Good Morning I survived Vertical Plyo!! Not saying it was easy, far from it but not as bad as I expected..The warmup itself was a workout and as Shaun yells "This is not Insanity, you are a graduate, if you are beat from the warmup, you might as well turn this off and do a relief class"  I'm thinking OKAY focus and GO..I had to rewind on a few moves since there was not much demo for the moves, it was more like a do as I do.. The Agility ladder was utilized in this workout alot as well as upper and lower resistance bands..I didn't use the lower one but I broke the upper one during the workout...LOL I just kept going and still got a decent pump from the broken band.. I was super careful not to step on the rungs so I wouldn't have to drop and give him 20 pushups..  I surprisingly did pretty good with the "Pogo Vert Leap/knee tap" and there are other moves that I need to improve on coordinating gracefully.. All in all a killer non stop 40 minute workout..

Well I think the sweating has finally ceased so I am going to get prepped for work, chat with ya later, have a good one all

Hey back from yet another hot day.. I stopped off for a pre Bday drink with one of my patrons and added a Relief class to work out the kinks... I am super hungry so I am going to catch up with you girls and get some octane..Hope you all had a wonderful evening!!

During/post workout  L- glutamine

B- Almond Breeze Shake with whey protein and Casein, 1/2 banana, blueberries and strawberries

L- Jerk Chicken atop Spring mix, cherry tomatoes, light Italian..

S- LF Cottage Cheese.Cliff bar

S- Glass of Sauv Blanc

D- Lean boneless Pork Ribs.. Cucumber and Cherry Tomatoes in red wine vin and EVOO..Homemade mayoless potato salad.. 2 Glasses of Blackstone(red blend)

Morning!! wow vertical plyo sounds like a great workout!!

thenewMLE on 08/16/2012:
You are amazing! I didn't know those band would break, but leave it to V's brute strength and watch out!!! I would love to watch one of your workouts - bear in mind, I have never done a DVD workout AND I have NO rhythm - I mean ZERO!! Glad you got a good one in this morning. Have a great weekend as I am checking out for a few days to hit the coast. I'll be thinking of you as a have my splurge meal for the first time since January!!!

I was trying to visualize those moves! Crazy stuff, glad you enjoyed it.

Wow. Killer workout!! Have a great day, V!

biscottibody59 on 08/16/2012:
Haha--sounds like you're more than tearing up those workouts--good going!

sweetpea1977 on 08/16/2012:
Congrats on surviving! That class sounds hard as heck! I laughed about the Insanity comment. It sounds like he is saying that Insanity is for weaklings, lol.

grannyannie on 08/17/2012:
You're totally a machine, V!

RYC I've done a lot of cheating, eating out lately so I think that's to blame. I'll adjust my calories upward if I feel I've not got enough energy and am just 'really hungry'. I'm already thinking about maintenance calories and will up them 100 a day a time until I get it right.

Good Morning Ladies This morning's class was "Back To Core" Other than the jumping jack variations in the warmup, there were no other high impact moves but man it is a good class for strenghtening the  muscles in the lats..My back feels really good, I got a nice crack from the side twist arm pulse move..There were a few moves that def need improvement on, like the Reverse plank alternating knee move(my triceps are on fire)  as well as the one leg tricep dip to plank rotation, back to dip..

Well I better keep it moving so I can get prepped for work, chat with ya later..Have a good day all

Hey all! Another hot day on the beach, a little busier(if you would call it that) so thankful for that..Wanting to put in extra work on my abs, I decided to check out a preview of what to expect in my "Vertical Plyo" class tomorrow so I wouldn't over do it.. I went for the 16 minute Cardio Abs class..The word that came up alot in the preview was MONSTER and FRIED..LOL This should be good so stay tuned in the morning..Checking in with you lovelies, get some fuel and hit the hay early to face "The MONSTER"

Good Morning Ladies Completed my first Agility and Speed class and WOW..  Shaun is strictly business in this class, no breaks after the stretch...I knew this one would be the toughest one since the "Agility Ladder" is used in almost every exercise.. He also makes you drop down and do push ups if you hit the rungs, which was cool with me so I could actually watch everyone's form.. Shaun T. encourages staying within your personal fitness level, instead of overdoing it.. This class is scheduled alot in the program and I am cool with that since I need to improve on my footwork and eye coodination.. This is def going to get me ready for my next round of "Insanity"

Well I better get ready for work.. BOOOO! LOL  Have a great day all, chat with ya later

Back from an extremely hot first day back at work..Super slow and pretty boring..We did have a nice "Pushup Clinic" and man was it a sick one..LOL It all started as I was telling my barback/ fellow Shaun T fanantic(who is really fit) about the plank shoulder taps.. So my fellow coworker T walks pass and says something to the effect of me not knowing about PUSHUPS??? He said "I am sure it is easy when you are doing girly ones" Oh Helz to the NO...LOL  I love my boy T and I know he was just kidding but I had to school him.. So my barback says lets have a showdown and winks at me(cause he KNOWS)  We go inside to the hallway and I showed my barback the shoulder taps and he does them along with me...THEN I told  T "ladies first for the pushup challenge(to him) He does 6 pushups, chest not even close to the ground and was pretty pleased about it and says "your turn"

I did 15 standard, 5 pushup jacks and and just to show him how a "girl" gets down, I did 5 pushup, one arm side balance ones..LOL  I stood up and told him " Did ya take notes?" ( i think his jaw is still sitting in the hallway) The hallway is a clear view to the manager's office and the "M O D" starts yelling up to us "What the hell are you guys doing?".. Uh OH..  I said "I am schooling this Biatch on pushups" I thought we were in trouble as Anthony(manager) comes up the stairs and does a few pushups too...Hahahahaha Whewwww!

Needless to say that was our highlight of the day and I added  a Relief class..Out of all the recovery/stretch/yogaish classes of Shaun's this one by far is the BEST..He really slows it down so you can get the most out if the stretches which make me happy!  Well I am off to catch up with you all and get some fuel

During/post workout   L-Glutamine

B- Almond Breeze shake with whey protein, 1/2 banana, blueberries and strawberries

L- Lean Homemade Turkey Patty with portabella, cheddarjack and spicy mustard..Potato Salad.. Small Grapefruit

S- Kashi fire roated crackers..1 buffalo shrimp

D- Jerk Chicken..Cucumbers, cherry Tomatoes in red wine vin, kalamata olives, parmesean and oregano splash of EVOO... 2 Glasses of Menage a Trois(red)

1 1/2 gallons of water...Casein Shake(pre bedtime)

Progress as of today - 93 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!

thenewMLE on 08/14/2012:
Have a great day!! Are you still in tourist season, or has school kicked in yet?

hollybelle on 08/14/2012:
Oh yes, I am aware that the Martini's at Bonefish are good. I have been known to drink one once in awhile. I may/may not tonight depends on tummy conditions and my mood. :o) Say hello to Shaun T for me!!!

grannyannie on 08/14/2012:
Awesome workout! Have a fantastic day, V! :-)

sweetpea1977 on 08/14/2012:
Im not good with the ladder and those small little hurdles that football players use during practice. Im so scared of tripping and falling, lol. I have a good reason though since I've: broke my left arm twice because of falling, twisted my ankles falling down stairs, fell on my face while running up the stairs at a stadium, and almost cutting my toe off because of tripping over my own feet. :)

Have a good day!

biscottibody59 on 08/14/2012:
Glad you're enjoying your workouts!

liza36 on 08/14/2012:
Nice to have new workouts to challenge you. Sounds like Shaun T is the man!

Speaking of men, thank you so much for your advice yesterday. I need to redirect my focus and energy, and it's so not worth it on a friend who is draining the life out of me. Your words were spot on, and I truly appreciate it!

thenewmle on 08/14/2012:
I'm waiting for the taco shell form to hit Bed Bath and Beyond because I will use my multi grain Azteca shells, mist them with olive oil and make my multi grain taco bowl. But you could take the smaller soft wheat tortillas, spray lightly with oil and drape them over something taller like a muffin pan on its side and make your own individual shells. I wish I was coming down that far too because I would love to meet you and I could bring you the red beans! I am going to get a prepaid postal box and stuff it with beans for you when I get back. So far, the better deal seems to be Walmart at 1.84 per pound on one pound bag. Taco salad was great tonight. I'm trying to take it easy because I have been light headed all day. But I rode anyway! Have a good evening!

thenewmle on 08/14/2012:
Love the push up face off!!!! Take down AND smack down! Thank you for doing that in honor of all us girls! ( Unfortunatly I can't even do a girls one!)

hollybelle on 08/14/2012:
Well, you showed those guys!!! Woo-Hoo! I liked that you made T put his muscle where his mouth is! I'll bet he thought he was going to "show" you. Joke is on him now! The push ups may not be "girly" but the power is - girl-power!

Good Morning Ladies Day 1 of Asylum started out a bit rocky..My uber sensitive laptop decided it didn't like my Speed and Agility class and refused to play it..Unfortunately the slightest scratch/ dirt, it will not cooperate..After numerous times of polishing the DVD, it just wouldn't play..It works on my DVD player that is connected to my TV in the living room, but alas there is no room to move freely about there..I swapped it out for tomorrow's Strength class so all is well..

Thoughts on this class other than Shaun T is indeed a mad man, it totally rocks..You can use weights or bands( I used weights) he does progressive sets of workouts and of course it has lots of pushups..LOL There is one move that starts out with bicep curl/squat to standing, back to squat/plank/ pushups/spider/plank run all while griping the weights..By the end of it my hands were so wet and slippery.. Time to get some gloves..But first I have to find a cheapie DVD player TODAY..The cheaper solution would be to attach my DVD player to the tv in my gym but there are so many wires attached (cable box, ect) and I am technically challenged...Hahahaha

Well I better get going so I can get all my needful things along with the laundry.. Have a happy Healthy Monday all

Hey girls!! Back from my day.. I bought a portable DVD player..Unexpected expense but I would rather think of it as an investment/plan B.. Can't wait to do the class I was supposed to do today using the "Agility Ladder" it' on like Donkey Kong tomorrow morning..LOL!!

Got all my meals made/prepped for the week..I made Umpqua's famous " Mayoless Potato Salad" and it looks really yummo!!  It was supposed to accompany my lunches for the week but I have to try a little with dinner tonight..

Well I am off to read some diaries, get some fuel and check out "Stars Earns Stripes" (on NBC) Go Team Dolvett!!

During/post workout-  L-Glutamine

B- Almond breeze shake with whey protein, 1/2 banana, blueberries and strawberries

L- Hodgepodge of Cottage cheese, 1 pear, 1 smoked hot wing, Kashi Fire Roasted Veggie Crackers

D- Lean Boneless Pork Ribs in Terryaki marinade..Steamed Broccoli and Cauliflower.. Mayoless Potato Salad.. 2 glasses of Apothic (red blend)

1 1/2 gallons of water..Casein Shake(pre bedtime)

Hey V! Yes, I had a busy weekend! In addition to all that is listed I went out Friday night with my parents and brother with half of our kids and then dropped my daughter off in the French Quarter to meet up with her boyfriend who came in town for a lawyers/intern dinner. Then Saturday morning a dropped them off in nearly the same spot for the Red Dress run. Thousands of girls and guys dressed in red dresses, banded for a pub crawl! And after most of my shopping, I went back down there again to pick them up! They don't drink and drive and his mom was diagnosed the night before with shingles so I had the responsibility of all their transportation this weekend! Sorry about your DVD player. Girl, I think you just wore that thing out!!! And do I understand about the wires! My hubby is in charge of all the inputs and outputs on our TV. Last year my oldest standard poodle was starting with what I think was some sort of dementia, because she would squeeze herself in what couldn't even be considered an opening, go behind the tv and unplug ALL the periphial devices!! This would take him over an hour to replug all the accessories. Would you believe this went on everyday for over a month?? Anyway, the point is, I know that is a lot of wire spaghetti involved with electronics. Good Luck!

grannyannie on 08/13/2012:
Love the sound of 'Asylum, Day 1'. LOL! I'm technically challenged as well. Have to yell for help from the hubby. Have a great day, V!

I love bagpipes as well. Keep an eye on your mailbox the next couple of weeks. :-)

glycrina on 08/13/2012:
Hey V: I went to the webisite for Urban Detox. I will have to look for it. I don't go to whole foods cause it's super far from me. My place for organics and stuff is Wegman's so I will look there! The bottom line is that I drink too much. I know it. All my friends are big drinkers and I am married to an Irish Italian whose family loves me because I can go one for one with them!!

Good Evening ladies  I had a well needed day of R n R after being jolted out of a really decent slumber with some serious cramping due to TOM around 3 am this morning Not one to take meds, I had no other choice and I really didn't care if i slept the entire day away(which is what usually happens when I take meds) as long as the pain went away.. I finally drifted back to sleep close to 5 and woke up feeling a heck of alot better.. I completed an Athletic Performance Assessment, did my usual trip to the store and tried to shake off the ickiness that only TOM can bring..I watched movies and napped.. Well I am off to get some fuel, I am finally getting my appetite back, hope you all had a wonderful weekend

Good Morning Ladies Well the Olympics got me again, this time it was the Women's Relay..So as I jumped up and down cheering as USA not only took the gold, but set a record with the fastest finish, far too fired up, I had to shut the TV off. I got in a good night's sleep, so i could crush my final "Fit Test" for Insanity. I am pleased with the results and when I start up round 2 in a month or so. hopefully Asylum will help me beat my personal best!

I am super stoked that this is my last shift for the week, not that I have big plans, I just look forward to a little down time since the past 2 weekends I really didn't have much. Have a great weekend lovelies

Hi V: You deserve a break and I hope you enjoy your upcoming one. The weather here has been stormy in the afternoon lately (having one right now). Salinger is coming along. We give him two meds three times a day and he is responding. He is such a sweet cat so we will do what we have to do to help him feel better (thanks for asking). RYC don't know about the ratio of single guys! I'm afraid you'd have to be an illegal immigrant though as visas are extremely difficult to get! LOL. But pubs are a great place to work under the table.

Hey Girl! I read your FB post last night about mixing up the carbs and the calories to confuse your metabolism and I think that might have some merit. I seem to stick pretty hard to a routine so I need to think more about not eating the same breakfast and lunch for a week straight. I went back to the steel cut oats this morning and I will see how that works. I squeezed in a 15 mile ride last night and raced the storm home, only to be 2 blocks short! Well it actually felt good to get soaking wet. Have a great weekend!

Good Morning Ladies Just finished my Core Cardio and Balance class and feeling pretty pumped.Hoping to have another good day at work..The temps are slightly lower than yesterday at this time(a cool 80, LOL) and expected to be in the 90's.. Better get going so I will chat with you all later. have a good one

Hey Ladies..Hot as the seventh circle today and we still had brave souls that dared to hang out with us.. We still did decent since my partner in crime today has the gift of gab just like V..

I took a quick power down before completing the last 38 minutes of YogaX Class ending just in time to see GB's Nicole Adams take the gold medal in Boxing..Keeping it short so I can catch up with you all, get some fuel and take in a little of the games this evening..Hoping you all had a stellar day!

Did you try the alarm clock thing? Your snooze setup makes sense, John got me hooked on snoozing and I used to build it into my schedule too :) Hope you have a good one and enjoy your cooler temps!

grannyannie on 08/09/2012:
RYC: LOL, V. I don't think you'd like the chilly, damp weather here after living in Florida! But lots of pubs and our gym is small but lots of classes. Some people do their own classes and rent a room in one of the halls. Come on over!

Umpqua on 08/09/2012:
Bummer that it was so hot today anyway. I'm sure it will be easier to get up without the snoozes once the Olympics are over ;) RYC, I did Fat Burner Challenge today per your suggestion and then tried to follow it with Cardio Abs. After about 2 minutes I realized I was in no shape to do that as well. I did Extreme Abs instead and boy am I feeling it! Cardio Abs will be have to be done as a standalone class or maybe on a day when I go walking or swimming - it's brutal!

Umpqua on 08/09/2012:
Nope, I just assumed the whole class was like that. Next time I will fast forward!

Good Morning Ladies Although I still stayed up far too late last night tuning in to gymnastics and track, I still had a decent night's sleep and hit the snooze button far too many times..LOL Good thing that Core Cardio and Balance is only 38 minutes. I have 4 days to break this habitual offense since most of the Asylum classes are at least 45 minutes and have to include the sweat factor/cooling off time as well..

It is already 82 degrees here and I am hoping for a nice sea breeze(not the drink, LOL)  otherwise it will be a miserable repeat of yesterday's weather and it's my turn to stay later..Well I better get going so I can prep for my day, chat with ya later, have a good one

Got that sea breeze that I was hoping for(not the drink, LOL) Thankful because it was alot busier than it has been in weeks as far as during the week goes..I decided to add a Cardio Abs class in the mix tonight for extra credit for "Project Ab Mayhem"  Well i am off to see how you all are , get some fuel and HOPE to be in bed at a decent hour, lots of events I want to check out.. What is up with Randy Travis' Crash/ Naked DWI/ threatning police arrest? WT?? He is sporting a really nice shiner in his mug shot... On that note, I bid ya a good evening!

B- Almond Breeze shake with whey protein, 1/3 banana, blueberries and strawberries

L- Quiche..Green Beans..Grapefruit

Umpqua on 08/08/2012:

Thanks for the vid--it was a little choppy and I didn't get to watch it all. I'll try it again later. I'll mess with the hd quality--sometimes that works well.

All this "breeze" talk--gotta catch it when you can I guess.

Hope you've gotten a few more customers today!

Maria7 on 08/08/2012:
Have you been getting much rain over there in Florida? :-)

thenewmle on 08/08/2012:
I sure did make the lomein! The cold noodle salad was done with soba noodles ( buckwheat) and the lomein was true lomein noodles with chicken marinated in soy, ginger, sesame oil, and rice wine vinegar with crushed red pepper. I used coconut oil and stir fried garlic until fragrant and then woked the chicken until almost cooked. Removed it and added straw mushrooms, baby corn and book choy to sesame oil. Stir fried for about a minute and the added the chicken back in. After stirring for awhile I added the al dente lo mien noodles and bean threads (glass noodle) and then gradually added my sauce which is chicken broth, oyster sauce, and siracha. The siracha gave it a nice heat kick! We topped it with crushed peanuts and toasted sesame seeds. It was nice, but I'm trying to convince myself that I'm satisfied so I don't go get the wine and chocolate. Daughter is making brownies. This is killing me!

Good Morning Ladies  I had to force myself to shut off the TV so I wouldn't be up late watching the Olympics, Besides it alot more exciting to hear Biscotti's daily recaps..LOL I did a Core Cardio and balance class this morning, perfect start to the day.. As usual Tuesday rolled around too soon and I am hoping that the day is quick, painless and fruitful.. Better keep it moving, chat with you all later, have a stellar day all

Brutally hot, brutally slow day.. It is just that time of the year where no one wants to sit outside, even most tourists.. It was my turn to leave early and I was more than happy to do so..I was so wiped, I got in a little nap before a little stretching..There are alot of events that I would really love to check out on the Olympics tonight so I am hoping that the events  come on early this evening..Probably Not..LOL Off to see how your day went and get some fuel!

B- Almond Breeze shake with whey protein, 1/3 banana, blueberries and strawberries

L- Quiche, green beans.. Fresh cut fruit

S- SP Fries.. few bites of Farm Raised Catfish

D- Pan Seared Ahi Tuna with chili/ginger rub with wasabi and low sodium soy sauce..Steamed Cauliflower..Cucumber and Cherry Tomatoes in Red wine Vin, Oregano and EVOO.. 2 Glasses of Red Blend

Gallon of water..Casein shake(pre bedtime)

Progress as of today - 93 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!

Hope you have a great day! I'm enjoying the Olympics! GB is doing great!! But I'm happy when the US wins as well. :-)

Hope you've had a good day there!

RYC: I do remember that skit:-) Thinking about this reminds me of the all male ballet company--Trockadero Ballet. They dance en point like women and in full makeup and tutus in case you're not familiar with them. There is a big element of comedy as well. I think that Nightline group was trying to be as legit as possible so when the time comes they could actually compete. I'd watch it at any rate:-)

Nicole Wallace! She better leave our Bobby alone! Was this the one where she was with the Asian girl and killed her or the university professor who turned on her when Bobby exposed her? I watched the one where the dad from Growing Pains killed the guy to get the girl, but it didn't work LOL!

P.S. Sorry the heat is so brutal out there. We have cooled down a little - it's still hot, though. Maybe it's trickle on down to FL before too long!
