For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Hello, everyone! I hope you are having a lovely day!

I seem to have lost my 'resolve' to get back even close to where I was, and I do not want to get down that low for my height again, as I was not feeling well at that weight. (132) I'm still in the low 150's, which is not bad and I feel well at this weight. I don't care about clothes size anymore. If you are a certain size in clothes and don't feel well at that size, why bother? Currently I'm wearing 10's and 12's and I'm tall 5'8", so I'm okay with this size. I'm sort of a slim-medium, I guess. How a person feels is more important than size anyway...and who can say what number on a scale or size is best for a person anyway? If you feel good, that's more important than a number!

Hubby and I got back this week from a few days at the beach, Myrtle Beach, S.C., that is, celebrating our wedding anniversary. We went to a place called 'Broadway at the Beach', one of the most beautiful places we've ever been. Lots and lots of shops and restaurants and bridges to walk over water here and there and sort of like a giant park with a lot of activity going on. Lots of people were out and about shopping there. Hubby and I fed pigeons and fish at 'feeding stations' where you get 25 cents worth of grain and looking below at the water from the bridge, large fish actually had their open mouths and eyes stuck up out of the water, looking up at you, hoping for some grain to be dropped down to them. But when you got the handful of grain, here were the pidgeons and they were almost tame, lighting right on our hands while eating the grain from our hands! I videod Hubby and he videod me.

It is a sunny, cool day here in South Carolina. I love this weather. Lots of leaves are falling, but not much of a color change here yet.

Hubby and I are still real busy in church, we both teach a Sunday School class (adult) together and really enjoy it and I'm still playing piano in church. We love our church and our 'church family'.

Well, guess this is all for now...I'm going to read here for a while now. Take care, all of you and remember, Jesus loves ya and I do, too!

Love, Maria (SMILE!!!)

It's so nice to see you here! Sounds like you are doing awsome! Glad you are smart enough to add weight if you aren't feeling well where you were! That is great and for your height it's a great weight to be at. Your doing so well! Keep up the good work!

Soon2BThin on 10/23/2003:
Hey, Maria, glad to hear you're doing good. I agree with you, that a certain size doesn't mean anything if you don't feel good. I'm glad that you are at the weight that you feel good at. It's nice to know that it is possible. Can't wait until I get there! Have a good weekend.

Hello, all! I didn't realize it has been this long since last update. Hope you are all doing well. What has really surprised me tonight is our wonderful STELLASTAR is back!!!! YES! I know some of you 'oldie-goldies' on here have missed her as well as I! I've often thought of things she wrote since she left that made me feel happy. Her little scrapbook at the bottom of her entries...the red bandanna, etc. Anyway, she is BACK! And I see that Soonie is still here, hey, Soonie! But where are Pasta, Kyrin, Soccermom, and the one that moved to Kansas City...I see Breakaway is still here...Hey Breakaway!

Well, FALL has finally arrived here in S.C. Not a change of color yet, but a few leaves fall from time to time and we are in a 'cool-down' from the sweltering hot August weather....YES! Fall is my very favorite time of the year...and Hubby and I are getting ready to celebrate our upcoming anniversay next month with our yearly long weekend at the beach! YES!

Well, I am going to read some more entries...catch ya later!

Remember, Jesus loves ya and I do, too! Love, Maria (SMILE!)

HELLLLLOOOOOOOOOO! I am so thrilled to see you here! Absolutely thrilled!!! And, I see that you have been keeping your little self at your healthy weight. Wonderful. I have missed your telling of those delectable Southern foods that you prepare for your husband and self. How is your daughter, Maria. And your Mom? Anniversary time. I DO remember that you two celebrate it with a stay at the beach. Oooooooh :) I hope to hear from you a LOT! Yet, I am hooked up to an ISP that is not my regular mailbox. I want to ask you a little something....... When you emailed me, what did my address look like? We have so much catching up to do!!! I too would like to know what happened to our friend Muggg who moved to Kansas. :) See you tomorrow! Love you AND Jesus, M. Stella

Hello everyone, including Soonie and Kyrin! Now y'all know what island I'm on! Hehehe! I'm glad I'm at least back to this island before y'all asked which one I'm at. But I'm just visiting this one for a day or two.

How's everyone today? Are you getting ready for the 'fall weather'??? You know, autumn comes in next month...sweater weather...got your fall clothes ready for the cooler weather yet???

It is sunny and warm here in S.C. today. A gorgeous day. Birds singing, squirrels scampering about.

Well, this is all for now...y'all take care and remember, Jesus loves ya and so do I! Love, Maria (smile!)

Above is one of my favorite Bible verses....are you saved? Do you know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour? Today is the day of salvation. If you're not saved, please ask him into your life today...he shed his blood in your place and in your place, he gave his life for you and me on the cross and rose from the dead and is alive forevermore and through him, we are, too, who believe on him and live for him according to God's Word, the Bible. He calls on all to confess their sins to him, repent, and live for him. Everlasting life is a long time...actually, it is time without end. Don't you want to be ready when he calls your name? Don't you want your name to be written in the book of life? I do!

I hope you are having a blessed day today. It is very cloudy here in South Carolina and looks like we may have a downpour of rain any minute. It is very warm outside, it is 88 degrees, with heat index 94 degrees fahrenheit.

I watched and filmed a squirrel pulling cotton out of the front porch swing this morning, I guess to make her nest with. I'd been sewing up places where they've been getting the stuffing out. The swing is in the open, with a built in canopy over it, also made of canvas, as the swing seat is.

I've been walking a lot lately. Walked about 3 hours the other day and about an hour yesterday and the day before. The tape measure is showing the difference, as well as the scale. I guess it is about time to put in my current weight, but I just don't feel motivated to. If I get any responses (whereas I haven't been) in the comments, I may do it...but I don't even know if anyone is reading this or not.

I used to be Maria7, but lost my password and had changed email addresses and was unable to retrieve it, though I tried. I don't see Pastagal on here, nor a lot of the others. Where did everyone go???...that were here 2 - 3 years ago???

I left the 'island' I was on....(make believe)...there were too many sweets there, though I sure did enjoy it there. I baked chocolate cakes there and would eat half of one in one day! I ate and didn't count calories! I didn't exercise much, either. But I got back into my rowboat and rowed back past lots of tempting islands of fattening foods and people taking leisurely naps along the beach in the loungechairs in between their grazing the sweets and I rowed back to an island...I'll tell you what the number is because these islands have numbers, not names, if you ask me...where treats are fruits and veggies are the main thing, with some meats cooked boiled, broiled, grilled, or baked,...along with other non-fattening foods.

Well, this is all for now...take care and remember.... Jesus loves you and I do, too! Love, Maria (SMILE!!!)

I'm still here and still reading you when you show up. Keep coming back. I love hearing about your "islands".

kyrin on 08/19/2003:
Okay, it's not that important, but what Island are you on in case I want to send you a healthy care package? LOL ((HUGS)) It's good to see a few of the old group still here.

I hope all is going well for you, gal!

Hello all! It is time for the latest update. I hope you are all doing well. I'm going by a new plan and it allows 1300 calories per day. It is working well. I'm also eating healthier...fresh veggies, fruits, instead of lots of things like cinnamon raisin bread and icecream and candy bars! Also baked chicken and fish and a little beef sometimes. Not too much bread or potatoes, though. Also, exercise a few times a week, but not overdoing it.

I see Soccer Mom's diary is deleted. Where is everybody of the 'old' group???

Love, Maria

Long time, no write. But I've been checking in, reading journals from time to time. Some of you are doing quite well, I see...not overeating and staying within guidelines. As for me, I've been overeating. Hubby and I have been out quite a few times lately, eating at buffet restaurants, his favorite as well as mine. For some reason, I ALWAYS overdo it there! He doesn't, though he's gained a few pounds also. I usually start out well in the mornings, doing coffee and telling myself I'm going to do well with eating and not overdo and then I get a sugar or carb craving and there goes the plan...you know what I mean???

Anyway, thought I would say hello to you all, it's been so long since I last did. Take care, each of you and have a great day in the Lord!

Love always, Maria (SMILE!)

I hope you are all doing okay today. (And saved.) The Sunday School class is going well. We all have a wonderful time each Sunday morning, having breakfast together in the classroom and learning about what God's Word, the Bible has to say about a lot of different things. It is very interesting.

Tomorrow, Lord willing, I plan to go to the local flea market and have a yard sale there. I did last Saturday and I prayed on the way there asking the Lord to bless me and He did! I baked 2 chocolate on chocolate double layered cakes yesterday and have them in the freezer, waiting to be taken out tonight in time to thaw out and sell them tomorrow. I also have a lot of other items to take to sell (household, etc.). I prayed last Saturday and asked the Lord to bless me and I asked Him to let it be that I wouldn't have to bring back much, if any, of the things I took to sell and within 4 hours I'd sold everything I took to sell, even including the boxes! When I'd sold almost everything I'd taken to sell, someone made an offer to buy what remained and so I sold the rest to them and didn't have to pack up anything to take back home at all! And it did real well! I've also prepared homemade biscuits to sell tomorrow morning, too!

Well, have a great day! Love, Maria (SMILE!)

Hello all...long time, no write, I know...I'm Maria7 in earlier entries (lost password and changed email addresses and couldn't get it)....I'm reading in here tonight and so wanted to say hey to you!

Hubby and I are doing well...We had a grill out on the back deck this afternoon...barbequed chicken...yum! It was good! I'm doing low-carb for a few days, but I can't stick with it over a few days at a time, so I usually go 3 to 5 days low carb, then I have more carbs (breads mainly) and then back to low carb again after the weekend of extra carbs...and it is working!

Sunday School class is going great...I put an ad in the local newspaper this week and it says FREE BREAKFAST with an invitation for everyone to come to the Sunday School class, so I've already made up and frozen 70 homemade sausage biscuits, to be baked early Sunday morning before we leave for church. I also bought other breakfast goodies and we have coffee and lots of softdrinks...so I guess we will see how it does...

It was a pretty day here in S.C., but a little on the warm side and we had a rain shower this afternoon before the grillout.

Well, have a good night and remember, Jesus loves ya and I do, too!

Love, Maria (SMILE)

Hello, everybody! I'm back again! I have still been coming here from time to time, reading entries.

I'm not ready to put in my weight yet, but I will say I'm down 8 from what I've gained, which is good. I've been regularly going to the gym and walking and jogging on the treadmill there, as well as doing lots of different weight workouts there over the past couple of months and it works. I'm already wearing some of my smaller sized clothes that I couldn't wear 2 months ago.

I am happily teaching a new Sunday School Class as of 2 months ago...get this...how would you like to attend a Sunday School Class where you have a free breakfast awaiting you in the classroom each Sunday morning? Where you teacher gets up early Sunday mornings and fixes homemade sausage biscuits (lots of them) and brings them each Sunday morning along with soft drinks (diet drinks included) and donuts (for those who dare) and there is also a giant coffee urn with steaming hot coffee to drink...all of this free to those who come to the class...? I am so excited about this class and really enjoy teaching. We sit around tables that are put together end to end in our room and we have a discussion-type lesson while we drink our coffee and eat together and it is fun! I'm still playing piano at church, also.

I encourage each of you who are not attending church to go and give it a try to one that teaches the Bible and salvation through Jesus Christ.

Hubby is doing well...working a lot of hours, but he may have off next weekend, won't know for sure til Thursday or Friday, that is just the way it is...but maybe we'll get to do some things like go to the flea market and eat out or something if he does, weather permitting.

Well, just thought I'd say hello to you. Have a good night! Love, Maria

Hello, everybody!

Happy GOOD FRIDAY! Today is the holiday recognizing that the Friday before Easter (Jesus' resurrection), Jesus gave His Life for you and for me on the cross, to give us the give of eternal life through Him! He took OUR place on the cross and paid the price for OUR sins! He shed His blood for us because he loved us! So, I say to each of you, Happy Good Friday!

Hope you all are doing well. It was nice to see that Soon To Be Thin remembered me in her diary today.

It is a rainy and cloudy and a little cold day here in S.C.

Flowers are getting ready to bloom! We have 13 rosebuds in the backyard!

Hope you are all doing well this Good Friday and hope you all have received Jesus Christ for your Lord and Saviour! He is the ONLY WAY to heaven! Love ya! Maria :)

Hello Maria, I'm not sure you will remember me or not, but I was here at the DD about a year ago..My name is Lisa, I was mommy of two.. but I couldnt remember my password, so I made this new one. It is good to see your still coming here for the support of these great people. When I was last here, your hubby had been laid off from work. This is happening to me now. for three months now. I was just wanting to know if you would say alittle prayer for me and my family. I am guessing things worked out well for you and your hubby. I truely believe in the power of prayer and the power of God. I thank you and wish you the best on this easter weekend. God Bless and take care sweetie, Lisa
