3c sauerkraut, 1c soup.

2Grapefruit.

Prayers before every meal. (It just makes food taste better)

25 min warehouse walking.

I'm going to be eating 1/2 salads and 1/2 pickles now, to go along with my mini popcorn.

Didn't have time for any activities at home. Practice last night and a show tonight. Will have to eat out, and the band likes to go to a restaurant afterwards. Not much of a challenge for me, I usually just drink decaf coffee anyway.

I'm thinking about eating just 1 egg every morning, but I want to wait till I weigh under 200Lbs. I just don't want to be hungry before lunch. And I'm thinking it will be something to reward myself with once I lose more weight :v) Yay ! You lost weight, here's your less food.

Hope everyone is well. Have a good day.

Progress as of today: 16 lbs lost so far, only 17 lbs to go!

Umpqua on 01/30/2013:
LOL, Brazil isn't as tough as some of the other BeachBody programs but it's still serious business - I did 2 rounds of it last year. And band practice and playing out definitely count as exercise IMO. Hubby is a drummer and that's hard work! Have a good one.

thenewMLE on 01/30/2013:
Congrats on the 4 pounds! I haven't been able to stay in touch like usual so I am just getting caught up. Sorry about your coach and yes, those life lessons seem to be the valuable ones! RYC, I think I saw your Ravens drive by me yesterday in a huge escorted bus and limos - so exciting! And yes, I will be pulling for them to win! Have a great day!

Tangalyn~ on 01/30/2013:

Puddles on 01/30/2013:
Thank you for the comments. Had breakfast and downed two 8oz glass of water. Glad that is over with for a few hours. LOL Will do the same at the next meal and if I can keep that up I will get at least 6 glasses in for the day. Tomorrow will try to put it up to 8. But for today 6 will do - I have to admit it will be an improvement. Have a good day.

legcramps on 01/30/2013:
LOL newspaper headline "lost weight, reward is to eat less". Love it :)

Have fun at the show tonight :)

supercheese on 01/30/2013:
Congrats!! I think 1 egg would be okay. I know egg whites are practially only 15 calories per egg so not too bad!

biscottibody59 on 01/30/2013:
Good going on your loss this week!

V on 01/30/2013:
i assume you are in a rock band? What instrument do you play? Do you sing as well?? Just curious..

RYC L-Glutamine is a free form Amino acid, it supports muscle function during and after exercise. It really helps out with soreness..Glutamine is one of the most abundant amino acids found in skeletal muscles, serves as fuel for the immune system.. I just want to make sure my glutamine level is balanced since high intensity workouts decreases them.. Hope you have a great jam session with your band :)

15min stair climber, 20min treadmill.

bought a stair climber at salvation army $20. I bought it because it has some cool references to how high you climb. Yesterday it said I went 660ft vertical. Cool ! I went passed the statue of libery, big Ben, the great pyramid, then I gave in before I could reach anything else. Oh well. Another tool in my toolkit and it was only $20. A small investment into the basement. A bigger investment into me :v) Ya'll have a good day.

Progress as of today: 16 lbs lost so far, only 17 lbs to go!

Just42day on 01/29/2013:
congrats on the stair climber and the incredible deal on it!

Prayers at every meal.

My 9th grade football coach died this last week, and went to heaven. Neil Painter. He was a member of our church (Franklin Vineyard) he was 70 something. Went to his visitation last night. He taught me more than football, he taught me some things about life.

One of his greatest lessons he taught me is that when confronted with a problem you should face it, and deal with it, instead of going around it. Because if you go around it and not deal with it, even though you can't see it, the problem is still there. And it will ALWAYS be there unless you do something about it. I feel that I have become a better person because of his "lessons"

I've passed this lesson on to my son and daughter. I think that they have become better adults for it.

Thank You Coach Neil Painter.

I lost 4 pounds last week.

Progress as of today: 16 lbs lost so far, only 17 lbs to go!

I'm so sorry for the loss of your former coach. That's so wonderful that you learned so much from him and that you've passed those lessons on to your children. Congratulations on your 4 -- count 'em - 4 lb loss. Your hard work and consistency is clearly paying off. Great job and keep going!

legcramps on 01/28/2013:
Very sorry for your loss...

Good advice too; I often try to ignore or avoid an issue in hopes that it will just go away eventually. It very rarely does.

oldguy on 01/28/2013:
Tough to see them go. I used to ride motorcycles with my HS football coach. Keep up the good work, you are almost half way there.

Weight: 220.0

2eggs, 1bread, beans, 1c soup.

Chicken fajita w/2 flat breads, 12 tortilla chips, 1/3 slice of Cheesecake.

8c popcorn

Grapefruit, BigPickle.

Water jug and water at restaurant and movies.($4 at the movies)

Prayer.

20min treadmill.

Darla's birthday went ok. I used splenda and skim milk on the Cheesecake. It really tasted good but I don't think I'll eat any more.

I managed to sneak in a trip downstairs and get on the treadmill.

The restaurant was good too. I was happy with my choice and portion. It was just chicken, peppers and onions on top of 2 flat breads.

The movie "Mama" was good and scary. Darla is a grabber, clutcher and a screamer. Most of the teen girls at the movie were screaming too. (I think I only screamed once).

It was a fun day and she thanked me a lot :v)

Megan's eye looks great this morning. Thank you all for your prayers.

Weigh in tomorrow morning. I'll report in and let everybody know.

Hope you all have a good day.

Progress as of today: 12 lbs lost so far, only 21 lbs to go!

Just42day on 01/27/2013:
So glad that Darla enjoyed her B'day and that Megan's eye is already doing better! Great job with your food choices. I know movie concession prices are ridiculous! That's definitely where they make their money. When I went to the movies last week, I stuck a bottle of water in my purse. I know you're not supposed to but I did it anyway. Tsk tsk Keep up the good work! I'm looking forward to seeing your great weigh in results!

Tangalyn~ on 01/27/2013:
ooh i want to see that movie so bad!! glad u guys have a good time :)

sailingeagle on 01/27/2013:
Way to go on the food choices, Raven! I appreciate your advice on eating more veggies...I'm on a pretty tight budget, but one of my favorite veggie meals is stirfry. I can get that pretty cheap at Wal-Mart. Brown rice is pretty cheap too. Next paycheck, I'll stock up on it! :0) You're pretty brave to watch, "Mama." I would be up all night with every light in the house on. ha, ha! Take care!

V on 01/28/2013:
Sounds like a great weekend to me! I am so happy that the wifey enjoyed everything :) I have to find someone brave enough to go see Mama with..LOL That is awesome news that your daughter's eye is all better! Have a wonderful day!

All my water.

Prayer before every meal.

20min treadmill.

Darla's Cheesecake is in the fridge. She's 42 today. Made it early this morning. Took quite a while. Tasted a wee bit of the filling from the spoon. It was good tasting. I know she'll like it :v) I'll bring it out at the restaurant.

Waitng to take Meg (daughter) to the Dr. She has something wrong with her eye. It's swollen shut but not red in any way. I'm waiting cause she has to get fixed up. I told her, her eye is more important than the way you look. I got the eye roll from her one good eye.

I want to talk about the openness and honesty I've encountered on this site. (at the Dr. Office now) people will confess about not doing well on their diets or they feel too tired to excersise. It would be easy for me or anyone else to paint a different picture, but we don't. I think we are who we say we are. With both our faults and successes. It just seems like a safe place to be yourself. And you meet a lot of different people from all walks of life. But everyone seems to listen and encourage on another.

I want to thank everyone for the support, information and encouragement I've got for the short time I've been here.

I plan on skipping lunch and just having a grapefruit for a snack. Then chicken fajita for dinner. When I was on weight watchers I calculated I could have 12 tortilla chips to dip in the salsa for so many points. The way I see it now, I can break those chips in half and get 24 dips in the salsa. I will drink only water and have just a SLIVER of the Cheesecake.

After that at the movies, NO butter on the popcorn. I'll tell you all how much popcorn I ate tomorrow. I don't see it being much really. I gotta be good this weekend for my Monday morning weigh in. Just water, thank you.

It's official. Meg has a sty in her eye. Heading to Walmart for eyedrops and benadril.

Thanks for listening.

I for one am glad to be here.

Progress as of today: 12 lbs lost so far, only 21 lbs to go!

happy birthday to darla!.. n yes tons of openness and honesty on this site thats why i like it so much.. i dont open up to many and i feel its ok to say whatever is on my mind here (for the most part)... its nice to not be judged on my failures... sounds like u have a good day planned.. have fun at the movies and i hope megs eye feels better!

Just42day on 01/26/2013:

Sorry about Meg's eye :( Hey have fun with the wifey this evening..BTW popcorn(without the butter) is good so don't sweat it!! Even when trying to live a healthier lifestyle we are faced with dining out on occasion so we just have to do the best we can.. Have FUN Raven, I am sure she will appreciate it :)

niftyjack on 01/27/2013:
Sounds like the birthday celebration will be fun. Shame about your daughter's eye, though. I hope it clears up in no time. (Will she use the opportunity to legitimately wear an eyepatch? Or is that just me?)

Dear Diary. Why is my belly still this big ? It's hard to suck in this much gut when pretty girls are around. I'll keep on doing what I have been these last few weeks. I know I feel better and maybe soon, things will start to look better too.

Darla's b-day tomorrow. Cheesecake from the Dr. Oz website, Dinner at EL Rancho (Her favorite, not mine) I'll get the chicken fajita with just a few tortilla chips. Movie after that. She wants to see a horror picture.

Well that's it for now. The orders are coming in and I gotta get moving. Have a great day.

I don't mind sauerkraut on a hotdog or fried with sausage and crusty baguettes, but I don't think I could eat 3 cups of it by itself. Good job on being so consistent daily.

legcramps on 01/25/2013:
Woohoo for horror pictures!!! My favorite :)

Everything takes time, man. Lots of water. Lots of moving. Lots of prayer. You can do this, keep doing what you're doing.

thenewMLE on 01/25/2013:
Dear OhioRaven, this is your body speaking. It took a long time for you to make our belly this big and it will take some time to reduce it again. I love the exercise and attention you are giving me and the food makes my heart and blood very happy. Keep it up and our belly will shrink and BTW, any girl only looking at our physical appearance is sorely short sighted.

Love the cheesecake choice!! Have a great birthday celebration and celebrate moderation!

Just42day on 01/25/2013:
Hope your wife enjoys her b'day tomorrow. Sounds like you're definitely catering to her favorites. What a great husband! Keep working your food plan. You're doing great!

Umpqua on 01/25/2013:
The birthday plans sound great, I'm sure your wife will have an excellent time! I agree with the ladies above, it will take time to reduce the belly - I know it has been my most difficult challenge! Just keep up with the excellent eating and maybe add in some increased exercise when you feel ready and you will definitely see results.

V on 01/25/2013:
I am a horror buff myself :) You guys going to see "Mama" by chance? If so you must let me know what you think of it..Hey you are making great strides to get healthy so your belly will shrink, I promise! Have a great weekend Raven!

I must say, you people are great. The birthday cake response has been great. All the websites I went to have a lot of flexibility and substitutes for ingredients.

Some of you would like to see Darla cutting into frosted Styrofoam. Frustrated, another year older, with a large knife in her hand. Me laughing. (I see problems with this).

I'm leaning toward a Cheesecake. Her favorite, and I'll be safe.

Hope everyone had a good day.

Just42day on 01/24/2013:
Yeah, it's probably not a good idea to have Darla frustrated -- particularly when she has a knife in her hand... Do let us know what you ultimately make! Golf ball sized potatoes. How cute! Great job with exercise, too!

The day was just too busy to get away for 20min. of walking, but on the other end, I really didn't eat that much. (for me)Twice I had to get up from my BigSalad to fill orders that couldn't wait. Even threw part of it away. AND only ate half the pickle. I still find it hard to do this with popcorn(minibag). I've got some very good recipes to consider for Wifey's birthday cake. I was going to just make a regular box mix and cut a big hole in the center, so it kinda looks like a donut, only flat. (Half the calories, right ?) Anyway, I'll choose a website and let you all know Friday. Hope everyone has a great day.

Progress as of today: 12 lbs lost so far, only 21 lbs to go!

V on 01/23/2013:
Hahaha I actually like your donut cake idea LOL Glad you found a site with lots of other options, I am sure you will be creative :) Have a good day!

Just42day on 01/23/2013:
Idea for Wifey's b'day cake: Buy a 3-4 inch high piece of foam rubber available at fabric stores. Trace a pie pan on it and cut it in the size of a cake it. Frost it. It WILL look like a real cake. Wife has to be the one to cut it. (Knife will only bounce). Plus - no calories! :)

The donut cake sounds like a contender, haha. I'm sure you will come up with something great for your wife's birthday!

thenewMLE on 01/23/2013:
Popcorn is addicting! You don't have to be hungry, but if there is popcorn in the bowl your brain just takes over and your hand will reach in and grab until it is all gone - and then you want to lick the bowl or the bag!!! I hope you find a recipe that you like for the cake. One hint that I picked up is that you can replace oil or butter (fats) with apple sauce and not change the texture of baked goods. So if it is fats you are trying to avoid, apple sauce works. If it is white flour you are trying to avoid, just don't even try to make a cake or a cookie - you will be very disappointed. For me, with low carbs, I have a sugarfree cheesecake recipe that is AWESOME and you top it with fresh strawberries or blueberries. I also have a recipe for Decadent Chocolate Almond Torte and Peanut Butter Mousse Pie. Both are sugar free. Let me know if you want any of the recipes! Have a great day!

Amaretto Cheesecake - sugar free

Emily A great sugar free version of my favorite dessert!!! INGREDIENTS

1 lb cream cheese scant 3/4 cups splenda 1 Tbs amaretto liquor 1 tsp almond extract 1 tsp vanilla 1 pinch salt 2 eggs Ready Made Graham cracker crust - small DIRECTIONS

FILLING:

Beat cream cheese and splenda at medium speed for two minutes. Add liqueur, extracts and salt, blend well. Add eggs one at a time, blending at low speed only until each is incorporated. Pour filling into crust and bake at 350° 25-30 minutes. When done, remove from oven, let stand 10 minutes. TOPPING: slice fresh strawberries and spoon over cheesecake or if you want more of a "syrup" with the fruit follow the following instructions.

1 Take a 2 pints of fresh strawberries, remove the tops and slice them into a bowl. Sprinkle them with a tsp. of Truvia. Cover and put in the refrigerator and stir to encourage the strawberries to make a syrup. 2 After cheesecake has cooled, topped with strawberry topping as it is served to prevent the cheesecake from becoming too soggy. NOTES

Top with fresh blueberries without adding any extra sugar for a nice summer treat! Source: Emily

LOL Just42day's idea is awesome... my Mom did that once for my uncle's birthday - she used styrofoam and my brother and I iced it.

He was sweating hard trying to cut into it... didn't want to make her feel bad since we ALL knew she wasn't a very good cook/baker. So funny!

lolla on 01/23/2013:
Thanks for the Welcome! Hoping you have a great day!

skinnygrlwithin on 01/23/2013:
I'm very interested to see what you come up with for a good dessert for her birthday. If you don't need to do a cake, and are ok with birthday ice cream I have a good recipe... peel bananas, freeze, blend with a little milk, yogurt, etc... whatever your blender needs to get it going... and that's it, banana ice cream. My bf adds peanut butter or fudge sometimes... but it's yummy, healthy, super easy... not a cake though. :( You could form it in the shape of a cake?

Hungry all day ! I dunno. I just felt "Snacky", so I snacked on fruit and soup. I know I could have done a lot worse. Still sticking to my guns and staying off the burger and fries. Even soda pop. I just don't want soda pop any more since I've been drinking all this water. Tried the lemon herb tea. Liked it so much I had a 2nd cup. I'm cutting out decaf coffee. Only 1c. Yesterday. I think the hot coffee/tea helps keep me from snacking. Cold in the warehouse today. 6 degrees. Rehearsal after work. I gotta walk my 20minutes here. Hope everyone is good. You did really good with the snacks and yes we all have our days that we are hungry all day long. I am sure it won't harm ya since you kept it healthy :) RYC I can't speak for others on the site that do the protein shake but I am working on building more lean muscle..The shake I consume for breakfast fuels the muscles as well as maximizing recovery from lifting weights.. The Pre bedtime shake is a slower acting protein, it is key to maintaining an anti-catabolic state and significantly decreases the protein breakdown so it protects the body from feeding off the lean muscle tissue while I sleep.. Anyhoo hope that you had a good day :)

RYC: Not fretting at all, to the contrary I'm exceedingly pleased. Not suggesting you read my entire diary, but the last three years (about) have been a challenge to say the least. Aging gracefully (specifically menopause) ain't for sissies, to paraphrase Bette Davis.

It's taken a lot of patience, questioning, practice and hard work to get to where I am and that won't change as I continue on that path. Every day's a new day, as the song goes!

The realage thing used to be about a 5 min thing when I first signed on to it years ago, now it takes a good long while to answer everything. And they could probably add a few things. It's a good little "go by" to see where one group of drs thinks we might improve our chances at good health. Nice that it's free:-)

ps thanks for your concern, I appreciate it:-)

(Clean eating, exercise.)
Weight: 220.0

2eggs, 1bread, beans, soup.

salad, popcorn(minibag), pickle.

1slice liver, 1sm. Potato, peas.

Grapefruit, 2oranges.

Prayer before every meal.

H2o.

20min. Treadmill.

I lost 1 pound this week and I feel fine. The Ravens are in the superbowl, so I'm glad about that too. Switched from decaf coffee at night to some tasty herbal tea. I got a variety pack and tried Orange spice and camomile. I'm gonna keep on doing what I have been and enjoy this day. Hope everyone is good.

Progress as of today: 12 lbs lost so far, only 21 lbs to go!

I remember liking liver and fried onions when I was a kid. My mom would make it once every couple months and I liked it then. I last tried liver about 10 years ago, hated the taste, and can't see ever trying it again.

Congrats on your loss! I'm sure you'll see more as you're wonderfully consistent! Great job. Enjoy the liver -- it's one of my favorites!

Oh boy, liver. Liver. I can't seem to get past that part of your entry. Liver.

*shiver*

Anyways, glad to see you record a loss this week and glad that you are happy with your Ravens as well! Keep up the awesome work, and you'll have another great week :)

My Grandma went through a time where she would order liver and onions everytime we would go out to eat. I think she did it just to creep me out. Obviously i'm not a fan, but to each their own! And tradition, I hear that. It's why I eat perogies and cabbage rolls at Grandma's ;)
