good idea to keep tracking your weight...it will probably motivate you more, day to day! I love bike riding...but recently, i've just been using it for one purpose...to get me to and from yoga. the reason being, it's been hot and i'd rather just exercise inside. haha. i also like to ride it at the park, but not until my class is over!

Hm, no good breakfast today huh? I hope it was good a least and I hope you walk a bit more to burn off some extra calories! Good Luck!

For my activity: NordicTrack 31 min/3.1 mi

Day 126 was 0 for 2 for the routine--good breakfast and walk. Neither accomplished.

Weight is still 164! Sickening or small favor--doesn't matter--I know it's not gonna go up if I stick with my exercise routine, but I've got to step it up and try to lower the calories too. On measurements I got back that half-inch, though I feel leaner than last week. I'll call it a wash and move on. And I'm going to weigh daily again until this scale drought or stuckness ends.

And I know it gets old--sorry to repeat it yet again--but my body looooooves this range of weight. And at my age, it seems to be fighting me to stay right about here, at the least! Damn mother nature, damn her--hahaha!

Plan for today: Circuit workout, jog/walk

Have a good day!

Days 122 & 123 were 1 for 2 for the routine--good breakfast and walk. Yesterday I guess I had half of a "good" breakfast--steel-cut oats. I ended up doing no activity on Thursday.

I tried some pomegranate juice out of curiosity. The taste is pretty godawful, not really pomegranatish--probably need to try a different brand. But it was quite satisfying--I really don't know what the health claims are except that it's reputed to be higher in antioxidants than other fruit juices.

I feel a little more motivated now than ever--is that possible? That forced break was probably a good thing.

Plan for today: Circuit workout, walk

Have a good day!

Thur: NordicTrack 41 min/4.5 mi

Sat: Cutting large tree limbs w/chainsaw 35 min; Cleaning up/hauling stuff from yard 1.5 hours
Sun: Cutting w/chainsaw 40 min; Bundling small limbs; Mowing/weedeating/cleanup 2 hrs
Mon: Walk 10 min
Tues: Walk 45 min; Mowing/cleanup 1.5 hrs
Wed: Shopping with cart 3 hrs

Day 114 was 1 for 2 for the routine--good breakfast and walk. Walk only.

Days 115-121 were . . . who knows--except for the walk above.

In about 20 days the "day counting" for this session will be coming to an end. It gets me back here, so I'll probably come up with some other thing to count following the termination of this one.

I weighed in and measured yesterday--didn't weigh-in on Saturday. Weight was the same and I'm down a half-inch overall on my measurements--most significantly in waist and abdomen. I've been marking my food down in my little notebook this past week, but skipped Fitday logging simply because if I don't do it every day on that day, it's more than a drag to backtrack. (I need to be disciplined about it with no excuses.) And then for today and yesterday, I'm not doing either one. Will get back to Fitday tomorrow. I'm pretty sure I'll get in my exercise today as well.

The rain. I think it's rained every day for the last 3 weeks. I was finally able to get my mower back and in between raindrops get the mowing done. It was so humid on Sunday that my sportsbra was completely soaked--I generally don't sweat THAT much for that amount of time. It's pointless to watch the weather forecast because it's inevitably wrong. For instance, this upper level low has been sitting over our area (and moving back and forth and up and down) for what seems like forever. This isn't normal weather. It doesn't ever happen in Summer. EVER!!! And so maybe it will simply be here for the foreseeable future--hahaha!

It's supposed to be HOT HOT HOT here--and that's what I've come to expect and enjoy every summer. It's supposed to be hot starting on Monday. But since it's so f*@#ing wet, it's going to be damn humid as well. And if it's going to be humid, I'd just as well see the rain continue on until October for crying out loud! I guess we'll see!

Last week I went to the rinkiest, dinkiest fitness center around and was pleasantly surprised by the treadmill(s) there. Some brand I've never heard of. Same with the elliptical trainer(s). I was going to remember the names to look them up--that's how off-brandish they are (or completely out of touch I am). I looked at treadmills online several months ago when I thought I was going to have to retire my NordicTrack and the brand at the fitness center didn't come up.

I've been around a few fitness centers and know of a few brands fitness centers usually have--Precor for the ellipticals, for instance, but these were unknown to me. The treadmill(s) may be quite good in fact--the cushioning seemed adequate--no overt pain or soreness the next day. Maybe I can use the treadmill to push myself speedwise as the scale goes down. I'd love to see if I can make a dent in my 12-min test, which has been a big ho-hum the last few times.

I'll be back to use both for sure.

Plan for today: Circuit workout, walk

Have a good day!

Good for you on the exercise and on the half inch down on your measurements!! Thanks for your advice, I know its common sense, but it doesnt take much to discourage me at the moment. I know there is no quick fix, and I should stick with what I know works in the long run. Have a great day :o)

YAYYYYY on the exercise! Good for you! Big Smile!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 07/06/2007:
yeah, precor ellipticals/treadmills are GREAT! whenever i read about your activity, it makes me smile because you include the most "exotic" (not really the right word) activities! from cutting trees down to hauling stuff in the yard...to..uh...driving! LOL. the driving one still is a little tricky in my mind. however, I HATE driving...so for me its quite an endeavor...especially when i'm not familiar with the area. it seems that sometimes you spend a lot of time in the car!

i see you wrote your "20 days" are over. how do you decide when it ends? I've been counting for almost 100 days now...and i will not end until i am under 1800 calories per day. gosh, it's going to be a lot longer, too. RIght now, tomorrow is day 100! I thought about it for a moment...and realized it's only a little less than 1/2 of the year! that is scary!

will you start counting again?....you always do. oh, but it says dayt 114...and the 115-121. you don't have to explain if its complicated!

For my activity lately:
Sat: Nothing
Sun: Walk 55 min
Mon: Driving 2.5 hours
Tues: Nothing

Day 110 was 0 for 2 for the routine--good breakfast and walk. Neither accomplished.

Day 111 was 2 for 2 for the routine--good breakfast and walk. Both accomplished.

Days 112 & 113 was 0 for 2 for the routine--good breakfast and walk. Neither accomplished.

I was less anxious yesterday after my weigh-in--was really beginning to think I'd never make a dent in that weight. I was down a pound yesterday. On my measurements I'm down a half-inch overall for the week. And 3 inches since May 29th (167). As an incentive I'm going to weigh again on Saturday. Also I changed my goal weight below to 142, which will be 25% of my highest weight. Again I don't have high hopes for attaining that number. All I can do is try like hell!

This weight (163-167) proves to be the toughest for me to get out of. It's like climbing a hill that you never seem to reach the top of. You'd think I'd see it coming at me. I seem absolutely powerless to its inevitable latching on and entrenchment. And this is about the 4th time, though I haven't actually counted.

When I hit 150, effortlessly and inadvertently, last fall I should have counted it as a gift--having done nothing to achieve it. I knew that it was stress-related, tied to odd eating patterns and somewhat came about because I had ceased all weight training. Why I couldn't just pick back up and let the chips fall where they may, I'll never know. I can only move forward now with where I am.

Though I did fairly well last week, I must try to be vigilant to continue to lose. It's not just the exercise, it's the whole picture: the attitude, food choices and getting plenty of exercise. Oh, and extraordinary patience. I don't have any choice on the patience this time. And I will try to acquire permanent vigilance.

Also, last week I did well putting the previous day behind me as I started on the present day. I know some people do this automatically, but I really pushed myself to do this last week. It worked in my favor.

Plan for today: Elliptical or treadmill, circuit workout, jog/walk

Have a good day!

sometimes i also tend to not want to count everything as "exercise!" i feel like i want to become a more active person overall...some some things we do should just be "routine" rather than planned exercise. although, exercise can be routine, too. but, the point is, it's good to be physical all day without even realizing that it is exercise. i think i just confused both of us!
