Yayyy! In the 150's now and feeling better. Still doing pretty strict low-fat and low-sugar. I'm afraid to do anything else so far in case I would upset my pancreas. Don't want that to happen. Saw my doc on Monday and had labs done on Tuesday. They called me Wednesday and said all was back to normal. Yayyy, again. Even took a 20 minute walk this morning and plan on doing 20 more later. I've been up since 4:00 this morning so my sleep is still off but, hey, I got to watch the beautiful sunrise over the mountains through my bedroom patio door. I did that the last morning I was in the hospital too, I had a perfect view from my third floor window. A tad cooler today, only going up to 78 but not a cloud in the sky. Okay, I hope you all are feeling as well as I am. (Oh, and, Maria, my Mom is doing great now and doesn't need any assistance at all, although I try to do some things for her. Thanks for asking) Take care and have an awesome day!

Glad to hear everything is going well by you! Congrats on reaching the 150's. I am also stoked to lose some weight over this lovely spring. So far, I am doing a good job even though it's at a snail's pace, hehe....I like it better that way, actually.

Sunrises are beautiful, aren't they!?

lately there are a lot of diets out there using higher fat....are u sure it's healthy to do very low fat? Maybe have 1/4 avocado with meals? Some fat is good....I was horrible and when I was in college, as a senior, I went very strict low fat. My hair was so damaged and dried out looking. I will never forget that.

Hi, everyone! Just got home from the hospital yesterday, went in Tuesday for pancreatitus. Never had that before. Lots of pain for awhile and then....wonderful morphine! But I kinda hate getting that because I always get light halucinations with it, no fun, but not terribly bad. Anyway, I couldn't eat or drink anything for 3 days, that's how they treat it, let everything in there rest. I did have an IV of saline though so the hunger didn't get so bad (well, since I was sick, I didn't feel like eating anyway) and I was kept hydrated with that. I was hoping the weightloss would be more, considering, but I've experienced that before, that IV  keeps you from losing much. Now I am on strict low-fat and low-sugar diet and I know I will follow it because I know the consequences. And it's only for awhile until my pancreas is back to normal. I know that's the kind of diet I should follow for life but later I can at least cheat with more fatty food occasionally. You know, like normal people, haha! I'm feeling pretty good now, just tired. I even went to the store for some things I can eat, there wasn't much in the house. My husband isn't a good shopper with the things he's not used to buying but he's great at keeping us stocked with fruit and cereal, haha. So with all this, I should continue to keep losing weight as I did after my heart surgery. I will start exercising soon and that will help too. 150's here I come! Okay, I'm tired now, sheesh. Well, how's everyone doing? I'm still here! Not doing too well, weight-wise, but could be worse. Sorry I haven't been here for so long. No excuse, just laziness. I really need to get back in the weightloss groove again. I said I'd never get back over 160 but here I am. I was up to 164 a week ago so I'm not a total loss. I know I will feel better when I get below 160 again. And summer is almost here already, 94 degrees here today!! I'm not ready for this! Okay, I promise not to go so long without getting in here again. We'll see how that goes. You all take care and have a great day!

I know I haven't been in for awhile but here I am. How y'all doin'? As you can see, I'm still sort of "maintaining". I think about how I was down another 10 pounds from this weight last year at Christmas, so I'm shooting for that now. 140's, here I come. Maintaining is good but not at what I weigh now. I felt sooooo good in the 140's! I'm starting to grow out of my new clothes and that's not good. Don't want to be back in the bigger size. So, keeping that in mind, I'm starting to do better. I was actually over 160 two days ago. Yeeks!! Okay, onward and downward. Take care, see ya soon.

Soooo long since I was here. I am not a good DDer anymore. I'm still doing okay, not going back over 160 and down a few from last time I was here. Trying to eat better, not just for the weightloss. Still exercising 4 or 5 times a week. Very tired a lot of the time, hope it's not my arteries again. Don't need that again. Take care, all. Hope you're all doing great!

I'm back after a long break. There's a lot of that going around! I have periods of being extremely tired also. Sometimes I just have to take a nap & then I'm fine.

I didn't know if you got a chance to look at the Esselstyn book on reversing heart disease, but I found a short video of the one woman (Evelyn Oswick) who was in his original study.

She was told to go and buy a rocking chair because her dr couldn't do anything else for her.

Ewww, I hate getting back to this close to the 160's again! I just can't seem to get that spark back and work harder at getting off that 10 pounds I put back on. If I could get back into the 140's as I was before Christmas, I just know I could maintain it now. I'm sort of maintaining now but at the wrong weight. So I know how to do it. I still do my morning 40 minute walk but not as consistent as I should be. I am doing more of the arm exercises and doing great at the squats which were always hard for me, with the knees cracking and such, so I am proud of that. And I do more exercise out in the pool now that summer is here. Should be doing more of that too. Life just seems to keep getting in my way sometimes so I just do the best I can and haven't given up completely. Hang in there, everyone, and Happy 4th of July! (if you are in the U.S.)

Hello, Soonie...so GOOD to see you here. I believe you can get that SPARK back again. You already know what you have to do...just don't keep going up, like I did. I kept thinking I 'had it under control' and before I knew it, I was up almost 9 pounds in 3 weeks now. It is EASY to do...put on weight and NOT EASY to UNDO. So, I know you really want to get back into the 140's, just like I do...so I'm here and plan on being here (accountable) while I'm in the process of getting back to where I need to be, too. Hang in there, Girl...you can do it...you've done it before! :-D

Just checking in again. How are you all doing? I just keep bouncing around this weight, I think my body likes it but I don't. I still feel too fat and I keep telling myself that a year ago I would have been happy to get below 160. Sometimes I think my scale is wrong because I still feel heavier than it says. This belly of mine---sheesh! Still keeping up with the walking but no weights or squats that I was doing so well with, and only 4 times a week on lthe walking too. I want to do better than this and hot weather will be here soon. I keep telling myself tomorrow will be better but it never is. Okay, enough whining here. Take care, everyone!

Helleewww!  Well, haven't been on here for awhile but here I am. Still working on it, not giving up but, not doing well either.  I just can't seem to get my groove back from before Christmas.  I said I wouldn't get above 155 again but here I am.  Must have been the pizza yesterday (Papa Murphy's, the one you pick up and bake yourself, never again!!)  Just one slice but they are huge and thick, lots of crust.  I did get in a walk yesterday and today and the weather here is great.  I just need to do better with my eating.  Feeling good, just tired and old, but grateful for my health.  Okay, you all have a great day!

Me, again.  Well, I'm not doing really well but at least I'm maintaining.  Was up to 154.6 the other day and said "that's it, no more going up"!  So I'm just trying not to go above 155 right now.  I would like to be maintaining below 150 but just not getting there right now.  I know I could if I would just work harder but.....  I have been keeping up with the exercise somewhat, I skipped 6 days last week but that won't happen again.  I just finished 4 days in a row of my 40 minute walk outside and various free weights, crunches and squats.  I'm doing really well with the squats now, that was one of my big weaknesses, my knees.  So woriking on that.  Bending the knees instead of the back is better for me, I learned at therapy.  My therapist used to laugh at my creeking knees.  Also doing some of my therapy exericises for core strengthening and balance.  I'm feeling good and thankful every day that my back isn't doing so bad and I'm pretty almost pain free.  Our weather here is great, maybe 82 today so I'm grateful for that too.  Nice for walking outside.  Okay, hope you're all having a good day.  Stay healthy and enjoy life when you can.
