Helleeeeewww!! How are you all this fine morning? I slept in a little more than usual--didn't get out of bed until 8am. It felt gooood! Now I feel great! Still haven't done my exercise but that will come in after brekky. It's almost 9 now.

Well, yesterday was a good day, I went over a tad on the calories because I'm still eating up the LC pizzas that were in the freezer, also there are some other diet dinners I need to eat. The pizzas are 350 calories each, way too much since I am trying to eat small meals every 3 hours as they told me to do on this program. So I will be cutting back after the dinners are gone. DH doesn't like them and I hate to throw things away. So.....the shake mix stuff is keeping me from being overly hungry and I'm down 4 tenths from yesterday. I went and had my pedicure in the afternoon and my toes feel great! And I got a nice dark red color, looks sexy, lol. I should do that more often, although, when it was time to pay, she said "we only take checks or cash now"!! I usually use my credit card, I use it for everything, so convenient! Fortunately I did have enough cash for the fee and tip. I need to start carrying a check with me just for occasions such as this. Reminder: go get a check to put in my wallet! I know I will forget. Anyway....I felt so pampered!

Did I tell you that Applebee's sent me an e-mail saying to print it out and use it for 2 free WW dinners any time we want? Remember I had contacted them from their website to complain about the undercooked veggies with the WW dinners. So they did read it and VOILA!! Free food! Gotta love that. I will just tell the waitperson to steam the veggies more than they usually do. Trouble is, I can't print it out because my puter is down and I don't know how to hook up the printer to the laptop! So that will have to wait for #3 son. I hope he gets our puter fixed soon, we're waiting for a new motherboard.

Okay, time for brekky. Oops, just had to plug in the power cord to the laptop cause I ran out of power from the battery. There now I can finish. At least I didn't lose my whole entry. Well, where was I? Oh, yeah, brekky. I'm starved! So you all have a great Saturday! I'll be back!

Progress as of today: 11.4 lbs lost so far, only 19.6 lbs to go!

greengirl on 06/09/2007:
I dont like to throw away good food, especially when it costs so much in the first place. We are such a throwaway society!! I always end up eating weird food combinations when I have to clean out the fridge or freezer LOL. Have a great day, Soonie :o)

Horn_Of_Plenty on 06/09/2007:
hehe, i really enjoyed reading your entry...especially the last part! i can tell you are in a good mood and happy! have a wonderful day and a good breakfast!

WorkingIt2 on 06/10/2007:
Can't recall if you'd had an MRI on your shoulder to determine if you have a torn rotator cuff? I think we talked about this before, but I'm not sure. If so, excuse my entry lol. I just know a few people who have torn them...one was done when he fell off his horse, the other was during a drug bust, and the one..well, she was making the bed! They would all have periods of time when they could still do things and not hurt so very much, but the nagging pain was always there. And then when they did decide to push themselves, the pain became unbearable. Two of them have had surgery, one is still trying to wait it out. However, the one thing that seems to be common information is that a torn rotator cuff can only be fixed via surgery.

ANYWAY, I hope you feel better soon and get some rest and relaxation!

Alrighty, then! I am overwhelmed with all the comments and advice! You're all so sweet! Here's the news---my right arm is feeling better, still hurts certain ways I move it but the acupuncture treatment really helped and I'm going back for more on Monday morning. Now the tendonitis is acting up in my left shoulder again and the reason for all my other body aches is good old arthur, you know, arthritis. My left ankle, my right knee, my left hip, my neck and shoulders. This body is going to H-E double hockey sticks, lol. Ah, old age. But the best thing for that is "movement", I must keep it moving. And lots of stretching too. So that's it, deal with it! So far this morning I have walked 2 miles on my treadmill so I'm back at it. 4 days of no exercise. Needless to say, I will not be bowling for awhile. DH went by himself to bowl with the gang yesterday, waaaah, that makes me sad. I loves me bowling, ya know! I didn't go since I still couldn't raise my arm to shower and wash my hair and I was a mess! Finally showered last night and it weren't easy, heh. Now I need to do it again. I have an appointment for a pedicure at 1:00, at least my feet will feel good, lol.

I started the new plan that my acupuncturist's office offers--"Firstline Therapy"--and I bought the supplement shake mix "Ultra Meal 360 Plus" that's supposed to provide vitamins and minerals and help the metabolism. We'll see. Yuck, it's not that good either, needs some ice cream, lol. I take it twice a day and eat a good meal plan according to how my body burns calories. It came out that my BMI is 28.3 and I burn about 1500 calories a day just doing nothing. So with all the figuring I need to stay under 1455 calories a day to lose weight with my 2 miles of walking 5 days a week. I was doing less than 1400 before anyway. And certain foods I can eat and certain ones I can eat no more, well, for 12 weeks anyway while I'm doing this program. We'll see what happens. I just started yesterday and didn't do any exercise but ate 1435 calories. The shakes are 190 calories each and my Arginine Plus with magnesium that I take for my blood pressure is 80 calories so there's 460 calories already. Although I'm starting out with only one scoop of the shake mix instead of 2 at a time because it tends to bloat you until you get used to it and my body gets gassy from the soy that's in it. So hopefully over time I can increase it to the 2 scoops of mix at a time. The first time I took it yesterday, I used 2 scoops in the shake and I felt so bloated and gassy and my stomach hurt for hours. With just one scoop I felt okay. I will go back next week to get weighed in again. Their scale weighed me in at 165 point something. I said "you're scale is wrong" lol. But I had just drank 40 oz. of water and had my denim shorts and t-shirt on, no shoes. This morning my scale said 161.2 so I have gone up some. I did not eat well on Monday, did well on Tuesday and not well on Wednesday because I was planning on starting this new plan on Thursday, heh. Trouble is, I still have some LC dinners and other things that I'm not supposed to eat on this diet but I'm going to finish them off anyway, I can't bear to throw them out. So that may slow down the weightloss even though I'm staying under the calorie limit. What a pain!

Okay, I think that's it. I'm just going to do the best I can. Thanks for all your great advice. I'm mending and feeling better. Guess I will never be pain-free again in this lifetime. Oh, well. Things could be worse. Have a great Friday and weekend. Hope you're all doing wonderful! (or is it "wonderfully"?)

A penguin walks into a bar and asks the bartender "Have you seen my brother lately?" The bartender says "I don't know. What's he look like?" Haha.

Well, things have gotten worse. As the day wore on yesterday, my right arm got worse and worse. I had a hard time getting it comfortable last night and didn't sleep well. It HURTS!! It's worse than the left one had been. I can hardly raise it. I must have really damaged something in there. So no exercising for awhile. I know, you may say, why can't I still do my walking? Well, I'm in pain with the arm all the time and I just don't feel like doing anything! So that's how it is going to be. I'm surprised I can still type but it does hurt doing this. So I won't be long. I'm still going to the acupuncturist this morning, although I doubt he can help my arm problem. I will still get the treatment for my sinuses and hot flashes. I would have canceled the appointment but it was too late when I realized my arm was so bad. So I will go. It's so tempting to just chuck the whole diet thing, I want to eat for comfort. But I was doing so well I don't want to give up now. It will just take a little longer. So hang in there. Stay strong and it will happen. Be patient. (this is as much for me as you all) Have a great day! Oh, I forgot, I went to the casino yesterday, I decided my arm couldn't handle the bowling and I was right because it just got worse without bowling. I shouldn't have gone to the casino either, it wasn't pretty, lol.

Don't give in to the eat for comfort vibes - it's only short term - losing weight feels a ton better than eating junk - it just really does.

Try not to eat for comfort. Then two things will burt - your arm AND your head from knowing you ate stuff you didn't need to. Seriously - I hope your arm gets better FAST. If it's not better in a day or two - don't put off seeing about it.....My fingers are crossed.....

Well, here I am. Dragging in from the fiasco of yesterday's debauchery! I was evil again. But that's my Monday, it gets me through the week. So back to the good Soonie today. Don't have any real plans so far, a nice brekky and then maybe back to do some work on my bowling, I don't know. Maybe make that my exercise today. I thought about going to the casino too but think I'd rather bowl, although my right shoulder is hurting some. Maybe I need to work it out. It seems the herbal supplements are not really helping me any and I will discuss that with him tomorrow when I go for a treatment. I feel like my body is in more pain than ever. I've been working out with weights for at least 2 days for 4 weeks now and that pain should be over by now, I think. This is something else. My legs hurt every time I stand up to walk. Once I get going, I'm fine. But why do they hurt? I'm not that #@*& old! What will I be like in 10 years, if I make it that long?! I thought the working out was supposed to be good for that and keep you young. I just get worse! Okay, nuff whining!

I ate and ate yesterday, felt bad with all that sugar, not going to do that much again, I think. Maybe just one treat on Mondays. I'm still learning. I only bowled 3 games since I didn't bowl good enough to make the first cut. So I stopped at the store, bought some junk food and went home for lunch. Bad, bad, bad. Must start showing some control. But it wasn't because of the bad weighin, I had planned this all week, it gets me through the week. Now I will get back into it strongly and maybe have some loss this week. But I think I'm not going to push myself as much, no 3 mile walks, just to see what happens. But I will keep the eating part as good as possible. Also with my appointment with the acupuncturist tomorrow, I will get my BMI and all that other stuff checked and talk about diet and supplements for that. Maybe they can give me a boost. I'll let you know. Then after my 9am appointment, it's off to the gym for a good workout. The thing is, I need to go for my appointment on an empty stomach and drink a quart of water before it, so I will have to take something for my brekky before the gym. Probably a Special K protein bar, I need to buy some more of those today.

Well, I still haven't been in the pool yet, maybe later today. The air temps have been over 100 degrees the last few days so maybe the pool is finally warm enough now. I hope you all have a great and productive day. Yes, biscottibody, both sexes of the quail have the little topknot thing on their head, so funny looking, the female has duller coloring, as in most birds. Greengirl, funny thing, divided by a common language, lol! Thanks for all your encouragement. See y'all tomorrow!

greengirl on 06/05/2007:
Don't you just find all this getting older lark a tad depressing, with all it's aches and pains! I do. Still, we have to fight the good fight to keep going!! I cant imagine temps of 100 degrees. That would be a once ina lifetime extreme over here in england. Take care, Soonie :o)

Okay, up .6 of a pound! What the heck?! And don't give me all those lame excuses, it's not muscle, it's not TOM (I don't have those anymore, I'm OLD!) so I know it's just that @*@* scale god trying to get me down. But that won't happen (well, I'm trying anyway) I worked my you-know-what off this week but I did have a couple of slip-ups, didn't think they were too bad. I just know these things happen with the scale and it's probably nothing I did wrong---maybe. Yesterday, I ate 1160 calories, didn't eat the salty stuff and drank lots of water. I bowled 4 games with the DH in an hour and walked 2 miles on my treadmill. I know I had more good days than bad last week and I will go on. It WILL happen, in time.

Heh, the quail are pecking on the kitchen window right now, telling me it's time for their food, so funny. So anyway, today will be bowling in the 9-pin no-tap tournament and then who knows? I think I will not do any more exercise than that today. Giving my body a little rest. And I plan on having a few goodies too. Then tomorrow it's back on the wagon. Oh, I watched another movie yesterday---"Children of Men"--pretty good but sort of hard to understand, they were all British, sorry, all you UK people out there. But we find that when the actors are British and they talk fast, the DH and I have a hard time understanding them. Of course, we're just old hillbillys anyway, lol. Anyway.....

Okay, this is the start of another week. (must go feed the quail before they peck themselves right through the window (flashes of the movie "The Birds",lol) Hope we all have a great week! See ya laterz.....

Progress as of today: 11.4 lbs lost so far, only 19.6 lbs to go!

greengirl on 06/04/2007:
C'est la vie, Soonie. Sometimes crap just happens, usually when you are weighing yourself on the scales!!! You have been doing great, but lifes just not fair!! Keep your chin up!! LOL on the english actors. We have the same problem in reverse. They do say we are two countries, divided by a common language :o)

Good Sunday morning, everyone! Here I am, it's 7:25am and I'm almost ready to go bowling. Can we say "bowling fool"?! Although I'm aching all over! I had a good workout yesterday, about 90 minutes or more, including 2 miles on the track and 1 mile on the treadmill (love their treadmills!) and a quarter mile cooldown. I like the way you just hit the "cooldown" button and it automatically lowers the speed gradually. And I did the usual 10 weightlifting exercises. I RAWK!! Then time to go home for lunch. During lunch I watched "Hannibal Rising". Oooooh, gory film! But pretty much like the book so it was good. I talked to #2 son a little, he's enjoying his new job so far. He lives in Cincinnati so I haven't seen him in quite awhile. Then I took a shower, got on the computer to find some bargain airline prices, they keep changing and we're going to Maui in October so I'd better get on it, but didn't get in here to read again. It was past time for my dinner and while eating that, we watched "Man of the Year" with Robin Williams, pretty good movie. By then it was time for bed. So I didn't get much done yesterday except working out and watching movies! Rough day! Oh, and I only ate 960 calories so I made up for Friday. I just hope the scale thinks so too tomorrow. My size 12 shorts still don't feel any looser this morning and I don't really feel like I've lost weight. I'm nervous to get on the scale in the morning, haven't been on it all week though. I'll settle for any loss at all. I think I've done really well this week except for a couple of small slip-ups.

So today will be bowling with the DH, then straight home, no eating out today. And I will probably do some walking on my treadmill at some time today. I hope to get here later and get caught up with you all. Meanwhile, have a great Sunday, stay safe and have some fun!

Progress as of today: 12 lbs lost so far, only 19 lbs to go!

I will keep my fingers crossed that you get another good result on the scales this week, Soonie. You are doing really good with the exercise again. Well done :o)

WorkingIt2 on 06/03/2007:
I think you should watch all three Shrek movies..they are really good! Well, I haven't seen #3 yet, but the first two were great lol. So are both Ice Age movies. And the pool jogging...it is a fantastic exercise if you love the water, the outdoors and being a bit cooler while you workout. And it isn't an easy workout by any means...unless, of course, we make it easy..but it is like anything..you can push yourself or take it easy or find a happy medium! I hope you have had a wonderful day today!

Hannible Rising was pretty good. I read the book before seeing the movie (finished it a day or two before the movie came out) Saw Pirates 3 this weekend with our kids and hope to go see Bug soon... have an awesome day!!!

Sooooo, yesterday didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped. No more eating out this weekend! Although, it wasn't actually the eating out that put me over the 1400 calories. It was after dinner that I kept eating. First I did my 2 miles of walking on the treadmill in the morning. Later we went to the Home and Garden Show at the convention center downtown. We got lost but finally found it at about 12:30. It wasn't as nice as the one we went to a few years ago and we didn't find anything we wanted to buy. Then we went to Mimi's Cafe for lunch at about 2:00. We split the cobb salad like we usually do and the LF blueberry muffin. I ate half my salad and took the rest home. Afterward I realized I should have just eaten 1/4 of the muffin instead of half, that would have been enough. And the salad dressing, which I love, cost another 243 calories! I still kept track and ate the other half of salad with my FF dressing for dinner. That didn't seem to satisfy me so I ate a serving of almonds, still doing okay. Then I had some really thin wafer cookies, another 60 calories, still under my 1400 calories. Well, then I ate some pretzels and a pb&j sandwich! So I figure about 2000 calories for the day!! Waaaah! I'm so disappointed! Then this morning, with the DH gone for some oatmeal at his favorite restaurant so I could sleep in (7:30) and then to my Mom's to do some work, that little evil voice tried to talk me into going to McD's for brekky. She said "you can do it, no one is here to see you pig out on all that greasy food that you love" but I thought "no, I need to do really well today to make up for yesterday, and I've worked so hard all week, and I'd rather see a drop on the scale Monday than eat that junk!" So here I am. Almost brekky time and then, later, I will go to the gym for a really good workout! That's the plan, Stan! I'm going to stop at Blockbuster and pick up a movie for tonight, probably "Man of the Year", I think that's what it's called, with Robin Williams. My #2 son said it is really funny and the DH likes Robin Williams. Maybe another movie for tomorrow. I just watched "Catch and Release" last night by myself, I knew the DH wouldn't like that one. It was kind of boring, same old thing. I like Jennifer Garner but other than that, not that good. I'm thinking when Shrek #3 comes out on video, I'm going to rent all 3 since we haven't seen them yet. They look cute and funny. What do you think?

Okay, I still didn't get here to read entries yesterday, bad Soonie! Maybe later today. I'm anxious to see how you all are doing. I hope you're having a great weekend so far. See you tomorrow!

Happy Friday, everyone!! Things are going well for the Soonie so far this week. I figured that Wednesday's mistake wasn't as bad as I'd thought, actually. I'm sure I did go over my 1400 calories but probably not that much and I did have a good workout at the gym. Monday was pretty bad but I did that last week too and I still managed to lose 3.2 pounds that week. So I'm happy with the way things are going. Yesterday I had my 3 games of bowling with the gang, then DH and I went to lunch at Applebee's and I had the WW menu teriyaki steak and shrimp skewers with rice and steamed veggies, which they say is only 370 calories. I drank water and had one tiny bite of the DH's brownie and ice cream, which they brought to us free of charge because we complained that the steamed veggies were hard as a rock. I know steamed veggies are supposed to be sort of crunchy but you couldn't even cut these with a knife! I also wrote a complaint on their website, which is what the waitress told us to do. That's the only way you can get them to make some changes. Anyway....the brownie was good and I really wanted more, in fact the DH pushed the dish over to me with several bites left but I was strong and didn't eat any more. Small victories! I ended up the day with 1081 calories, not counting the bite of brownie. Oh, and I got on my treadmill about 4pm and walked 3 miles in 53:19. Knocked some time off from my Sunday's record. I was in the zone! Of course later my right knee, my left heel and leg were killing me so I got into the jacuzzi. It didn't help much. But I did get up at 6:30 this morning and did another 2 miles on the treadmill. I'm not going to the gym today because we are going to the Home and Garden Show at the convention center later (yes, we are truly old) We have free tickets, can't beat that! Should be fun and a lot of walking around. I will go to the gym tomorrow.

Okay, that's it for today. I didn't get to come in here yesterday to read your entries, Soonie is a busy girl. Maybe later today. My puter is still not up and running, thank goodness for the laptop! Have a wonderful day and I'll see you later!

Gooood morning!! Here we are, Thursday already! Well, yesterday wasn't that good, as far as the food thing goes but I did work for 75 minutes at the gym. I lost count of calories. I ate some leftover chile with spaghetti and cheese for lunch and there was some still left from that, so I ate it in the afternoon. I was just having a very hungry day! And that with the half of hamburger (they were 1/3 pound ones) that I had with Texas beans for dinner with Sis and BIL probably added up to too much calories for one day, lol. Whatever! At least I didn't make a pig of myself at dinner (well, I was probably too stuffed from all the other eating, heh). We ended up playing a rousing game of Fishinopoly after dinner with them. They had given the game to DH for his birthday last year and we'd never tried it (DH is a fishin' fool!). It was fun and BIL managed to keep up with us okay. He's gotten kind of slow because of the brain tumor and it's really sad to see. But we joked around and had a good time. He was able to eat a lot more than I would have thought too, even though he's been pretty sick lately, so I was glad to see that.

Okay, today is bowling with the gang. Fun! We play cards along with the bowling--when you get a strike you get 2 cards, a spare gets you 1 card, all the way up until you have 7 cards. Best poker hand at the end of the game of bowling wins the quarters. We each put up one quarter for each game of bowling and cards. I loves me bowling and cards!

I hope you all have a great day. Hang in there and stay strong! I'll be back later to check up. Laterz....

Okay, I'm back on the wagon! I did well yesterday, eating 1240 calories and I did get on the treadmill just before dinner for 2 miles of walking. And I felt good for doing it. I had spent all morning doing some shopping, 2 grocery stores, the Goodwill store (bought a pair of Lee denim shorts for $2.69!) and Walgreen's. I made Cincinnati chili for dinner but I weighed, measured and counted all the calories I ate. I used FF cheese on it with the spaghetti and the tiny crackers. I divided the rest and froze it for later meals. The recipe really makes a lot. So I enjoyed that. Today Sis and BIL are coming over for grilled hamburgers for dinner, that is, if BIL feels up to it. We will have Texas beans, baked chips and fruit salad with it so all healthy. Today I am going to the gym after breakfast for a good workout. It's really hot here, going up to 98 degrees today, 100 tomorrow. Thankful for air conditioning! I'm hungry but not time for brekky quite yet. Guess I'll go read some entries, didn't get on here yesterday. Still using the laptop. #3 son brought us a new computer last night but still couldn't get things working right just yet. Left in a huff!

Well, I hope you're all doing great! Have a fantastic day and I'll be back tomorrow!

Progress as of today: 12 lbs lost so far, only 19 lbs to go!
