I tried to bring up last Sunday's entry but somehow it must have been deleted. I wanted to see how much weight I lost since then. Oh, well. Guess I should have written it down somewhere. So I am down again today. Not that much but down. I think I lost around 4 pounds this week, give or take a little. Not too bad. Now I must keep on going. And I will. I had a little too many calories yesterday but I worked hard all day. Went to the grocery first thing in the morning, did 30 minutes of walking on the treadmill before lunch (rain moved in fast so I couldn't go outside to walk), cleaned my bedroom and bathroom, sorted some clothes to give away, walked another 20 minutes on the treadmill, and did some weights and crunches in the evening. I only work about 15 minutes on the weights and crunches but it's a start. My back is hurting this morning from the vaccuuming, I guess. Well, someone has to do it! Don't know if I will walk today. I'll try. It was sunny awhile ago but now it's clouding up again. Have I mentioned.... I HATE THE TREADMILL!! Have a great day!

Weight the same, blech! 1345 calories for yesterday and 2 mile walk. I had a LILT (low-intensity lazer therapy) treatment on my back in the morning and a pedicure in the afternoon. Did my walk outside at 5:30, temp at 65 degrees. Today is partly cloudy, high about 62 and windy. Could get some rain later. So I will bundle up (haha) and get my walk sometime between brekky and lunch. I've already gone to the grocery for a few things and got gas in my car ($2.31 a gallon) and it's only 9:24. Off to a good start. Since I didn't lose any weight from yesterday I will try to keep the calories lower today. Here's to success!!

Just inching my way (weigh?) down. Every little bit counts. I had about 1200 calories yesterday and, since I didn't get home until almost 6pm, I ate a little dinner and, while watching Grey's Anatomy (it's on here at 8pm), I walked on my treadmill for 30 minutes and did my weights and crunches. I was going to allow a day off since I was busy all day but I'm really into this right now and felt like doing some kind of exercise anyway. And it felt great! (Although, I hate the treadmill!) So I'm glad to see a little results on the scale. I almost stopped for fast food on my way home, that thought was there and I was feeling kind of down and really wanted to just veg out and pig out, as I used to, but I fought it off and just came home for a tuna sandwich and baked cheetos. I know, not the best but much better than McD's or something. I did have a small burger for lunch from Burger King since I was out and eating on the run (too hard to eat a salad while driving, heh) but I had brought a banana from home so I did eat something sort of healthy, no fries, no dessert. Some improvement from the old me. And my calories were still low for the day. (Burger King burger=290 calories, BTW) I still need to cut way back on the sugar and salty things but I'm working on it. Baby steps. So far, so good today. Hubby just left with his buddy for lunch out, my usual trigger to head to McD's for some junk, but here I am. I will have some soup, an apple and a granola bar for lunch. Yay, me! I just hope this lasts. I've been here so many times before. I'll be coming up on my tenth anniversary with the DD this April!! Amazing, isn't it? And here I am, still fighting the fight. I hope that doesn't depress any of you.       Okay, a note about the new shoes......they are Sketcher's Shape Ups. They look kind of strange, the sole is built up unusually but so comfortable, I think. I will use them again today when I get my walk in later outside. Wonderful weather here, 72 degrees today and sunny. But we may get some rain over the weekend. I hope not. You all hang in there and have a nice day!

sorry caps lock. anyway as i was saying i slowly but surely weaned myself off stuff to prepare for a detox. the point is your eating healthier than the old you and in 6 months time aim to be eating even better again. step by step is the way to go x

Weight the same today. That's how it goes, down a few days and then I hit a wall. I had about 1200 calories and did the 2 mile walk up and down my street. I was wearing the new Shape Up shoes. They were really comfortable and cushion-y and really worked my legs. They say they exercise your legs as if you were walking in sand. I don't think they were that bad but it did seem more difficult when I first started. I'll let you know how it goes. Have a great day and I'll see you soon. P.S. The shoes were $100 but I got $15 off when I used my Kohl's card.

I'm back into a new decade, so to speak. 170's land. I plan on not getting back into those 180's again! I did my 2 mile walk again yesterday, left here at 5:30pm but hadn't had anything to eat since 1:30. So, low blood sugar hit me when I was about 1/4 mile from my house. When I got home, I ate an apple..... then a banana..... then a pb&j sandwich, some baked Lay's, and on and on, shaking the whole time. That's what happens to me when I get low blood sugar. I won't let that happen again! At least I weighed and measured and came out with 1430 calories for the day. A tad more than usual but still under control. I sort of expected to not lose any but I'm happy I did. Every little bit helps. I decided I need to weigh every day to keep me in line so that's what I will do. Oh, I also did some weights and crunches so I'm kinda sore today. But I won't let that stop me. I may get out to Kohl's this afternoon and check out those new Sketchers shoes to walk in. My husband has some similar to those that he wears to work since he is on his feet the whole time and he says they are great so I plan on trying some. I'll keep you posted on that. Sooooo, it's been almost a month since I've been here and miracle of miracles, I weighed exactly the same this morning as I did the last time I was here! At least that's saying something. I've worked hard the last 3 days, eating right and walking 2 miles all 3 days so I'm now on another roll. I am so sick of being this weight!! I want to get back into all my smaller clothes. And those aren't all that small, haha! I just can't believe I can't wear last year's jeans and the bigger ones I have bought are too tight! I just want to be comfortable in my clothes! I am determined to do it this time. The weather here is great and I can go walking outside everyday. Highs in the low 70's and sunny all this week. So I have no excuse. I hope you're all doing great. I'm still here just not doing really well. I go through these bouts of depression and just want to give it all up. I feel better today and even feel a little thinner, or less fat maybe, heh. I think that's just an illusion though. I haven't been on the scale since Monday but I imagine the weight is up again. I'll check it on Monday morning before we leave for the airport. I should lose some (weight and money, haha) while we're there since we will do lots of walking (weather and our feet permitting) and I won't be eating junk food with the hubby watching over me, haha. So that's all good. I plan on having a nice relaxing time. We have tickets to see Cirque du Soleil "The Beatles Love", should be good and fun, and Terry Fator, the ventriloquist who won America's Got Talent a couple of years ago. I'm really looking forward to it. Anyway.....I shall be very busy the next couple of days getting things ready for the trip. I'll be playing pinochle this afternoon though. We're expecting that rain to arrive from California sometime today so I hope I make it home okay later. You all take care. See you soon.

So, weigh day. See what I mean about waiting until you're so old it's really hard to get the weight off? DO IT NOW!! Okay, let me explain. It was Thursday. I didn't mention it before but I had McD's for brekky that day,*sigh*. Sausage biscuit, hash browns and cinnamon melt. Then the lunch at friend's house, not many choices there, although there were some veggies. No real dinner that day, just snacks, which I tried hard not to indulge in much. But when I got home at 10pm, I was so hungry I knew I wouldn't be able to get to sleep so I had a slice of lite bread with about a teaspoon of peanut butter on it. And, of course, there was no exercise at all that day. We played cards all afternoon and evening, just sitting. So on Friday, I weighed 181. I didn't mention that here either. So here's the lesson......Soonie just can't get away with that kind of thing any more. Her metabolism is so low that even with eating right and exercising, she will still only lose the weight slowly. Waaaaah! Okay, must remember that when the McD's craving hits. I just can't do it!! So, only----what?---about 3 pounds down in 3 weeks?? That's depressing. You would think after all these years I would have learned my lesson. But, no, it's like banging my head against a wall over and over. Don't worry, I'm not so down that I can't get up again. I'm just taking it in stride and will try to do better. Even though it's cloudy and rainy today, I'm not going to let it get me down. Oh, I forgot to mention, I had another really great day yesterday. Less than 1200 calories (I need to eat better quality of calories though) but no exercise except walking around WalMart and the grocery store and, all afternoon I cooked 2 big meals so I could freeze some. That took me 3 hours of constantly being on my feet. And then I decided to clean the frig some, throwing out all the old stuff. I picked up a jar of pickles and then dropped it on the floor. SMASH! We have ceramic tile so a glass jar will break into a million pieces and spread for miles! I stayed calm, picked up what glass I could get to without stepping in the pickle juice that was all over. Anyway it took me about half an hour of bending over doing that cleanup. So by then, my back was killiing me. So I'm calling all that my exercise for the day, heh. Lot's of moving anyway. At least I didn't head for the junk food because I needed the comfort. (don't think it didn't cross my mind though) Old habits. Anyway, that's it. I kind of thought the weight would be down more but those good old days are over, I guess. I will just accept the fact that it's going to be really slow this time. You all have a great day and I'll be back tomorrow.

3lbs. in 3 wks. sounds good to me! I'd take it in place of the half pound a week that I'm losing. I'm not complaining because even small losses add up in the long run, right?

Hee, I'm at that "so old" age myself. And it is not easy. The joints don't like exercise too much so I have to be easy on them. Hey as long as it comes off, it doesn't matter how fast, at least it is coming off. And sounds like you made your own exercise. Although deliberately breaking a pickle jar is a little extreme. (just kidding).

I agree 100% on not waiting til we get older...I have such a hard time losing weight and such an easy time gaining it as I've gotten older...I have to work triple hard to lose..It's frustrating isnt it???

Don't give up tho...consitency and persistence DOES pay off..just slower.

I think three pounds in three weeks is awesome. If you keep that rate up, imagine where you'll be once summer hits! Be proud of any loss, because it's always going to be better than a gain. Take care today!

Yesterday I had an excellent day, for a change. I think I stayed below 1200 calories and I went out and walked for 2 miles. Not much else to say. Well, just one thing....DO IT NOW!! It gets so much more difficult to get the weight off the older you get! Have a good day!

Boring, boring! Same old thing. Nothing new. I was eating really well yesterday until evening, then I ate candy and a small bottle of chocolate milk. I usually do well in the evenings, I just don't know what is going on lately. No exercise either. So I must do well today and tomorrow or the scale won't be pretty on Monday morning. We're expecting rain pretty much all week next week so there probably won't be many walks outside, *sigh* but I always have my trusty treadmill, which I kinda hate. Recumbant bike and rebounder also, there's always something to do exercise on. Today there will be a walk outside while I still am able. My back feels better today. Going to go do some stretching now. Back tomorrow! Have a good one!
