Yesterday was the halfway point to 84 Days, so I've included some numbers below. In the grand scheme I'm pretty happy, though they should improve as I get closer to the end of the 84 Days. I'd like to see averages of 15% activities and calories closer to 1700.

Plan for today: Utterly unmotivated--don't know if I'll do anything.

Weight's the same--on my measurements I'm up an inch overall.

Was supposed to get my wt trng done on Friday--no-go because I really needed a day to recover from all the yardwork. Then Saturday my time wasn't my own for the most part and by the time I had the time--all I wanted to do was to take it easy--so I did. Except for the bike ride and walk.

Missing my circuit for many days wasn't what I had in mind--but if things go the way they should with Mother Nature, I won't have to do any strenuous yardwork for at least a month, so I won't have an excuse. I won't get it in today either, so that's that!

As for a free day--Friday seems to pretty much end up as one--so that's going to be the plan going forward.

I found myself so sleep deprived last week. I'm nearly caught up--about 8 hrs last night and nearly 8 the night before.

Day 37: Calorie goal no--water goal yes!

Yech! Wednesday night I mistakenly got a taste of diet coke--wrong drink order with a hamburger as well--what a diabolical taste and aftertaste and aftertaste and aftertaste! I don't tolerate aspartame in any form, except the occasional piece of gum. It's been years since I tasted a diet drink--luckily I was able to exchange it for a regular one. And the hamburger wasn't really any good either after the first bite, but I was sooo hungry. Not a good choice--but the easy-sleazy one haha! The indigestion from the hamburger finally abated around 5 a.m.

It was the first time since starting this particular day count to record a calorie count much above 2800. Some re-focusing is in order! So much for what started out as my mini "free day," which I was enjoying until it ended in such a disgusting way!

Yesterday I didn't have to mow quite as much as usual--thank goodness! Despite the calories--I ate just enough for what I was up to with all the yard work:-)

I have been doing some tidying up in the garden too, but not to the extent that you have. Its only a little garden, and doesnt need a lot of work, thank goodness. You must have used up a lot of calories doing that!!!! Have a good weekend :)

((((((Biscotti))))))) thank you SO MUCH for being such a great source of support. There is nothing worse than having a mini free day and having your free meal taste poorly..or maybe that is a good thing? I am working hard to getting back to the level of eating right so I can have a 'free' meal once a week. I think it would backfire on me right now. And I agree, Diet Coke is NASTY! ugh

I include the jogging (or no jogging as is the case currently) because it was in my original set of goals for this particular day count. I'll probably start back jogging regularly when I get below 155-ish.

To refresh, I'm doing an 84-Day Count with these goals: 1700 cals/day, possibly jog 3 days/week, circuit workout (full body wt trng) 2-3 days/week, drink 80-100 oz water/day. Originally it was to drop 10 pounds, but I'm hoping it will also encourage me to keep consistent with my weight training hereafter!

Day 34: Calorie goal no--water goal no! Missed out on my walk--that's my first actual missed "planned exercise" in awhile--when I've done at least ONE of my planned activities. In other words if I blow off planned exercise--it's normally the whole thing!

I'm down 2.5 pounds on my weigh-in. On my measurements I'm down almost 1.5 inches overall!

Yes Donkey, I'm aware of the concept you mentioned--and I'm really good at it--sometimes--at least the upper limit--hahaha! Really though (for the moment) as long as I don't overeat (which to me is eating beyond fullness), I feel pretty successful. That and not eating well over 2500 calories day in/day out.

My exercise and weight training is the focus for me at the moment while I'm healthy. The counting is just a way for me to make somewhat consistent entries.

I am going to do what Donkey suggested to McWoo and try to hit my calorie, exercise and water goals for three days straight and hopefully pull myself out of this calorie failure! =)

3 days of not meeting goals... BUT I am pleased to see that you got in your exercise. And it does seem that you got quite a bit of water, even if you did not meet your goal. This sounds a lot like a day that I would have. I do not think that your calories were very excessive. OK, Day 31 was a little high but not by as much as you might think, but that's only my opinion. It is good that you do not keep your calories lower at the same level all the time. This is called calorie cycling and I've heard great things about it because it keeps your metabolism "guessing" and it also allows you to eat more than usual occassionally.

Try to work on the water goal tomorrow! :-) I will think of you every time I reach for my water bottle :-)

I also like your quote. There are some people I know that are always "happy." It's like NOTHING can get them down. but, that has to be an act! Meaning, we all have our emotions and a diary is the best place to get them out - within reason. If you're always negative, that can have bad effects as well.

Just a little better--thank goodness I was able to get in my exercise! No soreness after my very active day yesterday means I'm starting to feel like I'm nearly on an even keel--like some scheduling conflict can't and won't throw me into a tailspin. I have to get there and stay there!

My averages for everything else are actually pretty good for the week. I did sort of set yesterday as a free day--let's just say it wasn't quite as FREE as it could have been. I don't know if I'll make it an every Tuesday thing--at least I can try to keep the calories down UNTIL next Tuesday!

(Daily: Calories s/b no more than 1700 and water s/b at least 84 oz.)

Hi,thanks for your comment.I bought Alfie from a private person,and saw her mum but as you said it could just be a ploy.He has been to the vet this afternoon, as after i bathed him (about 5 times now as he really smelt but i think most of that was coming from his ear infection)alfie was scratting really bad could'nt find anything,but with the state he was in a thought it was best to get some flea treatment.This resulting him being sick again from the car journey.Anyway it is all trial and error.Have a great day,Keep up the good work,Julie

You know, I was reading your entry yesterday about the 160's and I feel the same way. I hate being in the 160's and I can't seem to stay out of them! I started weighing myself every day but only recording it on thursdays and I was shocked and sickened to see one day this past week where I actually weighed 169! OMG If I ever see 170 again I will probably pass out. I guess the best we can do is attack it one day at a time. Have a great day!

On my weigh-in I'm back to where I was 2 weeks ago and on my measurements I'm down .25 inch overall. I'm going to start weighing every day--haven't done that in a few years--I'll only record it here on Saturdays and Tuesdays.

It's a little old being right back where I was--I'm still not bent out of shape about it--but the 160s are tough for me to get past. (I think this is about the 4th or 5th time.) I know that sounds like BS--but if I can get past it--I'm better off in many ways, not least of all in my psyche:-)

The gain could be because of the more consistent weight training I'm doing (5 days out of a possible 10 of full body wt trng for September) or the two essentially "free days" I had over the weekend--doesn't matter--I'm still doing pretty well. My back has returned to normal for now--a huge bullet dodged!

I know that if I buckle down with the food and continue on with my activity that I'll see changes for the better--it's just that simple!

It doesn't sound like BS at all to me! Dieting is a life-long process. there is no end and no end to learning either! Congrats on a good calorie and water day! One thing that I believe is good about your eating is that you really mix up calorie days...this is good for the metabolism. It's good not to have all low days or all high. This is my plan the next few months! As always, thanks for the advice. I always take it.
