I'm back down to 156.5 today. Haven't figured my cal/fat for yesterday, but I estimate over 2000 for calories. A Timmy the Tapeworm kind of eating day. I just couldn't eat enough!

I also got in a 20 min jog. Given the choice between cool/humid and hot/dryish, I'll take hot!

No pre-brkfst exercise yesterday
1881 cal; 54g fat; 90 oz water

Did not get in early workout--a little sore plus knew I would be doing a little mowing later on. Ended up doing about 45 min of mowing. Then did a 20 min jog.

Foodwise I was over on both marks--went for chinese buffet but didn't overeat. It's amazing how little it takes to satisfy my appetite nowadays.

NordicTrack (pre-bkfst) 61 min/7.1 mi
1695 cal; 62g fat; 110 oz water

In addition to the NordicTrack, I also did a 20 min jog later on. And during the early workout I did 5 sissy pushups X 3, 100 (50 ea side) bicycle situps X 3, and 5 each reg squat, deadlift, biceps curl, and triceps kickback.

So the fat was a little high--I have some pesto sauce I still am working on--and I ate a small fried pie (out of sheer opportunity and boredom, oh, and it hit the spot!)not bad:-)

Here is my exercise for the last few days.

Fri 8.8: Jog 33 min (19-14)
Sat 8.9: Jog 30 min
Sun 8.10: Jog 35 min (12-13-5-5)
Mon 8.11: Jog 30 min

I'm just about a day away from the end of "Back2Basics for Two Weeks." I haven't been watching my food at all for the last few days. I'm going back to exercising before breakfast and watching fat and calories (or at least using FitDay every day for awhile). This is my usual weigh-in day, but I didn't do that. I'm sure I'm up a few pounds--almost all my measurements are up at least a quarter-inch today.

It's so easy to lose ground at this effort. It's hard to face that fact even when the numbers bear it out (by going up and up). If I keep up the rate I've been for the last week or so--I'll probably be up 10 pounds in a month or less.

There was one day I was jogging that I swear my legs felt just like two logs clonking down the road. It was cooler right after a rain, but the humidity was awful. It took forever to get into it that day.

Exercise will only take me so far--I've jogged for 26 out of the last 32 days--which is personally gratifying, but I need to apply that same perseverance and absence of fear of failure to my food choices. Oh, and taking it one day at a time can't hurt:-)

Oh to have the metabolism of my 15-year-old self (and no cares of "food choice"). I will get below the overweight BMI soon--with time and patience, good food choices, and Pastagal's One day at a time and Consistency will help you get to your goal faster. Hope you're hangin' in there PastaGal:-)

Hi there!

I lost my way foodwise--not much else to say--I let myself go! I got in a jog for all days: Tues 30 min; Wed 30 min (19-11); Thurs 40 (23-6-11). Still feeling good jogging except for the heat.

On my jog last night, I was the victim of an unfortunate "redneck in a pick 'em up truck" smooshing a toad under his/her front tire incident. I could feel the toad juice splashing all over me as the unlucky creature was crushed under the weight of BillyJoe's dumbass hauler.

Poor toadie-oadie! A**hole pickup-driving dumba**!

So, it's back on track tomorrow for the last 5 days of the "Two Weeks."

Happy Tuesday!

I'm still writing down my food. I got in a 30 min jog yesterday. Because of the heat (even at 8 p.m.) there aren't alot of people out exercising. But there are two older (early 70s) women I see just about every evening at some point of my jog--this has been going on for at least 2 months. They don't just walk up the street for 5 or 10 min--they go at least for a half hour.

If you're finding it hard to get motivated to exercise for yourself, maybe thinking about family or friends who either are no longer with you--ones you know would be cheering you on in your endeavor, or ones who, because of physical limitations, can't get out anymore. Just a thought:-)

Thanks for the words of encouragement and sharing your story - it helps so much to know that other people understand how hard this is! Par tof it is feeling guilty for being away from the family for an hour but my husband told me that was ridiculous, that I need that time to exercise, and I know he's right. So I'm gonna go again today no matter what! Good luck to you!

I've gotta go to the grocery store! I can't eat on plan if I don't have decent food!

For exercise I did a 25 min jog. This was different--my endurance was noticeably improved. A good thing--keeps me going!

Woo-hoo! A new low! Down 1.5 pounds--yiiii-hah!

For exercise I did a 35 min jog.

A large family, with seven children, moved to a new city. They were having a difficult time finding an apartment to live in. Many apartments were large enough, but the landlords objected to the large family. After several days of searching, the father asked the mother to take the four younger children to visit the cemetery, while he took the older three to find an apartment.

After they had looked most of the morning they found a place that was just right. Then the landlord asked the usual question:

"How many children do you have?"

The father answered with a deep sigh, "Seven...but four are with their dear mother in the cemetery."

Notes to self:
1. dietitian.com recommends Fat:25% Protein:15% Carbohydrate:60% (sometime ago)
2. Took 23 days to lose first 10 pounds (189-179)
3. Took 68 days to lose second 10 pounds (179-169)
4. Took 586 days to lose third 10 pounds (169-159) UPDATE!
5. And:-), 99 days and counting to lose fourth 10 pounds (159-149).

I actually missed my lunch. I still needed to eat before jogging, so I ate some triscuits with a bit of peanut butter (Smucker's all natural--no hydrogenated oil--just the peanuts, ma'am!). I did just fine--did a 25 min jog--no stops--actually I felt amazingly good! Instead of gatorade, I mixed a little orange juice with water and a pinch of salt.

Haven't checked my calories yet--may wait until the 2 weeks are over--maybe not. Even though I didn't eat a ton yesterday or on plan--I feel like I got plenty to eat.

Well, I'm back down to my low of 156.5 today. Breakfast and lunch were right on track. Supper was a bit of a mixed bag. And I outright cheated when I drank a soda--had run out of gatorade for after my jog and just needed a little something else to wet my whistle! Gatorade is not on this plan either, but calorie-wise, it's lower than the same amount of fruit juice. (Duh, I guess there's always water--haha!)

For my exercise, I did a 35 min jog (18-5-5-5-2). I was totally spent after this. I don't think I've ever felt that way. I've been kind of wiped out after a jog, but not to the point where I just couldn't go on. This was very different for me. I think I simply didn't eat enough an hour or so before I went out. It had been more like 3 or 4 hours before (not that I was hungry). So I learned another little thing--a good thing!

For the month of July, I jogged 19 days (goal was every other day)--woo-hoo!
