Back still hurting, even worse again this morning. Not ready for walking on the treadmill yet. Not eating right either. I'm droooowwwwning! The weight is slowly coming back on. I've lost my momentum now. Just don't care again. Maybe in a few days things will get better. Have a good one!

Good morning! My back feels a tad better this morning, I'm so glad. Still I will be taking some time off from exercise. I really want to do the walking on the treadmill but I'm afraid the pain will get worse again. Well, at least I don't have to go to the doctor's. I splurged on the food yesterday (big surprise!) and the scale has gone up 2 pounds, heh! So hard to lose, so easy to gain. No fair. I'll try to do better today. I guess I'm an "all or nothing" gal, if I can't do the exercise, I won't do the diet. Must try to change that. Have I said "I HATE this fat"? And how's your day going? Have a good one!

So you hurt your back, and you only gained 2lbs?? I usually gain 10lb right away when I hurt my back (herniated disc). This is because I medicate with mint chocolate. Ice cream, cookies, candies -- anything that is mint chocolate. It's as though I believe mint chocolate has medicinal properties, so I keep trying to prove that over and over, to no avail.

I totally empathize with your back problems. Even though you say you are taking time off from exercise (which I agree with), the last time my disc acted up, I found that a walk helped. Not a power walk, but not a "shopping" walk either. Just nice and easy, but with intent. And not for much longer than 20 minutes either, because then it would become counterproductive and it would start hurting my back to walk. Anyway, that's what did it for me, because it was important to keep the muscles limber (so that they didn't cramp up and cause more pain).

Helleewwww! Well, new weight, although I forgot to weigh before my shower and afterward my hair was wet, so I'm not sure if the weight would have been a little less or not. I told myself not to stress over it, it's still pretty good. I had another good day yesterday but not enough exercise, only 3 games of bowling because I hurt my back bowling!! It doesn't feel like a muscle pull, something more serious, if you ask me. I was going to call the doc this morning but I think I'll give it a few days. I HATE going to the doc! I just don't trust them anymore. So I will be taking the day off and making friends with the heat pad. After all, it only hurts when I move, haha. Well, really it hurts all the time but the heat helps while I use it. I slept well except for the rolling-over part. I'm trying not to let this get me down. After all, I was on such a good roll the last 3 days. I really wanted to get some walking in yesterday and some time in the pool, the sun was shining. But now I guess I will have to put all that on hold. I'm so afraid of gaining back the little that I've lost so far. And of course, I'm trying not to think of back surgery and that kind of thing, although, in the middle of the night, I was thinking how it would be to be paralyzed from the waist down, or worse yet, the neck down. What weird thoughts I have in the middle of the night! Let's hope it's not that serious! I know, you're all going to tell me to go see the doc and I guess I will in a couple of days if it isn't better. Thanks anyway. I'm a stubborn old woman!

Okay, I'm starved, time for brekky. I wish you all a great Monday where ever you are!

WOOO HOOO! Great weight loss for you! YAY! WTG! It might be possible that you just have a strained lumbar or something. I know when I injured myself I thought I had torn a rotator cuff or something horrible....turns out that rest and time was all I needed and it wasn't anything really serious at all. I told my mother the other day that I wasn't this unhealthy when I was unhealthy LOL Take care!

Okay, 2 great days down now! I'm on a roll! I did 3 miles of walking yesterday with about 45 minutes in the pool, treading water for 14 minutes and snorkeling (dork!) I can't really swim because of the shoulder pain but I put my snorkel gear on and with my head in the water, I can paddle around with no pain. I did really well with the food, 1100 calories total. And I am eating fruits and veggies, well, not so many veggies but I'm trying. The water is no problem, I get plenty enough of that. And no eating past 7pm. Guess that's about it. Let's see how today goes. Weigh-in tomorrow. The scale was down a little more this morning so I know this is working. And how's your day?

Wow, good job on your calories! 1100!!! Do you not eat any meat or oils?! Normally I can eat that many calories (because veggies are very low calorie) but when I add a touch of olive oil, or eat some fatty fish (salmon...etc) the calories SHOOT up! haha! No eating past 7 is such a nice rule, because then you can sleep without feeling rediculously full! This past summer, I have always had to eat around 7 or 7:30 and I eat a ton so I was always bloated while going to sleep, but now...that Im back at school and able to set my own times: I think I will be sleeping a lot better!!!

Finally, my first really good day!! I'm pumped! I ate under my 1400 calorie limit, drank loads of water, walked 3 miles and treaded water in the pool for 10 minutes and no eating past 7pm.! Now to continue! Well, so far today, I haven't done anything, heh. It's time for brekky and then I need to get to the store for some cards, birthday and get well. #2 son's birthday is Thursday. And I have some friends who are sick. So that will come after brekky. Then I will do lots of walking again. I did it yesterday in just 3 times at 1 mile each. I guess it works, the scale was down again this morning. So that's it for me. Hope you're having a great day!

Doing well this morning! Got up at 6am and have already done 2 miles on the treadmill (1 mile at a time) and it's only 8am. I plan on doing more walking later and maybe pool today, didn't make it yesterday. I don't have to go anywhere or do anything today so I'm devoting it to exercise. House is clean, laundry is done. Yesterday I did pretty well with the food, although not perfect, and I did see a slight drop on the scale this morning but I won't report a new weight until Monday morning. Okay, brekky is ready. Weight Control oatmeal and green tea. Have a good one!

Have I been so bad that no one wants to comment?! Haha! Just kidding. Well, another bad day under my belt again. I won't even go into details. Let's just say I had the best of intentions but just didn't follow through, as usual. If I could just get one good day maybe I could start to do better. So today's the day! I have bowling this morning, then later, I plan some pool work. Going to crank up the music and workout in the pool, if the weather cooperates. And lunch out will be very light. My weight was up some this morning and I just can't stand it! Too much salty Mexican food yesterday. Okay, let's see what happens. Hope you have a good day!

Hi Soonie, great to see you back in action, but take care you dont overdo the treadmill if you are having pain in your groin. Wouldnt do to pull something!!! Working out in the pool sounds fun tho' :o)

Good Wednesday morning to you all! I just finished 30 minutes of walking on my treadmill. I know, not much but I'm starting out slowly. My left hip and groin area were killing me but I did it anyway. I hope in time, that pain will go away. If not, time to see the doc. I have lunch out with other Sis today, she invited me to On the Border. She has a $25 gift card so I get free lunch on her. Couldn't pass that up even though I really don't need Mexican food right now. I think I'll ask for a small box when they bring the meal and split it in half to take home for dinner. I'm definitely not getting a salad, I'm not into salads (except Mimi's) and I know I would feel deprived and pig out when I get home, heh. Been there, done that (a million times!) So I will deal with it the best I can. And try to enjoy myself. I think this is the first time she has ever invited me out to lunch!

Okay, we had the fish fry yesterday for dinner (yes, I said "fry"), brother, Sis and other Sis, Mom and #3 son. DH fried the fish, I did the onion rings and garlic bread sticks, we also had store-bought cole slaw and pineapple-angel food cake for dessert. I wasn't going to eat much but failed with that. Okay, I didn't pig out but still ate more than I should have. Oh, and I had McDonald's for lunch!! 2 burgers, medium fries!! and a small strawberry shake! When DH left to go out to lunch with his cronies, I headed right for that drive-thru! Bad, bad, Soonie! Guess you could say I'm having a hard time getting started with this "back on the wagon" thing! Okay, I also had a jelly donut in the grocery store parking lot that morning when I went to pick up the supplies for the fish fry. I sat and ate it in my car. Then I came home and had breakfast *shaking of the head here* And for brekky I had a packet of banana oatmeal and 2 slices of toast with SF jelly. This morning I will just have the oatmeal, I promise. Maui, Maui, must keep thinking of that Maui trip coming up so soon! I swear, right now I am so big around my waist, I look like I'm 9 months pregnant!! I hate this!

Okay, *calming down* I will do better today. I did get on the scale this morning and it did say the same thing as Monday so I'm safe there but I really want it to be down a few by next weigh-in. I think I can, I think I can.....See ya tomorrow!

Good morning! It's already after 10am but I'm busy. Gotta get the house in shape again for a fish fry this afternoon for the family. DH must have left the freezer door ajar the other day and all our meat and fish thawed out, heh. So yesterday I made 2 meatloaves and DH grilled all the thawed out chicken breasts and today we fry the fish. I went to the store this morning for the onion rings, cole slaw, garlic bread sticks, and angel food cake mix and can of crushed pineapple for the Weight Watchers pineapple cake that I make and everyone loves. So at least we will have a diet-safe dessert, haha! Anyway, I've been busy. No official exercise yet though. Don't know if I will do any today since I need to vacuum and that's enough exercise for me. We'll see.

Well, where is everyone? I read entries and commented yesterday and it didn't take long at all, hardly anyone checked in. I did read some from the day before though. You all sound good. I hope you all have a great Tuesday.

Monday morning weigh-in! Down a pound. I didn't really do that well yesterday but I did try to drink more water. So a pound of water weight is gone. Today the plan is bowling, then the gym. And I'm going to cut the food amount way down. I can do this! I must keep that Maui trip in my mind at all times, that shouldn't be difficult. I don't want to go there this fat. I'm so uncomfortable and my clothes are fitting tight. So I'm going to lose as much as I can by then (Oct. 15). I figure I can do at least 10 pounds, hopefully 15. I'm going to become an exercising machine! Though I will start out gradually, I haven't exercised in about a month. I'm thinking with the bowling, about 30 minutes of walking should do it for today. Yesterday I did get out in the pool for about an hour (forgot the sunscreen so I'm paying for it today) and I did some treading water there. So better than nothing. And the 4 games of bowling we did was good too. Moving that body! I know that I need to exercise to lose weight, I can't just cut back on the calories. Let's just hope my old body holds out. The knees, the shoulders, the ankle, oh, my! I'm much too young to feel this darned old!

Okay, must get ready to go bowling. I'm going to try to get here and read and comment later. Love my new flat screen monitor! You all get out there and have a great day! See ya!
