John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Good evening to you! Hope you've had a wonderful day today! Hubby and I have! We had wonderful church services today and thank the Lord for them. His being with us in them meant everything as we all worshiped Him and basked in the excitement of His Presence! I hope you all have a church home that you worship the Lord Jesus Christ in and know Him as your personal Lord and Savior. I thank Him for the gift of eternal life in Him.

Yesterday, I ate about 2 cups of shelled boiled peanuts, thinking that since they were the same as legumes that they would have about the same amount of calories as lima beans, which are approximately 200 or so a cup. I thought I had done pretty well yesterday....but today I found out shelled, boiled peanuts have almost 600 calories a cup, according to one website I visited....wow, almost 1200 calories for 2 cups! Soooooo, now I know. Needless to say, Hubby finished the rest of the boiled peanuts tonight. We had gotten them at a flea market. They were real good and filling and I thought I'd only had about 400 calories of them...turns out to have been almost 1200....oh well...that's the way it goes, I guess...so I guess next time I want boiled peanuts I'll cook some lima beans instead, hehehe!

Have a good night and remember...Jesus loves ya (and gave His Life for you)....and I love ya, too!

Love, Maria (smile!)

I love the fact that every one of your entries reminds us/me that God and Jesus loves me. I am extremely fortunate to be saved by the mercy and grace of God, I probably wouldnt be alive if I wasn't. Losing weight while having a Lord and Savior is completely different then when you try to lose weight just by yourself, I've tried it in both spectrums. May you remain blessed!

Hi there!

We are back in South Africa for the time being to buy property etc and are planning on going overseas again next year sometime. Maybe the United Kingdom this time, not sure. But if we win the greencard lottery we will be back in the States, since one of my biggest problems there were that i couldnt work anymore.

Oh and by the way, hubby and me almost finished the whole loaf of banana bread hehe!

Have a great day!

kimberley on 03/13/2006:
Thanks for the comment, Yes I still live in Ireland Tipperary, for the last 3 years . The UK (Leicestershire) previouse to that. My family came from Ireland originally and my parents moved back. We all moved to Ireland because I wanted to have another baby and wanted my parents to be more involved.

I find Ireland very devoted to the Catholic way of life, I do find it hard in that it is so traditional and you do have to work very hard at gaining some meaning from the service. I do wish (and I dont think that I am alone)in wishing that the old priest who mentions a saints name in every other word would think of the children and younger families and make the service more light hearted and actually enlighten the congregation.

Anyway , hope that your diet goes well and thanks kimberley

Good morning to you! It is a cloudy, warm morning here in S.C. I hear the birds singing happily outside. I threw some bread crumbs outside for them earlier and they are all gone now. I don't know if the squirrels or the birds got them...it doesn't matter, though!

Yesterday did a couple of hours or so of walking and about 1200 calories.

I hope you have a lovely day today....remember...Jesus loves ya and so do I!

Hello to you! WOW!!! Thank you all so much for your wonderful comments about the styles of jeans and capris! I enjoyed reading each one! I am finding out more and more about each of you! You're all so interesting!

Well, I did buy another pair of size 14 levi hip-hugger bell-bottoms/flared jeans today...the other pair I bought the other day is navy blue...the ones I got today are mediumish? blue...like regular jeans color. I am TRYING to break away from levi jeans...oh, they are my favorites, but I want to be to where when I go into a store, it's not always ONLY levi jeans I get! I must be trying to get back cool, hehehe! Like for instance, I was in a store the other day and I saw some really 'far-out' (oldie-goldie word I like) jeans...they were regular-blue jean color and they were bell-bottomed, with very colorful embroidery going down the sides...FAR OUT!!! (hehehe!)...and I also saw some white bell-bottomed jeans with some silver decorations on the sides. These were WIDE bell-bottomed jeans...I mean...is there ANY OTHER KIND???? When I was a teenager, I MADE my bell-bottoms a lot...I would sometimes take flared jeans and ADD material at the bottoms to make them EXTRA-WIDE bell-bottomed. I wanted to be COOL! My younger brother and I really thought we were COOL....in his room, he had a shelf on his wall with many different varieties of coffee....and in my room, I painted my closet psychedellic (which at that time meant an abstract of different bright, wild colors)...orange, red, purple swirls, etc. The closet was the main attraction of my bedroom and really meant I was 'COOL'!!!! I'm 2 years older than my brother and he would sometimes come to my room to ask for a drink from my 'ironing-board bar' (another COOL thing I had in my room)...and it was exactly as said, except I think I had a cloth hanging over it to disguise it being an ironing board...and I would ask him whether he wanted scotch or rye or what and he'd answer one of them and it really didn't matter, cause he was getting pepsi mixed with coolaid anyway....(and he drank it, too)....

Have I bored you yet??? Hehehe! Have a great night and remember... Jesus loves ya and so do I!

Love, Maria (smile!)

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Hello everybody! Thank you all for your responses to my question about jeans. It made me feel SO much better to read what y'all wrote...now I don't feel so 'out of style', hehehe...as for me I wore bell bottoms as a teenager and into my twenties, I even remember that after I had my daughter, I was wearing some cool white bell bottoms with decorations on the sides of them near the bottoms,...but then when the 'tapered' jeans came into style, I think I was one of the LAST to give up my bell bottoms...and finally I began wearing them, though I remember at that time thinking that they made people look larger in the hips ( I don't think that now)...so I have a lot of the tapered/straight-legged jeans and just recently bought a pair of stretch size 14 flared/bell bottomed jeans. It really takes some getting used to to wear them, though. I am just starting to wear jeans again...I've been mostly wearing elastic-waisted pants for months now...including capris. Jeans are not as comfortable as elastic waisted capris so usually when I get home, I change into my 'comfy's', hehehe. Thank you all so much again for your answers!

That's another thing...when capris came into style, I thought I would NEVER wear those 'high-water pants'...but I finally, probably one of the last ones to, bought some and started enjoying wearing them. Now I wear them the MOST, hehehe~! Comfy!

Well, I guess this is enough for now...gonna read entries...have a great day and remember...Jesus loves ya and so do I!

I still keep a few pairs of bigger stretch jeans just to relax around the house in. I'm short, and it's hard to find pants that fit me. lol Renee

liza36 on 03/08/2006:
I was the same way with capris. I was probably the last one to start wearing them too, but now I love them! So cute and comfy. As for jeans, I rarly wear them because I don't think they are all that comfortable. Probably when I lose some of this weight I may go back to jeans on the weekends. I have to dress up for work during the week.

Have a great day. Glad to see you back at DD!

BigLoser on 03/08/2006:
Hi Maria. LOL you sound like me in the resisting-the-styles department. I also remember still hanging onto my flared jeans when the tapered legs came into style. A friend who was more stylish than me finally staged an "intervention" to make me get with the times. LOL Same thing with capris, except this time it was because of bad memories of being teased about high water pants as a kid. I do own 5 pairs of capris that I love now though, so I did get over it. LOL

You asked me how tall I am... 5'11" (sort of explains the high water pants phobia doesn't it - LOL).

Have a great day.

Hello to you!

Hope you've had a wonderful day today!

Well, I walked about 1 and 1/2 to 2 miles or so today. Calories were 1300-1400, I think and that's if I don't eat anymore today.

I tried on my non-stretch size 14 jeans this morning and THEY FIT! WOW! So, I wore them today. It felt good wearing them again, as they'd lacked about 3 inches of fastening a month or so ago. I have a question to ask: Do y'all wear flared and/or bell bottomed jeans or straight/tapered or a mix?

Work your program!

Remember...Jesus loves ya and so do I!

HIya Maria hun.. way to go on getting into those jeans !!! wo0o0ho0o0o0o... as to answer your question.. I dont have to many pairs of jeans.. because I dont feel comfortable in them.. I like the stretchy ones.. but when I loose my weight.. you betetr belive I will be in jeans again. but I do have flared and a pair os straight legs.. I like the straight legged better.. lol..

I wanted to thank you for coming and commenting :O).. means alot to me.. :O).. and I hope your day was wonderful as well.. hugs sweetie.. God Bless !!

BigLoser on 03/07/2006:
Hi Maria. Congrats on getting back into your jeans! It always feels great when something like that happens.

In answer to your question I mainly wear straight legs but I do own one pair of flares. I'm kinda on the tall side and straight/tapered legs are a little more forgiving in the length than flares/bell-bottoms. Tapered/straight leg pants can end at your ankles and not look too weird - not so for flares or bell-bottoms, so unless I can find them long enough, the flares/bell-bottoms are out for me.

Have a great day. :-)

GG on 03/07/2006:
I wear flared jeans but lately I just wear formed fitting sweats because I find jeans to be so uncomfortable because in the winter they attract the cold and in the summer they make you have swamp booty...if you get what I am saying...ok well they make you sweat profusely! There is about 2 weeks in april and 2 weeks in september that I may consider wearing them but other than that, no sir ree! haha! Well congrats in fitting into your non strech jeans! Thats an amazing accomplishment! You should definately go by the way your clothes fit rather than the number on the scale, cause the number of the scale can drive people crazy!! It used to drive me crazy but I broke up with my scale about 2 months ago...and you know how some say that you can still have friendship with ex's well...YOU CANT! haha! So we are not friends! HAHA!

Hello to you!

Well, the plateau is gone for now. Hubby and I ate out buffet today and for the first time in a long time, I felt 'in control'...I only ate about 1/2 of what I usually eat. And I've stopped taking popcorn and candy to bed with me and started walking at the gym during weekdays, began last Monday, that is...it's all helping. I put on my largest pants to wear to church this morning and they were loose!!!

Well, have a good day and remember...Jesus loves ya and so do I!

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Hello to you! Hope you've had a wonderful day today!

I walked another mile at the gym...total for this week is 3 and 3/4 miles there, not counting walking at other places.

I did well, eating-wise today, until late this afternoon when I just 'HAD' to have a honeybun...not a little one, but a LARGE one...it was 560 calories and I had probably all of 500 of the 560...but it was SOOOOOO good!

Anyway, I think I did about the same amount of calories as yesterday...about 1600 or so.

BMI calculator says I'm overweight. Wow...I didn't think after all the work I did to get to original goal that I'd be overweight again. Oh, well....I'm working on it!

No wonder I'm at a plateau, though I'm down a little from where I was..

Have a good night and remember...Jesus loves ya and so do I!

Love, Maria (smile!)

Originally, I weighed 205 and my goal was 150, which I met and surpassed, but found that I felt my best weighing around 155, which for me is a size 12. So, now that I've regained some weight, my goal is 155.

Progress as of today: 5 lbs lost so far, only 9.5 lbs to go!

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Good evening to you! It was another pretty, warm, sunny day here in S.C....in the 70's fahrenheit. I did a little shopping this morning and went to the gym and walked a mile. I've been on a plateau for a few days, but no wonder...I haven't reduced calories much...today was about 1600 calories or so. But I have been faithful in walking at the gym every day this week so far...

This afternoon I spent some time outside on the back deck...I started to grill out, but changed my mind as it got windy.

Anyway, guess I'll go read entries...have a nice night and remember...Jesus loves ya and so do I!

Love, Maria (smile!)
