For my activity:
Fri: Weedeating 1.5 hrs/Mowing 1 hr/Clean-up 20 min
Sat: Nothing

I had so much weedeating to do that I pushed myself like a blithering idiot, which resulted in great big gobs of muscle spasms, stiffness and pain yesterday. Needless to say I didn't get the bike ride or walk in on Friday!

My back is much better today. It shows that I should break these jobs up when the work is out of hand AND that I could use more consistency in my circuit workouts (weight training). AGAIN AGAIN AGAIN . . . I tell ya' it gets old, but I don't know what the alternative is. Giving up to some degree doesn't work, because I find myself two steps back every time. EVERY single TIME! I just have to persevere and do what I can to build on it all.

Plan for today: Bike, jog/walk

I read somewhere that gardening is one of the main causes of injury in the home. There is nothing worse than stiffeneing up after exercising muscles you dont normally use. Take it easy Biscottibody !!

good on the excerise .. i watched a progarm today on "you and your diet" with dr mike , he had some interesting things to say .. #1 tip was the only thing white in your kitchen (other them dairy)should only be cauliflower,fish and eggs # two tip was bet a buddy for excerise (one you can count on to give you heck if you dont) and phone her/him and let then know when you have done your walk/jog/bike whatever for the day ... i'll let you know if it works

Wed: Bike Ride 21 min/3.8 mi; Walk 15 min
Thur: Circ Aer Wkt using Airdyne (12 min/1.2 mi)
Fri: Bike Ride 31 min/5.7 mi; Phone Call 3 hrs
Sat-Tues: Nothing
Wed: Driving 4 hrs
Thurs: Nothing

Was able to fit into some shorts I couldn't button about 6 weeks ago! Didn't do measurements on Tuesday, but I was down a half-pound on my weigh-in. Really have slacked off on exercise--midsummer break I guess you could call it! Not good. Still haven't explored more day counting/lower fat goal. Must do so!

I've been writing my food down, but as it happens--for the umpteenth time--I haven't kept up with Fitday. So 1 August seems as good a time as any to start again with it. At least it's on my agenda!

Plan for today: Bike, walk, yard work

What a great feeling fitting into shorts you haven't been able to. Congrats! Also, thanks for the warm welcome! I went out last night and bought the book "Overcoming Overeating", you suggested. I'm really enjoying it. I'm not finished yet, but I definitely think I'm learning something and will implement things that it's suggesting. Thanks for suggesting it!!!

Mon: Bike Ride 28 min/4.8 mi; Walk 20 min; Circ Aer Wkt using Airdyne (16 min/3.3 mi)
Tues: Nothing

Days 139 & 141 were 0 for 2 for the routine--good breakfast and walk. Neither accomplished. Day 140 was 1 for 2 for the routine. Walk only.

I'm down a half-pound on my weigh-in Tuesday. On my measurements I'm down a little over 1.5 inches. I was considering not weighing in this week--because it seems week in and week out I'm up, I'm down, I'm all around--haha!

The day counting stops at 141 this time. To the best of my knowledge it had something to do with a weight goal, which I obviously didn't make. I'm going to start a 90-day count in an effort to lower my fat intake over time. Maybe starting tomorrow--maybe later.

Plan for today: Bike, walk (done)

I think we're just in the "summer limbo" right now. Bike riding sounds like fun but I'm too chicken to try it and I have no bike. Guess I'll just stay on my feet right now. I do know what that punching bag thing is you talked about. My kids had them. Hey, that would probably be a good thing to take out angry aggression on AND good arm exercise! Days 129 through 136 were ? . ? . ? for the routine--good breakfast and walk. I really haven't been counting and my strategy to have counting force me to make an entry didn't really work either. Day 137 was 1 for 2--had a good breakfast.

But still . . . I'm fighting, though I sometimes feel like a child's toy punching bag--the ones from my childhood that stood about 4 feet tall that you had to blow up and that had sand in a little compartment in the bottom that brought it back upright after punching it to the ground. I guess they don't make these anymore, huh!?! Probably something about them that has been deemed completely unsafe or politically incorrect haha!

I've been engaged in a food fight lately--I guess the food's been winning--go food! Hahaha!

On the weighing in every day for a week: Average for the week was 166, which was what I weighed in at on Tuesday. On my measurements I'm up slightly less than 2 inches. Weighing every day is tedious at this point, though I may revisit it again in the future. For now once a week is just enough for me.

Just when I thought I was in pretty good shape (fitness-wise), because I can jog 5-12 min at a clip (currently), I had to go and shatter my illusion by getting on a bicycle (I got a brand-new one--woo-hoo!) and ruining it--hahaha! Really, I know now why I used to be in such good shape. It was nothing for me to ride for 45 min to an hour 2-3 days per week, with a good mix of flats and hills. And take a longer ride once/week.

Plan for today: Circuit workout, NTrack, walk

My little jog was just great--haha! I took my dog along and someone's teacup-sized chihuahua (possibly a puppy) came out into the street after us. My dog wanted to eat it, but I kept jogging--having to pull my dog (for about a minute) like I was some kind of horse pulling a double-wide--haha! It was probably hilarious from a distance. I was able to finish my next to nothing, spot of jog!

whoa, you have a really strong dog!!! i wish i could change careers..but, you know, everything requires work...lots of it. i would love to be a nurse practicioner, but i think it may involve WAY too much math and science. it would take too much time to complete...and money. i will have to wait out this teaching thing. if i don't get anything by September, then i will definitely look into other options. this time of year there are no jobs...august should have a bunch.

Thanks for you comment, it makes me think I may live well into my 90s....now I only want to do that if I actually feel good! haha. What kind of dog do you have? I have 2 german shephards so I know exactly what you mean when you say your dog wanted to eat that "rat of a dog". Dogs are awesome work out buddies though, even if they are stubborn and obnoxious at times: it just puts more work on our bodys thus resulting in more definded arms from pulling them! haahaha!

good idea to keep tracking your weight...it will probably motivate you more, day to day! I love bike riding...but recently, i've just been using it for one purpose...to get me to and from yoga. the reason being, it's been hot and i'd rather just exercise inside. haha. i also like to ride it at the park, but not until my class is over!

Weight is still 164! Sickening or small favor--doesn't matter--I know it's not gonna go up if I stick with my exercise routine, but I've got to step it up and try to lower the calories too. On measurements I got back that half-inch, though I feel leaner than last week. I'll call it a wash and move on. And I'm going to weigh daily again until this scale drought or stuckness ends.

And I know it gets old--sorry to repeat it yet again--but my body looooooves this range of weight. And at my age, it seems to be fighting me to stay right about here, at the least! Damn mother nature, damn her--hahaha!

you go girl your doing great ... just remember muscle weights more then fat and your gaining muscle so you need to track your inches you lose as well ..
