I used to keep a running tab on weekly calories deficits but then I drove me too crazy because I would try to calculate after huge binges what I needed to do to make up for them...I was just getting too stressed out with myself! no, it's more of a day to day thing (but currently i am on a 65 day plan which I am trying to using to speed up the weight loss to look my best on a vacation in december).

Ever notice that even the busiest people are never too busy to tell you just how busy they are. --Law of Life and Nature

For my activity:
Mon & Tues: Nothing

Days 232 & 233 were not good. A personal food fight of sorts and yet another 3000-cal day.

I did learn a little more about the upper limit of my food intake as Timmy the Tapeworm reared his ugly head and took over yesterday! I think I could have entered a food competition, though I didn't eat much differently into the night than I have lately. What I mean is I don't have the "overeating at night" problem I had several years ago and up until about the beginning of this year.

I needed this day. It was more that food was available and I was eating it and pacing myself all the way until about 5-ish, when I was actually full and began to taper off. I also could have been doing some sort of exercise by then.

Here's the difference compared to some years ago: Before I became as active as I am--lifting weights, jogging regularly, etc--I could eat just the same as I did yesterday, but be full, possibly have some degree of indigestion and be miserable for what seemed like hours. Now, I guess because (perhaps) my metabolism overall is a little faster than it was in my virtually inactive days (though I don't really know), I don't have that problem now. All I can do is speculate. And I haven't been "virtually inactive" for about 5 years now:-) I certainly can put away the calories. It's not all that scary to me, it's more of a learning experience. Really, it takes alot of effort to overeat if you think about it.

I'm changing my calories above to 1700. We'll see how it goes, though unless I actually start sticking to the goals I've set, it doesn't make any difference. Today I suspect I'll be around 2000 calories, though I'd just like to have a decent cal deficit at the end of the day.

I'm at a very different spot right now. I didn't feel this way the last time I was in the mid-150s. I don't want to backslide of course, but I can see (in light of the last 2 days) how fleeting my resolve can be. I also know how I can surprise myself, get on the right thing and flash forward.

Yesterday was ALMOST completely purposeful, I just thought I'd stop shoveling it in a bit sooner than I did. At some point it became a bit of a game. Quite possibly I can owe it to my anxiety about the time change (on the 29th). I hate it (post DST) when it gets dark at 5:30 p.m.--I know it's worse for ya'll farther north--and it seems the older I get the more I hate it. Other than that, I don't know. I wanted to eat and I enjoyed it, but I certainly didn't need it.

I've gone about 4 days with only two cups of coffee, which is sufficient. It's tough not to have that third one, but more often than not, I just didn't need it or want it.

As for my weigh-in this week (Tues), I'm up 2.5#--didn't do measurements--I know they'd be up because my shorts were a tad tighter the other day. Also I'm going back to weighing every day. However, I'll only record a change on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

As for my shoes--they're the Brooks Glycerin 4.

Plan for today: Circuit workout, jog, walk

Have a lovely day!

Fri: Jog 18 min/Walk 20 min
Sat: Nothing
Sun: Circ Aer Wkt using Airdyne (22 min/5.1 mi)

Days 229, 230 & 231 were good.

So I christened my new shoes--haha! That makes my "long run" for the week, even though it's obviously my only outing so far. I just wanted to see how they'd feel--good! I hadn't jogged since 4 Oct. It was nice and cool and unstifling, just lovely!

Mercy, but I've been hungry today, but it's getting better the more I eat--haha--not a good thing! My workout yesterday was rather strenuous, since I hadn't done it for a little more than a week. I was energized, but sometimes it triggers hunger--most times not. I attribute the hunger more to not getting enough sleep the last couple of days, whereas Saturday's food choices were more out of boredom.

Plan for today: Airdyne, jog, walk

Have a lovely day!

Day 228 was good.

I'm at a bit of a crossroads today. I was thinking, "I didn't lose 17 pounds (since Feb) overnight, and I won't put it back on that quickly either--haha!" For some reason that thought warmed the cockles of my heart!

Back to the exercise groove for me, though the break was okay for a few days.

For my activity: Walk 50 min

Day 221 was good. Didn't get in my circuit workout, but that's just fine assuming I get it in today.

Plan for today: Circuit workout, jog, walk

A man who lived in a block of apartments thought it was raining and put his head out the window to check. As he did so, a glass eye fell into his hand. He looked up to see where it came from, just in time to notice a young woman looking down. "Is this yours?" he asked.

She said, "Yes, could you bring it up?" and the man agreed.

Upon his arrival she was profuse in her thanks and offered the man a drink. Because she was very attractive, he agreed. Shortly afterward she said, "I'm about to have dinner--there's plenty. Would you like to join me?"

He readily accepted her offer and both enjoyed a lovely meal.

As the evening was drawing to a close the lady said, "I've had a marvelous evening. Would you like to stay the night?"

The man hesitated, then said, "Do you act like this with every man you meet?"

"No," she replied. "Only with those who catch my eye."

For my activity:
Sat: Nothing
Sun: Driving 90 min; Talking on phone 3 hrs
Mon: Circ Aer Wkt using Airdyne (22 min/5.2 mi)

Days 216, 217 & 218 were okay. I'm up a half-inch on my measurements overall and down a pound on my weigh-in.

For the month of September I did 8 Circuit Workouts, but only 6 days of jogging (and not all that much walking) and I threw in a couple other workouts on the Airdyne alone. And no NTrk--it's still broken and I'm ordering the (correct, I hope) parts today--I can't stand not having it to use! All in all not a good month for working out. In fact one of the suckiest in a long time. Also the month was a wash for weight loss--no change!

I've done some soul-searching along with the final count of over 2000-calorie days this month--13--ridiculous! I intend to make the most of October, and I intend to be relentless. I looked at my weight graph and over the last year I'm down 15 pounds--not up and down, simply down--woo-hoo! (At least that's how the graph reads!)

I'm ready to live in a different body and for a very long time. Getting old and fat can just go to hell for all I care. I HAVE to get old, but I don't have to be a flabby-assed mess in the process!

Here's a paraphrase of something Rader used to "say," Next month will be here no matter what. How do I want to wake up on that day--November 1st?

Plan for today: Airdyne, jog, walk

Have a lovely day!
