Hello, everybody! Cold here in S.C. today...how's the weather your way? Hope you're all doing okay.

Today's been making wise choices and working out with the treadmill and weights.

Gonna go read a little while...have a good night!

Jesus loves ya and so do I!

Cold here today too, only got to 55 degrees. But at least the sun was shining. And we've got snow on the mountains near here, real pretty. Going down in the 20's tonight. Have a good weekend.

Good evening, everyone! I'm late getting on here, but thought I'd say hello! It has been a gorgeous, sunny, cool to cold day here in South Carolina.

Right now, Hubby and I are watching Yogi Bear cartoons on t.v., sitting side by side in our lounge chairs, me with the laptop on my lap. The to-the-ceiling Christmas tree is lit up and revolving round and round. We had the fire in the fireplace going, but it got a little too warm, so we turned it down (gas).

Have you got all your Christmas shopping done yet? We don't!

Well, this is all for now...think I'll go read entries for a while. Have a good night and remember...Jesus loves ya and so do I!

Love, Maria

Hello, everybody! Hope you're all doing well. It is COLLLLLDDDDDD!!! here in South Carolina today. 30's and 40's cold, with wind chills even lower. Also very cloudy.

Well, the homemade low carb chicken soup is doing its thing, comparing today to yesterday. I had another bowl of it at lunch today. It sure is filling. I wasn't even hungry...but I had had 2 eggs and 2 diet toasts, plain, for breakfast this morning....with coffee. I tried on my 'new' yardsale size 10 black leather jeans this morning and they are becoming easier to zip and fasten, but still not comfortable enough to wear yet....and if they're not comfortable, they don't fit. I think I'm going to go walk a while...

For those of you who didn't see it, here is a repeat of a poem I made up yesterday:

T'was the night before Christmas and all through the house,........... I wandered in search of another chocolate mouse....................... I found half of a fruitcake and a frozen snicker bar.................. Good enough for me and I didn't have to travel far....................

I sat in front of the tv, eating potato chips......................... Fruitcake and pumpkin pie and chocolate cookies and dips.......... While watching Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph and other cartoons...... I glance out the window and think I see the man in the moon...........

About that moment I hear on the roof,................................ A squirrel running across the house, noisily, not aloof!.............. Since I've no kids at home, I sit up late............................. Eating more bun-buns and ice cream I put on my plate..................

My Hubby is in bed sleeping and snoring,.............................. While from sugar overload I'm soaring................................. Turn the channel to HSN or QVC........................................ And keep the credit cards away from me!...............................

I think I'm still size 10 and order leather jeans!~................... With a medium size leather jacket to match, you know what I mean?.....

I continue to overeat the whole Christmas season,..................... Into New Year's Day and I'm still feasting............................ Finally my clothes arrive I ordered Christmas Eve..................... I tear open the box and see part of a leather sleeve!.................

Quickly, I begin to try on my new threads............................. But my leather jeans won't pull up and I take them off instead........ Neither will my leather jacket fit,................................... So I put them back into their box and I just sit......................

Thinking of all the bon-bons and chocolate goodies and treats......... I had many of and didn't think of the calories I'd eat................ And now I knew I had work to do....................................... Get on the treadmill and count calories, too!.........................

So this Christmas season...may we all be a little smarter............. Eating less of all the goodies will be a good starter................. And getting to the gym or walking somewhere every day................. So that we'll stay on track and not lose our way!

Ho, Ho, Ho!!!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Love, Maria

Hello, everybody! Hope you're all doing well.

Okay, I finally put my weight in. I also admit to eating 1/2 of the 6 layer chocolate cake my friend baked and gave to us Thanksgiving. There, I said it. Also 1/2 of the pumpkin pie. I said that, too. It was good. And I have been working...lots of walking and working out and being mindful of calories now that we are into the Christmas season. I have to be...we are having our big annual church Christmas Banquet/Party next week on Friday and I must fit into my size 10 black dress pants, cause there's no others to wear! As I speak, I am cooking a giant pot of homemade chicken soup...Yes, soup...In the pot are chicken (of course), red vadalia and yellow onions, fresh baby carrots, green string beans, celery, salt, pepper, and diced tomatoes. It's looking like more of a chicken stew than a soup, however, but it'll do. I was tempted to bake homemade cornbread, but bread is currently being limited. Also, rice, but it is also being limited, being a starch.

I have a poem for you:

Hello, everybody! I hope you are all having a wonderful day in the Lord today!

Well, how did you do on your Thanksgiving Day eating???? I hope better than I did! I failed! Hehehe! Yum, yum!

My friend baked a 6 layer chocolate cake and gave it to us. Yes, I had some of it. It was delicious! I also had some pumpkin pie. Yum! I'm up 2 pounds from Thanksgiving eating, but I'm back on track again. I'm still in the low 150's and still working out, walking, weights, etc, a few times a week.

Guess what? I tried on a couple of pairs of my old, (but they don't look it) size 10 levi jeans this morning and THEY FIT!!! Comfortably! (Cause it doesn't count if you can't 'comfortably' wear them!) I was surprised about that. BUT....my 'new' yardsale black leather size 10 jeans do NOT fit...they are too tight to be comfortable in, though can zip and fasten them. So, they are 'out' for now.

I asked my Hubby to please carry the rest of the 6 layer chocolate cake with him to work this morning, so he did (only about a quarter of it was left after we had company Thanksgiving night). I didn't want to be tempted with it today because I KNEW I'd finish it!

I've done pretty well with calories today, but I DID allow a medium sized 280 calorie snicker bar earlier. I just now had sugar free jello with fat free cool whip. Lunch was a barbequed turkey sandwich, using diet wheat bread at only 40 cals per piece. Breakfast was a mug of coffee and a piece of diet bread with 1 oz. cheese. Snack was another mug of decaf.

Hubby just now got home from work and I took a little break from this to fix him something to eat and he didn't want to eat Thanksgiving leftovers, but I told him I did today, so he let me fix him a plate of them and he is having it for his supper now as I key this.

It is a COLD day here in South Carolina, around 47 degrees fahrenheit a couple of hours ago. It was 37 this morning, with wind chill 27...and it is WINDY! To us southeners, that is VERY COLD!!!! But the sun is shining.

Hubby and I put up the Christmas tree Thanksgiving night. I know it is early, but we felt like it, so we did. Lots of our neighbors have up their Christmas decorations, some even before Thanksgiving! Hehehe! I think the lights are so pretty!

Well, guess this is all for now...I'm going to read some entries. Have a good day and remember...Jesus loves ya and so do I!

Love, Maria (SMILE!)

Soon2BThin on 11/29/2003:
Oh, my, chocolate cake! I know I wouldn't be able to resist that either AND I wouldn't have let anyone take it. The pies we had for Thanksgiving weren't that good so I only had a small piece of the cherry, my favorite. So it sounds like you're still doing well with the diet and exercise. Sorry it's so cold there, got up to 75 here today with beautiful sunshine. Take care.

geevee on 11/29/2003:
Thanks for your comment, Maria. I have two pieces of pie and one of cheesecake in the freezer tempting me.We're neighbors in the 150's. I was in the l40's BRIEFLY for two days BEFORE Thanksgiving. I'm trying to get back with all these delicious leftovers and I'd like to lose four more pounds by Christmas. Maybe one more day and then I'll go back to my serious regimen.

Good evening to you!

I hope you are doing well.

It has been a rainy day here in S.C., with storms expected, but none so far.

I went grocery shopping today. I would put things in the buggy and then turn around a few aisles later and go put them back. I bought Hubby a large container of his favorite ice cream (strawberry/chocolate/vanilla) and also got his favorite most expensive coughdrops instead of cheaper brand (he puts one in his mouth when he goes to bed at night so he can breathe better....menthol)...we also have a vaporizer running at night...which helps put moisture into the air...anyway, I'd gotten him a jar of pickled sausages, but I thought this was too much stuff with fat (he will not eat fatfree ice cream) so I put the sausage back. I also put back a box of 8 snackpacks of chocolate cookies with the white filling in them that I'd gotten for me. I finally put back 2 cans of high sodium soups, too. Then before I got to the checkout counter, I took back the cake mix (chocolate) and icing (chocolate) which I was thinking I might bake for Thanksgiving, but as Hubby and I will probably eat out, I'd be the main one to eat the cake, so it went back onto the shelf. I did buy some english walnuts, though, and a few bananas. Celery was only 50 cents and goes real good with lite pimento cheese, so I got some celery. I also bought onions, fresh squash, and potatoes (because they were reasonably priced at 5 pounds for $1.50), and there were a few stations of free samples, so I tried some dried fruit and nuts and some tiny spicy things that were in cups, but didn't buy any. I got Hubby and me cubed steaks for our supper tonight. I plan to have baked squash with mine, but I know he will want french fried potatoes (but they will be baked). I've begun drinking more water and less diet sodas. So I only got one pack (12) of sodas compared to the usual 3 or 4 I would get.

I was just reading an Australian journal...they are in spring and we are in fall...isn't that amazing!

We are in the peak of fall color here in South Carolina! The trees look like natural Christmas trees! Beautiful!

I need to discipline myself to clean up this study! It's not that bad, just need to put a few things where they belong which is not on this table I use for a desk! And not by the door as you come into this room, either! Clutter! Don't even ask about the closets!

Have a good night!

Remember...Jesus loves ya and so do I!

Good to hear from you, Maria! I'm glad you're doing well. It sounds like you did pretty well with your shopping today. I read several journals from people from Australia and New Zealand and it is amazing that we can communicate with people around the world. Hard to imagine they are having the opposite weather than we are. I hope things continue to go well for you. Keep up the good work.

geevee on 11/20/2003:
Congratulations on your grocery shopping! You were really "thinking thin".

Walnuts and other nuts make good snacks.

One benefit to making my own soup is that I don't have the sodium problem. I've been training my taste buds to like unsalted food, and it's working!

Hello, everyone! I hope you are having a lovely day!

I seem to have lost my 'resolve' to get back even close to where I was, and I do not want to get down that low for my height again, as I was not feeling well at that weight. (132) I'm still in the low 150's, which is not bad and I feel well at this weight. I don't care about clothes size anymore. If you are a certain size in clothes and don't feel well at that size, why bother? Currently I'm wearing 10's and 12's and I'm tall 5'8", so I'm okay with this size. I'm sort of a slim-medium, I guess. How a person feels is more important than size anyway...and who can say what number on a scale or size is best for a person anyway? If you feel good, that's more important than a number!

Hubby and I got back this week from a few days at the beach, Myrtle Beach, S.C., that is, celebrating our wedding anniversary. We went to a place called 'Broadway at the Beach', one of the most beautiful places we've ever been. Lots and lots of shops and restaurants and bridges to walk over water here and there and sort of like a giant park with a lot of activity going on. Lots of people were out and about shopping there. Hubby and I fed pigeons and fish at 'feeding stations' where you get 25 cents worth of grain and looking below at the water from the bridge, large fish actually had their open mouths and eyes stuck up out of the water, looking up at you, hoping for some grain to be dropped down to them. But when you got the handful of grain, here were the pidgeons and they were almost tame, lighting right on our hands while eating the grain from our hands! I videod Hubby and he videod me.

It is a sunny, cool day here in South Carolina. I love this weather. Lots of leaves are falling, but not much of a color change here yet.

Hubby and I are still real busy in church, we both teach a Sunday School class (adult) together and really enjoy it and I'm still playing piano in church. We love our church and our 'church family'.

Well, guess this is all for now...I'm going to read here for a while now. Take care, all of you and remember, Jesus loves ya and I do, too!

Love, Maria (SMILE!!!)

It's so nice to see you here! Sounds like you are doing awsome! Glad you are smart enough to add weight if you aren't feeling well where you were! That is great and for your height it's a great weight to be at. Your doing so well! Keep up the good work!

Soon2BThin on 10/23/2003:
Hey, Maria, glad to hear you're doing good. I agree with you, that a certain size doesn't mean anything if you don't feel good. I'm glad that you are at the weight that you feel good at. It's nice to know that it is possible. Can't wait until I get there! Have a good weekend.

Hello, all! I didn't realize it has been this long since last update. Hope you are all doing well. What has really surprised me tonight is our wonderful STELLASTAR is back!!!! YES! I know some of you 'oldie-goldies' on here have missed her as well as I! I've often thought of things she wrote since she left that made me feel happy. Her little scrapbook at the bottom of her entries...the red bandanna, etc. Anyway, she is BACK! And I see that Soonie is still here, hey, Soonie! But where are Pasta, Kyrin, Soccermom, and the one that moved to Kansas City...I see Breakaway is still here...Hey Breakaway!

Well, FALL has finally arrived here in S.C. Not a change of color yet, but a few leaves fall from time to time and we are in a 'cool-down' from the sweltering hot August weather....YES! Fall is my very favorite time of the year...and Hubby and I are getting ready to celebrate our upcoming anniversay next month with our yearly long weekend at the beach! YES!

Well, I am going to read some more entries...catch ya later!

I DO remember that you two celebrate it with a stay at the beach. Oooooooh :) I hope to hear from you a LOT! Yet, I am hooked up to an ISP that is not my regular mailbox. I want to ask you a little something....... When you emailed me, what did my address look like? We have so much catching up to do!!! I too would like to know what happened to our friend Muggg who moved to Kansas. :) See you tomorrow! Love you AND Jesus, M. Stella

How's everyone today? Are you getting ready for the 'fall weather'??? You know, autumn comes in next month...sweater weather...got your fall clothes ready for the cooler weather yet???

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Above is one of my favorite Bible verses....are you saved? Do you know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour? Today is the day of salvation. If you're not saved, please ask him into your life today...he shed his blood in your place and in your place, he gave his life for you and me on the cross and rose from the dead and is alive forevermore and through him, we are, too, who believe on him and live for him according to God's Word, the Bible. He calls on all to confess their sins to him, repent, and live for him. Everlasting life is a long time...actually, it is time without end. Don't you want to be ready when he calls your name? Don't you want your name to be written in the book of life? I do!

I hope you are having a blessed day today. It is very cloudy here in South Carolina and looks like we may have a downpour of rain any minute. It is very warm outside, it is 88 degrees, with heat index 94 degrees fahrenheit.

I watched and filmed a squirrel pulling cotton out of the front porch swing this morning, I guess to make her nest with. I'd been sewing up places where they've been getting the stuffing out. The swing is in the open, with a built in canopy over it, also made of canvas, as the swing seat is.

I've been walking a lot lately. Walked about 3 hours the other day and about an hour yesterday and the day before. The tape measure is showing the difference, as well as the scale. I guess it is about time to put in my current weight, but I just don't feel motivated to. If I get any responses (whereas I haven't been) in the comments, I may do it...but I don't even know if anyone is reading this or not.

I used to be Maria7, but lost my password and had changed email addresses and was unable to retrieve it, though I tried. I don't see Pastagal on here, nor a lot of the others. Where did everyone go???...that were here 2 - 3 years ago???

I left the 'island' I was on....(make believe)...there were too many sweets there, though I sure did enjoy it there. I baked chocolate cakes there and would eat half of one in one day! I ate and didn't count calories! I didn't exercise much, either. But I got back into my rowboat and rowed back past lots of tempting islands of fattening foods and people taking leisurely naps along the beach in the loungechairs in between their grazing the sweets and I rowed back to an island...I'll tell you what the number is because these islands have numbers, not names, if you ask me...where treats are fruits and veggies are the main thing, with some meats cooked boiled, broiled, grilled, or baked,...along with other non-fattening foods.

Well, this is all for now...take care and remember.... Jesus loves you and I do, too! Love, Maria (SMILE!!!)
