Weight's up--I'm not shocked. Disappointed yeah, not shocked. I have to find a way to move this process forward. The frustration at this point feels almost as bad as being 189 did when I first started. Just without the shortness of breath when I walk up a hill like then. Glad I've at least maintained some semblance of fitness over all these years!

Now let the kicking and screaming begin as I move forward--hahaha! Really I do have to move forward. I'm not happy with my performance of the most basic things necessary for me to feel good about my process. Or in the most blunt terms, "Let me now get my sh*t together!" Thank you very much:-)

Try writing down everything you will eat tomorrow before bed tonight. Maybe even write down the exercise you are going to do and the time? I don't know - we all get in a funk and it is hard to pull our selfs out. I have been there often. Maybe what you need is to give yourself permision to take a couple days off - guilt free. I find that when I do that, and it is ok to eat whatever, I don't want it as bad as when it is a very strick no no.

workingit2 on 10/24/2007:
LOL my entry today was pretty much the same. Good luck to both of us! May we OWN each day that we are allowed to wake up on the right side of the grass!

Day 47: Calorie goal no--water goal no!

An absolutely fabulous day. Not.

I balked at all exercise because of a couple of minor inconveniences and lack of sleep. First it was a slightly stiff shoulder/neck that traveled from one side to the other. Then it was a catch in my calf--that did it. Oh and I only had about 4 hours sleep the night before (got 7 hours last night) and no nap.

It's just sooo funny, when someone new comes on here and I suggest to them to write down what they're eating to see for themselves if they have a handle on just how much/what they're eating. I can say for myself that yesterday (Sunday) I really didn't think I ate more than 2000 calories. I felt like I made pretty good choices and never came close to overeating. I guess what I'm saying is that my stock cuggestion to everyone else most certainly applies to me after all this time.

I've been down the road of planning every morsel and eating only what I've planned. I don't like doing it, but it's something I guess I'll have to do if I am going to get past this weight. (It's not something I can sustain for long because it connotes diet--I am not a dieter.) I'm not interested in South Beach or Atkins or Protein Power or any other diet. I did a diet from a book from the 70s that really kick-started my weight loss about 7 years ago, and maybe I'll revisit that. It was much more common sense than a diet. (But technically it was a regimented way of eating aka DIET and is the only time I've followed something called a DIET strictly.) I could do it again.

I'll be a better/smaller person for it--haha! I can see the writing on the wall, and I don't like it one bit--I don't eat all that much for crying out loud, but the margin for error is getting ever smaller as time passes and aging happens (or I don't get in a decent amount of activity). I rarely come close to overeating, much less bingeing, so I'll do it with a really bad attitude here soon;-) Damn!

As I was writing this it made me think of a diarist, Garlic--my age, a very disciplined eater. A member of OA. She made up her mind and stuck to a plan. She didn't eat whatever she wanted by a longshot. All these years later I'm struck by her approach and discipline. No complaining, just plan it/do it.

4-Day (Sa-Su-Mo-Tu) Challenge with these goals: Activities at least 15%, 1600 cal/day, at least 100 oz water/day

For Saturday, I made only the Activities goal--better than nothing.

I guess my ultimate goal should be to stay below 2000 calories for the foreseeable future, because if I can do that, I'll actually be back on track (considering everything). Since starting this Day Count I've had 21 days >2000 calories and only 1 day >3000 calories.

Plan for today: NTrack, Circuit Workout, Bike Ride, Walk

Have a nice day!

Miss Bee was in her eighties, and much admired for her sweetness and kindness to all.

The Pastor came to call on her one spring afternoon and she welcomed him into her Victorian parlor. She invited him to have a seat while she prepared a little tea for her guest. As he sat facing her old pump organ, the young minister noticed a glass bowl of water sitting on top of it. The bowl was filled with water and floating in it, of all things, was a condom! Imagine the pastor's shock at such a sight, imagine his curiosity! Surely Miss Bee had flipped or something, but he certainly couldn't mention the strange sight in her parlor.

When she returned with tea and cookies, they began to chat and the pastor tried to stifle his curiosity. But the bowl of water and its strange floater soon got the better of him and he could resist any longer. "Miss Bee," he said, "I wonder if you would tell me about this." (pointing to the bowl) "Oh yes," she replied, "Isn't it wonderful? I was walking downtown last fall and found this little package on the sidewalk. It said to put it on the organ and keep it wet, and it would prevent disease.

And you know, I think it's working! I haven't had a cold all winter."

For my activity: Nothing. Again. Period.

Day 44: Calorie goal no--water goal no!

I seem to have acquired a "don't want to exercise" cootie--haha! I hope you don't catch it! So I was having yet another stale day yesterday, so I sort of took the following biorhythm results with a grain of salt--hahaha!

Your general well-being is momentarily quite bad. Tendency: Declining and getting worse promptly. Physical: Today you feel beaten and you'd prefer to lie down all day. If you can arrange it, why not do it? Emotional: You want to hide away in the farthest corner. If you can arrange it, do it because you're going to have a bad day. Intellectual: You spend these days without any plan or aim. Also, your reactions leave much to be desired.

But then you think maybe there's something to it. Because the projection for the next week or so doesn't look so great either. (Hey it's free:-) So with that little gem of wisdom or crap, as the case may be, I'll try to pick up the pieces and move forward!

I'm not completely worried yet, but if I went by the results of the biorhythm and essentially started to stick my head in the sand for the next week or so, the only thing I think I'd accomplish would be a major setback.

I'll be doing a 4-Day (Sa-Su-Mo-Tu) Challenge with these goals: Activities at least 15%, 1600 cal/day, at least 100 oz water/day.

Plan for today: NTrack, Circuit Workout, Bike Ride, Walk

Day 43: Calorie goal no--water goal no!

Yesterday is a perfect reason why I usually don't buy S&V Pringles. At least I had the presence of mind to only buy one can haha! Then there was the BMT from Subway--I don't get any other kind of sandwich there--probably one of the highest fat ones they make.

Gotta get back after it--today will be better foodwise, but not perfect!
