"A successful person is one who can lay a
firm foundation with the bricks others have
thrown at him."
David Brinkley

Hey girlies!!!! I arrived at my folks safe warn and well...I must post yesterdays meals and get back to you with yesterday's excursions which promises to be a page turner so stay tuned I will be back shortly, Dad is taking mom shopping

I'm back!!! Dad has wisked mom away for a few and gave me a little wink as they departed he is so awesome!! Now I have a chance to tell you a little bit about fun filled evening Well after my adventureous ride from the airport wasn't bad at all....Since the only purpose of the "Orange Line" is trips to and from Downtown's Loop, to Midway the train was not packed at all....I even walked over to Harry Carray's because Michelle got stuck in traffic and I thought to myself that I might as well walk the rest of the way and between that walk and the walking at each airports I managed to get in at least 8 miles in

Well I was so excited to see Shell.. I think pregnant women are beautiful, glowing and for the most part i think the healthiest!!! Her little "budda belly" as her hubby called it was sooo cute..As we were having lunch David shows up... He dropped off a room card from the W where he booked the WoW suite for me and he told me he would pick me up for dinner at 8!!! That was  one of his "surprises" he had in store for me After lunch I went to check out the suite that had an amazing view and the rooms were off the chain, he even had a bottle of Goose waiting for me as well!!!! Super sweet of him...

So later on as he picked me up for dinner which was off the chain by the way, I was super impressed that he trimmed his beard (he is an uber hippy who is always compared as looking a bit like Jesus) pulled his long tresses back in a sleek ponytail and had a really nice suit on...Even more impressive is that he controlled his PDA(public display of affection) I was a little worried about that and I think PDA is right up there on my all time yuck factor, just like anyone older than teens spoting a hickey...Gross LOl Now there is nothing wrong with a peck or two but when people play "toncil hockey" in public is tacky and gross ...

So dinner was amazing posted below...I went into diet mode as the entree was accompanied with a pudding of sorts....I didn't voice my apprehension to him but I did have a biteful and that was it.....I  decided to once again pick and chose my battles and since I already had a few drinks I decided that the food would be simple, and stuck to the lowest carbs possible....After dinner we went back to the W and he arranged a massage for both of us I know he scored lotsa brownie points...I was like jello afterwards!!! We sat had a couple more cocktails and talked  into the wee hours of the morning,..What a nice way to start my vacation Let's just hope he doesn't start with the obsessive texts!!! LOL...Well girls my baby (youngest of the fam bro 24yrs) is here, so I am going to spend a little time with him!!

So awesome to be home!!!!! Much love to you all And really nice talking to you today Kat!!! Back in a bit....Yesterdays meals posted

B- 3 egg white omelet with onions and green peppers, 1 Washington apple

L- Starbucks!!!! Thanks bro...4 strips extra lean turkey bacon

D- 4 oz ground turkey taco meat, romaine, green pepper, onion, lf 4 blend Mex cueso, tomatoes,  apple cider vinegar

this is such a great post! i hope you have an awesome time there. ENJOY!

sweetpea1977 on 12/20/2010:
This is a great entry. Yes, relax and enjoy being with your family. I know you wont go overboard with the food, but please remember that its also ok to have a few treats in moderation especially on vacation in your old stomping grounds.

We leave Friday morning (Christmas Eve) after Ethan opens up a few gifts that will keep him busy in the car for the 8 hour drive (this is including potty breaks for both me and him, lol). I havent decided if Im bringing my laptop or not as car space will be limited and mostly devoted to the ton of gifts Ethan and baby will be receiving from the in-laws. I mean, Im so stressed about trunk space that hubby and I are going to SHARE a small rolling suitcase. lol

Love you!

Umpqua on 12/20/2010:
That dinner sounds awesome (except for the champagne, but I'd be doing it up with a bottle of red instead!) I agree with sweetpea, it's OK to enjoy a few treats in moderation. But you know that already! Great job with all that walking, it's so nice to walk after being cooped up on an airplane. Hope you have a wonderful day with your family!

loveray on 12/20/2010:
we saw 127 hours which was sooo awesome! black swan next.

tangalyn on 12/20/2010:
no V i dont make my own cornbread, what i have made right now is krusteaz, i was never really a cornbread person, but my bf started really liking the regular honey kind, n i realised i really did too, last time we was at walmart he seen the fat free one so we tried it, its not nearly as good as the regular honey but in my opinion for fat free, its not too bad. :)

moogy on 12/20/2010:
I am glad you have arrived safely. Already fighting off the men I see - it is a tough job, but someone has to do it. Enjoy your family V, I am sure that they are going to enjoy having you there for a little while. Love you XXX

just42day on 12/20/2010:
Sure, I believe you're behaving yourself. And I'm a 4'9" blonde who weighs 110...

Umpqua on 12/20/2010:
Good band, jam on! Hubby's listener- friendly band is in that vein, but a bit more classic rock. Your guys are really tight, they remind me a little of moe...and the Dead of course, but I don't know if I would call the Dead tight LOL. Hope you are having a Nanatastic evening!

hopingforhealth on 12/20/2010:
Whoa girl! You have got to bottle some of your pheremones and send them to me. It sounds like it was quite the night he had planned, and after you rejected the pick up too! Fancy fancy! I'm so glad you are home and having a great time with your family and friends. Your dad sounds as fabulous as you with that wink and getting you some time to yourself. :) I missed you while I was too busy to get in this weekend! I'm glad things are going well!

nita51 on 12/21/2010:
Hi Lady,,,Look at you!!!just having a good old time. You better behave and don't do anything I wouldn't do......YEAH RIGHT!!! Have fun girlie. Love you lots.

KathyBlue on 12/21/2010:
What a breathtaking view of the Signature Room hotel! :-) It makes me want to travel there and look around... at this point I am simply unable to imagine a city as huge as Chicago, New York, etc. etc... I'm used to small European cities, even capitals are not that huge, with skyscrapers and enormous buildings, with so much light pollution!!! Lovely! <3

KathyBlue on 12/21/2010:
err, Signature room restaurant! LOL

KathyBlue on 12/21/2010:
the WOW room is ... wow!!!! I can imagine you, with those flat screen TV's, doing PX90 right away!!! :-))))))))))

teensybikini on 12/21/2010:
That sounds amazing!!!!! Incredible. Major brownie points for him. You lucky duck!. Have a great time with your bro today! TTYL!

I hear you loud and clear girlie. In hindsight I can't lay blame on anybody but myself for my past failures. You and Moog were right on target regarding your response to my last post, but I think those arrows should have been shot at my hiney alone. :) I deserved it. I had a very successful weekend and DDD ( DD's Dude ) was very supportive. Everything went well. I guess I worried needlessly. Thank you for your heartfelt response. love you lots

Nita51 on 12/19/2010:
Oh, BTW Have a wonderful time in Chi town. Everybody is going to be in shock when they see the new and improved Diva V. You certainly deserve all the praise and compliments that you'll surely receive. xoxo

Good morning Lovely Divas It is so dark and rainy here so I didn't realize how late is getting to be...SO far it appears that my vacation is going to be starting slightly earlier than projected because it is coming down in buckets!!!!! No worries though because I always plan ahead and as an indepenent girlie who has learned a lesson or two about saving for a rainy day this will not affect me one bit!!! It also gives me a chance to get my lashes retouched this morning instead of later this eveningI am gonna try to get there when they open so Iam hoping Heidi does not have early appointments..

Okay girls this is going to shock all of you when I tell you that I have decided to reject both offers of airport pickups in Chicago from TJ and David!!! I am going to do the unthinkable...Take the El?????? LOL My friends all tease me about being a spoiled and pampered "trust fund kid"(totally not true by the way) I am and just to prove how wrong they are....I am sure I am going to regret this decision to make a point in winter's fury and also I am a little embarassed to say that even when I lived there I never took public transportation HOWEVER this is my chance to get out of my comfort zone...

David also has alot to do with my decision as well....His offers always come with a hitch/twist/hidden motives..I accepted his offer at first and when I told him "hey you know that our first stop has to be to see Shelly"(my preggers bf) and he said "AM I really going to have to share you with your friends"????? Really now...I can understand that he wants to spend time with me However he also knows that this might be my only chance to see my Wrigleyville girls and I don't think this is unreasonable especially since David and I are going out "somewhere special" for dinner Sun. evening...Come on everyone knows my girls come first! LOL...Besides you know how I hate neediness and the last thing I want is to get pawed all day by a love sick admirer..Yuck! lol

Well I am going to still have to go through the motions in preparation just in case my GM needs me elsewhere(please don't make me come in!!!) LOL Can you tell I am ready for the Games to begin??? Well girls I am hoping to talk to you in a few minutes...Keep your fingers crossed...Oh I will post definitely later but in re Umpqua's question my flight is at 6:20 am Sunday morning, but my car service is picking me up at 3:30am

Much love to you girlies!!

UPDATE!!!!! I AM officially on VACATION!!!!!!!!!YIPPEEEEEEEEE

Hey girlies I am back!!!! I am kinda glad I didn't have to work because I got a pretty good workout, lashes are done and I dropped off gifts to Val and Ambular(luckily they are roommates) and my adopted Florida family as well....Had I worked it probably would have taken me til midnight or so to accomplish all so now i can sit back and breathe a sigh of relief!!! WHEW

Well my food calculations this week were on point and I used all of my veggies, I have a few apples left so I hope they stay for a week...I even cut up an apple, celery and cucumber  with an ounce of hummous to take with me to the airport since I am going to be there so early...

I am hoping that later this evening/morning that I might get a little nap in but I had an obscene amount of coffee today Copious amounts, at every place I visited today so I am hoping that the everlasting effects will wear off by midnight??? LOL Well girls i have dinner in the oven and I am now off to see who's been naughty and who's been nice....I will start on Sunday's post before I leave....Have a wonderful weekend Ladies

B- Starbucks, 1/2 baked sweet potato, 4 strips extra lean turkey bacon

L- Black bean salad

D- 1/2 sweet baked potato, numeg cinnamon, 4 oz extra lean skinless smoked turkey sausage, 1/2 cup romaine, red pepper, red onions, 3 cucumber slices, balsamic vin, 2 lime wedges

1 gallon water 1 celsius

Sorry for the thesis today but I must mention that I had 3 envelopes of Sunshine and Sparkles from Loveray, Umpqua and Hoping for Health!!! What a refreshing treat in the mailbox all in one day Thank you so much!!!

Progress as of today: 93.9 lbs lost so far, only -1.9 lbs to go!

Umpqua on 12/18/2010:
Ah, I was off a day. You must be so excited! The mass transit sounds like a better option than getting pawed LOL. I wish we had better public transport around here, I'm all in favor of using it. I hope your rainy day is pleasant, whether you have to work or not!

Umpqua on 12/18/2010:
Sweet potatoes are wonderful and so good for you /end public service announcement. Because it is so high in carbs, I don't think you should eat just that for a meal. You're be starving 2 hours later! I bake sweet potato fries and probably end up eating 1/2 of a good sized one. I think you should have it with protein, maybe spread it out over 2 meals. Just my opinion - enjoy it!

Maria7 on 12/18/2010:
Congratulations on being on vacation. What does 'GM' stand for? How many foods does your Mom cook for Christmas dinner? :-)

loveray on 12/18/2010:
have a safe, wonderfully fabulous trip!! love to you and your family. we are going to see either Tron or Black Swan...not sure yet. xo

biscottibody59 on 12/18/2010:
My take on swt pot's--they are very filling. If you don't want to go to the trouble of turning on the oven, to me the microwave is just as good. I scrub it and cut off any end that looks yucky. I then take a knife and stab it over and over all around, wrap in a bit of paper towel--dampened with water. Usually cook for about 8 min on high and that's it. You just have to wait ahwile for it to cool off. You could always just roast/bake a bunch and keep refrigerated.

To me they stay with me--unlike a regular potato. Just a half of one is very satisfying. Good luck!

biscottibody59 on 12/18/2010:
Those damn pesky lovesick admirers . . . what would the world be like without them!

moogy on 12/18/2010:
Yippee, I don't do public transport either. Plus girls definitely come before boys. So you are right on both counts. Shame one of your girls can't pick you up. I don't like the idea of you being on public transport, in winter, by yourself. Yes, I know that you are independent, however.......... OK, now please don't have a go at me for my afternoon snack, it was a necessary evil, I wasn't doing well emotionally and it really helped to make me feel better, I don't know if it is the chemicals in the chocolate or just a physiological effect, but it works. Love you.

Maria7 on 12/18/2010:
You must be so excited! :-D (I love sweet potatoes!)

moogy on 12/18/2010:
Well, I take the easy route with the chocolate bark, I buy good quality dark and milk chocolate and melt it, then spread it on a tray and sprinkle the nuts and fruit over the top so that it stays visisable. So pretty for a gift. I suppose eating this puts me in the naughty camp, do I get something extra for that??????LOL

moogy on 12/18/2010:
Oh, and yes, that is all the goodies gone now. I thought I could resist that little packet until Christmas but I was feeling so bad yesterday, it really helped. I am however buying goodies for Christmas, although considerable fewer than planned after yesterday's attempt at eating just a bit of chocolate. So that is good..............but I am a bit sad now!! LOL

Umpqua on 12/18/2010:
I was wondering if you would bother to go to sleep tonight. I've done both before traveling, can't say if sleeping or not is better, sorry! I'm glad you liked the card, dude is serving up warm holiday wishes of course LOL! And I'll be frank with you (no pun intended in case there's a Frank involved somewhere, I'm sure there must be). Sappy guys gravitate toward you because everyone gravitates toward you. You are an energetic force to be reckoned with and there will be a certain percentage of sappy guys in the mix. There will be strong, independent ones too, just maybe not as many as the sappy dudes :P

Quote from hubby as I'm keying this (referring to part of our Amazon order that came in, Esselstyn wasn't included)..."I can't wait for Esselstyn to arrive so we can have more Esselstyn-based conversations." This was dripping in sarcasm of course.

Happy travels, my friend, and I hope you have a safe and fabulous holiday season with your family and friends!

Umpqua on 12/18/2010:
I can't imagine that view, I'm sure it will be spectacular and a great meal! I've been out of the dating scene since 1994 LOL (started dating hubby that summer). I'm talking out of my bottom haha! But I'm a romantic at heart and I think there are a great variety of strong people in the pool since everyone likes something different. Weeding them out is the chore, right? Go to bed then if this is your last chance for sleep LOL!!

just42day on 12/18/2010:
Congrats for officially being on vacation! Yeah! I am, too! Let the festivities begin! Ho ho ho!

just42day on 12/18/2010:
I've alerted Chicago's finest (cops) and they anxiously await your arrival.

just42day on 12/18/2010:
Your dad's part of CPD? I smell preferential treatment. Unfair! Unfair!

balloonlady on 12/18/2010:
Good for you, Have fun and do your own thing, You don't need someone clinging and sucking up your time.. I hate that..Thanks for the comments on my photo, and yep that is my weight, I have always just hid my weight very well..lol I typically get guessed at about 70 - 90 lbs less than I am, which is fine till you go to the doctor step on the scale and the skinny nurse starts at 150, then moves up to 200, then 250 and is like, WOW, wouldnt of guessed it....Skinny Bi**h.... Anyway, have a great vacay!

just42day on 12/18/2010:

Big money, no whammies! :)

Umpqua on 12/17/2010:
I've been keeping an eye open for part-time opportunities, but this is not a good time for job hunting, obviously. If I get something, I have to make enough to justify putting the boys in daycare full time. My good friend from NJ is a full-time editor and she works from home! One of her co-workers is going on an extended maternity leave from Feb or March through October, and they need someone to jump in and take over the work. I've been out of the job market for a few years so I'm nervous, but it's a great opportunity so I have to go for it. I'm trying not to get my hopes up though!

liza36 on 12/17/2010:
Can't believe you are packed already! I had hoped to start earlier this week, but will definitly want to be all packed by Saturday. I also have nothing in my fridge, and have tried to use up the little bit I had. Not eating out for dinner all week has helped - yay me for not eating out!

I envy your warm temps today. We actually had a snow storm yesterday. And I'll be going to more snow in Utah.

Have a great day, and awesome vaca!

selina on 12/17/2010:
V, how I wish we had temps like that around here.... even the cats don't want to go out!

KathyBlue on 12/17/2010:
Girlie, Just got the box... :-) I can't open it in front of my colleagues, can I? :) I'm soooo curious!!!!!!! :-)))) Geez, I'm having a rough day. Haven't had the chance to update my diary nor to write today's entry...

balloonlady on 12/17/2010:
Have a awesome day, and when ya wanna get painted ? : )

KathyBlue on 12/17/2010:
LOL, opened it!!! Loooove the stuff, you're so crazy!!! :D Can I imagine myself in these????! I CAN NOT! I can't wait to try them on, LOL!!!! :-DDDD The catalog is great, my colleagues (males) also liked it, for other reasons, LOL... We don't have this brand here, only their perfumes and lotions... gonna look up eBay! :D

biscottibody59 on 12/17/2010:
Hope you have a good one and your trip has no delays!

Yeah, the shoes are ridiculously comfy, though they don't look it, they're just about done in structurally.

I am obsessive about a few things--my feet and my running shoes are up there on that front:-)

moogy on 12/17/2010:
Sounds like a perfect day to me. I meant to tell you. My daughter's best friend was wearing these fabulous green shoes when she visited us last and my daughter knew I would love them and they came up to show them to me. The friend wears the same size as me so I tried them on. Fabuloso! Light green with a patterned wedge, she got them from a shop in Sydney and picked me a pair up yesterday and is visiting tonight, with my new shoes. I knew you would understand this little explosion of enthusiasm, I have a little shoe fetish, not as big as my handbag fetish but I am excited. I have a green skirt that will be perfect with them!!!!! Catch you later:) Oh and thanks for the advice with the hunger thing, I think I might be normal - who knew??????????

legcramps on 12/17/2010:
Hey V! I would totally pay for your ticket to come here and shovel snow for me... but my (?friend?acquaintance?) 'A' keeps doing it for me! That's a perfectly wicked ass bonus for living next to his employer, if you ask me ;) Anyways, I guess you'll just have to come to visit instead of to work!!! Just remember that the big white things covered in snow are called Igloos. Nah, kidding. I'm not THAT far north LOL.

Glad you're having a warm day today - hope it stays that way for awhile and you're able to take advantage of it and get outside for a bit. Have a good one today!

hopingforhealth on 12/17/2010:
Hey lady! I do a lot of baking... I do cookies instead of gifts for each household of my "local family" (not related, but they've adopted me), which is 4 tins, then also a ton for the office and for some girls I do a "wrapping" party/ night with every year. I am planning on river cookies, black and white cookies, almond cookies and (for the first time with the recipe) some chocolate truffles. If I have enough to fill all my tins, I'll probably cut the black and white cookies. They are noones special favorite, but they are the lowest maintenance and they're puffy, so they help fill containers. :)

I know what you mean... something about seeing a grown man cry shakes me so much. I can count on one hand the number of times I have seen it!

moogy on 12/17/2010:
Good escape V, well done. That could have turned ugly and I know that you are saving ugly for Chicago!! LOL

Maria7 on 12/17/2010:
Thank you. I specifically like your word 'bothered'...that I don't have to answer the phone if I don' want to be bothered...which I sure DON'T!!! (BUT FEEL SO GUILTY IF I DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE!!!) I actually 'ignored' it tonite when 2 family members called. Did I feel guilty??? Yep. Did I want to be MORE UPSET? Nope. Hey, isn't it about time for you to hop on the plane and head for 'home for the holidays'???? :-D

Maria7 on 12/17/2010:
How long will you be gone?

Umpqua on 12/17/2010:
Hubby and I talked this over, for the umpteenth time, last night. We think we've come up with a good strategy for dealing with the whole thing. I'll let you know if it works out! In our research of the season we came upon this lovely dude: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krampus. John is joking that we're going to do Krampus instead, I think Krampus is pretty frightening!

Your dinner sounds like a great sampling of foods, yummo. You must be so psyched for your trip, you leave early Monday? I don't want to miss your departure.

moogy on 12/17/2010:
Well, I tell you after near 10 years a bit of personal care would not go astray!!!!!!

devine1 on 12/18/2010:
Nita is very lucky to have you as her friend. Seeing her happy and reaching her goals, is my vision as well. Take Care

Hey girlies I'm home Good day today and i was on a solo shift so all $$ belonged to ME!!! LOl...I am not sure where Dan was no call,no show in fact I was the only one who noticed but if the managers are OBLIVIOUS so I kept quiet well not only because i didn't want to get him in trouble(which he seems to get into quite a bit there) also no need to call him cause I held it down like the champ that I am LOL(full of myself much?)

2 more days and VACATION!!! WHOOOHOOO!! My bag was packed Tuesday and Maria you would be proud!!!! I am usually one of the millions of women who feels compelled to take their entire wardrobe, even for a weekend trip! LOL Well this time i thought out every item I put in my suitcase...Am I really gonna wear this? I really don't need shorts and so on...With plans to bring clothes back with I even managed to save lots of room for them as well....I zipped up the suitcase and stuck post its all over it with reminders NOT to put another item in there!!!! LOL So far so good!!!

Well girls i have to get dinner in the oven soon so I will have a chance to read and respond to all!!!! My poor fridge is so empty, you know how I hate to throw out anything nor come back from vacay with suspect smells.....Saurkraut and Broccoli has themost absolute horrendus putrid smells if you leave them in the fridge too long (just so you know ladies) LOL Well Talk amogst yourselves

L- Spring mix and black bean salad, 4oz italian wedding soup

D- Fire roasted Red Pepper Chicken and Turkey sausage, sauteed collards, romaine, cucumber, red pepper, red onions, balsamic vin and lemon

Thanks V,,, Happy to make you proud.:) The best is yet to come!!! xoxo

Umpqua on 12/16/2010:
Ha, I hadn't seen that bit in ages. Showing my age, I don't watch SNL anymore. Oh and Madonna was pretty good - surprise!

hopingforhealth on 12/16/2010:
Yay! I bet you made lots of Christmas dollars, though Dan being a no call, no show is pretty lame. How is your GM doing? I know you said he had been struggling with the loss.

Ha ha. You packed early! You must be pumped :)

moogy on 12/16/2010:
Glad you made some bucks after having so many days off lately. Good job with your packing. Good job you have your winter wardrobe up north. I would chat to someone, but they are still out doing stuff, no one is around at the moment. Hope you enjoyed your dinner.:)

moogy on 12/16/2010:
It's nice having company for dinner V. It's always a huge dinner party at your place!!! LOL

moogy on 12/16/2010:
I have this picture of you hunkered down in a corner of your mom's house trying to do quick entries and responses, as you try to pretend that you are not spending more time with us than her. Naughty girl!! LOL

just42day on 12/16/2010:
Hey Miss Potty Mouth! I couldn't f**king agree w/you more!@%$^*!

moogy on 12/16/2010:
Sneaky, clever, workable, yes a good plan. Plus the pleasure of putting one over on a parent.! Now, you can't beat that! Ha!

Umpqua on 12/16/2010:
OK, well I graduated high school in 1990. I had bright orange hair (not really by choice but a result of box dyes) for my latter years. I didn't know anyone with the shocking colored hair back then :) I think it was a mid-late 90s thing? There were only a handful in college if I recall. Of course, I went to Catholic high school and got detention for wearing <shock> lace up Doc Martin style boots. That was our form of rebellion since we were in uniforms :P

I see plenty of kids around here with blue and pink hair, but not the parents. Please....I'll try to be nice here. Fashion is pretty much non-existent in these parts, at least for anyone over college age. New Haven isn't some huge city, but people were updated and neat in their style for the most part. You didn't see people walking around downtown in sweat pants unless they were jogging or walking a dog. That would be the norm around here, at dinner, and everywhere else. I've said too much....blue hair on parent wouldn't compute. Maybe I should do it to see if anyone's head explodes!

Umpqua on 12/16/2010:
I will just add that there are so many positives to living here that I can overlook the sweat pants and the absence of certain types of culture, for now anyway. Almost everyone is friendly, the pace is slower and calmer than the more affluent parts of my state, priorities are different in general. There's your trade-off.

Unplug all small appliances! Turn off the taps! Your post-it notes are funny. I have to make lists, same thing really. If it's not on the list, it probably won't get done.

moogy on 12/16/2010:
It sounds like she and I have a lot of similarities. I think that if she is not computer savvy she would need someone around to help with a laptop or any computer. I quite often 'get suck' and need my daughter to rescue me/ help me navigate etc. I think she might really enjoy finding sites that interest her. She may even (with a bit of help) find a group she could become part of. It is a big leap, if she were to be shown the possiblities, she could Skyp with you etc. I love my laptop and because I have a very small life, like your mom, I find it a valuable outlet for me. Can you borrow one for her or if she doesn't like one you buy after awhile, pass it on to someone who needs one. I would give it a go, but be prepared to sit for hours to help her learn how to use it. Set everything up for her. Anthing you take for granted, like setting up a home page, mail, favourites, searching etc. you need to make sure she is really sure she knows how to do it. Hope that helps.:)

Maria7 on 12/16/2010:
Sounds like you did a good job in your packing. :-D

Umpqua on 12/16/2010:
OK, you must visualize an apartment that is not a fiery inferno! That is my sage advice for you. I'm really excited that you get to make the trip home. It sounds like such a good time, and you certainly deserve it!

just42day on 12/17/2010:
The baked goods which required shipping were shipped and actually arrived yesterday. My Calif friend, who received them, called munching away and yelling at me for doing it. Sent some chex mix to her & her sons. She loves it but always hates when I do it because she can't stop eating the stuff. Told her I did more for her sons than her so I instructed her sons to keep it away from her. She then yelled at her sons for listening to me. LOL. Unfortunately, I won't be seeing her. Friends from IN,however, will be in town after xmas so I'll be seeing them. Thanks f*(&%@!#ing so much for asking. :) I know you're exciting about your upcoming trip to CHI and hope you and your brother behave. Jail is no place to spend the holidays as people are short of bail money this time of year. :)

(Low Carb)
Weight: 133.1

Good morning lovely ladies!!!! I hope all you girlies here are staying warm where ever you are!!! I am sure that you guys have far worse weather than I HOWEVER our artic chill is officially a record breaker At 35 degrees it is not likely that I will work today Thank God temps will be in the 60's Thurs-Sat and then it really doesn't matter cause I'm AUDI Hey if I am going to be cold and not working I might as well be at home and be mom's little flunky/gift wrapper/grocery shopper/assistant chef....Not sure what's on the agenda for me today but I see Starbucks in the very near future.....Well it is off to check in with my girls to see what's going on in your world....One

Hello ladies!!! My adventures to Starbucks was short but sweet....Since it was extra cold the patio was not an option and the inside is always packed, I brought my paper and Delicious Java home for a oh so ho hum day Until Satan's Spawn himself(my big brother called) Now if you think I am a wild one alone, it's extra trouble when he is around!!! We have been best pals since being adults, he is so not into playing rough sports so as kids we had very little common ground,so it is nice to have at least one of them that doesn't think I am a little...well..different, strange, all around just kinda out there...LOL I come from a family where status means everything and they are all kinda snobby but that doesn't bother me, at least they have stopped goading me into professions that I  abhorred!! SO we have a Wendsday shopping date followed by afternoon Martinis at Nana's!!!! Yayyyyy  free clothes(he is single and well off so he usually buys me whatever i want since I am his favorite) And Nanatinis, life couldn't be sweeter!!!! We have mapped out a strategy not to get in hot water this time...You guys will be the first to know..

I hope everyone had a wonderful aftenoon i will be back shortly after my workout

Back girlies!!! Well tonight was the last night of  working out with Rich, it's off to seve our fine country for that one (27th he ships out)! later dog, I will miss him!! Well it is off to read some diaries and Umpqua asked how many siblings in the fam well there is 4 boys and 2 girls and I am number 4 in the grand pecking order...Have a wonderful night

B-Starbucks, 1 pear 2 wedges lc lght

L- Black bean salad

Progress as of today: 93.9 lbs lost so far, only -1.9 lbs to go!

just42day on 12/15/2010:
Yipes -- I've missed your recent weigh ins. Look at you! Can you still see yourself or have you completely disappeared? 93.9 lbs lost! Amazing! Awesome! Fantabulous! Incredible! Inspiring! Unfreakin'believable but sooooo well deserved! I am soooo happy for you! And now YOU have a freakin' great day! :)

just42day on 12/15/2010:
Based on your incredible weight loss, I hope this doesn't mean that the Sock Puppet show will be closing and be replaced by Peds Puppets..... :)

KathyBlue on 12/15/2010:
Alligator??? :) LOL.. Now I'm puzzled. LOL. No, the thing is, when I gave you my address, I gave it for postcards and they do fit in the mailbox at home, so I gave you my home address. :) What happens is, the stupid post office near home is totally out of my trajectory and its open hours - surprisingly - are just equal to my work's, so... crap. My lunchtime is not enough to get there, so what I do is, they have this nice service of forwarding mails, they ask like 2-3 dollars for this additional shipping and I can get them to my workplace, or in this case, to the nearest post office. This is what I do! :) It takes an additional day though, but it's the fastest way! I should have given you my work address instead, I knooooow! For your pack: I had to fill a form yes, but only to state what the pack contained and the value of it (because over 60$ taxes have to be paid, pff... if we wouldn't pay enough taxes already for everything...)... no number was given to me, nothing, not a receipt... :-o

liza36 on 12/15/2010:
Thanks for your valuable suggestions! I'm traveling to Utah, and have a layover in Minneapolis. Both areas are getting snow, so I just hope that I don't get stuck somewhere. I do plan to take a sandwich or granola bar and a piece of fruit with me. I hate airport food - it's too expensive, and not a lot of healthy options. Safe travels yourself!

getmebackto150 on 12/15/2010:
hope you have a great day! It was great chatting w/ ou last night... Can't wait to hear all about your trip next week:)

Umpqua on 12/15/2010:
Prevent and Reverse is officially ordered and I can't wait to check out the recipes. Hubby may not realize it, but I've cut WAY back on our meat intake in general. There's no way he will go vegan unless he's diagnosed with some sort of blockage (meat and potatoes Irishman at heart despite all the improvements he's made to his diet over the years). But I'm hoping I can learn a few things from the book to cut back on fats even more than we already do.

Stay warm (it's 16 here this am) and have a good one!

Maria7 on 12/15/2010:
You may be at Starbucks now, hehehe! Enjoy that coffee! (It's too strong for this little girl.) :-D

sweetpea1977 on 12/15/2010:
Wow, thats cold for St. P! Its 28 degrees right now in metro Atlanta and I think our high will be 35. Fun!

loveray on 12/15/2010:
ive only been around 3 years, but we are so small that everyone here is a close friend. it is going to be sad for me, at least, not sure about the others:) thanks again for your sweet words. it really helps to have people who believe in you and understand where you are coming from when others may be angry with your decisions. you are amazing! xo

KathyBlue on 12/15/2010:
You must be super-excited by now, counting the days :D How's the weather in Chicago city??? :)

KathyBlue on 12/15/2010:
GEEEZ, don't tell me that! :D I'm feeling that already... We finally bought a heater for the apartment!!! After 4 years... LOL

sweetpea1977 on 12/15/2010:
I asked Ethan if he liked my hair last night and he said no. I asked him again this morning and he said no, lol. However, hubby loves it. :-)

moogy on 12/15/2010:
Another day when you are fancy free and looking for something to do. I agree you would be better of at your mom's. I hope you found something useful/interesting/cheap/distracting to do for the day. Love you. Catch you later.:)

balloonlady on 12/15/2010:
Enjoy the starbucks.. As cold as it is here it sure sounds good!

legcramps on 12/15/2010:
Stay warm yourself!!! Last night we had freezing rain and MORE snow... i'm sure you'd love the way it looks outside my window, all frosty and snowy and foggy and such. We don't need to spray frosting on our windows for Christmas this year!!! Have a great day today V :)

nita51 on 12/15/2010:
Wow V, ONLY 1.9 pounds to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You and Kathy are the GREATEST! Just wanted to acknowledge that today. So proud of my two Sheros. Love ya girl.

moogy on 12/15/2010:
You need to let Nita know you are below goal, she will be even more excited!!! My link kept breaking when I tried to see your brother's photo. Nuts!! What is it with us and photo's - other people make it look so easy!! I can feel the excitment in your writing, what day are you leaving for home?

Umpqua on 12/15/2010:
Nanatinis, you are cracking me up! How many siblings do you have? I'm an only child, which was why I had 2 kids. I always wanted a sibling! I take it there have been no Pat Bateman sitings recently? I've seen Christian Bale making the press rounds for The Fighter with Marky Mark. I'll be seeing that for sure!

I realized I never answered you about the movies from last night. I haven't seen any other Zombie projects but they are in my queue. I also want to see that Dee Snyder movie (is it Strangeland or something like that?) I think that's already in my queue too. I've been watching Indie comedies haha, horror has taken a backseat. I have Milk in the house so have to get to that soon.

Maria7 on 12/15/2010:
You've lost close to a hundred pounds! Wow! When are you going to level off? How tall are you?

hopingforhealth on 12/15/2010:
I love reading about your excitement for your visit home! Your family sounds so close. I just have one brother and I can't imagine having so many siblings! It must be fun... and chaotic sometimes. I will think good thought for Rich... I know you will miss him!

Thanks for the support this morning! It's amazing how feelings and food can get mixed up, huh? I am very type A and perfectionist about things, and usually hold myself to a high standard than others. I have actually mellowed a bit over time, with a lot of effort, but it definitely flares up sometimes and I get upset with myself for not being perfect (as if, lol). Today was better, so moving on! :)

hopingforhealth on 12/15/2010:
Ha ha ha. I am sure you would've dropped it like it was VERY hot. Maybe I will work up to it when I feel like a zumba pro, but I was not ready for it tonight. I usually like to hold it like it's lukewarm if I am in front of people and sober. Now with a drink in me.. maybe ;)

I definitely understand how much you like to be around people better now... it feels like home!

Umpqua on 12/15/2010:
Thanks for sharing info on your family, they sound so awesome! I didn't realize you had such a big family (and possibly more in the coffers!) Holidays must be an absolute blast for you guys. I have to say I'm a little jealous that you get to go home to such a warm environment. I hardly ever see my folks on the holidays and they are real loners so when we do it is just the 3 of us. Hubby has a huge family and we see them at every holiday, so that fills the void for me :)

I do think Christian Bale is an awesome actor, I loved The Machinist too. Can't say I pay much attention to the awards shows though, except to look at what everyone is wearing of course!

selina on 12/15/2010:
Hi V! Sounds lie you are having a grand time, even in the cold!

teensybikini on 12/15/2010:
That's awesome! What girl doesnt want to shop. Enjoy your treat.

selina on 12/15/2010:
OMG it's so cold in FL too, I saw the pics of frozen oranges on TV, yikes! No, I won't be hosting this year, we've been invited to other people's parties... have a safe trip to Chicago - don't overdo it with Nana, ha!

just42day on 12/15/2010:
It goes ok; another busy day at work. Did some more interview prep once I got home. My focus now is to get a solid nights's sleep and hope that tonight's/tomorrow a.m.'s snow doesn't make for nasty road conditions in the a.m. Was on the phone waaay too much tonight. Got caught up w/3 great friends. Why all in one night, I don't know but it was wonderful speaking with them! Gotta run. Hope you have a great night! :)

Umpqua on 12/15/2010:
Very nice! I love to dress up and I've never been to an occasion like that. I've gone to some formal stuff in NYC but no Oscar celebrations. Do you ever miss the excitement of the city? It must be such a different atmosphere where you are now. I definitely miss New Haven, and CT is such a tiny state but we are almost 1 1/2 hours away now.

nita51 on 12/15/2010:
Oh yeah,,,,My bad,,,There is a - in front. You go girl!

V - Tuesday Dec 14, 2010
(Low Carb)
Weight: 133.1

Good Morning divas!!! I am going to attempt to keep it short and sweet but a thought entered my mind as I slept...When I left for work last night I took my trash to the can in the alley and I might have tossed the phone in with it???? I am still psyching my self up to brave the 29 deg temps also wait  for the sun to come up a bit more so i might not freeze my cojones off!

Well today I must play catchup with my chores but i will keep ya posted as the day progresses! I hope all you beauties have a wonderful day

Found the cell!!!! It was on the floor in my car...Whew! Went to Marshalls and my shiny red suitcase was gone...There were others but they were not shiny so I didn't get one, Alas, it was not in the cards for me to get it..Laundry done, and I am going to pump it up  later with workout with Rich, I must prepare "the gun show" I am planning sometime in the near future so stay tuned...LOL...I also might go with Tracy this evening to her hot yoga class taught by one of our fellow co-workers(Sarah)....She has been at me to try it for quite sometime and I totally think it is a solid workout but my energy is out of control as you all know and it is so hard for me to focus and I also have the attention span of a gnat!! LOL Thats why I love the barbaric style workouts!!!!!!!!

Well I am off again I am making reservations for a shuttle pickup to the Airport Sunday 3:30 AM  LOL always anxious to make the most of my day I always book the earliest flight there and the latest coming back..A small price to pay to the vacation gods so at least I will have a full day and evening before I head to Mom and Dad on Monday I am going to start packing today as well, might as well get a jump on it...Well I am gonna catch up with you girls now and get moving again soon! One

Back again and what a great workout! Major ampage!!! I decided against the yoga class because Val, and Ambular as well as Tracy were coming and sorry no offense when I say that I LOVE my girls but detest working out with them, very distracting and wayyyy too chatty.

Well I am a little under 2 lbs of my "goal weight" ....With 5 days til vacation I can now enjoy my vacation without stressing out...However that does not mean that this is going to be a free pass to overeat or eat anything...I have slowly start increasing the carbs and intake so now I will let my body take over now... Well I just put dinner is almost done so it is off to see what's going on with you lovelies!!!! Have a good evening

B- Starbucks, 1 gala apple, 1 banana oat date ball

thank you for being (one of) my biggest fan!! you really give me the strength to move forward with what i know is right in my heart. i am looking forward to the freedom i will come to feel in the next couple months:) xo

just42day on 12/14/2010:
Sure hope you find your phone! I know you'll leave no stone unturned in the hunt. :)

Umpqua on 12/14/2010:
Have you tried calling it or is the battery dead? I've gone dumpster diving for stuff in the past, no fun. I hope you find it!

KathyBlue on 12/14/2010:
sent you +1 envelope today, make sure someone checks the mailbox right before Xmas or right after :)

skinnygrlwithin on 12/14/2010:
Haha... I've thrown my keys in the trash before so it's definitely possible!!! Definitely go look for that phone hahaha! As for the no carb thing, I've done it twice, it worked once when I was in law school like a year ago, and then I tried it again when I was having all that trouble losing any weight cause of the stress from the Bar and it didn't work... I was just gonna do it for like 4 days to get my off this crazy carb binge.

getmebackto150 on 12/14/2010:
Agghhh... I hope your phone is ok!!!! 29 degrees... I would LOVE if it was 29 degrees here!!! It was 11 this morning!!! Have a great day:)

tangalyn on 12/14/2010:
glad u found ur phone, hope u have a great day :)

moogy on 12/14/2010:
I am glad you didn't have to start rummaging throught the garbage. Not a good look!! See, now I would love yoga, the calm, intence focusing in on your body. Like it. I am excited for you and your trip home, I bet your family can't wait to see you. Love em or hate em they are family and after last year's crying extravaganza, this year should be more joyful for you.:)

nita51 on 12/14/2010:
LOVE IT!!! V, I also get a lot if inspiration from you as well. You, Kathy and Moogy, are "My latest, My Greatest, Inspiration". Are you old enough to remember Teddy P's Song? Well, that's what you beauties are to me. Love you

moogy on 12/14/2010:
Thanks, I have fixed my calorie number. I wonder what you would have to eat to get through that many in one day. I better not think about it, chocolate bars are jumping over my head!!

nita51 on 12/14/2010:
You go girl !!! BTW I never told you, how much it impacted me, The day you threw that Jodeci ( STAY FOR A WHILE ) song right back at me, in one of your comments. last week. That was DEEP. because that was the main song I was playing that day. ( over and over again ) Beauty, Brains and a Profit too ??? xoxo

moogy on 12/14/2010:
I think it is telling you that you are 1.9 below your goal weight, see - 1.9. Well, that's the best I can do!! If your goal was 135, then that makes sense.

moogy on 12/14/2010:
Yep! you are officially underweight!! Who would have imagined that? Dah Dah! OK, you can start eating more now, up to 2000 for maintenance, I know it will be hard for you but just as much as you needed to lose, you need to put as much effort into getting those maintenance calories inside you. Love you.

Umpqua on 12/14/2010:
You sneak, your weight changed! I was wondering if you would go below 135 and so you have. Do you have a plan to STOP losing at this point? With your new diet I think it's going to be a bit of a challenge, but I know you have done your homework and so I'm anxious to see how you will tackle this. Hope you are having an awesome workout!

loveray on 12/14/2010:
WOW 133 i totally missed it too!! xo

just42day on 12/14/2010:
Sorry about the suitcase but glad you found your cell! Yeah! :) Haven't heard much about Sock Puppet Masterpiece Theatre in awhile. Hope the group hasn't disbanded....

getmebackto150 on 12/14/2010:
Wow... I also missed the new weight... CONGRATS!!!!!!!!

sweetpea1977 on 12/14/2010:
Aww, man, sorry that you missed out on the suitcase!! Im so bummed for you.

So, you have surpassed your goal weight. Do you happen to know how many calories you are averaging per day? If so, you may want to consider adding a few 100 back in to slow down/maintain your loss. Or cut back on the number of high intensity workouts each week.

Umpqua on 12/14/2010:
I'm shopping on Amazon right now and just added that darn book to my order!

sweetpea1977 on 12/14/2010:
Yea, I dont see you as the type of person to cut back on exercise, but at least you know that it wont hurt you if you accidentally end up skipping a workout due to uncontrolled circumstances. :)

Anyway, you have just now entered the trial and error part of learning how to maintain your goal weight. You'll have to monitor your intake to find the perfect balance of calories to maintain your weight. It may take a few weeks to figure it out, but dont let the process overwhelm you. Your body will settle eventually. In the meantime, I think you earned the right to enjoy some of your mama's famous home cookin' (in moderation,of course!).

Maria7 on 12/14/2010:
Whoa, Girl, Congratulations to you! Well done! Yes, you can absolutely not have to worry about calories on your vacation...you can have 7000 calories extra food (2 pounds of calories) and still be at goalweight! Happy for you! :-D

Maria7 on 12/14/2010:
PS...sorry you missed out on your beautiful shiny red suitcase...maybe they have it at another store???

nita51 on 12/14/2010:
:) :) :)

Maria7 on 12/14/2010:
Yes, I am definitely an overpacker...do it EVERY TIME, no matter how I try not to, then have to lug it all around and not wear half of it on the trips...alas, it's just the way I am...now don't you be like that, too! Just pick 2 or 3 of your very fav outfits and take your regular personal gear and you'll be fine since you have clothes at your Mom's.

nita51 on 12/14/2010:
Yes,,,Look at me! Im surprised myself. I find posting and coming to the site, eases some of the stress. Glad you all are here for me. :) Hope you had a good day at work today. Just thinking about your trip. I know your peeps will be glad to see their baby come home. Get some rest girlie, I'm going to TRY a few minutes on my treadmill. xoxo

getmebackto150 on 12/14/2010:
I am a dietitian at a nursing home... LOL... Just goes to show you that the more you know.... doesn't mean the better that you do... LOL!!! I'm very skilled in helping people GAIN weight... thats a major part of my job at the nursing home... Many of our elders are underweight and I'm quite good at helping to prevent weight loss...

moogy on 12/14/2010:
Just prepared the boys afternoon tea, spiders (ice cream and raspberry soda in a big glass), they should stampede up the stairs any minute. Yes, here they are!! How you doin'?

getmebackto150 on 12/14/2010:
I've done it all... I KNOW how to eat perfectly... I've made successful diet plans for many different people back in the day... I used to work as an outpatient dietitian in a hospital... My specialization actually was overweight children counseling... I do work with 2 other dietitians at my nursing home... They both eat somewhat healthy, but not really... They do things like eat hostess cakes and/or chocolate bars every single day... Seriously????? That said, when I get frustrated I will literally show them what I am eating on here...to analyze... they can never find anything wrong... BUT... I know what I do wrong, I just don't stick with eating perfectly all of the time... GRRRRRR... Thats a big part of why I need you ladies for support!!!

I also have a LONG history of somewhat messed up eating habits/health issues... When I was 15 years old I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis... I was hospitalized for a total of about 5 months between 15 and 16 years old... Went about a month without being able to eat/drink and eventually had major surgery to have my large intestine removed... Ever since this illness/episode, I've had an unhealthy relationship with food... It was actually my illness and hospitalization that led me to go to school for nutrition as I had to spend a TON of time with the dietitian while in the hospital....

getmebackto150 on 12/14/2010:
Interestingly, I seem to do quite well with helping OTHER people with weight, eating, dieting issues... just can't take my own advice:)

moogy on 12/14/2010:
Sleep tight sweetheart!!:))

KathyBlue on 12/15/2010:
I received an envelope from Miss Vannessa, a postcard from the Post Office stated :) I'm going to request forwarding to this post office nearby, so I have it by tomorrow :D And you? Two envelopes, one sent yesterday so it will take time but the other, I sent that a loooong ago, along with one to moogy and she has received hers for ages... Hope it gets there safe. Til today there was only one international mailing that had been lost, never heard of it since... unfortunately it was an anniversary gift for my mother, and I couldn't buy the same stuff then coz the store closed for good. ARGH... but that was a long time ago. I hope the mailman doesn't have sticky hands. :D

"I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle - victorious." Vince Lombardi

Good morning ladies Well girls I am running a little late, on the phone already with Tracy, not good news unfortunately....She has to go to Missouri and is leaving Allison and Nicky behind so I offered to her whatever she needed from me so I am working tonight  for her at the inside bar, also I might have to sit Nicky and Ally til her hubby comes home from work for a few days...I am just hoping that she is okay, we just lost a loved one last week so I am praying that her sister is wrong again(Tracy's sis called 3 years ago with the same call in re their mother and she was wrong) I guess Tracy just doesn't want to take the chance that her sis once again is exaggerating about her mother's health...

So I must prepare to leave just in case she needs me to watch Nicky for a while..My errands and plans I had of course can wait til tomorrow, I really didn't feel like doing Laundry today anyways! I am going to try to get a workout in before my shift....I wanted to make some extra cash this week but not under these circumstances....Well girls I am going to read and respond , then get the lead out! Much love

I didn't have to sit today but it is time to get ready for work Not sure what the evening will bring because as you all know Winter has decided to show all of us here in the states what SHE is capable of ...LOL ...We are having hurricane like winds that are making it extra chilly...Well at least with working inside I am sure my bar will be busy...Come on mama needs a new suitcase! LOl Talk to you later girls

Hi I'm  back Operation Suitcase was a success well that is if and only if i find my cell phone LOL I am almost certain that is somewhere in my car???? Keep your fingers crossed would ya! Now normally I would say Oh well (I hate cells it makes people rude, inconsiderate and wreckless, don't get me started) however I am really gonna need for my trip! I will wait til morning to get a better view, Hopefully it is there!!! Oh so a bit of good news on Tracy's mom...As she sat at the Airport all day awaiting clearance (major flight delays due to weather) Sis called to tell Tracy that mom was up and about??? Drama Queen much?? So she decided to speak with Doc herself and decided not to go out there just yet since mom is stable....Well it is off to catch yp with my girlies and have a bite to eat and chillax...ONE

B- Starbucks, 1 pink lady apple, 1 banana oat date ball

L- 4 oz lean smoked turkey sausage, 1 wedge lc light, 2 tbsps black bean salad, 1 tsp spicy mustard

D-1/2 cup romaine 2 tbsp black bean salad, 8oz kickin crab soup

S- 4 slices extra lean turkey bacon

Progress as of today: 89.8 lbs lost so far, only 2.2 lbs to go!

Sorry to hear about your co-worker, you guys have really had a bad run of luck there. I hope your day goes well and you make some extra money!

So sorry about your friend's situation. You sure are a great friend and I'm confident she's greatly comforted knowing you're there for her. Hope your week brightens. :)

just42day on 12/13/2010:
Thanks for your sweet note. I'm feeling much better today so hopefully that mood will last throughout the day! :)

sweetpea1977 on 12/13/2010:
Sorry about Tracy's situation. I hope everything turns out fine for her. You are such a wonderful friend to help her out during her time of need. :)

Yes, those were the clothes I thought I left behind at my old house. Im SO happy I found them. This bag had two really cute graphic maternity shirts (one says "Currently Craving My Waist" lol), some really comfy brown corderoy pants, and some cool olive green pants(which can be converted to capris). Yay!

sweetpea1977 on 12/13/2010:
lol, I didnt start thinking about fitting into my jeans until the day before my post-partum check up. ;)

chidogs on 12/13/2010:
You are a treasure of a friend to have. Bravo for you in helping Tracy out the way you are. I hope she finds things aren't so bad. Take care.

sweetpea1977 on 12/13/2010:
V, I have a question regarding your diet transition. Are you eliminating all animal protein from your diet (poultry, pork, beef, and seafood)? What about animal products like dairy and eggs? Is there anything else you are removing from your diet? Im sure you mentioned all this already in previous posts, so please forgive me for asking. I know I've left comments that I dont want to become a full fledge vegetarian, but do like to have a few meat-free days and limit my red meat intake to special occasions. Anyway, I was just curious, thats all. :)

sweetpea1977 on 12/13/2010:
Wow, thanks for all the info. I understand all the food omissions except the healthy oils (flax, olive, canola, safflower for example) and fats (nuts, avocadoes). I use all these in moderation (since they are so calorie dense) since I believed that they were good for the heart and skin. Anyway, I will definitely check out the documentary and book!

loveray on 12/13/2010:
those "balls" look DELISH. hope you are having a fabulous day!

loveray on 12/13/2010:
ps- your new diet sounds a little like macrobiotic eating. have you read anything about it? i have friends who adore it...may be worth checking out and exactly within your restrictions.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 12/13/2010:
after reading your menu diet, my mouth is watering. what a great diet. those pink lady apples are great! I tried a new apple the other day. It was called a "JAZZ" apple! wow! haha, perfect apple for you! i know you are into the music scene! haha. maybe not jazz, but how could you deny a jazz apple!? it tasted much like the sweet Fuji apple.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 12/13/2010:
be proud of yourself...you are practically at your goal weight. more importantly, NEVER, EVER GIVE UP once you get to that weight. continue to eat well, healthfully, and with a goal in mind to maintain your success - your weight. you will be most happy this way, for sure. take it from me - i do in fact have much experience with dieting, weight, and its fluctuations! :-) you have done a great job with yourself, your body, and probably even your self esteem!

moogy on 12/13/2010:
I am glad that you are inside on such a yucky day, it must be karma again. You know I have been thinking and I have changed my mind about the suitcase. I think that if you want it, you deserve it, so there, princess V you can have the suitcase - your fairy godmother said so. LOL. Thank you V for all you love and encouragement, I have really needed it this week. Love you girl!!

devine1 on 12/13/2010:
Hi Ms V, Nita showed me pictures of you. Wow!!!you are really taking care of business. Hope to do the same. Nita and I are really trying. No more junk foods in the house and I'm going to try and walk with her a little. Have a good week. :)

hopingforhealth on 12/13/2010:
Yikes! So tough for Tracy! No great times around the restaurant these days, huh? (By the way, do you work at a restaurant or a bar? I am never 100%, but have decided restaurant with bar :P) I'm glad you can be there and help her out!

just42day on 12/13/2010:
Hey you. Just wanted to drop you a short note saying I had a pretty good day so far. Ended up working so that pretty much took care of the day. Plan on calling it another early night as I'm still tired. Emotions I'm sure but today was definitely a better day. Hope yours ends well, too. :)

V - Sunday Dec 12, 2010
(Low Carb)
Weight: 137.2

Good morning ladies!!! Sunny right now so I am going to attempt to get out before that all changes, temps are going to drop as the day progresses along with rain I am going to stock the cabinets with a few things for my transition in January...I know it seems a bit soon  however I am all about setting myself up for success...I also don't want to overdo it with the groceries I normally buy because I will be in Chicago next week!!!!!! I also need to get my lashes re touched.....If and only if I have money to spare I will get the suitcase!!!!

I know it is all a bit silly to get excited over something that only function is to transport clothes from point A to B However it is sooooo cute Sweetpea knows how expensive this item is and it is a mere fraction of the cost at Marshall's did I mention the wheels have 360degees mobility???? LOL Anyways i must get going before I give in to taking a nap, i can sleep when i'm dead! Love ya girls, Have a Funday Sunday

Well i am back just in time for FOOTBALL!!! I even arrived just before kickoff HOWEVER my mom called and she always has lots to say!!! It is always a one sided conversation in fact if I set the phone down for a few minutes she would never know(not that I have EVER done that before) LOL

Moogy would be thrilled to know that I didn't get the suitcase...YET! Shopping was very interesting, I scaled back on meat purchases and my bill was suprisingly low??? I also comparison shopped before and I managed to save alot more on my canned goods at the regular store where I shop as opposed to the "health food store's" same brand

Well girls that is all I have to report now, hope everyone's day is going well, much love to all and a lots of extra love to my girl  Just42day

Back again!! What a good day for football!!!! I am so far so good with the exception of my Bears It is NOT looking so good for them, the Patriots are brought their A game...They still have another quarter to so and it is totally sucking that it is not televised here..BOOOOO!

Well dinner is almost done so I will read and respond soon

B- Starbucks, 1 banana oat date ball (no dairy, sugars, oil or flour) 1 pear

L- 4 oz lean smoked turkey sausage, spicy mustard,2 wedges lc light cheese

D-4 oz lean centercut chop, 1 cup romaine,3 slices cucumber, 2 tbps homemade black bean salad 1 artichoke heart

1 gallon water 1 celsius

Progress as of today: 89.8 lbs lost so far, only 2.2 lbs to go!

just42day on 12/12/2010:
Thanks for your kind note. While it's good to be back in my own home, I'm wracked w/guilt for being here. Just can't stop crying. Hopefully I can pull myself together before my usual Sunday call to mom as she'll be really upset if I'm upset. This stinks.

tangalyn on 12/12/2010:
hope it dont get too cold, have a great day V :)

moogy on 12/12/2010:
Yes, yes, I can hear you talking yourself into it everytime you mention it. I hope you had a good day V, I am sitting in the pitch balck here, even the street lights are out for some reason, it's nearly 4 in the morning. I am going to make myself a hot chocolate and try and watch something boring on the tele. Catch you later, alligator!!

moogy on 12/12/2010:
Just water before, I really don't drink anything else except my hot chocolate. I was hungry because I was awake so early. I got back to sleep, it is 7.15 as I type this. Well done on the not buying the suitcase and getting your food cheaper from the regular shop, that's good. And you are right meat does cost a lot and really pushes the grocery bill up. I suppose that is another bonus I have now, my meals are so little my shopping bill will go down as well. What would usually last for four meals will now last for eight. I have heaps of 1 cup containers from last time and everything gets thrown into the freezer. It is like a lillipudlian villages freezer!!

moogy on 12/12/2010:
Oh, I should say that, my meals should be only 1 cup (20 teaspoons eaten over 20 minites), if I am eating around 1000 calories this is what should satisfy me. If it doesn't then I need more fluid. I am still sorting things out with this, they gave me much more information about how to manage the band this time, it's a bit of a pain, but it's all trial and error. Even when we get it right, I have to go back twice a year for the rest of my life. Of course, I would be slim - can't really picture that!!!

hopingforhealth on 12/12/2010:
Yea, that meat makes a big impact on the grocery bill! It's one of the things I added when I started eating better, and I could feel it in my wallet. It turns out, living half on carbs is super cheap! Who knew :P

hopingforhealth on 12/12/2010:
Ha ha, no I don't go very often, so I am usually pretty safe. I tend to go when I am out of chicken breasts, egg whites or paper products... and since I am single and buy costco sizes, I can go a longggg time without running out of that stuff in my freezer.

She isn't moving insanely far away (5-6hrs I think) and I know it will be good. I just had a bit of a sadness slap when it was official, for purely selfish reasons :) She and her husband are changing locations within their company, so they are lucky not to have to look for a job to move in this crappy economy!

hopingforhealth on 12/12/2010:
Ha ha. No, but I wish I did! Who doesn't love Irish boys :)

Umpqua on 12/12/2010:
I know you've mentioned this before and I haven't seen it. Adds to queue ;) We watched Natural Born Killers last night, hadn't seen it since the 90s. What a great, trippy flick and Woody Harrelson looks pretty hot in it!

moogy on 12/12/2010:
Yep, the lap band is permanent, I can have the fluid taken out but it would taken another major op to have it removed. The plan for them is that they stay in there for life. Just like with any dieter, when I reach my goal weight I get to eat maintenance calories, so 2000. I find it hard to think of being anything near a goal weight, I have been dieting since I was 16 and I will be 56 in April, that is a long time so be trying and failing. I am just seeing their is an Irish boy debate going on, as my married name is O'Neil, I have to say Irish boy's have a little something extra.

Umpqua on 12/12/2010:
Oh and I have a Liz Claiborne rolling suitcase that I love, and it fits in the overhead compartment. If you are going to fly, you must have a decent suitcase IMHO. I don't spend a ton of money on clothes and accessories, but good shoes, a good bag and a suitcase are the essentials. That is all LOL

belly on 12/12/2010:
Ooooh, I completely understand the lure of a pretty hard-case, shiny, 360 wheel suitcase. I keep looking, and will buy one once I feel better about spending that kind of $. I'm so impressed how much you've lost, it sounds like you're having a blast right now!

just42day on 12/12/2010:
Thanks for your note. Quiet day; made a batch of xmas cookies and didn't really accomplish much else. Am doing the best I can. Got thru this morning's mom call pretty well except at the end when I got teary. My brother also called asking about mom's final paperwork. Gosh, I hate this stuff. Plan on crashing early tonight. Haven't even told work I've returned yet as I didn't want to risk the chance of being called in today or tomorrow. (Tonight's wind chills are supposed to be -20 or so and there's no need for anyone to be out in that. Will call work late tomorrow.) g'night.

moogy on 12/12/2010:
Oh don't tease V, shopping for clothes in a different size to the ones I have in my wardrobe, which is about 12 feet wide with three huge sliding doors and is packed with clothes. Plus I have a few hanging in a walk through. I have my fat clothes, which I am wearing at the moment, my next clothes down that I fit into when I am about 25lbs lighter, and some that still have their tags on that I have never worn - I bought them because I thought I would lose weight to fit into them!! They may have to be my first big goal. I love nice clothes and some of the smaller things are really nice!! I really hope this works!!!!! It is 12.30 and it is going well today, no hunger, so that's good. Ask all the questions you want, I don't mind a bit.:)

moogy on 12/12/2010:
Oh and apart from the accent, don't you think they have a little twinkle in their eyes. My husband's are green, he was so handsome - shame he is slow and stupid as well!!

moogy on 12/12/2010:
Don't they have some sort of Barmaids Beauty Pageant somewhere. They have they for everything else, or, or, perhaps you could initiate the INUGRIAL BARMAIDS BEAUTY PAGEANT. We just have to work out if you are going to stand a better chance of winning in Chicago or Miami. Of course, it not about winning it's about SHOWING OFF!!!!!LOL

loveray on 12/12/2010:
hope you had a wonderful day!! xo

moogy on 12/12/2010:
See, it didn't occur to me to enter both. High fives for you girlie!! Showing of at the top and bottom of the US (eww, bottom doesn't sound too good does it?). I love Dexter and know Miami is the bottom but, you know what I mean. It wouldn't be as much as a trip for the SOUTHERN INUGURAL BARMAIDS BEAUTY PAGEANT as it would be for the NORTHERN INUGURAL BARMAIDS BEAUTY PAGEANT.!! LOL

V - Saturday Dec 11, 2010
(Low Carb)
Weight: 137.2

Good Morning ladies One more shift and my weekend begins Predicting once again that i will be done early because yet another cold front approching later this evening This has become a weekly pattern cold Sun-Wed and kinda warmer Thu-Sat, as I said before I will take it! i am even proud that i have managed not to fill my idle time spending lots of money I have been on my best? behavior....With that being said there is this super cute suitcase that I have been eyeballing at Marshalls for weeks now, here is the dilemna, I want it but I don't need it????Hummm...Well my rationale is this, at least i would be able to spot it out easily on the carousel, LOL

I am also stuck in a deicsion as to which guy I am going to let pick me up at the airport in Chicago...T.J (bar owner) or David???? LOL I know it's neverending with me...I don't even know how T.J knew I was coming to town???? Yes he did chicken out with his decision to sell the bars and pursue engineering, that lost alot of points with me BUT he sure knows how to have funnnn!!! Once I get to my folks place there won't be much heading Downtown cause you all know how much trouble my brother and I got in trouble for hanging out with my Grandma!!! LOL SO i have a week to ponder...Well girls i will chat with you all later this evening!

Good evening lovelies!!! Well my day went by pretty slow and the cash was so so but i did get a chance to socialize!!! I went out with some of my patrons that drove in from Lakrland( 1 hour away) just to see me an d i was done by 3 pm...I could have done some damage to the copious amounts of booze that was ordered but I didn't

Well it is off to respond and read diaries and eat dinner so much love

B- Starbucks

L-4 oz skinless broile chicken breast, 1/2 cup sauteed collards

D-6 oz skinless broiled chicken breast, 1 cuo romaine, red onions, 1oz ff feta, 1oz sunflower kernrls, 3 cucumber slices, red wine win, 1 cup ff lo sod chicken broth

1 gallon water, 2 celsius and goose, 1 celsius

Progress as of today: 89.8 lbs lost so far, only 2.2 lbs to go!

selina on 12/11/2010:
Good job on not spending loads of money when having time-off! Don't buy the item if you are not totally in love with it and you can't live without it - that's my motto. That's what I'd tell my daughter anyway!

You got in trouble for hanging out with your Grandma?

Maria7 on 12/11/2010:
Hello to you. It is very chilly here in SC. I got the 12 layer chocolate cake baked and frosted and decorated and ran out of chocolate frosting to frost my miniature cupcake (but did get Hubby's frosted). As for the suitcase, does it have wheels and are the wheels on the one you have worn? (A good excuse, anyway.) :-D

sweetpea1977 on 12/11/2010:
I understand your suitcase dilimma! A few weekends ago, I saw a vibrant hardcase suitcase that I wanted, but didnt really need. However, they would be really easy to spot on the luggage carousel!! Here is their full line: http://www.heysusa.com/ I especially like their Britto line. :) Im sure Amazon.com sells their stuff for A LOT cheaper, so thats the route I'll go if I need/want new luggage.

hopingforhealth on 12/11/2010:
Ha ha, V. Always choosing between the men, praying mantis style. You're a popular girl! I opted out; sorry to disappoint :P But I've gone three years running before this, so hopefully I am not too super lame!

Way to resist with the booze. I know how hard it is!

moogy on 12/11/2010:
Yes, well I have a cheaper way to spot your suitcase, my mom always tied a red ribbon round her handle. Easy to spot, no problems. Cheaper than A BRAND NEW UNNECCESSARY SUITCASE. Well done resisting the alcohol. I hope it warms up for you soon so you can back some buck for your trip.:)

moogy on 12/11/2010:
Oh, no worries on that front, if things don't work out with her husband. That would be it, she doesn't need a man in her life. She would be happy without them. In fact she said this morning, she can do without him or anyone else (she wasn't joking, we have often spoken about this). Men are just not worth the effort, sad but true, perhaps I should say most men. Beside that we have really high moral standards in relation to sex and would never go out with a man whilst married and even if not never be in a realationship with one without marriage. Not being judgemental, that part of the deal as well!! LOL

moogy on 12/11/2010:
Yeah!! I have seen those praying manti move and man they are quick, the black widow spiders grab them boys pretty smartly as well! LOL

Umpqua on 12/11/2010:
I'm glad you had a decent day and good job resisting the booze! I didn't get to see Black Swan, yesterday was too hectic and so we stayed in. We had a girls' shopping day today with lunch, so that was nice. I NEVER get to do stuff like that. I'm hoping hubby and I can see Black Swan for a date night next weekend. I didn't see Center Stage, but it made me think of Stage Beauty, which was a great flick. Hope you're having a good night!

Umpqua on 12/11/2010:
Haha, I need to make a new folder with your movie suggestions, we seem to have similar tastes. Billy Crudup reminds me of Almost Famous, which reminds me of a movie I watched twice this week (re-watched with the hubby). Wristcutters: A Love Story. Patrick Fugit is in it, as well as Tom Waits (love that man). Great flick despite the name!

Umpqua on 12/11/2010:
Omigod, that was a plot line on Northern Exposure where Chris reunites with his long lost brother Bernard: http://home.comcast.net/~mcnotes/bernard.jpg.....Daddy was a traveling man ;)

Don't know the Jesus movie, but I IMDB'd it, great cast. Adds to list!

sweetpea1977 on 12/11/2010:
I had a strong feeling it was the same brand! And for only $49?? Girl, you must get it. That is a STEAL!!
