It's so hard now. I use to need to lose weight and start a diet and stick to it and lose the weight. Now I can't even stick to it one day. Going to try to just start over tomorrow. Again I say this weekly. So dumb. I keep thinking maybe I need to just starve all day and eat only dinner. Maybe that would work. But then I can't and try to eat during the day then I over eat and say I will skip dinner but I don't. How could I not be able to control myself. Seems so mental. I feel smarter than I am acting

Progress as of today: 3 lbs lost so far, only 32 lbs to go!

Your being way too hard on yourself. Try eliminating only one bad habit and work on that. Eventually you will notice that you no longer need it. Then move on to the next bad habit. We all have our own way of doing it. I am sure you will find your way.

Duaa123. on 07/25/2016:
You know changes start from inside before outside.. Set with yourself alone to know urself more and more, thats will help u alot.. Good luck

OhioRaven on 07/26/2016:
Excellent advice from Puddy and Duaa. Just remember to be Good to yourself.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 07/26/2016:
the more you starve yourself, the less control you have because you will be overly hungry. it takes time to get back onto a good schedule with eating and pattern and routine in general. it's hard.

Do NOT starve yourself...you need to relearn to eat regularly throughout the day...it will help you make better choices when you are not ravenous.

also....veggies always help me.

I don't even know what I weigh today I just got off vacation. Didn't really watch calories but I don't think I gained a whole lot if anything either. Trust me I could have gained easily but I didn't binge. Phew. Will post weight tomorrow or later today (it's 4:39 AM) sigh. I'm struggling. I learned of extra bills I didn't know about. Apparently my husband has a credit card that he used "just for gas" haha I opened the bill up thinking it was going to be 500 ish for the month NOPE 3000 ugh really it's like a ton of fast food or random 20-50 wal Mart junk it's seriously tons of added up (few months worth) of small charges I'm so mad. It's like why not use the bank account ?? Men are so dumb at times. So part of me want to lash out part of me wants to just eat. Sigh. I know it will get paid off and things will be fine in time but why. Why do I have this monthly bill that I now need to pay. And why does food make me not think of bills that makes no sense

Horn_Of_Plenty on 07/19/2016:
When eating lots of food at once or lots of sugar / carbs at once, food has a “calming effect or sedation effect” on your body. All your blood goes to your stomach and all I want to do is relax / sleep. Food is definitely something I use as a drug when I want to “zone out” after work or in the evening or really anytime. Whenever I eat, especially larger quantities, it makes me sleepy and want to zone out. So, it’s not only you that food affects this way. Different people have different tolerances. There are even a few people that do not enjoy indulging and don’t need to work on their self control because maybe it’s too uncomfortable to ingest the higher calories or volume that people like you and me are used to doing to ourselves. It is a struggle still for me. My suggestion right now is to invest time in food / drink alternatives that are lower cal so you can indulge but for less of a tax on your calories….find the low cal options…then you don’t have to stop eating so much right away. You can still fill yourself up, but for lower calories. Or…if you want to get away from stress eating altogether, maybe try to push yourself to do some other activity instead like reading. I get so involved in the mindless eating that if I plan to read in the evening, it can take me 2-3hrs of eating / web browsing before I actually get to the task of reading….so like you, I’m also really good at procrastinating with food. Try to use my suggestions if you think they’d help you.

Very good idea. I think I need to stick with my diet shakes. Even if they aren't the healthiest for us. At least they are yummy and a certain amount of calories.

innerpeace on 07/19/2016:
Hang in there! I would cut that credit card up, especially if I didn't know a thing about it! Men get in trouble with things like that!

WickedCurves on 07/25/2016:
Yeah credit card is gone. Just spent a few days going over bills and adding a 100 payment a month to our budget. Grr now he wants nothing to do with bills and that is all on me now go figure. But whatever I will do my best. Thanks for the comments

So I bought healthier foods for the week. I have salads for lunches this week and chicken to grill up for dinner. I really hope I stay on track. I was looking at my sons smile and wants keep that image in my head if I snack or go to overeat. He really is my reason. Along with looking better lol

Going to try to get some exercise in this week too. I work at a desk all week so I don't move much. I do play with my son when I'm home but it's not like cardio. Honestly since people have reported that weightloss is like 80% diet and only 20% exercise I have had a hard time working out. Like it's not getting me to my goal why bother I am busy have other things to do. But I was thinner when I worked out. So confusing What do you guys think?

I hope everyone does really well this week. !!!

thinkpositive on 07/11/2016:
I know that I feel better when I exercise. If nothing else exercise helps to keep me in a better mindset which helps keep me on track. The trick is to make time for it. For me- I'm retired so no problem. Harder when you work & have a child .

Horn_of_plenty on 07/12/2016:
if anything, it is cardio that is overrated. I know from trial and error. i love weights and lift them 3x per week. I don't look like a weightlifter at all since i am female and not overdoing it to that kind of extreme or taking any supplements. so i look pure woman...anyways, you do not need to waste hours doing cardio walking on a treadmill = NO. but if you start to do some minimal exercises using dumbells at your home, it will help you shape your body as well as create a little more muscle that will raise your metabolism all day even while you are at work...

So I told my husband to please stop getting me cakes, cookies, and snacks when he goes out. I always thought it was a nice gesture but his dad told me the other day he was only buying me stuff to validate buying himself snacks. So it isn't really him thinking of me just feeling bad he got something for himself. So I said he can still get me coffee with no sugar etc. just trying to lower my calorie intake right now. According to a calculator I am eating around 1950 calories a day to stay at mg weight (probably eating more since I have been gaining) so realistically I could eat 1400 a day and lose a lb a week. But then I get discouraged 1lb seems like nothing. Then I will try and eat less. That lasts from a few days to a couple of weeks then I binge. I eat in secret. People around me will say you don't eat that much I don't understand why you gain or why your heavier. I know why. They only see half the food that goes in my mouth. Never thought i would be like this. So I am going to try and stop eating after Dinner and only eat my planned meal and snacks. The weekend I fear. How are you a fun mom on a diet ?

Good Luck. You have to decide to be happy on this new journey of yours...that will go a long way in being a fun mom... Have a great weekend.

I'm 31 almost 32 years old 5'4"

Day one!!! 11 weeks until my Sons 3rd birthday. Would really like to lose 20 lbs so people won't see how much I have gained in pictures. My son deserves to have pictures of me at his birthdays. I literally took a shower at 11 at night because I had to cry in secret. I stood on the scale tonight to weigh the dog (I know right ) and noticed since needing to lose weight I gained yet another 10 lbs since last time I looked. Tomorrow (4 mins from now ) is another day

Good night all. Here's to a healthier skinnier sexier tomorrow

Progress as of today: 0 lbs lost so far, only 35 lbs to go!

Make small changes in your diet over a long period of time. Swap out an Old Bad thing for a New Good thing. Maybe your Mom will accept your new life Style easier that way. Good Luck and Welcome to the Double D.
