Good morning

Yesterday was good on food and water low plus one glass of wine.  It was a week of wine so I thought I might as well finish it off the right way.  I am going to have to give up my wine routine from Paris. 

So it was fun, noisy, crazy - about 15 people - crazy humid thank God for A/C.

I have not decided what today will bring I know it is a holiday here so probably just get some stuff done around the house which I have neglected since I got back plus I had neglected it before I left on holidays so it really needs some work. 

Not sure also what the menu will be today but definitely some of the veg in the fridge before I loose them and have to put them in the garbage.

Good afternoon

Been away again.  Food and water have been pretty good not complaining.  Will be glad when Summer is over and I can settle into a easier routine from being on the go all the time.

Today is my granddaughter's birthday party so I am out again for the party.  Should be ok not going to worry about it will pick healthy anyway.  I enjoy now actually craving healthy instead of the fatty because I get so many side effects of the fat calories it just sits in my stomach and I don't feel right for extended period of time so not worth it. 

That is it for today hoping for a quiet week and will try to make it happen as far as I know I hve nothing on the books for this week.

Good morning guys

The past few days have definitely not been perfect because cottage and booze go together lol lol.

So I am back home and back on track.  I have a lot to do around the house and get everything put away.  I have to stay put for a few days lol... I have been on the go a lot with the holidays and then going away again.  OK back to work on my goal.   I will not weight myself for a week not that I feel as if I gained but just in case.  I will give it time to readjust.

Good morning

Hi guys all is good food and water.

I am off to breakfast with brother and s-i-l and then from there I am going to the cottage for the rest of the week.  The weather is going to be high for the rest of the week and the cottage sounds perfect.  You would think I would want to be home especially since I just got home but a week at the lake sound perfect lol...... 

Hope you all have a wonderful week will check in upon my return.  I am not bringing my laptop and turning the world off for the peaceful sounds of nature.

Good morning guys

I am back on my routine still struggling with the time but all else is good food and water.  I weighed myself this morning because it is the last day of the month and I always keep a log of the full month loss.  The posted weight is right I am 206.  I started August at 210 and now 206 -  4lbs this month. 

September starts tomorrow and that is my last month on my one year challenge.  I wanted to be at 200 by the end of September but 6 lbs is a lot to loose.  I will have to accept close enough as good and considering how close it will be I consider it a success.

Today is very hot here and the entire week will be very hot.  Tomorrow out for breakfast and then meeting a friend in the pm.  Will be going to my S-I-L another one from my husband's side of the family -  a few days at the cottage will be nice with the weather being what it will be.

Good morning

I am back and having a hard time adjusting my inner clock -  Yesterday was a day where instead of having 24 hrs had 30 hrs.  Today I need to adjust my eating times also.  It is worst going backward in time then going forward in time.  lol.....  Anyway I am back, I am safe and I had a wonderful time and now onto the next amazing stage of my life.

Next week is my granddaughter's 7th birtthday so a party.  Tomorrow out for breakfast with my brother and S-I-L and we have a lot of catching up to do. 

I feel a little swollen from the plane ride so will wait to get on my scale.  I feel good about it anyway so nothing to worry about sure would love to see the same number as on the Paris scale but we will see.  I will tell you guys later this week.

Good morning

I got on the scale this morning because my pants are getting loose and I am down another 2 lbs.  It just seems to be falling off with all these walks.  I am walking almost from morning till evening and it is paying off.  I decided when I got here that I would do that simply because I wanted to explore the little streets and the different neighbourhoods.  

So I am back for lunch and a small nap before I head out again. 

Tomorrow is my clothes shopping day.  I will get some accessories and a few other things but since my size is changing no big clothes items.  I also have to bring back some small things for the kids. 

Well off to lunch and a snooze before my next adventure.

Fantastic! That's one of the things I miss most about living in a city. I used to be able to eat a lot more because of all the walking. Enjoy it :)

That is fantastic to be losing weight on vacation. When we were in Paris we walked 5-7 miles every day! Such a good way to live.

Good afternoon guys

I had a nice time at the gardens it really felt unusual to be at the site of those paintings.  To step back and be in the very spot of such great works is mind blowing.  It was a very peaceful day and that is exactly what I was expecting.

I got on the scale this morning and it is down 1 lb.  This holiday is proving to be a great exercise routine with all the walking and the getting around the city.  I am enjoy it.  I have been experimenting with trying new street to get back home but I got lost yesterday and it ended up being a longer walk then expected.  You can just get lost in these wonderful small streets. 

Today is a relax day trying a new cafe for dinner tonight.

I've really enjoyed catching up with your last few entries. You're doing amazingly well and it's nice to read about your adventures and also about the eating culture there. I think you're right in that they don't eat fast food and I think it's also that they eat small portions of real whole foods, not processed boxed stuff. That was the case in Italy, pasta and bread in small amounts (and of course lots of wine) but also lots of vegetables and small amounts of lean protein. You're so lucky you have another week there!

Would not be not hard but would have to get a permission from the Embassy and it would have to specify the duration of the stay. The disadvantage of permanently moving there is the kids and all of my Canadian benefits that I would loose out on and for that reason would not be to my advantage. For now I will enjoy the fact that I can travel to this place and take in all of what it has to offer.

Love your posts. The museum where I guide had 2 of Monet's haystack paintings so I'm frequently thinking about his house in Giverny. Beautiful spot. Love the dining room of his house. Loved the restaurant L'Epigramme , may be in your neighborhood. Wonderful food at reasonable prices.

L'Epigramme is in the 6th Arrondissemnt near St.Germain Bd.. I am in the 18th Arrondissement on the other side of La Siene but at about the same level. Thank you for telling me about that restaurant could be a nice going away dinner for me.

Good afternoon all

Yesterday was a real nice day.

Enjoying the atmosphere around here.  Just a week left but I am really starting to just fit into a routine.  I have been watching what these people eat since I have been eating out a lot have learned a lot.  The scale does not seem to be showing any damage I still weigh the same - so if I look at that and compare it to all the liberties I have been taking you have to wonder if their is not some logic to their madness with eating.  It is true that I have been doing a lot of walking but in the pass few days the exercise has not been high on the agenda with the travelling back from Brussels and taking a day off. 

This morning I went back to church at Notre Dame thought I would take advantage of that.  So wonderful and just something special about it all.  That was a nice walk not long but their is a flight of stairs that is enough to kill you.  They have steps here  between the levels from one street to the other and I almost felt like Stallon on the top step once I managed to get up there.  lol lol .....  Back for an afternoon little nap and will be heading out again.  

I might not be on tomorrow since I am planning my day at the Monet gardens now that will be quite a bit of walking but there are benches all over to take a rest and then you continue -  it is a at your own pace kind of place.  They bring you there and then you know what the departure time is so all you have to make sure is be back at the bus in time.
