Well, here I am. Dragging in from the fiasco of yesterday's debauchery! I was evil again. But that's my Monday, it gets me through the week. So back to the good Soonie today. Don't have any real plans so far, a nice brekky and then maybe back to do some work on my bowling, I don't know. Maybe make that my exercise today. I thought about going to the casino too but think I'd rather bowl, although my right shoulder is hurting some. Maybe I need to work it out. It seems the herbal supplements are not really helping me any and I will discuss that with him tomorrow when I go for a treatment. I feel like my body is in more pain than ever. I've been working out with weights for at least 2 days for 4 weeks now and that pain should be over by now, I think. This is something else. My legs hurt every time I stand up to walk. Once I get going, I'm fine. But why do they hurt? I'm not that #@*& old! What will I be like in 10 years, if I make it that long?! I thought the working out was supposed to be good for that and keep you young. I just get worse! Okay, nuff whining!

I ate and ate yesterday, felt bad with all that sugar, not going to do that much again, I think. Maybe just one treat on Mondays. I'm still learning. I only bowled 3 games since I didn't bowl good enough to make the first cut. So I stopped at the store, bought some junk food and went home for lunch. Bad, bad, bad. Must start showing some control. But it wasn't because of the bad weighin, I had planned this all week, it gets me through the week. Now I will get back into it strongly and maybe have some loss this week. But I think I'm not going to push myself as much, no 3 mile walks, just to see what happens. But I will keep the eating part as good as possible. Also with my appointment with the acupuncturist tomorrow, I will get my BMI and all that other stuff checked and talk about diet and supplements for that. Maybe they can give me a boost. I'll let you know. Then after my 9am appointment, it's off to the gym for a good workout. The thing is, I need to go for my appointment on an empty stomach and drink a quart of water before it, so I will have to take something for my brekky before the gym. Probably a Special K protein bar, I need to buy some more of those today.

Well, I still haven't been in the pool yet, maybe later today. The air temps have been over 100 degrees the last few days so maybe the pool is finally warm enough now. I hope you all have a great and productive day. Yes, biscottibody, both sexes of the quail have the little topknot thing on their head, so funny looking, the female has duller coloring, as in most birds. Greengirl, funny thing, divided by a common language, lol! Thanks for all your encouragement. See y'all tomorrow!

Progress as of today: 11.4 lbs lost so far, only 19.6 lbs to go!

greengirl on 06/05/2007:
Don't you just find all this getting older lark a tad depressing, with all it's aches and pains! I do. Still, we have to fight the good fight to keep going!! I cant imagine temps of 100 degrees. That would be a once ina lifetime extreme over here in england. Take care, Soonie :o)

Okay, up .6 of a pound! What the heck?! And don't give me all those lame excuses, it's not muscle, it's not TOM (I don't have those anymore, I'm OLD!) so I know it's just that @*@* scale god trying to get me down. But that won't happen (well, I'm trying anyway) I worked my you-know-what off this week but I did have a couple of slip-ups, didn't think they were too bad. I just know these things happen with the scale and it's probably nothing I did wrong---maybe. Yesterday, I ate 1160 calories, didn't eat the salty stuff and drank lots of water. I bowled 4 games with the DH in an hour and walked 2 miles on my treadmill. I know I had more good days than bad last week and I will go on. It WILL happen, in time.

Heh, the quail are pecking on the kitchen window right now, telling me it's time for their food, so funny. So anyway, today will be bowling in the 9-pin no-tap tournament and then who knows? I think I will not do any more exercise than that today. Giving my body a little rest. And I plan on having a few goodies too. Then tomorrow it's back on the wagon. Oh, I watched another movie yesterday---"Children of Men"--pretty good but sort of hard to understand, they were all British, sorry, all you UK people out there. But we find that when the actors are British and they talk fast, the DH and I have a hard time understanding them. Of course, we're just old hillbillys anyway, lol. Anyway.....

Okay, this is the start of another week. (must go feed the quail before they peck themselves right through the window (flashes of the movie "The Birds",lol) Hope we all have a great week! See ya laterz.....

C'est la vie, Soonie. Sometimes crap just happens, usually when you are weighing yourself on the scales!!! You have been doing great, but lifes just not fair!! Keep your chin up!! LOL on the english actors. We have the same problem in reverse. They do say we are two countries, divided by a common language :o)

Good Sunday morning, everyone! Here I am, it's 7:25am and I'm almost ready to go bowling. Can we say "bowling fool"?! Although I'm aching all over! I had a good workout yesterday, about 90 minutes or more, including 2 miles on the track and 1 mile on the treadmill (love their treadmills!) and a quarter mile cooldown. I like the way you just hit the "cooldown" button and it automatically lowers the speed gradually. And I did the usual 10 weightlifting exercises. I RAWK!! Then time to go home for lunch. During lunch I watched "Hannibal Rising". Oooooh, gory film! But pretty much like the book so it was good. I talked to #2 son a little, he's enjoying his new job so far. He lives in Cincinnati so I haven't seen him in quite awhile. Then I took a shower, got on the computer to find some bargain airline prices, they keep changing and we're going to Maui in October so I'd better get on it, but didn't get in here to read again. It was past time for my dinner and while eating that, we watched "Man of the Year" with Robin Williams, pretty good movie. By then it was time for bed. So I didn't get much done yesterday except working out and watching movies! Rough day! Oh, and I only ate 960 calories so I made up for Friday. I just hope the scale thinks so too tomorrow. My size 12 shorts still don't feel any looser this morning and I don't really feel like I've lost weight. I'm nervous to get on the scale in the morning, haven't been on it all week though. I'll settle for any loss at all. I think I've done really well this week except for a couple of small slip-ups.

So today will be bowling with the DH, then straight home, no eating out today. And I will probably do some walking on my treadmill at some time today. I hope to get here later and get caught up with you all. Meanwhile, have a great Sunday, stay safe and have some fun!

Progress as of today: 12 lbs lost so far, only 19 lbs to go!

I will keep my fingers crossed that you get another good result on the scales this week, Soonie. You are doing really good with the exercise again. Well done :o)

WorkingIt2 on 06/03/2007:
I think you should watch all three Shrek movies..they are really good! Well, I haven't seen #3 yet, but the first two were great lol. So are both Ice Age movies. And the pool jogging...it is a fantastic exercise if you love the water, the outdoors and being a bit cooler while you workout. And it isn't an easy workout by any means...unless, of course, we make it easy..but it is like anything..you can push yourself or take it easy or find a happy medium! I hope you have had a wonderful day today!

Sounds like you had a awesomely perfect Sunday!! I love those movie workout days, of course for me that means getting everything done by Saturday!! =0) Looking forward to reading about your loss! Hannible Rising was pretty good. I read the book before seeing the movie (finished it a day or two before the movie came out) Saw Pirates 3 this weekend with our kids and hope to go see Bug soon... have an awesome day!!!

Sooooo, yesterday didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped. No more eating out this weekend! Although, it wasn't actually the eating out that put me over the 1400 calories. It was after dinner that I kept eating. First I did my 2 miles of walking on the treadmill in the morning. Later we went to the Home and Garden Show at the convention center downtown. We got lost but finally found it at about 12:30. It wasn't as nice as the one we went to a few years ago and we didn't find anything we wanted to buy. Then we went to Mimi's Cafe for lunch at about 2:00. We split the cobb salad like we usually do and the LF blueberry muffin. I ate half my salad and took the rest home. Afterward I realized I should have just eaten 1/4 of the muffin instead of half, that would have been enough. And the salad dressing, which I love, cost another 243 calories! I still kept track and ate the other half of salad with my FF dressing for dinner. That didn't seem to satisfy me so I ate a serving of almonds, still doing okay. Then I had some really thin wafer cookies, another 60 calories, still under my 1400 calories. Well, then I ate some pretzels and a pb&j sandwich! So I figure about 2000 calories for the day!! Waaaah! I'm so disappointed! Then this morning, with the DH gone for some oatmeal at his favorite restaurant so I could sleep in (7:30) and then to my Mom's to do some work, that little evil voice tried to talk me into going to McD's for brekky. She said "you can do it, no one is here to see you pig out on all that greasy food that you love" but I thought "no, I need to do really well today to make up for yesterday, and I've worked so hard all week, and I'd rather see a drop on the scale Monday than eat that junk!" So here I am. Almost brekky time and then, later, I will go to the gym for a really good workout! That's the plan, Stan! I'm going to stop at Blockbuster and pick up a movie for tonight, probably "Man of the Year", I think that's what it's called, with Robin Williams. My #2 son said it is really funny and the DH likes Robin Williams. Maybe another movie for tomorrow. I just watched "Catch and Release" last night by myself, I knew the DH wouldn't like that one. It was kind of boring, same old thing. I like Jennifer Garner but other than that, not that good. I'm thinking when Shrek #3 comes out on video, I'm going to rent all 3 since we haven't seen them yet. They look cute and funny. What do you think?

Okay, I still didn't get here to read entries yesterday, bad Soonie! Maybe later today. I'm anxious to see how you all are doing. I hope you're having a great weekend so far. See you tomorrow!

Happy Friday, everyone!! Things are going well for the Soonie so far this week. I figured that Wednesday's mistake wasn't as bad as I'd thought, actually. I'm sure I did go over my 1400 calories but probably not that much and I did have a good workout at the gym. Monday was pretty bad but I did that last week too and I still managed to lose 3.2 pounds that week. So I'm happy with the way things are going. Yesterday I had my 3 games of bowling with the gang, then DH and I went to lunch at Applebee's and I had the WW menu teriyaki steak and shrimp skewers with rice and steamed veggies, which they say is only 370 calories. I drank water and had one tiny bite of the DH's brownie and ice cream, which they brought to us free of charge because we complained that the steamed veggies were hard as a rock. I know steamed veggies are supposed to be sort of crunchy but you couldn't even cut these with a knife! I also wrote a complaint on their website, which is what the waitress told us to do. That's the only way you can get them to make some changes. Anyway....the brownie was good and I really wanted more, in fact the DH pushed the dish over to me with several bites left but I was strong and didn't eat any more. Small victories! I ended up the day with 1081 calories, not counting the bite of brownie. Oh, and I got on my treadmill about 4pm and walked 3 miles in 53:19. Knocked some time off from my Sunday's record. I was in the zone! Of course later my right knee, my left heel and leg were killing me so I got into the jacuzzi. It didn't help much. But I did get up at 6:30 this morning and did another 2 miles on the treadmill. I'm not going to the gym today because we are going to the Home and Garden Show at the convention center later (yes, we are truly old) We have free tickets, can't beat that! Should be fun and a lot of walking around. I will go to the gym tomorrow.

Okay, that's it for today. I didn't get to come in here yesterday to read your entries, Soonie is a busy girl. Maybe later today. My puter is still not up and running, thank goodness for the laptop! Have a wonderful day and I'll see you later!

Gooood morning!! Here we are, Thursday already! Well, yesterday wasn't that good, as far as the food thing goes but I did work for 75 minutes at the gym. I lost count of calories. I ate some leftover chile with spaghetti and cheese for lunch and there was some still left from that, so I ate it in the afternoon. I was just having a very hungry day! And that with the half of hamburger (they were 1/3 pound ones) that I had with Texas beans for dinner with Sis and BIL probably added up to too much calories for one day, lol. Whatever! At least I didn't make a pig of myself at dinner (well, I was probably too stuffed from all the other eating, heh). We ended up playing a rousing game of Fishinopoly after dinner with them. They had given the game to DH for his birthday last year and we'd never tried it (DH is a fishin' fool!). It was fun and BIL managed to keep up with us okay. He's gotten kind of slow because of the brain tumor and it's really sad to see. But we joked around and had a good time. He was able to eat a lot more than I would have thought too, even though he's been pretty sick lately, so I was glad to see that.

Okay, today is bowling with the gang. Fun! We play cards along with the bowling--when you get a strike you get 2 cards, a spare gets you 1 card, all the way up until you have 7 cards. Best poker hand at the end of the game of bowling wins the quarters. We each put up one quarter for each game of bowling and cards. I loves me bowling and cards!

I hope you all have a great day. Hang in there and stay strong! I'll be back later to check up. Laterz....

Okay, I'm back on the wagon! I did well yesterday, eating 1240 calories and I did get on the treadmill just before dinner for 2 miles of walking. And I felt good for doing it. I had spent all morning doing some shopping, 2 grocery stores, the Goodwill store (bought a pair of Lee denim shorts for $2.69!) and Walgreen's. I made Cincinnati chili for dinner but I weighed, measured and counted all the calories I ate. I used FF cheese on it with the spaghetti and the tiny crackers. I divided the rest and froze it for later meals. The recipe really makes a lot. So I enjoyed that. Today Sis and BIL are coming over for grilled hamburgers for dinner, that is, if BIL feels up to it. We will have Texas beans, baked chips and fruit salad with it so all healthy. Today I am going to the gym after breakfast for a good workout. It's really hot here, going up to 98 degrees today, 100 tomorrow. Thankful for air conditioning! I'm hungry but not time for brekky quite yet. Guess I'll go read some entries, didn't get on here yesterday. Still using the laptop. #3 son brought us a new computer last night but still couldn't get things working right just yet. Left in a huff!

Well, I hope you're all doing great! Have a fantastic day and I'll be back tomorrow!

Well, well, when Soonie is good, she's very good, and when Soonie is bad, she is EVIL!! I went way off the wagon yesterday. Let me tell you all about it. I left the house, fully intending to do my bowling and then go to the gym for a workout. I had my gym bag and my little baggie of almonds for a snack in between. I'm driving along and my heart started to do these flip-flop things, kinda like fluttering in my chest. Over and over. Now I've had this before, it started about 10 years ago and the doc said it was PVC's (premature ventricular contractions) and he started me on my first blood pressure med and it helped. They went away and I only had them once in awhile, very seldom, and only for a few seconds and it would go away. So imagine how concerned I was that it kept going on and on, all the way through my 4 games of bowling (yep, in spite of the discomfort, I bowled very well, having a 298 my third game, this is the 9-pin no-tap thing so 9 pins down on the first ball counts as a strike so I had lots of strikes) and I was pretty tired after all that so opted out on the gym thing. And I just had to treat myself to KFC crispy strips with all the sides. Also stopped at Circle K and bought chocolate cupcakes and cherry poptarts for dessert!! The heart thing still kept up but I felt fine (and it didn't hurt my appetite, lol), just really tired and I wasn't worried because the doc had told me that it wouldn't cause a heart attack. I thought that if it kept up until today, then I would do something about it. After lunch I took a much needed nap and when I woke up, the heart thing was gone. I have no idea what caused it, I ate the same breakfast, drank the same green tea, took the same meds, everything the same as usual. Well, it's over and I'm back on the wagon today. And really, all the bowling I did, which was probably the equivalent of 6 games, with all the practice I had too, was enough exercise for the day. So I'm going with that. Today will be better, I sure don't want to gain all that weight back again. I will do my treadmill work this afternoon. I need to get out to the stores for a few things since Sis and BIL will be coming over for dinner tomorrow now that he's feeling somewhat better. So I will have a busy day. I may go to the Goodwill store too, I love just looking through all the clothes and books even though I don't really need any, I just love a good bargain and it passes the time. So that's it for me. You all have a great day. Stay strong!

Progress as of today: 12 lbs lost so far, only 19 lbs to go!

Okay, weigh day! I was really nervous this morning before I got on the scale. I really didn't want to do it. I told myself that if I only lost a pound or nothing, I wasn't going to let it ruin my day. I thought it's only a number and I do feel better (I wore a pair of shorts yesterday that I couldn't get into comfortably last time I tried them) so what the heck?! Woohoo!! I'm doing the happy dance! Down into 150's land!! I certainly didn't expect that! So I'm very happy with that. And I did work hard this week. Yesterday ended up with 1200 calories, although I may have underestimated the pancakes. All I could find on CalorieKing was IHOP pancakes or pancake mix so I used the IHOP ones and figured 210 calories for the one and a half that I ate. Also counted the SF syrup I used and the honey in my tea. The rest of the day, I ate relatively lightly. And I did 3 miles on the treadmill again, besides the 3 games of bowling. I really pushed myself and did 2 miles in 35:38 and the total 3 miles in 54:01. So I knocked off some time from Saturday's walk. I finished sewing the pajama shorts and the top. They turned out well, I think. I haven't tried them on since I finished them though. So that's all taken care of. I still need to sew the decor on the scuffs (slippers) that will match the cuffs on the shorts and the decor on the shirt. You'll see what I mean when I post the pic. Does anyone here know how to do that? I forgot who helped me before. If I do it myself, I don't know how to size it so it will fit.

We watched another movie last night, one that Sis and BIL had gotten from Blockbuster and said was good. The Hitcher. Creepy movie but sort of dumb. I'd give it half a thumb up, lol. And I didn't eat a thing while we watched it, no snacking. I can do really well with the not eating past 7pm, I've been doing it so long now.

Okay, today---bowling again this morning. This is that tournament thing that I do on Mondays. Wish me luck! Then the plan is to go to the gym although that little voice inside is telling me to take the day off and maybe have a "cheat" meal too. That's what I did last week and I still lost 3.2 pounds so the voice is very convincing! We'll see. I'm sorta tired this morning. I sleep well until about 3am, then wake up every half hour or so. And my left leg starts hurting. So I have to keep moving. But my sinuses are still doing well. I only did the neti pot (SinuCleanse) last evening, my sinuses stayed clear all day yesterday. This is really a miracle for me since I have been using nasal sprays of one kind or another for years and years. I'm so glad I heard about this thing! I hope it keeps up. Anyway....I hope you're all having a great Monday, Happy Memorial Day to you Americans. See you tomorrow!

Okay, yesterday was a huge success! I had 1220 calories and my 3 mile walk on the treadmill. I kept busy all day and almost finished the pajama shorts. I had already finished the cross stitch lettering on the shirt so that is almost finished too. So just some finishing touches on those. I watched that movie "Win a Date With Tad Hamilton". Now I know why I got that one--it had Josh Duhumel in it. He used to be Leo on All My Children, which I watch everyday. Also on the show Las Vegas. Now they never found his body after he fell into a waterfall on All My Children so I wouldn't be surprised if he came back, lol. Anyway it was a cute movie, one the DH would have never sat still for so I watched it by myself as I ate lunch. Anyway, today is not as good so far. DH and I went bowling after a small breakfast and BIL showed up with his Dad. He got out of the hospital yesterday but things don't look so good for him. They say the tumor has spread to the other side of his brain and they can't do surgery so they put him back on the stronger chemo again. Now the guys at Duke University in North Carolina had said that he had a brain bleed on that side of his brain so now we don't know who to believe, is it tumor or brain bleed? Either way, it doesn't look good for him. And you can tell that he isn't as well as he had been, poor guy. Anyway, DH and I only bowled 3 games, BIL and his Dad watched us, then they wanted to go to Village Inn for some breakfast so we went with them. DH and I shared an order of pancakes, still more than I needed, having already had a packet of oatmeal earlier. And I drank two cups of hot tea with honey so more calories. But we had an enjoyable time with them. That's what's important, right? My Sis was home, working this morning. She does medical transcription at home for the hospital. Anyway now I must be extra good the rest of today to make up for the pancakes. And I will get on the treadmill later this afternoon for a good walk. Weigh day tomorrow. My shoulders are still aching from the weights at the gym Friday, I increased the weight I had been using on one exercise. Oh, I found out the gym will be open tomorrow and we will have the bowling in the morning too. Yippee! So just another Monday for me. Although, if I bowl as bad as I did this morning, I won't make the first cut tomorrow. Oh, well, I just go for the fun.

Okay, did I forget anything?! I do ramble on. Guess I'll get busy on those finishing touches to the pj's. On the day I will wear them for the Red Hat Ladies meeting, I'll try to get a pic for y'all. Maybe I'll win first prize for my get-up. Anyway it should be fun. Hope you're all having a great day so far. Hang in there, thinville is just around the corner!
