Weight yesterday was 179.4, so up a tad but still not back into the 180's. I had a pretty good weekend and even did some treadmill--30 minutes Saturday, 30 minutes Sunday (only at 2 mph, sheesh) and yesterday I did 20 minutes and then went out in the pool for 10 minutes of backward walking accross the shallow end (of course, heh) (my accupuncturist says this is good for your lower back) and then some arm and leg exercises in the pool. So I have been moving and the eating has been good for those 3 days. I went in for an ultra-sound on Friday, got 10 minutes into it and the computer froze up. She worked for 15 minutes to try to fix it and then said I would have to come back another time to finish it up. Fortunately they had an appointment yesterday morning so I went back then. No results yet so I'm waiting. I got busy this morning and made some much-needed appointments---eye doctor, dentist, gyno, my low-intensity lazer therapy ( I need to keep this up at least once a month now) and a pedicure. So I'm all set and will be busy for the next few weeks for these. Oh, forgot I am changing the weigh day now to Thursdays since we are leaving for Maui on a Thursday. So I have 11 weeks from this Thursday until we leave. Must get busy with the weightloss. Have a great day!

Weight still the same yesterday. 178.8, grrrr! So I had a bad day again yesterday. But I went to the casino and won big so that was good. I have an appointment with the doc's assistant this afternoon. I fear my gall bladder is acting up. Lots of nausea. You'd think that would make me eat less. But when I feel okay, I make up for the nauseous times, heh. I'll try to do better today. Thanks for all the nice comments. And, yes, it is my own pool. I need to get out there more often. Busy, busy, busy!

And lucky you for having a pool in your own backyard~Yes, I am jealous!!! I love swimming but no way in hell am I getting into a swimsuit and going out in public~I'd give anything to have the privacy of my own pool~Sigh

Okay, I'm still doing well. Friday wasn't good though. After getting on the scale, my day had a bad start and just got worse, it seemed. I was in a bad mood all day. I was doing okay with the eating, played Pinochle all afternoon, just nibbling on cherries with my lady friends, but on the way home I was starving so I got McDonald's for dinner. Probably had enough calories for 2 days. But yesterday I was back at it, only had 1115 calories for the day and I did some exercise in the pool for an hour. Okay, I wasn't exercising for the whole hour but quite a bit of it. As for the scale, I'm going to print "Patience" right accross it. I need to remember that. And I'm only going to get on it on Mondays. You know how they say Arizona has a "dry" heat? Well, right now here we are in monsoon season so the humidity is up and we have a chance of rain everyday and temps in the 90's. So no walking outside. I don't mind the treadmill so much. I usually watch TV and listen to music, it's just the getting in there and starting that eludes me. I'll probably do the pool again today if it's not storming. I haven't been in the pool much so far this summer because we had a big problem with bees. A lot of them congregated around the shallow end and I don't like bees. We never had this problem before but yesterday I noticed there were only a couple of them so I got out there. I know they just want the water but still, I don't take any chances. I don't want to get attacked by killer bees. Okay, that's it. See you soon. Have a good one!

Do you have your own pool, or is it a community one that you go to? Just curious!
Trust me,,being in WV, I understand all about humidity~Dry heat is totally different~Still gets hot, don't get me wrong~but when you add serious humidity to the mixture, it zaps the energy outta you real quick~Unless you are in the water~

I'm still doing well with the plan. I counted calories yesterday and came in with 1000-1100 and then I was up 2 tenths of a pound this morning, go figure. Still 178.8. I need to eat better things, had no veggies yesterday. We have plenty of fresh summer fruit though, that part is easy. The small meals are working well for me, even when I'm not at home. I would like to cut back on the sugar and salt though. Baby steps. Still no exercise though, except lots of arm exercises with small weights and I added some ab crunches yesterday also. I'm so afraid of hurting my back or a shoulder or something else that I'm being very careful. Also want to strengthen my legs, I can barely get myself off the floor after the ab crunches. So I'm starting to do some squats while holding onto something. My knees crack the whole time, heh. But I think if I keep it up, working up to more gradually, it will help. Enjoy your youth, getting old is not for sissies!! Okay, I need to go check to see if I won the Powerball now. Keep your fingers crossed.

Thanks for the comments! I have a bulging disc in my lower spine, thus all the pain. It's doing really well now since I had 7 Low-intensity lazer treatments over a period of 3 weeks. They take about an hour each time. He charges $75 for each treatment. My hubby had gone in for plantar faciitus (sp?) and he's cured. Anyway......the diet is going well and I'm never really hungry this way. I feel like I'm eating more but actually I'm not. I'm not counting calories so far, I just eat the right things. My weight went down again this morning--178.8, so if I keep this up, I will get there eventually. I have just over 13 weeks until our Maui trip so I keep that in mind all the time. I know I would suffer in that heat and humidity at this weight. I hope you're all doing well. Hang in there! See you soon.

I've always heard 6 small meals a day were better than 3 larger ones, but I would have a very hard time fitting that into my schedule~Sounds like it's working for you~Yay!
Hi, everyone! Sorry to not have been here for awhile. My back is doing lots better. The treatments I get now are called "Low-Intensity Lazer Therapy". I get them at the office of my accupuncturist. The procedure is fairly new and high-tech. And, boy, do they really work! I'm not pain-free, but doing so much better now. I have to go back every month for maintanance. It's too bad insurance does not cover this. At least, mine doesn't. It works like accupuncture but without the needles. And I swear by accupuncture, it really works also. That's how I started. It cured my neck, my shoulder and now, my back. I've been using it since 2003. Anyway...... I haven't been doing really well with the weightloss but over the weekend I tried something new for me--eating 6 small meals instead of 3 usual ones. I was never hungry and they say it speeds up your metabolism. So that's what I'm going to try for. No exercise yet except for the few arm exercises I did this morning. So this is a new start. Not a very productive week. No exercise. My back is acting up again. The pain now goes down my left leg. I'm getting treatments for it but it's taking time. I'll keep you posted.

Yep, I'm still here. I'm glad they didn't eliminate my space here. I know I'm not doing well with the weight loss, but I'd hate to lose the last 10 years of entries on here. I will be going to Maui again 4 months from today so I'd better get on with the weightloss, right? I sure don't want to go there at this weight. I start and I stop, over and over again. Sometimes I hate how I look and feel at this weight and then, sometimes I feel used to it and I'm dealing with it. I don't know what to do to get me started again except to just start. And try not to think of all the times I've started and failed. It's soooo hard! At least I haven't kept on gaining. Small comfort! Okay, I'll just try to do the best I can. Pretty lame.

Weeeell, that weight sure comes off easily the first week. It's after that it gets tough for me. Yesterday was pretty good. I left early for the casino (came home $600 richer) but I hadn't eaten anything since my instant oatmeal and fresh blueberries for brekky at 8 and by the time I was on my way home at 2:30, I was starved. So I gave in and stopped at Wendy's for that nice fish sandwich they had, I say had, they no longer have it, so I got a burger, small fries and a small frosty. I know, way too much. An hour or so after that, I finished off the potato chips and the cherry pie filling I had left in the frig. Soooo, at 7:30, I got on the treadmill for half an hour walk for some damage control while watching Biggest Loser. I thought I would barely make it for 20 minutes but did the whole half hour. Only had it set at 2.4 mph but I did break a sweat and it was lots better than nothing. And the scale showed it this morning. No walk so far this morning, I had to go to the doc's office for labwork at 7:30 and then stopped at WalMart for a few things. I like to go early when it's not so crowded. And no donut from the bakery even though I hadn't had brekky yet, although the thought did cross my mind, heh. So I am making some progress. I'll keep busy today and get the walk in later sometime. And I've also been doing some modified ab crunches and can feel a difference already! 170's, here I come! You all have a great day!
