Good afternoon

Great day took in some of the sun today so nice to warm up and read a book while getting a little bit of colour back. 

Will be cooking dinner soon for myself and my friend we are being pretty good with our food routine.  We are both on a routine and that is just wonderful to be with somebody has concious about the food we eat and buy.

No real plans for the rest of the day of tomorrow it is a whatever I feel like doing when I wake up tomorrow.  I need to make a trip to the beach.... I so not a tourist.... lol

Vitamin D is a grand old thing! I hear that low levels of Vitamin D promote sickness! I might up mine....then again, i take enough pills, so nevermind that!

Yes agreed, nice to be with healthy people instead of the other way around...you are guaranteed to make better choices!

Beach is nice...you don't need to be a tourist everyday...relax a bit first is a brilliant idea! :-D

Good morning

All is good I am in the sunshine and feeling much better now that my cold bones are warming up.

I will be posting on and off at times but definitely just going to concentrate on enjoying the weather.

I am keeping with my routine which is pretty simple since I can cook my own food and stay on track - do not want too many surprises in that on holidays.  I know I will have some cheats but I usually balance those out.

Got back home from the cottage last night.  All is good at this end food and water.

I am 5 days away from departure definitely on the clock now to get everything done.

Not to sure what is my food for today trying to empty what I have in the house before I leave.  For sure it will be protein and vegetable apart from that I cannot be specific.

Welcome back from the cottage! Glad you are on a good streak, as per your status quo!

Glad you are departing soon...man, i didn't realize how late in the winter your trip was! glad you had a warmer winter than most around your neck of the woods, right?

glad you have some food around and that you have been able to keep your healthy routine going.

healthy eating definitely makes me feel much better - i'm on such a roll from a month ago even! more healthy eats is making me feel better. less sugars.

I usually leave end of Dec but this year had to renew drivers license and health cards since my BD is March and can only do it 3 months ahead of time then I had to wait to get them in the mail. My last card is due in today or Monday then I am off till Spring/April 15. So this will be my last few days of Winter till next year.

I'm glad you are able to get away now then! Please take extra sun for me - although - i am so happy this year winter was extra short! :-) The "warmer" temps in the 40's have made it SO EASY for me to get out to the parks on the weekends and walk. That's my plan today - even did laundry last night so that all i have to do today is get to the park...and then a massage around an hour away as i like that therapist! fun times this weekend...oh and gym tonight. haha....nice weekend.

I'm glad you are heading towards the warmer weather as it's much easier to feel good when our bodies aren't fighting the cold! but for this year, like i said, i was blessed. i hope for more future winters like this one! i haven't gotten sick at all!

Good morning

I had a productive day yesterday and was able to accomplish a lot of my errands and household duties.  My food was good but water slightly on the low side. 

Today I will be doing some pre-cooking for tomorrow just getting things started for dinner party.

I also have to continue cleaning out my car and get that finished.  Yesterday I got my windows cleaned and cleaned out the junk that I have been putting off getting out of the car.  Still have to organize the trunk and get my golf clubs out of the storage and into the car.

The weather has been so mild but we are suppose to be getting back into the deep freeze by late next week.  Not looking forward to that kind off enjoying this relief from the cold.

Well that is about all that is going on around here time for me to get my day started.

Good evening guys

It has been a busy week I have been getting things ready for my company on the weekend to celebrate some birthdays plus my friend came over to spend a few days with me. 

I leave in a week and half it is really getting close and still have lots of things to put together for that. 

My food is on track that part is really no suprises in my routine just too busy to actually think of cheating on my food, actually it is more remembering to feed myself.  Was nice to have somebody to eat with this week.  Nothing like having company for coffee in the morning and actually having somebody to cook with and plan dinners with.

with the eggs...egg whites are far fewer cals, but the yoke is healty. i would have one full egg and the rest whites? i would - then you can eat quite a bit more for MUCH LESS cals...1 egg = 80 cal or so. 1 egg white is only 20 cals.

yes, i agree, it's SO NICE to have people to eat with and restuarants to go out too!

Tomorrow i'm going out for both meals - late lunch and an early dinner! haha...looking forward to this crazy change of pace!

bdays and nice times with friends are wonderuful when you truly enjoy the friendship of others around you!

Good morning

I am back in town for the week since I have a dinner party coming up and some birthday shopping to do.

This plateau is starting to get to me.  It has been months since I have had any movement.  The only advantage is that it has been rather easy to maintian this weight.  I really do not know how I could cut or add or do more exercise without making it out of my normal life and going crazy on all of the above mentioned items.  The food is good, the activities are good, the water is good.  I am starting to wonder if my body just feels comfortable at this weight.  Anyway that is what is on my mind right now.  I know that my goal is to loose about 5 to 10 pounds a year and maybe that is the only thing I need to concentrate on since I did meet my goal for last year and the coming year will be whatever it will be.

That is about it for me just back and will do my regular routine.  Wishing you all a great day.

I feel your frustration. I guess my only suggestion would be to change something up for a week or so, to "jolt" your body. I was going to suggest adding a 2nd workout of 20-30 minutes, 2-3 times a week. I read that this is what Oprah has done in the past. I guess I have too: when the weather warms up, I love taking a 2nd walk in the evening.

But as Annie suggested, it may just be that your body is comfortable at this number. So then, perhaps the change would be in your focus? I don't know... Have a glass of wine, everything is much easier to deal with a glass of wine (or two)...

Maintenance is the ultimate goal and that I seem to have a handle on, plus my year was good did attain my goal. Wine I do incorporate my wine treat on and off it is all worked into the process. I have changed up my routine food/exercise the journey has been good and I cannot complain feel real good at this weight it is just the number is big if I can get over seeing such a number I might just have it made... lol. The other thing is that I would love to get back to the next step the size 14 pants but honestly I have very few clothes that size more of the size I am now. I will let it ride and just enjoy life on this healthy track.

I would hate to be told the my weight isnt going to budge. OF course it can. It will probably just suck to do so. Have you consider trying to cut carbs for a week? Or fluctuating calories day to day? Those have worked in the past for me to make the weight budge.

My calories vary from 1200 to 1800 a day and carb are usually not the problem I alternate having and not having them. It has taken me a little more then 3 years to get here and have had long plateaus all through the process. The only great part is the maintenance part it is the easy for me during these plateaus I just have to let my body decide as it usually does when it will start dropping again. My body seems to have a mind of its own no matter what I do. Thanks for the advice. We all seem to loose differently. Sorry to hear about the problem you seem to be going through.

You can lose the weight, but, you will have to change what you currently do somehow. It doesn't mean a major change....

Maybe just do something slightly different like 2 days a week to start, more water, for instance...or more herbal teas and maybe change what you put in your coffee? or when you go to brunch, you can try egg whites instead of egg or something like that....

it will require, unfortunately, some slight change.

your goal isn't drastic, only a few lbs more, so it's not major changes you have to make :)

I am just starting my new year and the goal is 5 to 10 pounds. it is still early - I am going away soon into summer weather which means being out more I will take it from there. My eating habits are real good right now - no sugars - controlled cart intake - lots of veggie - lean protein fish/chicken/seafood/some beef and some pork but always the lean cuts. Once a week I have eggs it is a little over the top to think of cancelling one real egg for egg whites don't you think.... if I did that all the time that would be different.

Good morning

Another cold and snowing day and the same for the next few days plus freezing rain on Wednesday.  I am trying to get out to the cottage but it seems I will wait it out till it gets a little better.  Pete is coming in today and will probably try to follow him back on Wednesday.  

Food is on track.  Laundry day and getting some stuff done in the house.  My Son's family are off to a hockey tournament this weekend looking forward to hearing how this one will go.  This week they had to have their dog Dakota put down he was old 15 years a Spaniel.  It was very sad for them and the kids they have always had him in their lives.

Good afternoon

Yesterday was a good day.   All on track.

Had to go out today to take in the sale at one grocery store before everything runs out since I am having my family over on Dec 22 for my son's birthday and my brother's birthday they are only a few days apart and I have decided to celebrate them together.  30 years difference in age between the two so there will be many candles on that big cake... lol  I could get carried away and put the 104 candles but that would be a little over the top.... lol.  Would be interesting to see if they can blow them all out. 

It is so cold outside today and in two days it will be 5 and rain such crazy weather this year never know how to dress for outside and I do not want to catch a cold.

I took some of the leftover turkey out of the freezer today and will make something with that for diner.

Good Afternoon

It has been a busy two days.  Had company for the weekend and now it is back to normal.... all is good.

Not to sure about this week might just take off for a little while but it is still to be determined.

It is bitterly cold here today and later this week it will mild and rain such crazy weather.  Four weeks before departure.  It has been long waiting for my late departure this year but trying to make the best of it.

I went to my grandson's hockey game today and we won 8 to 2 they are doing great.

Dinner tonight is to be determined not sure maybe some shrimps with veg in some kind of indian sauce.  I just wish somebody would cook it for me...lol

So that is about all that is going on here hope you are all doing well.

Good morning guys

I am back for a few days.  It was amazing time at the cottage.  We got tones of snow and yes we had to dig ourselves out... lol  Looking forward to my departure to the sandy beaches. 

Will be returning next week to cottage for another period of time trying to take advantage of the best of two worlds.

I have to have my car check something sounds wrong with it.

Today I need to go and get my driver's lic. and health card renewed because it expires while I am away this Winter down south and do not want to get stopped with an expired driver's lic....

Food as been pretty good and yes I have been having a glass or two of wine at dinner but it seems to be holding ok as far as the scale.

He has a guy come in to do the bib stuff but the porch and the balconies had to be shoveled. It was good exercise and the weather was cool but beautiful sunshine. We were out two hours. Went in and had a glass of wine.... lol
