OhioRaven - Thursday Jan 10, 2013
(Clean eating, exercise.)
Weight: 225.0

2eggs, 1bread, 1/4c. Beans, 1c. Soup.

4oz. Turky, can of tomato soup, 7crackers,1bag of popcorn.

(cheating) sm. Potato w/marg. 1can of tuna, sourkraut.

1slice of liver, 2c. Soup, 1/2 cheese sandwich.

2grapefruit, 2orange, 1banana, 1apple, 1yogurt.

Drank all my water.

22min. Treadmill.

I know I over ate. I was just hungry all day long. I was busy all day long. I was weak all day long.

It was difficult to make it through the day without thinking of what I could eat.

Today will be a better day. I'm gonna make it. And you guys are going to make it too.

Have a good day.

Progress as of today: 7 lbs lost so far, only 26 lbs to go!

V on 01/10/2013:
We all have our hungry days. You didn't eat unhealthy foods so I am sure you will be just fine :) Great job with the workout, hope you have lots of energy at work today!

thenewMLE on 01/10/2013:
Just a suggestion for overcoming the hungries - keep a small can of almonds at your desk or in your car. Take only 5 or so and that protein should satisfy you without spiking any blood sugar levels. The trick is eating a bunch of small meals or filling in with healthy snacks. But when the hunger strikes, the healthy snacks have to be there or you WILL eat off plan! Stay strong, one stray won't derail you - it is the habits that become permanent that will derail you. Have a great day!

graindart on 01/10/2013:
I know it's no comfort on the day you're hungry, but in a few months when you're under 200lbs looking back you won't even remember a day or two of hunger. If I make it through one of the hungry / weak days, usually the next day is much better. I don't know if the next day being better is physically or just mentally since I was proud of myself for having conquered the previous day.

IndependentEm93 on 01/10/2013:
Hunger kills me!

I don't seem to want soda pop anymore. I'm sure its because of all the water I've been drinking.

You all have a good day.

thenewMLE on 01/09/2013:
Water is such a better choice!! I am terrible at drinking enough water, but I gave up soft drinks years ago so I am not skipping the water for something less healthy, I'm just bordering on dehydration according to my dr.! I will drink water today and reflect on your big loss! Have a great day!

IndependentEm93 on 01/09/2013:
Yea WATER!!

graindart on 01/09/2013:
I got rid of the cans of pop in the house so that I wouldn't be tempted. I prefer freshly carbonated fountain Mtn Dew anyway. In past years I've tried switching to bottles of water, but would never seem to have them in the correct places to keep me hydrated throughout the day which caused headaches and hunger feelings. This time I kept my giant 64oz insulated Pepsi cup/jug and straw right at my desk where it always is. I fill it up once or twice per day as needed. I think it's a lot easier this time because I'm only changing one thing, the liquid inside. I'm already in the habit of grabbing it and sipping on it throughout the work day as I've done with Mtn Dew for the past decade+. BTW - congratulations on the weight loss, I'm looking forward to seeing a new lower number next Monday.

Tangalyn~ on 01/09/2013:
great job drinkin the water... i definately struggle with that.. hope u have a wonderful day :)

legcramps on 01/09/2013:
Great job!

graindart on 01/09/2013:
I've tried weighing myself only once per week, but find that weighing myself daily keeps things fresh in my mind. Unfortunately the pitfall of weighing daily is that you can see temporary swings in either direction that can cause a roller-coaster effect on the day to day emotions.

V on 01/09/2013:
Awesome job on the water intake! I know how hard it is to give up favorite beverages..For me it was coffee and energy drinks..It's been almost a year since I gave up both of them. I kicked them to the curb due to lack of sleep as well as making me far too hyper/nuts..LOL Hope that you had a good day :)

sailingeagle on 01/09/2013:
Keep on keeping on, Raven! You go girl!!! :)

Salad, cheese, ranch, 2oz turky.

Drank all my water

25 min. Treadmill.

I was hungry after work. Went back to the soup each time until my hunger was satisfied.

Got coffee at Mcds this morning. They are having a promotion where a lot of their food is only $1. Big Macks are a dollar, Fish, Nuggets. I used to eat there A LOT. I truly believe this is an attempt by the corporation to derail those people who have made a resolution to lose weight and are not eating their food anymore. The timing of this is just wrong. They are trying to knock us off our diets. I got the hell out of there. Thank God for what little will power I have.

Thanks for listening to my Rant.

Umpqua on 01/08/2013:
Great work resisting the McD's. Have you seen Food Inc.? I strongly suggest it and even the low prices won't tempt you once you see where that "food" comes from ;) Hope you have a good one!

legcramps on 01/08/2013:
I totally agree with Umpqua; crazy documentary, definitely a must-see for those who have some willpower issues with fast food. These days it's very rare for me to venture out for fast food.

Great job on the treadmill!

sweetpea1977 on 01/08/2013:
I used to eat at McD's twice a day five days a week because my office building was right across the street from it. I cant believe I used to eat that crap almost daily for 5 years straight. I havent been to a McD's since. Just the thought of eating that "food" makes me sick to my stomach! Good for you for sticking with their coffee. Thats probably the healthiest thing they serve, lol!

IndependentEm93 on 01/08/2013:
I work at McD's so I feel you!!! Have a great day!

graindart on 01/08/2013:
I probably would've exited that drive-thru with one of each. I know I don't make the best food decisions when it's sitting right in front of me, which is why I have to avoid even going there. I'm not a fan of McD's burgers, but I love their freshly cooked fries with extra salt. (and I've put away my share of sausage McMuffins too) Now that I've finished reading your entry and writing this comment, I really feel like going to McDonalds for some reason......but I won't.

V on 01/08/2013:
Great job on resisting the temptation and I have to agree with Umpqua, you have to watch the documentary..Hope that you had an awesome day :)

I struggle on the weekends too - great job choosing fruit. Congrats on your loss, that's amazing!

thenewMLE on 01/07/2013:
Fantastic loss!! I struggle to lose that much in 2 months!! The little choices are what add up. Bypassing sugar will really make a difference. Good luck this week!

IndependentEm93 on 01/07/2013:
Congrats on your loss!

getmebackto150 on 01/07/2013:
Good job choosing the food over the cake!!! That is a major win!!

Your food plan looks great, have a good one!

getmebackto150 on 01/04/2013:
Menu looks great!! No big ass jug of water today? I loved that yesterday!!

thenewMLE on 01/04/2013:
Your foods look good and even on the days with no formal exercise, try parking far away and walking fast or if you have stairs at home, make several trips fast up and down the stairs to get things, or just stand at your front step and step up and down for several minutes fast ever time you walk passed the door. My hubby dropped his weight faster than me by just giving up his cookies and sugar snacks. Sometimes just jogging the metabolism helps. Happy New Year and welcome to DD!

Umpqua on 01/03/2013:
Hi, welcome to you! The Shakeology class is an at-home workout DVD through Beach Body - it's a combo of cardio and free weights. As for my 4 classes I'm just pre-paying for 4 yoga classes in the hopes it will motivate me not to skip :) Clean eating is the way to go - it's much easier to overeat processed foods because your body doesn't get the regular signals that you're full. Have a good one!

legcramps on 01/03/2013:
Hey, welcome to DD's!

Way to drink that "big ass jug" of water. Oh, and nice breakfast. That would be my kind of breakfast... if I ate breakfast more regularly.

Have a great day today :)

getmebackto150 on 01/03/2013:
Welcome to DDs, you will find great accountability here:) Your menu looks great for today!! Cool to see that you did a biggest lose competition at work too, was it recently?? I've never done one before and I'm hoping it helps with extra motivation as I need whatever I can get!!

OhioRaven on 01/03/2013:
Hey, GetBack. The company had 2 Biggest Loser contests. About 2 years apart. We had a lot of teams. We had lots of goofy team names. There were 4 on each team. Our team won both years. I lost 64 lbs. Eating pickles, sourkraut and exercise.

getmebackto150 on 01/03/2013:
Pickles and sourkraut??? Is that all you ate? yikes, I'm not that hardcore I don't think, lol!

OhioRaven on 01/03/2013:
No, no, I ate other things. But those were my "Snacks"

Hello :) In answer to your question I am on Atkins. Congrats on getting in that workout! Good luck! :)

OhioRaven on 01/01/2013:
Thanks jack and V. It was easy with a big tv in front of the treadmill.

hollybelle on 01/02/2013:
Welcome.....on the app-you might try livestrong.com or sparkpeople.com. Also - I am your "neighbor" as I live in KY!

hollybelle on 01/02/2013:
I meant to mention, too, there's an app called My Fitness Pal that you might like. I know lots of people who use it.

Hi. I'm from Ohio. Male 53. I'm a Ravens fan. I used to be in weight watchers and used the point system. I want to find a group where I have to weigh in every week and be accountable. Thanks.

Progress as of today: 0 lbs lost so far, only 33 lbs to go!

Kati on 01/01/2013:
Hello! I hope you find here what you're looking for, and much more! :-)

OhioRaven on 01/01/2013:
I just pushed a shopping cart around Walmart without stopping for 25 mins. Does that count ?

NebraskaGirl on 01/01/2013:
Welcome!! .. Haha of course that counts!! :)

biscottibody59 on 01/01/2013:
Hi and welcome! If you check a site like fitday.com or myfitnesspal.com, yes pushing a shopping cart counts. Also you can update your actual entry to include that--and it will put your name at the top of the names so that it reflects your update.

I wish you well!

OhioRaven on 01/01/2013:
