Starting off today in a good mood :) Hope you all have a good start to the holiday weekend! 

Goal for today? Portion control. PORTION CONTROL SARA! lol

B (8) - Oatmeal w/ pb + jelly (2 cups) 

S (11) - Apple and Fiber 1 bar 

L (2) -  Turkey Sandwich (3 Sara lee) w/ lettuce and mustard    

D (5) - Spinach and spaghetti squash w/ chicken tenderlion grilled (2) Amys bean soup + 2 chicken tenders 

S (9)  - Almonds + pb w/ carrots and tea. 

Exercise =

Insanity - Pure Cardio 

Hour of cardio + Legs and abs

 Happy friday everyone!

I think I am back for the most part! I have been traveling for the past month for work and needless to say....it has been a STRUGGLE.  I know I've gained some unwanted weight back. Probably around 5 lbs, but were gonna work on getting it off this month. 

Mr. Hubby comes home soon! 2 more months and were home free! which means...i still need to work out hahaha

As for me? Im trying not to stress out too much. Month of June will be interesting to say the least and im suppose to be on travel for another 2 weeks, but dear lord I hope not. If i have to eat anymore pizza or fast food with the men i travel with i may cry :( 

BUT today is a good day so far! Still working on the army stuff. I got to present my EOD paper I wrote at Johns Hopkins to some Army peeps and they seemed to enjoy the presentation. At least I can say my research is interesting to someone other than myself! 

June 28th I go home to NY....Id LOVE to be down an inch or 2 but we shall see. Not gonna stress about it tooo much.

B (730) - Grapefruit (1) and oatmeal (1 serving), pb and sugar free jelly 

S (1030) - Fiber 1 bar and apple 

L (130) -  Turkey Sandwich w/ sara lee bread (2), lettuce, and mustard + carrot sticks (packet) + pb (1 tsp) 

S (430) - Tuna fish sandwich (sara lee X2), 5 rice cakes (75 cal), pb, jelly (maybe 200 cal) 

D (730) - Cucumber salad w/ morning star veggie burger 

S (10) - 0 cal noodles (meh) and some rice cakes  Reason for the down? I wasnt hungry. I just ate to eat....Ill be better tomorrow. 

Exercise = Insanity (2) , Hour of cardio, arms and abs 

Progress as of today - 2.6 lbs lost so far, only 12.4 lbs to go!

S(630) - Protein shake w/ almond milk and pb w/ apple 

B (930) - Veggie burgers (2) w/ cut up cucumber 

L (1230) - Greek yogurt (2) w/ pp + pb 

S (330) - Apple and cheese stick 

D (630) - Spinach salad w/ baby corn and chicpeas 

Exercise = Hour of cardio + Arms and chest, Insanity (1), maybe some lunchtime running

 

Progress as of today - 2.2 lbs lost so far, only 7.8 lbs to go!

Sit upppps sit upsssss! I need to work on my sit ups!

Today im gonna strive to do them and increase the number. Goal is 70 in 2 mins. Right now, that is definitely not possible.

Anywho, I've been up...did my insanity for the day :) Now to get ready for the day! 

B (6) - Sara lee 45 cal bread, some protein powder (used as butter? lol didnt exactly work, but ran out of PB) and a banana

* Insanity - Cardio Resistance

S (9) - Almonds, greek yogurt, and cucumbers

L (12) - Butternut squash soup

S (230) - Edamame

S (430) - Apple and String cheese (1) 

D (6) - Fish sandwich (Maybe around 450 cal) 

* Gym = SIT UPS lol, arms, abs, and running

Update later!

TODAY i have a bunch of stuff to do! Dept. of Army photo today. Ha, should be a very serious photo....No smiling, business suit, hair back. Maybe ill post it later....

Missed the insanity workout yesterday but well figure it out....

B (7) - 3/4 cup of oatmeal, w/ tsp peanut butter powder and tsp of protein powder
S (10) - Apple (med size) and almonds (packet)

L (1) - HMM lettuce wrap w/ chicken (1 piece) and cucumbers (1) yumm :)

S (4) - Sweet Potato 

* Insanity - Plyo 

D (8) - Tuna and talapia sandwhich w/ lettuce and some oatmeal w/ pb and protein powder 

Progress as of today - 0 lbs lost so far, only 3.5 lbs to go!

SO! This morning i did a physical fitness test. My results:
2 mile: 12 mins (I had no idea I ran that fast. First mile I ran in 5.5 minutes!)

sit ups (2 mins) : 50 :/

Push ups (2 mins) : 74 whoo hooo (no knees!!! Like...military style push ups! who knew i had this in me. Thanks shaun T :) ) 

Needless to say, i need to do better for the sit ups....Well get there!

The sit ups are a special sit up routine. Instead of using my body to come down, i just need to flop back on the ground after each one. It hurts your head! Also, need to have your legs 90 degrees and not have to go all the way up....I was like "what the heck kind of sit ups are these!". Hands also on the back of your head and elbows extended....If they gave me a plank to do for 5 mins, i can do that.....200 crunches in 2 mins, no sweat. BUT sit ups are just difficult for me......

B (5) - Oatmeal, PB, Protein powder

S (830) - Apple and Almonds

WOW a 5.5 mile run... you ROCK!!! That is insanely amazing! The pushups are great too, you are going to rock this fitness test! You will get there on the sit ups!!

Started today on the right foot! Its getting nicer here so today i was able to go running outside for a bit! Still kinda sleepy, but hopefully some caffeine will take care of that!

* Morning 2 mile run (16:15)

B (7) - Oatmeal, peanut butter, and protein powder

S (9) - Apple and almonds

S  (11) - PB sammich

L (1230) - Greek yogurt, PB, Protein powder, some oats

S (230) - Carrot sticks and cheese stick

S (430) -Pre-workout snack (TBD)

* Gym = Hour of Cardio and weights

D (7) - Talapia and brocolli w/ a sweet potato

* Insanity= Fit day? Well see if i can do it!

S (9) - TBD

 

Progress as of today - 1.5 lbs lost so far, only 8.5 lbs to go!

 Hello all! I am back!

SO those that have fb have seen but those that havent, I've decided to put through my application for officer candidate school for the Army. Ive been struggling with this for about 2-3 years now....I think I even brought it up back in 2011? The reason? I want to be a role model for girls these days. Nothing against Miley Cyrus or Lindsay Lohan, but I want to send a postiive message, especially when our country needs it most. Why the Army? They have the best program for what I got my degree in lol. I'm sure as much as Zach hates it (marines vs army goes way back) i think hes really proud.

Anyway, the is application is almost complete BUT that also means I need to be on top of my game. These 2 past months have been TERRIBLE food and workout wise. After being sick, it kinda just went downhil....SO TODAY is the official Day 1 of forever lol.

Whats sad though is that the recruiter told me I need to lose 10 lbs in 2 months. Not because I'm "fat" but because I need to get my running time up and itll help. SO as much as I HATE to do it, I need to watch the weight,.....again. Crap.  Ill be careful. Yes, I will. I have been going to all of my therapy meetings and now know what to watch out for :) < UPDATE: The losing the weight number is kinda bothering me since im at an okay weight! I think what im gonna do it not worry too much. If it comes off, it comes off. If not, ill still end up running faster by practice! 

I REALLY need to go food shopping. Breakfast was kinda of meh lol

B (5) - Some cucumbers and celery, egg whites, string cheese

*G - 45 mins cardio

S (8) - Apple w/ almomds

S (1030) - Cucumbers and String cheese

L (1230) - Edamame w/ tuna + string cheese

S (3) - Slice of toast w/ peanut butter

*G  - Hour of Cardio and Arms day! Also sit ups!

D (7) - Chicken, spaghetti squash, and veggies

Wow this is big news! Super exciting!! Being careful and getting your weight down in order to speed up your running makes sense... It stinks because you are already at a good weight, but I get it! How fast do you have to run?? What are the other fitness requirements?

I know. I can run right now around 8 min mile. Id "like" to get around a 7 before they make a decision if its a nay or yay. tough stuff!

I did see your plans on FB - good for you. I believe you will make it!!! About the recruiter's comment - do you think that if you do what you need to do to get your speed up your body will simply do what is appropriate by losing or maintaining it's weight? Fuel for energy and I'll bet your speed will come and you can see what your body does. That sounds like an arbitrary number that recruiter was throwing out there. Curiously was recruiter male or female?

male. I doubt ill actually do the 10 lbs too....Losing the 10 lbs was a "suggestion". I told him id give it a shot, but im focusing more on the running time going down and i could give a hoot about the weight # lol.

MKAY! SO lots to update.

So those who know I've been doing Insanity....this is month 2! Its hecka hard! I've decided that since the past 2 weeks I have been feeling less than stellar....I'm gonna repeat month 1. I'm not ready to go straight into month 2. Doesn't hurt to be prepared right? I just don't wanna hurt myself.

I have to go to the Army Recruiter tomorrow. Why? Ha because now that I work for the Army, I've learned that "when you work for the Army, you deal with the Army needs." SO, the Army found out I know a bunch of "valuable" languages and now the Army wants to talk to me lol. Since I work for the Army, I can't say no........Bahaha Soldier married to a Marine. There have been worse things. BUT thats for tomorrow...Also, tomorrow I go to the dentist...Lovely,....

Had a big breakfast, so gonna eat small things throughout the day :)

B (530) - Oatmeal w/ pb and protein powder

S (830) - Sweet Potato

L (11) - Veggies w/ veggie burger (2)

S (130) - Edamame  + Canned tuna

S (4) - Slice toast + almond butter

* Gym = Leg day + Cardio

* Plyometric Insanity

D (7) - Talapia and veggies :)

* Nightime dancing :)

Awesome job on insanity!!! Month 2 was SO much longer and more difficult, but the adrenaline rush from it is so WORTH IT!!!! But I think you have the right idea working your way there since you've been feeling crappy.

So how many languages do you know?

I know 7 if you cant pig latin LOL. English, Spanish, Hebrew, Arabic, German, and latin. Oh and some yiddish that was thrown around in the house. For some odd reason I could always pick up languages super easily...Ha, maybe one day it will be useful!

I think repeating month one is a good plan! In the end you will be better off because of it!!! That is super impressive on the languages-I'm the opposite of you, many things come easily to me school wise, but I struggled my butt off with high school spanish, lol... Languages and I are not friends!

Okay so you have made up your mind to re do Month 1 but I would suggest to at least try all of the classes first..In month 2 Shaun actually encourages to take breaks and just keep in mind that even during the "warm-up"(I quote this because this is a workout for alot of people) Shaun encourages to pace yourself and stay within your skill level and trust alot of the cast drop like flies and takes LOTS of breaks, hell Shaun T does too!! LOL I modify alot of the jumps because my knees just won't allow me to

BTW did you get the bonus tutorial video on all the moves? If so practice, practice, practice whenever you can.. I support ya with your decision just so you know you can always message me if you need pointers on some of the moves...Love ya!!

Hooray! I am healed! My tummy and me are working together finally. No sickness and I can go back to working out!

Sadly, I have backtracked a whole bunch....Probably a good month of so...but, i know what needs to be done, so Ill be back eventually to wear I was once before...

Our re-enlistment decision is coming up and poor zach is haunted by this. He has an option to stay in as a tank crewman or....get out and figure out from there. His problem is he doesnt know what he wants to do when he gets out which is scary......Well figure it out, its just terrifying lol.

Plan is to eat healthy and workout and not get off track too much! 

B (8) - Egg sandwich w/ 2 wraps and fiber1 bar (around 300) 

S (11) - Cucumbers and bean patty

L (1) - Spaghetti squash and veggie patty

S (3) - Banana and greek yogurt + carrots

* Uppers and hour of cardio

D (7) - Left over spaghetti squash and talapia

* Max Cardio Interval

S (10) - Protein Powder + water
