Good afternoon all

Yesterday was good food and water.

We are having such a storm this just reinforced my desire to leave.

I had my lasagna and that was good and my soup yesterday.  Today not too sure about my food plan, but since I have nothing else in the house but what I am suppose to eat and I have no trigger foods in the house and outside is the storm from hell I do not think that making a choice in the food category will be a problem because I have no bad options in the house and I am not going out.

Today just relax day. Wishing you all a great day.

Hang in there with the storm!

museumgirl on 12/10/2014:
Hope you are riding out the storm alright. I guess being snowbound is good for avoiding those trigger foods! Take care.

Good morning everyone

Yesterday was good food and water.

I got all my stuff done yesterday at least what was on my todo list for yesterday.  A few more things will get done today but I have made this list so that it is not causing me any pressure and have spread it over two weeks now.  I will get to xmas at the same time as everybody else and will get everything done on time just not at the crazy speed I usually put myself through.

We are expecting a big snow storm this evening through tomorrow 20cm of snow/mix.  That will make it an interesting time for drivers and that is why I wanted to get my errands done yesterday because I will not be going out in this weather.  I certainly have enough inside to do.

I have taken out a lasagna that I made a few weeks ago and that will be my meals for two days plus I have my soup for the snack and that will be my plan.

I wish you all a great day.

Agree on going at a reasonable pace....I am learning this, too. Take care if you do go out in the snow! So far we are just getting rain....I actually wouldn't mind a snow day.

Have a good SnowDay, Puddy.

Looks good--wish I had some of your lasagna!

Good Morning All

Yesterday food and water was good.

I have to run some errands today and start packing some stuff and again do some house cleaning and I have some laundry to do.  Actually this is enough stuff on my todo  list for the entire week.  Time is really closing in to xmas and my departure.  It is funny how everything seems far away and then all at once it is real close and a lot of things have to be done.  I usually don't leave things to be done at the last minute but I have been busy lately.

In our blogs I find a lot of us are all making soups lately.  It is definitely a sign of the times and weather.  I enjoy my soups in Winter.  It is a feel good food and also a healthy choice.

I am not going out with my brother and s-in-law this week but they came over last evening just for a coffee and we will meet up next week for breakfast.  My brother has a unusual work schedule and we are trying to get as many time to see each other before I leave.  I always called him my little brother but he is older then me.  We have a great relationship eventhough we where like cats and dogs as kids lol lol - funny how that turns out when you grow up.

That is about all for me and I wish you all a great day.

Soups are delicious and so healthy for us! Also, pretty cheap to make. It is nice you have a good relationship with your brother. Wish I could say the same for me and mine! :)

biscottibody59 on 12/08/2014:
Good to have a brother like that!

Hope you get all your chores done--good going!

skinnygrlwithin on 12/08/2014:
I love my soups around this time... it always tastes good and it warms me right up! I'm always cold during the winter! I love the relationship you have with your brother... it's nice to be close with family.

Good aternoon all

Yesterday was excellent food and water.

Today was my weigh-in day and I am pleased that the plateau has finally decided to leave.  I was very surprised to see that I dropped 5 pounds this week considering that I had 3 meal out at a restaurant this week this is a miracle.  I had originally changed my goal for the end of December to 255 instead of my original goal of 250 so I am returning to my original goal of 250.

My dinner out last night went real well I kept to my guns and made a wise choise I did no feel that I was missing out on anything.  I still feel full this morning and will have an early dinner tonight.

I have not had sugar in such a long time and I have to admit that having no sugar was the solution to my cravings and my evening snacking time.  It took me a long time to discover this and yet I knew this from the first time I lost my weight 12 years ago but this time just was not prepared to accept that fact again of having to deprive myself of the sweets.  For me they are deadly.

Today I am just relaxing and taking it easy.  Wishing you all a great day.

Thank you.

Jezebel on 12/07/2014:
Congratulations. Wow that's wonderful. I'm really glad your scale is moving again. I felt frustrated for you even though you were so graceful going through it. I've read antidotal accounts of plateaus being broken by shaking things up. Do you think that's what happened in your case by eating out? It sounds like the restaurant you did so well at should be your "go to" place for those times when you just must go out to get out and about. I admire your calm throughout the plateau. I hope you had a good time on your date. Enjoy your relaxing evening...

puddles on 12/07/2014:
I did not do anything differently to get it started - consistency is the best thing for plateau in my case - my body just needed a rest and now it is ready to get going again. The big thing is not getting upset about it and reach for things or try different things or try to fix it. Got to go with the flow.

biscottibody59 on 12/07/2014:
Yeah, the zig-zag calorie thing works. Or you were just due because you're so very consistent:-)

At any rate, congrats to you on your progress--keep up the good work!

Good Morning Guys

Yesterday was excellent food and water.

I did well at the restaurant yesterday - I did have the chicken with house salad and the rice.  The only extra I had was a glass of wine.  That does put right on track with my calorie count and keep me safely on my plan.

Tonight I have another outing and I feel confident about that also.  Since it is at the same restaurant it will be an easy decision.

Hope you all have a great day.

Good monring all

Yesterday was excellent food and water.

Tonight is my girlfriends retirement party and our supper out.  I am prepared mentally as to what I will pick and also to stay on track.  Fortunately for me it is a familiar restaurant and know their menu well.

The DD members are not posting as much as a month ago - I really miss the support but I will not let it stop me from pursuing my goal.  It might be because of the holidays but it seems this is the time when we need more support then anything else.  Anyway it is what it is and I will keep posting and working on myself.

The weather is getting real cold and I am looking forward to leaving.  Next week I will pre-pack my suitcase since I am packing Summer clothes and then all that will be left will be the bathroom products.  My golf clubs are already in the car but I do have to wash my car windows inside.

That is about all for me for today and I will let you know how my supper went and what my selection was.  Have a great day.

Hope you have a great time tonight!Sounds like you are really ready for your snow-bird trip, as well. Have a great time tonight, hope to hear about it tomorrow :)

Jezebel on 12/05/2014:
Don't get discouraged. On one hand, support is crucial, but in reality this is a walk we walk alone. Not everyone is going to be as social or as dedicated to posting and commenting as others. Some people draw energy from others. I go within for my strength, and I record in my diary for my own benefit. It's a time for reflection and clarity of though - and some days it's for hashing out destructive brain chatter.

If I don't comment on your posts, please know that if you ask for advice or help, I'm there. But my silence is not a rebuke. I read all your posts and I see you have great inner strength and faith in yourself and confidence in your plan. I appreciate your cheerful morning posts.

Enjoy your night out. :)

biscottibody59 on 12/05/2014:
This is the "deadest" of dead DDs--EVER!

But we're all here, so that's what counts! There will be some people who come back after the new year I'm sure.

Sounds like a fun time--enjoy!

ohioraven on 12/05/2014:
Well, as for me, i,ve been about as busy as one man can be. I barely have time to read everyones post but Puddy I want you to know i'm still here. Even though it seems like i'm lurking in the shadows. Your consistency and progress is amazing. Please keep it up. I'm not going away.

Good morning guys

Yesterday went real well with the food and water.

My breakfast out with my brother and sister-in-law went well.  I decided to have the breakfast club.  So if I break it down

3 toast no butter

1 egg

1 slice of cheese

lettuce and tomatoe

two slices of bacon

No Mayo and no Homefries

I think it adds up to about 750 cal. and maybe even a little less since I left 1/4 of the breakfast club because I was full.   I made the choice of not having the toast buttered and having no mayo which basically add empty calories.   For supper I still felt full from my late breakfast/lunch so I had a large cup of soup and that was good and it carried me to my sleep time.

Today I am back to my regular routine no outings and no temptations.  I feel that my plateau might have a chance of breaking through this week.  Sometimes a change in eating habits help your body decide to get going again in the right directions.

Wishing you all a great day.

I find your insight on the "fullness factor" pretty remarkable. And at breakfast you stayed away from two fatty condiments too. And the fat in the homefries too.

I'm glad you shared that.

Makes one think about a few things!

Good morning all

Yesterday was another excellent day food and water.

I am off early today to meet my brother and sister-in-law for breakfast.  My challenges start - I am looking forward to the challenge because the feeling of having done good is further acknowledgement that I can make good choices without depriving myself.  I think that wanting that feeling helps me to do the right choice.  The other thing about going out with them is that they are supportive of my journey and do not play it up or down in any way.  They are always complimentary about how I am doing and that helps to keep me on the straight and narrow while I am out at the restaurant with them.

The rest of my day has no real plan that I can think of.  The weather is not good this morning snowing and calling for rain and snow so I will have to be careful on the road since it is the first few time of snow and people have forgotten how to drive in the snow.

Hoping you have a great day and I will give you an update on the choices tomorrow.

Haha I say the same thing when it first snows - people completely forget how to drive!

I think it's great that you have such a loving and supportive family. It definitely makes this journey easier.

Good morning guys

Yesterday was another excellent day food and water.

This week will be busy.  Wednesday out for breakfast with my brother and sister-in-law.  Friday night retirement party for one of my girlfriends.  Saturday might be going out on a dinner date now that is interesting. LOL LOL   It will be a lot of days of eating out I will just have to manage my choices and let it go.  There is an saying in OA (Overeaters Anonymous) Let go and let God and that is exactly what I will have to do.  Sometimes we are just powerless on some of the things and we have to trust that all will all be ok.

Yesterday I did all my errands and picked up the groceries I needed which are much less since I will be out soo much.  It was good to get them done because I think the weather will change in the next few days and you know what I think about Winter weather - not a fan. lol

I have been fighting the scale this morning I just feel like my body has loss some weight - you know how sometime you can just feel it - but that would get me going again of weighing myself daily and that is for me a rollercoaster mind twisting of ups and downs so I will resist.

Wishing you all a great day.

skinnygrlwithin on 12/02/2014:
This is definitely a rough time of year with all the parties and eating out but like you said you just have to let it go. Stay positive.

Good morning all

Yesterday was excellent food and water.

Welcome to December - hard to believe we are in the last month of the year.  It seems the years go fast and faster every year.  I think the older you get the faster they go - as a child I remember Summer holidays lasting forever and now Summer comes and it seem to be over in a week.

Yesterday was an amazing day it seems that I was so busy that I did not think about eating until 7pm I thought about Horn of Plenty with the fasting but of course this was not done on purpose.  My intake of food yesterday was low because of the situation and my water was the normal 7 to 8 cups.  Maybe this will be the turning point of my plateau we will see.  It is really rare that I do not think of food.  I got up real late it was 10 am and of course my day was late at starting so by the time I got everything done it was late afternoon and I was really not hungry but just wanted to relax before eating and that is how I ended up eating at 7pm.

Today will be not as busy so I doubt very much that super will be so late.  It really does not matter as along as I stick to my being on track that is my main goal.

That is about all for me for today wishing you all a wonderful day.
