Walked 2 miles this morning. It was so hot and humid even though we got out there before 6:30!! DH walked with me this morning, I'm surprised. It did make it a little easier though. No big win at the casino yesterday but I had fun. Eating is still not real good but I'm trying to drink more water. Have a great day!

Woohoo, 3 miles this morning, up and down my street. I got up at 6 this time and there was a nice cloud cover in the east so the sun was not shining. So humid though and, if I stopped to drink some water and wipe the sweat, the mosquitoes tried to carry me off. So now I've had my shower and brekky and it's only 9:30am. What shall I do with the rest of my day?! I just finished watching Nim's Island, cute movie. We watched August Rush yesterday finally. Good movie too. I have lots of good reading to do and more movies to watch and I predict a nap in there somewhere too. But now I'm going to go clean up the kitchen. Have a good one!

Okay, I braved the heat and humidity this morning and walked up and down my street which equaled 2 miles. I feel so much better about that. I was going to just do the treadmill (hate the treadmill!!) but when I saw some other people walking down the street I thought I'd rather do that. There was a thin cloud cover which helped some but you could peel the humidity off your skin out there, it was so bad. We had some rain over night so everything was wet and humid. Anyway, it was a good walk except for the squished bunny down the street. I had to turn my head every time I walked past it, yuck. So I'm off to a good start anyway. In case you missed it, I did an entry last night too. So I think I'm back in the groove now, let's hope. You all have a great weekend. See you soon.

So sorry I haven't been here for awhile. You can be sure that I haven't been doing well though. Was 169.8 this morning, could be worse. Haven't been doing the plan at all the past couple of weeks. Well, maybe some days have been better than others. The weather here is hot and humid and we're in our yearly monsoon time. I absolutely hate it, I feel so punk. I did walk on the treadmill Sunday and Monday morning for half an hour each. Hope to get on there again tomorrow. Can't wait for the "dry heat" to be back again--September. The humidity just weighs me down. On the bright side, my big toe finally healed up and hasn't given me any more trouble. It wasn't an ingrown toenail, I had just picked at some dead skin along the side (I know, yuck!) and made it raw in a small spot so it was sore for awhile. Scared me though, since I'm diabetic. Needless to say, I won't be doing that again. So no excuses to not walk now. Although I'd rather be doing it outside again. Oh, well. We do what we can do, right? Hope you're all doing great. Thanks for the comments. See you soon. I promise.

Oops, going back up again. Not a good week. I had a sore on my big toe and didn't want to irritate it and get it infected, so I haven't done any walking all week. It seems to be getting better so I may get back to it tomorrow. Today I am too busy, we are playing cards this afternoon at our house with another couple from bowling and I will be making dinner and dessert. This is a major job for me, I am not a cook. Also some house cleaning. So that's it. Not much news here. I hope you're all doing great.

Slowly whittling away at the weight. Not down much but okay with me. I was down more Saturday morning--167.8--but ate too much Sunday. I took Mom to the casino and she wanted to eat at the steak restaurant. They didn't have the kind of steak she wanted--fillet mignon--so she ordered a burger. I said let's split one because they are always more than one of us can eat but she said she wanted a big burger all her own. I could have ordered the chicken salad but it came with some weird salad dressing so, stupid me, I ordered a burger too. Then I could have had it with fruit instead of the fries but I ordered the fries. EEEK! And we found out later from the waitress that the burger was 10 whole ounces!! Of course we couldn't eat it all. Then on the way home, we stopped at Sonic for a shake to top it off. So anyway that's what I attribute the low weight loss to. And no exercise that day. I did get up at 5:30 yesterday to do my 3 mile walk (first I turned off the radio and got back into bed, a minute later I thought "I just have to get up and do this" so I did) and we played cards with friends in the afternoon at their house but I did well eating dinner and dessert (just a small sliver of pie, it was so good) and tried to keep the snacks to a minimum. She had lots of snacks out earlier (chocolate pretzels, yum!) and I think I did okay there. So I'm happy with what I lost, I guess. Wish it was more, of course.

So today there will be no exercise again. I slept in a little, 7am, and I have Red Hat Ladies later. We're having a luau lunch at the Kon Tiki restaurant. I hope my muumuu still fits, haven't tried it on yet! I will be picking Mom up at 10:45 this morning. Maybe later I will get on my treadmill but probably not. Tomorrow I will get up early and walk outside again for sure. Okay, you all have a great day. Hang in there!

Oh my goodness....My g'ma used to live in muumuu's...She had some beautiful ones... It was just what made her "g'ma".... She was 400# and couldn't reaaly wear anything else, but I think if she would of been a smaller person, she still would of.... Lived in Yuma for winter months and loved the desert....

Have a super good time with yer mom and put the tenny runners on when ya can...

even though you may have indulged lately, you're keeping up the exercise. so, just amp up your eating to be a little healther and you'll be set. if you gave in with exercising too, then you wouldn't be so happy. :)

Re: 6 mile walks ~ Yes, the mileage is all at once..1 & 1/2 hours most of the time.... If I walk 8, it is beacuse I took 4 in the a.m. and 4 in the p.m....Haven't done that for a while, but shall here pretty soon..When I added up 'mileage, I came way below the previous months and there were even more days in May... Want to at least go 100 miles per month...Energy is sometimes zapped when I walk in the door. Usually drink about 24-32 oz. of water in that 1.5 hours and have to go potty A.S.A.P........Once I sit for a few minutes,eating a small snack, I recoup and have energy... Have to!

Happy Saturday, everyone! Soooo, I got up at 5:30am and was out the door before 6 for my 3 mile walk up and down my street. It was about 70 degrees already, going near 100 today. I did 2--17 minute miles and the last one was in 19 minutes. So 53 minutes altogether, I cut 2 minutes off my Wednesday time. I saw a buzzing bird this morning---I must explain---I heard a buzzing overhead while walking and looked up to see a dove flying over with a cicada in his beak! Buzzing bird, hee, made me chuckle. I love the walking outside. Didn't see any wascally wabbits though, just quail. No snakes, thank goodness. I also took a peek at the scale this morning and was very pleased. I think I'm on my way! Didn't post it here though, you have to wait until Tuesday. At least I feel less bloated in the stomach area and feel more like what I actually weigh and not 30 pounds more, if you know what I mean. So things are going well around here. Thursday was a busy day. I bowled in the morning, played pinochle in the afternoon after grabbing a grilled chicken sandwich for lunch from McD's, and ate pretty well all day. Friday was busy too but managed to fit in 40 minutes of walking on my treadmill in the late afternoon. So I'm gradually working myself into this "better living" thing. Making better choices most of the time. Also yesterday, I went to bingo for the first time in about 20 years at a church nearby. I had fun and won $75. That always makes it more fun, heh. I wanted to check it out first before taking Mom with me. It's just a small bingo with about 100 people and it's nice. So I may make that a habit. I used to play a lot back in the day. This one starts at 1:15 in the afternoon, I like that too. Anyways......

Today I will be alone----again, heh. DH is going to a tractor pull thing about an hour and a half drive from here with his neighbor buddies. So that should be an almost all day thing. I plan on maybe cleaning out my closet, something I've been planning for a long time but never seem to get to. My bathroom needs cleaning too. Probably watch some movies too. Play games on the puter, read a good book. Maybe the pool. Sounds like a good day. Oh, and I'll keep the food to a minimum, all good and healthy. Okay, y'all have a great day!

Okay, okay, I did exactly what I said I wouldn't do yesterday....after the dentist's, I stopped at Circle K for some donuts and then McD's for a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit and hash brown. Bad, bad Soonie! I just keep letting that "other me" take over. Anyway, my teeth are doing just fine and now they are all nice and clean, so that's good. I really didn't do too badly the rest of the day, however. And late afternoon, I got on the treadmill and walked for half an hour. Also did a little swimming in the pool in the afternoon. Well, I snorkel anyway. I can't swim using my arms because of my bad shoulder, so I snorkel and just kick my legs, not using my arms much. Good practice for Maui, if I ever get back there. We have reservations for November but our usual airline has gone bankrupt and the fairs are so expensive now, and with gas prices and everything else, I don't think we can afford to go this year. So I will probably cancel the reservations soon. I keep holding out in case somehow I come into a lot of money, heh. Anyway....Today, ah, today, I have a hair appointment this afternoon for color and that's about it. Tomorrow is bowling, I loves me bowling, ya know. Then in the afternoon, I will be playing pinochle with the ladies. I love playing any kind of cards so I'm looking forward to it. So I may not get here tomorrow at all. But I will be doing well, you can bet on it. I now have a taste of that good feeling that we get when we're doing the program. Oops, forgot what I did this morning...I got up at 5:30am!!! and walked for 3 miles up and down my street!! I did the first mile in 17 minutes, the second in 18 minutes and the third in 20 minutes for a total of 55 minutes. That's pretty good for me. I'm happy. And no McD's this morning. I'm going to have a great day! But excuse me now, I need some brekky and then maybe a nap, haha! You all have a great day!

Well, you deserved 'something' for sitting in the dentist's chair! Sure sounded delicious!!!

And you are really doing FANTASTIC on your walking! What an inspiration you are! I've GOT to get myself to get some walking done today for sure!!!

Maybe you'll get to go back to Maui...(put the Mcd's money in a cookie jar so y'all can go?)...just an idea...

yay for 3 mi down the street!!! i'm sorry for your recent food splurges. i HATE that feeling too when the "other me" takes over!!! :(

i guess a suggestion for remedying this would be to PLAN the rest of the day after the dentist next time - and also HAVE a fiberfilled breakfast before going there so that your NOT ravenous after. this works for me. or, have a snack in the car, ready, for after you do things that are out of the ordinary that might leave you wanting something to eat. many times i feel like its just a matter of making healthier choices. we'll always be faced with food temptations. i know i am not the type who will ever really forget to eat. so i just try to plan things healthier so i can still go about enjoying eating. hmmm. i wish i could just forget to eat like a few people i know. but planning activities outside eating will also help with that - like your bowling!

no, a lot of people would mistake cc for cream cheese! It is cottage cheese. usually i will buy the sugared, flavored kind bc it is still lower in sugar than a large yogurt and has more protein and they add in fiber. I buy the 4 ounce pineapple ones. I mix it with plain yogurt.
