I thought I'd share the soup I kind of threw together yesterday. It's loosely based on a recipe in an old Betty Crocker cookbook. For salt it only has the tad bit I added. The veg stock is plain--made with nothing but veg--no additives and no salt.

I chopped a half-onion, a few garlic cloves, and 3 celery stalks. I sautéed all in water and added a box of cremini mushrooms I sliced. Then I chopped 4 smallish russets, added a box of veg stock, 4 bay leaves, a little red pepper flakes, a bit of salt and some freshly ground pepper. I let that simmer for about 8 min and then added frozen peas, carrots and cut green beans. Simmered that for about 3 min and that's it. No GOOD excuse for me not having soup on hand:-)

The mushrooms were for an Asian-inspired soup recipe with tofu, but I'll have to get some more for that:-)

Sleep: 7 hrs

Water: 16 oz

I'm down a bit too much (3.2#) for my taste on my weigh-in. The only thing I can attribute it to is skipping some meals the last two days. It could be some fluid drop as well. Not to mention the fact that I'm sleeping very well. Sleep is known to affect the hormone levels of leptin and ghrelin and ultimately weight loss/gain for some.

After today, caffeine in any form is out for the month. I had a half-decaf coffee earlier. For me the difference in my sleep (even using decaf only) is remarkable. Oh menopause--I wish I could slaughter it before it kills me:-)

Yes people, menopause doesn't die until we do--dammit!

Exercise: Airdyne 32 min

Sleep: 7.5 hrs

Water: 32 oz

I got in some good exercise with a little wt trng on Wednesday. Exercise unfortunately isn't "banked." It requires consistency for the benefit. Notes to self:-)

Hey bb! You know, it seems having one plan or so midday out of the apartment is the only way I can get through a fast. I failed again today. But, I am also taking prescription medicine and I think my body and brain know it's better I eat and take them in the morning than not - so it's screwing with the whole fast regimen. I wanna do the fasting again but maybe I'll just lesson the harshness during thanksgiving break to eating one less meal or something - gotta think about it more.
