Good morning all

Had a fantastic day yesterday.  Water good 9 glasses and food extremely good (I actually was not really hungry) definitely something wrong with me LOL LOL.

Another storm on the way.  Snow snow snow next two days will start this pm and will last for two days.  GIVE ME A BREAK.  I dont think I will ever believe that groundhog ever again.  He is only spreading false hope. LOL

I have nothing planned for today.  It is a total ME ME ME day.  I will have a nice long soak in the tub/do some reading/do my nails/pamper myself.  I am taking a day off.  I am not to sure that is what they are called when you are retired but even if your retired you need days off.  My son laugh at me when I tell him I need a holiday or I need a day off.  He usually says mom your always off and shakes his head. LOL

Have a fantastic day!! Those "Me Days" are so delightful - it's like a recharge of your personal batteries! I hope the snow doesn't get to deep. I called him a hedgehog the other day and I told my hubby that the hedgehog got it all wrong. He informed me that it is a groundhog and what he sees only applies to Pennsylvania! Oh, well, wherever he forecasts for , he was really wrong this year!! Have a great weekend too.

Good Morning all

All is good food just a little off yesterday.  Really hungry for protein - don't know why.  Water was on track 9 glasses. I had a normal sleep last night my regular 6 hrs.  It does not surprise me after sleeping so long the day before. 

We are having a cold -27 with windchill but sun will shine  today.  The sun is definitely welcomed.

I have decided that I will have a last weigh-in this month on the 28 feb.  I will have a monthly total.  That will give me a  weekly and monthly reference.  Of course that is just me and it would be interesting to follow the two numbers.  Just statistics.

Today is busy according to my schedule - nothing as compared to a lot of you guys on here.  Errands to run - attend Condo board meeting since I am on the board and have to send off my agreement and money for my rental in Myrtle Beach for next year.  It is an expensive day. LOL

Good job with the water! I like the idea of tracking your numbers. It's nice when you can reference for comparison. I actually went back to last year's diary entries to see what I was eating when my best losses happened. RYC, I have been over busy since Katrina. I used to work at home with my own business but Katrina killed that. I now work at an office for about 55 hours a week (6:30 am to 5:30 pm M -F) which was a big adjustment for me. I went from a very creative profession (photographic artist) to a stressful job in construction. As I am turning 52 this year, it seems that the demands on me have just continued to exponentially multiply. I have a daughter getting married next year and one still in college with medical issues. My parents live across the street (almost 80 years old) and they have been totally dependent on me for the last 4 months because of medical issues. I also take care of MIL who lost FIL 10 years ago and just had a double hip replacement. In the midst of all that I started to gain weight and everyone told me I needed to exercise so I had to make room in this already crazy life of mine to ride my bike for at least an hour 5 days a week. That's done after work but before dinner that I have to plan on the weekends and cook and prep so that I can serve without a lot of difficulty on the weeknights. So I don't mean to complain, I guess I'm just tired and when something stupid like crashing my bike happens, it causes a domino effect in everything else I do. I realize I am fortunate to have a job, have my parents and have my family but I just really thought I would have some time for me at this stage in my life. Anyway, we are all busy in our own ways and your busy is no less important than mine! I hope you have good meeting and manage to stay warm!!!

Good morning all

All is good - food and water 9 glasses.

My only problem is this weather we are having - snow again today.  When is it going to end.  I should not complain too much there are people on this site that have far more serious problems then snow.  It seems small when I think about it.  I am getting cabine fever though.

I went to bed at 7:30 last night (so tired) and got up at 5:00 am this morning - good night of sleep I would say.  That seldom happens to me but it is welcomed.  I feel really rested and ready to take on my new week of my plan.  It seems that I go days with short sleep period (5 or 6 hrs) and then I get one of those night where I get 10hrs.  Bad sleeping habits. I have always been that way.  It is not only since I am retired it was the same thing when I was working. 

In one of the blogs yesterday somebody talked about the veg. that are healthy for you.  I am totally crazy about cabbage, cauliflower and brocolli I have those almost every day and I like to sprinkle a little bit of vinegar on these veg. it gives it just an additional nice taste.  Since veg. are so low in calories I really fill up on them.  My grocery  list is veg/fruit/meat/protein - cheese - eggs.  It is basically my meal plans for every day except for my morning 1 whole grain dry toast and grapefuit every other meal is veg and a protein.  It seems to work for me.  Keeps my cal/fat/carbs low.

You're exactly right about our own problems. If everyone threw their troubles into a big pile in front of everybody, and had to pick up an other's. People could see how much worse everyone else's troubles are, and then they pick their own back up. Have a good day, Puddy.

I TOTALLY understand about the cabin fever! We had an unseasonably warm day--here in Ohio--Monday (it was around 50 degrees). I went for two walks that day; I loved it! But the very next day, the temperatures dropped drastically, it began snowing, and the winds were high. I am going to be thrilled when spring arrives!!!!!!

Good morning all

All is good here - water on track 9 glasses and my food was a success again yesterday.  I feel real good about that.

Last evening I got a muscle cramp in my ankle and it took about 4 hrs before I started to feel some relief.  I have experience cramps in my toes or my lower leg or the arch of my foot but my ankle there was nothing I could do - could not bend it nothing helped.  I put on my heating pad and just kept it warm and it worked.  I was was so tired after that I just fell asleep.

We are having a snow storm today absolutely unreal the plow is cleaning our parking lot and there is over a foot of snow everywhere.  This as got to end soon.

My plan for today is just to take it easy.  Certainly there is no reason to go out in this weather.

Puddles - Monday Feb 18, 2013

Good morning all

Great surprise when I weighed in  this morning I loss 5.1 pds.  I am doing my happy dance.

Yesterday was good -  water was right on and my food was also good.  It seems I have fallen into a routine which I dont mine following.  It is of course the 1st week of my plan and I have a second week (this week) before I go off again to maintenance for two weeks.  

Week 6 starts. I am hopefull  that I am on the right track for myself.

I got all my stuff done yesterday and maybe event more than what I had planned.  I seem to have more energy and I have to admit that my knee feels better also.  It is probably because I am carrying less weight.  I still have to go out again today - I am sure you all have done this forgot to put something on your list because you thought you would remember - should never trust myself to remember always right it down.  So I have to go back out and it is cold again today.

Good morning all

Yesterday was a good relax day.  I kept up with my schedule and had 10 glasses of water and my food is on track.  All is good.  Tomorrow is the big weigh-in day.

Apart from that not much going on here.  We are having a nice sunny day but cold.  The sun feels real good after the snowy week we had.  I do have some little errands to run and clean up to do in my house.

Good afternoon all

I am back from my few days away from home.  I can report it was a success.  I was good with my food and water.  I am actually amazed that I did not struggle to stay on track.  There were certainly a lot of goodies - chips and ice cream and all sorts of those things  which I usually gravitate towards and to my surprise I was not tempted.  The only thing I can say about that is that I have probably truely made up my mine that this is my time to loose the weight.  I have no explanation.  

While I was there we looked at the rentals for next Winter and we made our reservations for Jan Feb and Mar next year.  I know it is early but no way are we spending another Winter here.  My friend moved to my town two years ago so we had put it on hold (winter holidays) because he had quite a few expenses in getting his place to his taste.  That is done now and now  we go back to our Winters away.  The difference this time is that we are doing the whole 3 months in Myrtle Beach SC instead of 2 months Florida and 1 month Myrtle.  We thought we would try that.  I know it is not has hot as Fl but there is no snow and that is all we are interested in - but there is golf year round.  WoW LOL LOL.  Our canadian dollars is really strong right now another advantage - at par.  

My plan for today is just to relax.  It is always tiresome not to be in your own place and have your own things around - even though I am quite comfortable in his place.  So relax day.  Do all the stuff I am suppose to do to stay on track and keep on trucking.  I am looking forward to my weigh-in on Monday morning and the end of my week 5.  The time has just gone by so fast  I can't believe it has been almost 5 weeks since I started.  

OK I will catch up on all the stuff you guys have been up to during my absence and will talk to you later.

RYC: I keep a bunch of info on my diary so I'll have a central place to refer to it--most people don't even bother with it. (Actually it's 5 wkts (workouts) completed out of 115 possible. In a year's time.)

Happy Valentine's Day to all

Yesterday was good 10 glasses of water and food is on track.  I feel good about that becauce I am eating out tonight.  I have decided what I am having and since I picked the restaurant I will be able to stay on track.  The only thing is that I have not decided if I will allow myself a glass of wine or not.  I will make that decision at the reataurant.

I have a lot of stuff to do before the end of the day.  You guys know the regular stuff - shave and get all prettied up. LOL LOL - wow that is a hard day of work LOL

I want to be back by Saturday to my routine and he understands that too.  It is  easier to follow my plan when I am not in my own little environment.   My weigh-in is Monday morning and that will give me two days to fall back into routine.  I know this probably sounds like it is a little bit over the top but my mind is so set to get this done - now that I have started - that I do not want to give myself any chances of falling off the wagon.  Sometimes it is harder to get back on the wagon.  I also do not want to go back to the feelings I had before I started.

I wish you all a good day. I will do a little bit of blogging during the day and then I will blog you guys upon my return.

Good morning all

Another great day.  Water 9 glasses.  Food on track.  I was really protein hungry yesterday - great that the Scarsdale diet has no specific amounts it is always plenty of anything (they want you to feel full)  as long as you eat it in one sitting and only the items specified for that meal.  It was plenty of protein yesterday.  Some days are like that.  I have no explanation for why I was protein hungry.

Finally stopped snowing here also.  Really getting tired of this white stuff.  I have started looking for rental in Florida for next Winter (vrbo.com and homeaway.com) that is how fed up I am with this Winter.  Thought I would take a year off since my knee was soar but not worth it - I should have gone.  No more Winters in Canada for me - dont have to be here so why do I stay when I could be in a warmer part of the world.  I might as well contribute to the American economy it might just do a little bit of help.  Share the wealth.

I found out last night that my nephew and his wife are having a baby their first - a boy.  Really great news.  My brother in law is in the hospital battling cancer and we certainly hope he makes it to May so that he can see his first grandbaby born.  That is also his wish.  Time will tell.  Really sad.  It certainly makes me grateful for what I have and certainly lessens the little booboos I have.

I am so tempted to weigh myself I dont know if it is the challenge that is feeding this temptation or what but I have resisted up to now.

Tomorrow is my night out.  I will be away for a few days after that but will definitely be packing my food to bring along with me - will not fall off the wagon.  No use damaging my progress.

Well I think this is about all I have for today.  All is good.  Nothing to complain about.

I'm glad you are feeling so good! I can't imagine that much snow. It snows here about once every 10 or 20 years and it's only for a couple hours so it's kind of a novelty. I lived in Chicago for 7 months back in 2005-6 and I don't think I could have a permanent residence there! I found the cold PAINFUL! It hurt my hands and my knees really bad. I always thought hats and gloves were just a fashion thing - up there I found out they were a necessity!! Have fun tomorrow night!

im always so impressed with how well u do with ur food and water :) hooray for another good day!!!... big congrats to ur nephew & his wife.. will keep ur BIL in my thoughts.... i totally agree with what u said about handwritten letters, they are much more meaningful, i have alot of trouble with my hands, i have little to no feeling in my fingertips, was recently told by a doctor that its due to severe nerve damage in my back :-/ so holding a pen is very difficult for me most of the time.. i feel almost ashamed because i was always known in my family to have such 'pretty' handwritting and i know it doesnt look the same these days :( but i know she will be happy to hear from me so its well worth it, but i sure hope she gets her phone back on soon lol.. have a great day!

Good morning all

Having a good day.  Yesterday was real good - water 11 glasses and food on track.  This Monday I started again the scarsdale diet plan (just in case you guys dont remember this diet is two weeks on two weeks off with just maintenance).  Even after only one day I really feel good.  I don't know if you guys are the same as me but I can actually feel when I have lost some weight from the day before.  My weigh-in is far away plus I do have my dinner out this Thursday so it is good that today I am feeling this way.  I do intend to behave on my night out.  No way am I going to blow it.  My wellbeing is worth much more than a night out. 

I enjoy checking in and seeing all the wonderful progress you all are doing or the up and downs.  It reassures me that I am not along struggling through this process.  I am not the odd ball person with a major defect of not being able to control my eating. 

The food is going well don't really know if it is my mindset or if it is just the fact that my body is cleaning itself out of all the toxic food that I had been feeding it.  Actually at this point I really don't want to question it - if it works why should I even look for a reason.  I could not have done this without all of you.

I still cannot do much exercise except the house stuff and the outings to do errands - so it is not because of the exercise.  I read your write-ups and see all the exercise you guys do and feel lazy but my knee health is worth more than trying to overdo it.  I do wonder though how I am going to tone this body or will I end up with a lot of flab - well more flab. LOL LOL The main thing right now is getting myself onto healtier eating habits.  One thing at a time.

Just wanted to check in after our first day of our challenge!! Glad to see all is going well. And no you're not alone in this struggle... it amazes me time and time again when I speak to women that I see as attractive, skinny and beautiful, and the doubt and pain that they suffer ... all for the same reasons I feel every day. I think I've decided that part of this journey is not only about the losing weight and being healthy... it's about working on being happy with yourself...always, regardless of how you look. That's the most important..and unfortunately in my opinion the hardest.

RYC - I really am so upset with this knee issue; never thought i'd have to worry about these things so early in life. Well, I guess i'm in my mid-thirties so time to wake up maybe :) I *hope* golfing will be okay; I didn't seem to have a problem with my swing - but of course, my knee didn't hurt through golfing, but afterwards it did. Only sometimes does it hurt when I have to twist. I don't know. It's driving me batty!

RYC sorry about your knee. What about upper body exercises? Dumbbells, etc?

LOL. Doesn't matter where the weight is. It would be better than nothing since building muscle anywhere makes you burn calories more efficiently. Isn't cardio, but it's something.
