Weight: 161.5

Start: 189 (June 2001)
Low: 150 (Nov 2006)
Current BMI=27.7 My Realistic BMI Goal=22.8 (133)

For my activity: NordicTrack 57 min/6.7 mi; Circ Aer Wkt using Airdyne (12 min/2.8 mi); Short Walk

Day 35: Calorie goal no--water goal yes!

I include the jogging (or no jogging as is the case currently) because it was in my original set of goals for this particular day count. I'll probably start back jogging regularly when I get below 155-ish.

To refresh, I'm doing an 84-Day Count with these goals: 1700 cals/day, possibly jog 3 days/week, circuit workout (full body wt trng) 2-3 days/week, drink 80-100 oz water/day. Originally it was to drop 10 pounds, but I'm hoping it will also encourage me to keep consistent with my weight training hereafter!

Plan for today: NTrack, Bike Ride, Walk

Have a nice day!

well, yay for reaching your water goal. that's good. Be happy you met one thing. tomorrow you can aim to get both! That's life: try harder the next time around and learn from your mistakes! (LOL, I'm learning and trying at the pace of a snail...)

Patstime on 10/10/2007:
Thanks for the comment! I have alot to learn and it is great to see how everyone else is doing it. I need to have specific goals too! Good job!

Donkey on 10/10/2007:
Thank you for going over your 84 Day Count goals with us again. I had lost track of the specifics. You are almost halfway there!

workingit2 on 10/10/2007:
Whew once I get better I am going to get into my exercise again like nobody's business! You GO girl!

greengirl on 10/11/2007:
Keep up the good work Biscottibody. You are doing well with the exercise :o)

greengirl on 10/11/2007:
Biscottibody, when I read your comment to me about not feeling so hot, it gave me quite a giggle, but I knew what you meant. Thanks, by the way. It means a lot to get a response, and you always talk sense !! Well usually LOL :0)

For my activity: NordicTrack 21 min/2.3 mi

Day 34: Calorie goal no--water goal no! Missed out on my walk--that's my first actual missed "planned exercise" in awhile--when I've done at least ONE of my planned activities. In other words if I blow off planned exercise--it's normally the whole thing!

I'm down 2.5 pounds on my weigh-in. On my measurements I'm down almost 1.5 inches overall!

Yes Donkey, I'm aware of the concept you mentioned--and I'm really good at it--sometimes--at least the upper limit--hahaha! Really though (for the moment) as long as I don't overeat (which to me is eating beyond fullness), I feel pretty successful. That and not eating well over 2500 calories day in/day out.

My exercise and weight training is the focus for me at the moment while I'm healthy. The counting is just a way for me to make somewhat consistent entries.

Plan for today: Circuit Workout, NTrack, Walk

Have a nice day!

Thank you for your entry in my diary. So much to do and think about over here. *sigh*

I am going to do what Donkey suggested to McWoo and try to hit my calorie, exercise and water goals for three days straight and hopefully pull myself out of this calorie failure! =)

Donkey on 10/08/2007:
3 days of not meeting goals... BUT I am pleased to see that you got in your exercise. And it does seem that you got quite a bit of water, even if you did not meet your goal. This sounds a lot like a day that I would have. I do not think that your calories were very excessive. OK, Day 31 was a little high but not by as much as you might think, but that's only my opinion. It is good that you do not keep your calories lower at the same level all the time. This is called calorie cycling and I've heard great things about it because it keeps your metabolism "guessing" and it also allows you to eat more than usual occassionally.

Try to work on the water goal tomorrow! :-) I will think of you every time I reach for my water bottle :-)

I have to mention the quote as well - holy man, it's amazing how this quote matched my mood yesterday! You'll never know...thanks for posting it!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 10/06/2007:
Good calories. totally fine. its ok to not get all planned exercise in. focus on that today. thanks for the continued support! its gonna be a lifelong process for me. i just wish i had someone by my side the whole time - a partner.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 10/07/2007:
Well, so you were MIA on Saturday! hehe, you must be busy! :)

I also like your quote. There are some people I know that are always "happy." It's like NOTHING can get them down. but, that has to be an act! Meaning, we all have our emotions and a diary is the best place to get them out - within reason. If you're always negative, that can have bad effects as well.

anyway, good quote and keep on moving, biscotti! :)

Hi,thanks for your comment.I bought Alfie from a private person, and saw her mum but as you said it could just be a ploy.He has been to the vet this afternoon, as after i bathed him (about 5 times now as he really smelt but i think most of that was coming from his ear infection)alfie was scratting really bad could'nt find anything, but with the state he was in a thought it was best to get some flea treatment. This resulting him being sick again from the car journey.Anyway it is all trial and error.Have a great day,Keep up the good work,Julie

Horn_Of_Plenty on 10/03/2007:
well good for you on a free day. like you have said, you gotta live a little and eat and do what makes you happy. whatever it takes for you to get back on track is worth it.

Donkey on 10/03/2007:
I think you're doing pretty well. Do you feel that way too?

workingit2 on 10/04/2007:
You know, I was reading your entry yesterday about the 160's and I feel the same way. I hate being in the 160's and I can't seem to stay out of them! I started weighing myself every day but only recording it on thursdays and I was shocked and sickened to see one day this past week where I actually weighed 169! OMG If I ever see 170 again I will probably pass out. I guess the best we can do is attack it one day at a time. Have a great day!

For my activity: Bike Ride 26 min/4.3 mi; NordicTrack 39 min/4.6 mi; Walk 10 min

Day 27: Calorie goal yes--water goal yes!

On my weigh-in I'm back to where I was 2 weeks ago and on my measurements I'm down .25 inch overall. I'm going to start weighing every day--haven't done that in a few years--I'll only record it here on Saturdays and Tuesdays.

It's a little old being right back where I was--I'm still not bent out of shape about it--but the 160s are tough for me to get past. (I think this is about the 4th or 5th time.) I know that sounds like BS--but if I can get past it--I'm better off in many ways, not least of all in my psyche:-)

The gain could be because of the more consistent weight training I'm doing (5 days out of a possible 10 of full body wt trng for September) or the two essentially "free days" I had over the weekend--doesn't matter--I'm still doing pretty well. My back has returned to normal for now--a huge bullet dodged!

I know that if I buckle down with the food and continue on with my activity that I'll see changes for the better--it's just that simple!

Plan for today: NTrack, Bike Ride, Walk

Hope you get some good exercise today!

It doesn't sound like BS at all to me! Dieting is a life-long process. there is no end and no end to learning either! Congrats on a good calorie and water day! One thing that I believe is good about your eating is that you really mix up calorie days...this is good for the metabolism. It's good not to have all low days or all high. This is my plan the next few months! As always, thanks for the advice. I always take it.

Day 25: Calorie goal no--water goal no!

Calories were at 1800+ already when I ate some really good pizza--so I didn't help myself out, but the pizza was sooo good--well worth it!

Another day pretty much devoid of activity--time passed and I lost my motivation--not to mention OBE. I did a little housework and some niggling chores I'd been putting off, but it's not all done by any means--hahaha! (Speaking for the real me--that's the understatement of the century.)

I did, however, hear a teeny-tiny sound while I was in the shower, which led me to sing "Philadelphia Freedom" (Elton John). Funny how one sound can spark a memory! To HoP: that song has a little french horn riff. Interestingly, the sound also made me think of Peter Gabriel's "Shock the Monkey," which is one of my all-time favorite songs as well as videos.

How in the hell did it get to be October eve already?

like you, i cannot believe it's October already! completely scary about how fast this month has passed! i wish the weather would stay though! we have been very lucky here in the northeast to have summer like weather for just about the entire month of September. I'm getting nervous for the winter weather because I hate it!! It's so much more fun to just step outside and not worry what you're going to wear!

Jack was going to be married to Jill, so his father sat him down for a little fireside chat. He says, "Jack, let me tell you something. On my wedding night in our honeymoon suite, I took off my pants and handed them to your mother and said, here - try these on." So, she did and said, "These are too big, I can't wear them." I replied, "...exactly. I wear the pants in this family and I always will. Ever since that night we have never had any problems."

"Hmmm," says Jack. He thinks that might be a good thing to try.

Hope you get some good exercise today!

So on his honeymoon, Jack takes off his pants and says to Jill, "Here try these on." So she does and says, "they're too big, they don't fit me."

Jack says, "...exactly. I wear the pants in this family and I always will, and I don't want you ever to forget that!"

Then Jill takes off her pants, hands them to Jack and says, "Here, you try on mine." So he does and says, "I can't get into your pants." So Jill says, "...exactly. And if you don't change your smartass attitude, you never will."
