(<1800 Cal/Day :: Ex Up To 20% Act :: 84 oz Water)
Weight: 156.5

Start: 189 (June 2001)
Low: 150.5 (Jan 2004)
Current BMI=26.9 My Realistic BMI Goal=22.8 (133)

For my activity:
Wed: NordicTrack 23 min/2.4 mi; Jog 21 min/Walk 60 min
Thur: Driving abt 3 hrs; Walk 10 min

Days 164 & 165 were good.

Except for the eating:-) My analysis of the eating is thus: had to complete an anxiety-causing (of the irrational sort) task and I more or less had the opportunity to eat well afterward, so I did. The only thing was that the hot fudge sundae was a little bigger than usual.

I wanted to jog last night, but I had only slept 4 hours the night before and feeling slightly out of gas, I skipped it. It was terribly hot and just felt like a blowing furnace even close to 9 p.m. I was really glad I didn't go jogging, but I also was feeling like a slacker and wondered if I would be able to get right back to it today. I think I'll be okay:-)

Plan for today: NTrk, jog, walk

Have a lovely day!

Day 163 was good.

Didn't make that 1800-cal goal . . . and I've been (so far today) eating like it's the end of the world. Tomorrow I'll shoot again!

Plan for today: NTrk, jog, walk

Have a lovely day!

You'd better stop this, biscotti - take it from someone who knows! Last week I thought I could get away with eating like there's no tomorrow, because I was at a lowish weight and somehow the scale didn't seem to be going up. But this week I'm paying the price! It will catch up to you sooner or later, and you don't want to blow it like I did!

monet0239 on 08/10/2006:
Good morning sweetie..

man oh man.. you need to get this under control.. like Born said.. it will catch up with ya and then you'll be feeling all down..:(.. so shake it off.. smile and just know you can control this.. you are the boss.. not the food.. and just think.. even if it was the end of the world.. I would like to think the big man up stairs has way better food going on there when we have here.. hehehe.. so its ok.. hehe.. hugssss.. you have a wonderful day hun.. and be strong..

maria777 on 08/10/2006:
Look at you!!! Already down to 156.5! Congratulations to you!

WorkingIt on 08/11/2006:
Hey Biscotti, thanks for pointing me to the other journals, I do appreciate it! Good luck with getting back into your calorie range! Do you track your calories when you binge or just hate it so much that you try to forget it? The first couple times I fell off the goal wagon, I did not track any calories. When I did it again, I decided I'd try to get a ballpark range, and to my horror I found I was eating close to 3,000 calories! You'll get back on track, I have faith! Have a great day =)

For my activity: DogJog 5 min/Walk 60 min

Day 162 was good. I skipped the Airdyne (bike) workout.

I'm down a half-pound on my weigh-in. And on my measurements I'm up .75 inch overall. I'm down the most in my leg measurement, three-eighths inch, probably owing to the increased walking I've been doing. It's sure not because of the zillions of calories over 1800 I've been eating recently. That has to be the locked-in upper limit of my intake--1800! Period.

Plan for today: Circuit workout, walk

Have a lovely day!

borntocry on 08/09/2006:
Hey, way to go, you!

I'm trying to do the same thing - make 1800 my absolute upper limit. For some reason this seems to be impossible for me. I feel that 1500 calories would be a "normal" amount for a small person like me, but it's either 1200 or 2400 - nothing in between. I've been keeping track of my calories in an Excel file and the vast majority of my days are either under 1200 or over 1800. How many days at 1500? One!

becca27 on 08/09/2006:
Where did your measurements go up? That's very curious! I'm glad the scale has you down. You are making great steady progress, though. Keep up the good work!

Moody on 08/09/2006:
I've had that happen to me before, I lost 11 pounds and my inches went down everywhere but my bust!! That actually increased 1/4 inch. Go figure! Keep up the good work; you are an inspiration!

Days 159, 160 & 161 were good.

I did get into a box of chocolates--not much control in that area. It did take me 3 days to eat all the ones that I preferred:-)

Plan for today: Airdyne, jog, walk

Hola BB =) Thanks for checking out the BMR thing. This is where I got my info from:

Where can you find your BMR? > http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/calrmr.htm > http://health.discovery.com/tools/calculators/basal/basal.html > > Harris Benedict Formula To determine your total daily calorie needs, multiply your BMR by the appropriate activity factor, as follows: > > If you are sedentary (little or no exercise) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.2 If you are lightly active (light exercise/sports 1-3 days/week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.375 If you are moderatetely active (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.55 > > If you are very active (hard exercise/sports 6-7 days a week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.725 If you are extra active (very hard exercise/sports & physical job or 2x training) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.9

Day 156 was good.

I have been fighting some flavor of gnat on my jog. They're in swarms and before I know it I've breathed one in. I've gotten at least one lodged in my throat per jog for the last 6 or 8 jogs. Then I cough them up--and spit them out. Isn't that a pretty picture--someone who already looks like a nutcase jogging in the heat, then they sound like they're choking.

Though I usually meet up with a few walkers and other exercisers along my way, I've been lucky that no one is usually "right there" when I've breathed in a gnat. Maybe I shouldn't fight them and consider them to be a good source of protein:-) I swear they're worse this year, perhaps because of the drought.

Plan for today: Circuit workout, jog, walk

Have a lovely day!

Hehehehe i hate it when that happens, there is always a part of me that believes they will be alive in my stomach and keep growing and multiplying there lol, so i think its better to rather spit them out....just to be safe lol!

LOL we have the same problem with gnats around here...IN the office! UGH..such horrible pests they are =)

moody on 08/03/2006:
Thanks for you comment...You're right..it isn't anybody's business except mine!!As for the snacks, I used to just buy one and that would be it. But for some unknown reason I have just been out of control lately(the past couple of months) and eating things in amounts I never have...I know the best thing is to not even have them in the house...I have a 16 year old son who is in great physical condition and so I could buy them for him, but I know myself well enough to know that I would end up sneaking them. Better to not have them around:period.

Also, whats a maccaroon?? is it a sweet???

If you can't learn to do it well, you should learn to enjoy doing it badly. --Ashleigh's First Law

For my activity: NordicTrack 41 min/4.6 mi; Jog 18 min/Walk 20 min

Day 155 was good.

Weight's the same. Measurements overall are down ever so slightly. I gained a quarter-inch in my calf--moo! I lost a quarter-inch in my abdomen. Since February 28th I'm down 12.5 pounds. My energy level is very much improved since then, but other than that and being able to get into more of my clothes, I don't feel drastically different. Probably because I've been down this road before. Must push forward focusing ahead toward 140:-)

I haven't had to mow in over a month owing to very little to no rain. It's nearly pointless (and wasteful) to water except for the foundation and a little of everything else here and there. It's really bad!

Time to keep pressing on with better food choices and lower calories overall. If I don't do so, I'll be back in the dreaded and stifling 160s--my own personal slasher movie, THE 160s! Eeeeeeeeeek!

Plan for today: NTrk, jog, walk

Have a lovely day!

I wanted to thank you for your words of encouragement..they mean more to me than I can say...I am scared of seeing what my actual measurements are!! I'm serious! I do have a tape measure up in my dresser drawer so maybe tomorrow morning I will see where I am at. Thanks again..any advice is more than welcome!

liza36 on 08/02/2006:
I saw the comment you made to BTC about the nasty biscuit huge truck sale...it made me laugh because it's so true. I'd love one bite of an authentic french pastry over any nasty biscuit anyday.

borntocry on 08/02/2006:
Well I'll send you guys some authentic French pastries in return for a truckload of biscuits, haha!

The worst is when it actually costs less to get more of something. My husband actually experienced this at a fast food place in America. Their super-sized pop was cheaper than the size below - not just better value, but actually cheaper! He and his friends practically made themselves sick on pop.

Here in France it's the complete opposite. Buying things in bulk can actually work out to be more expensive than buying them singly. We've noticed this with all kinds of products, not just food. For instance, a pack of eight batteries costs more than double the price of a pack of four. So why would anyone buy the eight-pack instead of two four-packs? Beats me.

I actually took a route (with a few more challenging hills) on my jog that I hadn't taken in a long time. Still in the 90s though tempwise, but I held my own. I'm feeling very close to where I was about a year ago with the jogging. Gotta hang onto it and continue progressing!
