Good day so far today! And yesterday turned out well too. I went to the gym today and worked my butt off (I wish) Anyway, I worked out for a straight 78 minutes (but, who's counting, heh) And it was GREAT!! Of course I'm pretty tired right now. I hope someday, when I workout, I will still be able to function afterward, haha! Do you want to hear what my workout consists of? Okay, I'll tell ya! First I do 6 laps upstairs on the track (half a mile) Then I go back downstairs and do 3 weight machines for legs. Then I go back up the stairs (23 stairs, heh) and walk another 6 laps on the track. After that, I do 3 Lifecircuit exercises for legs. Then I do another 6 laps on the track. Oh, the Lifecircuit machines are all upstairs so I don't go up and down again. Then I do 4 Lifecircuit machines for arms and then the back extension machine and the abdominal machine. I do 2 sets of 12 reps of everything but the ab machine. I do 3 sets of 12 on that. Then I do a cool down walk on the track of 6 more laps. So all the walking adds up to 2 miles. Not bad, huh? I've thought of increasing the sets but I'm beat after 2 sets so I'm going to leave it at that for awhile. I need to add some more cardio on the other days like I used to do. Gym is on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Okay, I'm just sitting here, kinda watching Dr. Phil and reading some of my favorite blogs. So now I'm going to go read your entries. I'm trying to keep from eating something. I just had lunch 2 hours ago but still want to eat. I'll probably have an apple soon. Stay strong and fight the good fight. I'll see ya tomorrow.

No exercise today! I got up early and went to WalMart to have that little store in the front, box, wrap and package the afghan for mailing. So that's done and it should get there by Saturday. It turned out really nice after I washed it and used fabric softener to make it really soft. I still have 4 cards to get ready and mail. I'm just not with it this year. But I won't go into that. Yesterday I went to the gym and worked out for 75 minutes again, good workout! But I relaxed a little and ate some stuff I shouldn't have. I had planned it that way, thinking that if I had that one junk meal every Monday, I would be more likely to stick with it the other 6 days. But I'm thinking now that I'm going to try not to do that next Monday, at least, not to that extent. All that sugar was not a good thing. So I go on living and learning, I guess.

So tomorrow is gym day again. I'm looking forward to it. Yesterday I just wasn't into it but still did a good job and was glad afterward. It's less than 10 weeks to Maui now and I must keep working very hard for the goal I want to reach. I lost 1.2 pounds last week and I figure if I do that the next 10 weeks, I'll be very happy. But I'm not counting on it. I know how that goes. But I guess you can feel the desperation I'm feeling, right?

Glad the afghan is done and mailed. They should like it very much. I used to crochet years ago. I enjoyed doing that but when we moved to the bigger house and with a full time job and two kids, I put it to the side. Tried to start up again last year and just couldn't seem to get the hang of it. My sister crochets mini baby blankets for unwed mothers and she does some other stuff too (I think for senior citizens). It's a great past-time because it keeps the hands busy. Congrats on losing 1.2 lbs. last week. Keep the momentum going and you will have a significant loss in time for your vacation.

Well, the start of another new week! Good morning! A small loss but I'll take it. I think I could have exercised more last week. That's the goal for this week. Today I'm going to the gym. I did finish my Christmas cards except for 3 that I have to buy yet. And I put out some decorations and I may not do any more than that. It depresses me to have to do it all myself and a "certain someone" doesn't even care one way or the other. I also finished up the afghan but I still have to wash it. I hope to get it sent tomorrow from that little shop in the front part of WalMart where they will gift wrap it, package it and ship it. And DH and bil are taking the gifts for the families over to that place today. So I'm about all finished with everything.

Yesterday was another good day. I walked for 30 minutes on the treadmill and did 15 minutes on the bike. And eating was good too--21 points. Not much to report today. No exercise so far but I have lots of work to do---finish Christmas cards and get out some decorations. So I'll see ya tomorrow for weigh day. Hope you're all having a good Sunday.

If you didn't read yesterday's entry, go back and read it if you had questions for me about the eyebrow thing. I hope I explained it okay.

Well, well, I didn't get up at 6:30 this morning as I had planned to go right to the gym for a good workout! Now I wish I had. But I had a very bad night of little sleep so just couldn't drag myself up. I'm blaming it on the fact that I can't take the Prempro anymore so I'm having all those nasty symptoms of menopause now. You know, the hot flashes, the night sweats and insomnia, oh, my! I couldn't get to sleep, then I was up 3!! times to use the bathroom and couldn't get back to sleep and someone was racing their car down the dirt road right outside my bedroom, playing their stereo so loud I could feel my body vibrate! I'm taking some Tylenol PM tonight, you betcha! I need a good night's sleep, hope it works.

So no exercise yet but I plan on doing some later today. I slept in, sort of, until 8:30.

Yesterday was another good day---25 points and I rode the bike for 15 minutes and shopped for almost 3 hours in the morning. I had a great time! Bought quite a few things for me, yippee!

I hope to get some Christmas decorating done today and I still need to finish the rest of the Christmas cards. Also needing to do the finishing touches on the afghan. I will get it mailed next week.

So how's your day so far? I hope to get back here some time today and read the entries. You all take care and have a nice Saturday. See ya tomorrow!

Your description of your night is what I go through EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. It's terrible not to be able to sleep, or get back to sleep. I must get up at least 8 times. I tried Ambien for three nights to no effect and gave up on it.

After talking to a number of people it's not so strange after all to have sleep problems. Ah, to be able to sleep and stay asleep!

Good Friday morning!! I've only been up for half an hour since it's only 8:26 here. Yesterday was a very good day---75 minutes of hard work at the gym and only 21 points for the day! And I feel great! Love those endorphins, I highly reccommend them! I'll let you in on a little secret--while I'm working out at the gym, I pretend that I have a personal trainer and he's giving me encouragement and complimenting me on my good form and such. Of course, he's wearing little shorts and a tank top. Oh, those big rippling muscles.....Oops, got a little side tracked there. Anyways, it keeps me working and keeping good form while doing it. And I work harder. Okay, call me crazy! Oh, and sometimes I talk to you all in my head while I'm doing the walking on the track part. Hey, whatever keeps you going, right? Yesterday I added another exercise for the backs of the upper arms. It's a good one! And I increased my walking to 2 miles---did a half mile (6 laps) cool down. I kept thinking of trying out the ellyptical machine but thought I'd just save that for another time.

Okay, to explain about the eyebrow thing---another girl did the original color a couple of years ago, she's no longer with this office (it's a dermatologist's office). The new girl is trying her darnedest to get them just right. It's not me who's not satisfied, it's her. She wants them to be perfect, I guess. That's fine with me. And why she's not charging me, I don't know. Maybe because I had to settle for someone different this time or because she's new. Oh, well, I go back in 6 weeks so she can see if they need more. I really think the next time they fade, in a couple of years (the color isn't quite like a real tattoo, it will fade out) I will just use eyebrow pencil, heh. Anyways, I had them done originally because with my age they have grown very sparse and I would have to use eyebrow pencil, which I hated. Never could get the right color or get them even. So that's how it is! Too much trouble for an old fat woman like me. That makes me feel very uncomfortable too, when she's putting all this work into them. I just hope that's not what she thinks, heh.

Okay, time for breakfast and R and K. Oh, almost forgot, I did get on my recumbant bike while watching The Apprentice last night for 15 minutes. Not much cause I hadn't been on it in a long time. Something is better than nothing, I tell myself.

So you all have yourselves a great Friday. I'm going shopping, whoopee! Just for me though. Should be fun. I'm mad at the DH right now so I can spend as much as I want, hehe! Stay strong, people, it's really worth it in the end.

Yesterday was a very good day, except no exercise. I hope to have an excellent day today. Wait, I mean, I WILL have an excellent day today. The plan is to go to the gym sometime after breakfast. And I will eat right and count the points today. I counted yesterday but just in my head. 25 points for the day. Not excellent but pretty fine!

Okay, I have my gym clothes on already and things are ready to go. Just need to have some breakfast. Looks like a great day today--sunny and warm, up near 70 degrees. I know, you didn't want to hear that! But I'll do my best to have a good day anyways and enjoy just being alive. I hope you do too. See ya tomorrow! Have a great day!

To answer your question about tipping the eyebrow lady, since you've had to go back a couple of times and still need a couple of more touchups before it is corrected, I would tip on the last visit. Why did they have to be redone? Did she botch the original job? If it's her fault, I would still follow the same guideline above and give her a 10% tip on the last appointment. If it wasn't her fault and she's been very friendly each time you've gone and you're satisfied with the final outcome, I'd tip 15-20%. I don't know how much this process cost, but that would be my recommendation.

I agree with the other comments. I would wait until it was all done and then tip. Unless the reason you are going now (you said the color was turning grey) is to fix a mistake on their part, then I don't think I would tip at all. But that is my opinion. Let us know how it finally turns out.

Thanks for your encouraging comment to me, Soonie...

I read both your entries...about the tipping...if you'd feel better to give the nice person who is doing something for free in the office because what another person did didn't take...???...and under usual circumstances the nice person would get a tip, then I think it would be nice to tip the new person...and I think that someone who commented to you to wait until it was all done and then give a tip based on the service you got sounds logical and caring...that way if it doesn't work out again, you can't be told that you must have been satisfied with the service since you were tipping before it was completed.

Okay, late entry today. I had to go get some more work done on my permanent make-up on my eyebrows this morning. Sheesh, she said I would still have to come back 2 more times to get it right. You see, the old color I had turned gray and now it's hard to cover it, it wants to bleed through the new color. Anyway, she hasn't charged me a thing since it's the same office as the girl who did it last. I really don't understand it, maybe she is so new that she's still practicing, ya think? So I need to ask you all a question that's been bothering me about it----since she hasn't charged me anything, should I be tipping her every time she does some work? So far I haven't, thinking I would just give her some money when it's all done. I just feel uncomfortable walking out of there, ya know. Call me stoopid, but I'd really like some feelback on this. And any suggestions.

So today has been a "no exercise" day but tomorrow I plan on going to the gym again. You know, I actually look forward to it now. I love working my muscles and knowing I'm doing something good for myself. I'll just have to be careful and not sweat on my eyebrows, heh. No, I think it will be okay so I'm going, darnit! I just hate missing a day any more. As it is, I will have to go on Saturday and that should be interesting. I plan on going as early as possible, meaning, I'd better get my butt out of bed as early as possible! I did it last Sat. when I went shopping at WalMart so I should be able to do it again. Just not before 7am since I hate driving when it's dark. As it is, every time I work out there, I come home, eat lunch and collapse on my bed for an hour or so. I'm so worn out. That doesn't leave much time for things like house cleaning and such. I still haven't done the Christmas cards yet and there are no decorations so far at our house. Except the little pig that oinks "O, Christmas Tree" that I bought at Walgreen's the other week, heh. So I'd better get my act together, huh? Maybe I'll go start on the cards now, hmmmm?

Oh, forgot, I did exercise at the gym yesterday, one hour. And today the food part has been pretty good, same for yesterday. So I'm putting in a good week so far. Heck, I HAVE to, Feb. 19 and Maui will be here before I know it and I want to be ready.

Good morning! Quick one here. I just had breakfast. In about an hour, I'll leave for the gym. Not much else going on here. I finished my Christmas shopping for the 2 girls yesterday. Went to ToysRUs, very crowded. Then I went to Sears to get them each an outfit. I also went first to the Hematologist, he said to just keep taking the aspirin a day as my Cardiologist had prescribed. That should keep any clots from forming. Glad I don't have to take another prescription. My appointment was at 11:15 and I didn't get to see the doc until quarter to one. I was out of there at 1.

That's a nice idea to buy for a less fortunate family for Christmas. Do you buy for everyone in the family or just the children? Do you do this through an organization? Just curious.

Glad you're going to the gym. Every little bit helps in our efforts to lose weight.

Weigh Day! Not too bad for a really bad week. But I vow that it's going down even more this week. Keeping that deadline in Feb. for the Maui trip in mind should help me stay straight. And I just hate the way I look right now.

So I can't get to the gym today because I have a doctor's appointment this morning and then I'm going shopping for the little girls again. I didn't get much at WalMart Saturday morning so I'm going to ToysRUs today. Hope to get it all finished. Oh, yeah, I went to the gym Friday so that makes 3 times last week. This week I will go on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Even though I hate going anywhere on Saturdays. But I WILL do it! And I plan on doing some kind of exercise the other days. I didn't do any exercise on Saturday except shopping but I worked up a good sweat on Sunday, cleaning my bedroom and bathroom, which was way overdue, and cleaning out the frig. So I counted that as my exercise. I mean, I really cleaned! But then, I treated myself to lunch at McD's! So it's amazing that I lost anything this week.

Okay, time for breakfast. I'm having a hard boiled egg and lower-sugar instant oatmeal with a cup of green tea. That should hold me until lunch. So I'll see ya tomorrow. Have a good one!

Great job on the loss! Way to start the week off on the right foot. That's what i'm trying to do as well, because usually I don't get started until the middle of the week and by then the weekend's almost here and I hardly ever do well on the weekends! So here's to a great week! Stay strong.
