Success isn't a result of spontaneous combustion. You must set yourself on fire. --Arnold H. Glasow

Happy Monday!

Yesterday was just another "pooish" day--I ate 3 bowls of rice crispies (they have 0 fiber--didja know?). I had bought them for something at Holiday time and never used them. Drank about 20 oz water and no real exercise.

I'm looking forward to the next 3 days. My plan for these three days is pretty much as above, the 10% exercise, etc.

What I plan is B: 3-5 eggs (the whites, except 1 of the eggs remains whole), 6 shredded wheat n bran, 2 oz OJ, 1/3 c bran, C and B complex vitamins--usual for me.

L: 4 oz lean protein (beef, chicken, salmon), 1-2 cups steamed veg, 1 fruit (apple, pear, orange), 6 shredded wht n bran.

S: Same as lunch with 1 oz extra protein and a large salad added.

Snacks can include pickles, stewed tomatoes, carrots, celery. I also can have 2 cups of coffee with FF milk (usual is 2-4 cups). At least 90 oz water. No soda, no fast food.

For exercise 40-60 min of something for each of three days.

I'll let ya'll know how it goes. I can commit to me, myself, and I for 3 days, I'm sure. If I really feel a compulsion to eat or behave outside of this, I'll try really hard to wait 'til Thursday or hope it passes by then. Then I'll see. Maybe then I'll start the next 3 day success!

That's what I'm asking of myself in this area or plane of my life. I'm going to try real hard not to let the stress of the other planes of my life in on this one. This is very important to me.

Have a great diet and exercise day!

Hi everyone!

I reached 10% of my starting weight lost goal on 14 Sep '01. The next 10% is probably a big mind thing. I just don't seem to want it as much. Or I'm scare it'll be harder to keep off maybe. I haven't had a very hard time keeping the 10% off. That's what's on my mind today!

I did a very short walk yesterday and food choices could have been much better. I have today to make better ones, right? I drank about
45 oz water.

Have a good exercise day--enjoy your Sunday!

MichelleP on 05/19/2002:
Hi,

This may sound odd but I totally understand what you are saying. I have found that my biggest fear is that I will lose all my weight and gain it back. My husband keeps saying I am crazy that if I loose it I would not let myself regain it.... hmmm hope he is right! Good luck with the next 10%!! Take care and have a wonderful and happy Sunday!

Hey DD Buddies! Lots of tongue in cheek up there! Poo on my diet and exercise; up in smoke; smooshed in sourdough!

So I'm going to exercise come hell or high water today. And drink about 3/4 gallon of water. My right hamstring still seems to be my "stress/short of sleep" indicator. It doesn't bother me at all as I'm exercising.

Have a good food choice day, see ya' later!

Happy Friday to you all!

"Days pass, and the moment keeps slipping away." That's kind of how it's been--wasn't real committed these last few days. I did a couple of 20 min walks and didn't drink nearly enough water. Food was rich instead of completely on-diet and I didn't overeat. Skipped some meals yesterday.

It doesn't help when I don't get on here, because it's too easy to forget my good intentions. Hope you have a good food choice day!

Hello All!

I had a really good exercise day yesterday. My weight is down by 2 for the weekly, but those are the same two pounds that seem to keep hovering around. I want to break through the yoyo of that 2 pounds and exercise and sensibly eat my way to a "real" loss. I think I can, I think I can!

I drank >80 oz water. My exercise was NordicTrack 21 min (after the circuit aerobic workout), a circuit aerobic workout of 15 min on the Airdyne and 30 min of weights and leg lifts in between. Legs are much better--Thanks!

I took my measurements, but I need to compate them to last time--will include that tomorrow. Have a good food choice day!

shellybelly on 05/14/2002:
Hey! Great job with the exercise. You'll be down in no time! Keep it up and have a great day!! :-)

sacfatcity on 05/14/2002:
Stick with the exercise and you'll meet your goals. Just be patient and consistent. I know how you feel, seems I've been losing and gaining the same 2-3lbs for the past 2 yrs. Ugh! We can do it though! Just gotta take that jump off the plateau. :) Have a great day! P.s. didn't get to try the taco filling yet, but will let you know how it is when I do. :)

Hi! It does not look like anyone has been visiting you either. YOu can break through, I KNOW you can. Add about 10 to 15 min more to your excersize total daily. MAybe that will give you that extra push you need!

Happy Monday!

I did pretty well yesterday. I tried the Morningstar Farms Veggie Dogs and I'm a fan! The only thing is they are high in sodium. I drank >20 oz water and did no outside exercise. When I did some squats the other day I totally forgot to leave off the weights and so my quads are pretty sore even today. I will get in a good workout later though.

Hope you have a good food choice day!

I hope all the Mothers out there enjoy their day!

Thanks for all your fine comments! I had a very active day, and then I had to chase down my dog. My legs are so out of shape--it seems they're the first to go when I don't exercise with weights regularly.

I drank >80 oz water and ate 2 out of 3 meals on-diet. Exercise was 31 min on NordicTrack and 20 min on AirDyne with about 15 min of circuit weight in between. Then came the chasing episode. It feels good to be closer to what I know works. During the week my eating was out of control and I was eating a couple of slices of toast or a fresh scone or two with eggs and bacon for breakfast, I was such a zombie after about an hour. I can't remember how much the USDA Food Pyramid recommends complex carb wise, but I'm sure I was eating that much and I felt like garbage!

Hope you have a good food choice day . . . see you later!

Hope you're having a wonderful Saturday!

Yikes!!! That's about all I can say. I was so far off track and I am not one to trash food that's still viable, so given that combination, Thursday was still bad. Only a 20 min walk and 60 oz water. Friday: 1 meal out of 3 was "on diet," only 20 oz water, and no exercise. Plus I was realllly angry and frustrated all day.

So . . . this morning I got up and got on my NordicTrack for the first time in 11 days. I harbor alot of hope to make it back on track;-) I'm sooooo close. There's not alot of bad stuff left for me to eat, so I feel my chances of working back on program (or even CLOSE to program) are solid!

This is just the way it is for me--tough tough tough! You start out on a journey so excited and then you possibly get bogged down somewhere along the way. I seem to be in various states of "bogged down," but I'm not gonna give up--no matter how boring it is to write about or read about!

Hope you have a good exercise day! See ya' later . . .

Hey there...when I was losing, it was an on/off deal...some days I ate to lose, others I ate to gain...so just be patient with yourself, you're doing great, especially with your exercise and Nordic Track. Thanks for your comment, too. Love, Maria

I know what it can be like to get off of track even for a second! But keep your head up and know you can do this. Don't say what you are writing is boring, because to one of us, it may be that extra boost we need....

You'd better not give up!! Just have faith! And never say that you "only" took a 20-minute walk! That's more activity than many others get. You'll get out of this rut, and get excited again. Set short-term goals and reward yourself when you hit one! You're doing great! Shannon

Happy Thursday Everyone!

I really am getting back on track . . . today! One bite, sip, day, or moment at a time. Whatever it takes. I feel so strongly that I owe it to myself. I enjoyed my "leftoverfest" yesterday and the day before, but it's creeping up on one year since I became serious about this and I want to have a little momentum going forward.

I drank >60 oz water on Tuesday and about 20 yesterday. No exercise on Tues and 2 walks yesterday, 20 min and 30 min (in the hot-heat!). So the days were not total losses. I don't count a day as a total loss unless I just totally ignore everything. My weight was down to 167, but I'll wait until next Tuesday to post whatever it is then.

Gotta go . . . ya'll have a good food choice day!

Hi People of the Diet Diaries! Long time, no read, no write!

Well, my plan to "do my own thing" while the kinfolk were here fell by the wayside. That includes water, exercise, watching calories, and making good choices when possible. But . . . what the hey! I actually learned something (again!) about my eating habits. I knew that I noticed a long while ago that I get full/satisfied very shortly after I start eating. It was reinforced (again!) every time we went out to eat, which was often, in the last week. Didn't eat alot of sweets, but compensated for all that by eating a bunch of fatty meat, especially alot of bacon, which I almost never eat.

So I'm in hopes of rescuing my control! I'm chomping at the bit to get back to better choices, counting calories, and my exercise routine. You'll notice my weight is back up to 169 after hovering around 163 or 4 for the last week.

Will try to catch up with you all later. All the brave ones who added your pics to the page ought to pat yourselves on the back. See ya' later!
