

I guess the gardening yesterday helped...I don't know...I'm just GLAD the plateau is gone again! 6 days of 161 and this morning the scale announced '160'...I was so happy, I got on and off that scale a few times...sure enough...160! Happy Dance!

So...how's your day going??? I've had a very busy one today...we've had gorgeous weather here in S.C. today and I plan to grill out some chicken on the back deck this afternoon...as a matter of fact, I'm on the back deck keying this now, hehehe! This morning, after doing some household chores, I picked up a friend and for brunch, we got a steak sandwich in town, then went to the gym and worked it off. Then I brought her over here (home) to see the new red camillia bush I got yesterday and set out in the front yard...it has beautiful large red camillias on it...then we went into the kitchen and I fixed us a snack...fat free (90 calories) chocolate pudding and a couple tablespoons of fat free cool whip (about 20 calories)...a cheap but very delicious snack for a little over 100 cals...then I took her home and went to my Mom's, who was in the bed, sick and I fixed her some chicken noodle soup and crackers and spent some time with her and then went and did some shopping for her...also I went to a car wash and vacumned and washed the vehicle I drive (it REALLY needed it)...anyway, now I'm back home and I'm sitting here in the sunshine and I guess it's around 75 degrees fahrenheit and a gentle cool breeze is blowing to keep it from getting too hot...I'm in my lounge chair and I'm going to read some entries and then grill out barbequed chicken...Y'all come on over!

Remember...Jesus loves ya and so do I!

Maria - I really admire your positive attitude. I may need some of that sometimes! LOL Congrats on breaking that plateau and sticking through it! The day I see the scale say 160 - is the day I reach GOAL! So, I can't wait! LOL Sounds likea busy day of taking care of friends and family, and still making room for taking care of yourself. Good for you - I'm proud of ya!

Hi Maria, congratulations on breaking through your plateau! I also wanted to say how much I enjoy reading about your wonderful weather there and the grilling and gardening (camellias are so beautiful). It gives me hope that we'll soon see the same here in the chilly Northeast. My dwarf irises are in bloom and I'm itching to get outside and clean out my flower beds and do some pruning, but I definitely need to wait a few more weeks as our frosts are not yet over.

Hello to you!

Well, the plateau continues. I did pretty well today to start out with...even did an hour of gardening this afternoon...then I really felt hungry!!! I was determined to stay within my calorie limit....but guess what???? I didn't! Thanks to chocolate malted milk balls in the refrigerator that I gave in to...oh well...not gaining is progress. Anyway, I wore my non-stretch size 14 levi jeans again today and felt good because a couple of months ago, they lacked about 3 inches of fastening and today not only did they fasten, but they were not snug and even felt comfortable. So...I HAD to have some chocolate today...well I'm a woman, so there you go. We women do love our chocolate...hum???? I know I do!

Soooooo...going to read entries...have a good night and remember....Jesus loves ya and so do I!

(and chocolate I think just signs out to the women of the world - "eat me and don't stop until I'm ALL GONE"... Been there, I'll be there again I'm sure! :-)
