My weight was UP today... Seriously??? I hate these fluctuation:(   I think I will see a lower number this weekend!!!  I stuck to my plan perfectly yesterday and ended up around 1700 calories, right on target!  I'm SUPER sore and tired today though...I'm hoping to get through the work I need to and get home early for the weekend!!!  At a different facility for a meeting today and I am STARVING despite a breakfast, so I broke down and I'm eating a bagel... Its pretty small and I'm using it in place of my lunch so I should be ok... Taking today off from running as it would be counterproductive with already sore legs... Happy Friday everyone!

B:  weight watchers egg sandwich:  200

Brunch:  Bagel w/ tiny bit cream cheese 350

S:  apple (50) granola bar (120) 170

Total so far: 720

Goal:  under 1800

Progress as of today: 2.6 lbs lost so far, only 8.4 lbs to go!

great job on the eating! Even if you can't run, you think you might be able to get some weights in today just for an added bonus? I have noticed when I don't do cardio, if I do at least some weights, I generally feel better. But maybe I shouldn't be giving advice as I haven't been able to budge the scale!

**Update** So proud of myself, totally stuck to my plan and actually ate LESS than planned... I wasn't tempted by any appetizers OR desserts:)  Got TONS of exercise in!!  I'm super tired and I have a feeling my legs will be sore tomorrow after the stairs maybe 100+ times!!  Hoping for a short day at work seeing as I went in for 9AM and got out at 10PM...

I decided today would be a good day for a bagel egg sandwich as I needed somthing with good staying power as lunch will not be until 3:30 PM... YIKES!!! I had a great day yesterday, ended calories right on target and went on just a mile easy speed run as my legs were already sore and I know today I will get an intense leg workout...  I'm writing my plan here, but its not written in stone... Have a great day everyone!!  If I don't get a chance to comment on your diaries today I'm sorry, but I will definiltey catch up with everyone tomorrow:)

B:  whole wheat bagel (300) egg (70) slice cheese (80) 450

I'd faint if I had to wait for lunch until 3.30! Good luck with your menu. Agree that too low calories defeats the purpose. I think Quorn is British. We've been buying it about 10 years. Have a great day!

**Exercise** easy 1 mile run... My legs were sore from my killer workout yesterday and I know I'm going to get a major leg workout tomorrow so I didn't want to push it...

I finished yesterday a little high in calories 1985 because I broke down and had some wine... It was delicious!  My weight is up a tiny bit today but I'm thinking thats from muscle swelling from lifting weights and salt from sushi more than anything so I'm trying not to sweat it...

Bonehead move of the day... Thought I had a meeting at another facility at 9AM today... Showed up... no one there... WHAT??? Yup, the meeting is actually Friday... OOPS!!!!!

My workout class last nigth was AWESOME... Lots of pushups and circuit style training and TABATA... this is my new love hate... Tabata training is invervals of 20 seconds as hard as you can possible go, then 10 seconds off and repeat... AMAZING for improving your threshold and SO SO SO hard... after the 2nd or 3rd interval I was dripping with sweat!!!  Plus we got in lots of good lifting so I'm good and sore today...

I got breakfast after my non meeting on the way back to work... I went to bruggers and they have bagel skinnys... The literally cut the whole middle out of the bagel so you are just left with the outside... You still get that wonderful bagel crunch but w/ 1/2 the calories!!!  Woo Hoo!!  Still not somthing to have very often, but a nice alternative...  I will post later with today's food plan!

B:  "skinny" honey grain bagel (180) honey walnut cream cheese (100) 280

S:  apple 50 not granola bar (120) 170

L:  leftover peanut pasta (450) greek yogurt (130) special k (70) 650

S:  edamame (100) vitatop (100) 200

I've been eating Quorn for years. Don't know if it's still true, but the UK has a bigger variety of Quorn. My hub uses Quorn pieces in curry, and Quorn mince in chili.

You pay a LOT for Quorn! I guess for fillets we pay about £2 for a pack of 2. I just bought some pieces and mince today which is usually £1.99/bag but was on sale as 3 for 5.

*EXERCISE*  Kickass killer chisel class with tabata intervals worked in... Holy cow, I will be sore tomorrow!

Had a GREAT run yesterday-see yesterday's updated entry for details:)  I successfully fought off the MAJOR urge to snack last night so I finished the day below 1800 calories!!  AND... Despite my indulgences this weekend, my weight was right back at the posted weight this morning... YAY!!!  Now DOWNWARD!!!  Today should be a good day with a healthy lunch packed, plans for my 1 hour "chisel" class at the gym after work and plenty of supplies at home for a healthy dinner...

Tomorrow should be good too, its Thursday I'm a little worried about... I will get PLENTY of exercise on the boat carrying tons of heavy stuff up and down stairs, but food is pizza ordered into the boat for a late lunch at 3PM, then we get to eat the AMAZING meal for dinner late night... If I remember correctly from last year, I will indulge a bit and eat small portions of my favorites and the insane 10 hours of running around will make up for it, so I'm trying not to really stress...

B:  weight watchers egg and cheese muffin 200

L:  leftover peanut pasta (500) edamame (90) green giant carrots and broccoli for one (40) 630 500

S:  Right before I leave for the gym I will have:  greek yogurt (130) vitamuffin (100) NOT granola bar (140) 370

*Exercise*  1 mile "pace run"... the last time I did this about a month ago it too me 10:45... Today????? 9:29.... This makes me happy b/c it means my crazy insane running that I HATE HATE HATE (until I finish the run, then I love it) is actually helping me make some progress... Thank god for that!!!

Well my eating over the weekend wasn't great...  I had fun though.  The wine and apple festival was great... But I caved and ordered eggplant parmesan at the restaurant and then ate my leftovers yesterday... OOPS... But its out of the house and I'm back on track... I ran two great runs Thursday and Friday and took Saturday and Sunday off so I MUST run today...  Ugghhh... Monday... I definitely have a case of the Monday's today!!  I have a crazy week coming up including Thursday helping run a dinner gala for 200 on a boat... We do it once per year... During the party one of my jobs is... Butler passed hor duerves... Fabulous... I will have one horribly sore arm for days.. .LOL!!!

**Exercise** Can't believe I actually made myself do this after yesterday, but I ran a full practice 5k in my neighborhood... I'm definitely taking tomorrow off from running, my legs are DEAD! but... Woo Hoo for getting my runs in!

Well my weight will not budge!  I updated the increase up top to keep me on track, but I'm not TOO upset... I know if I stick to my plan it will eventually cooperate...

I had an amazing run last night... I ran 2 miles at my fastest training pace this year, maybe even ever... I used my ipod for the first time of the season and it was JUST the boost I needed after TOTALLY not being in the mood to run....  SO I was feeling really good about myself and my running... THEN I realized I'm a complete idiot.... My mother in law of all people, called my hubby and said:  "Dave, that race we signed up for in October, did you know its all on trails and grass?"  I'm such an idiot... I signed us up for a LITERAL cross country race... Not a road race... Seriously???  The worse part is its called the "Saratoga National Bank Cross Country Classic" But somehow I just thought, oh that will be a nice run through the park roads... In my defense, hubby looked at the race too when we signed up and was like, oh that will be great...

Ugghhhh... Now I will be SUPER nervous and pretty much convinced I will come in last place... Sigh... Seriously?  Oh well, if it doesn't kill you it makes you stronger... Right?  Oh my I'm SO nervous...

Anyway...  Yesterday was a good day of eating... I was STARVING all day and ended up a little high probably 1900 calories... Maybe that is why my weight didn't move?  Today is "employee appreciation day" at work with a big picnic... Luckily, its my department providing the food and there will be some healthy choices... Tomato and cucumber salad and roasted vegetable salad... I did bring a veggie burger that they can grill if I want a burger...

Tomorrow is a big family day... Myself, hubby, step daughter, my mom and her BF and my mother in law and step father in law are going to a "wine and apple fest" in the morning... Its a craft fair, local food fair, and there will be abouit 10-15 NY wineries there...  My mom is driving, so I can try some wines and not worry about driving, BUT I want to keep it to a minimum so I make better choices later as we are going out to dinner to an AMAZING local Italian restaurant... I wanted to make dinner instead to keep it healthy, but everyone else REALLY wanted to go to the restaurant so I was outvoted... I'm thinking maybe I will get shrimp cocktail, a side of plain pasta w/ red sauce and a big serving of the veggie of the day... Not sure though... Any recommendations for an italian restaurant?  I don't eat meat, only seafood... Any suggestions are appreciated...

One good thing aboiut being scared $h*tless about this race is that I think it will scare me into compliance with eating well... I need to weigh less to get my butt up those hills on sketchy terrain.....

Today's plan:

B:  2 slices wheat toast (140) egg (70) cheese (80) tiny bit butter (40) 330

L: Behaved myself pretty well... Large serving roasted vegetable salad w/a little pasta in it  (150) large portion tomato, cucumber salad (100) 3 tortallini (100) 2 roasted potatoes (150) 1/2 cup cake (150) 650

D:  Took home some leftovers from the picnic as there was TONS left...  Large portion tomato cucumber salad (200) medium portion roasted veggie and pasta salad (300) 1 roasted potato (80) small portion apple crisp (200) 780

Total so far: 1760

Goal: under 1800

Good luck in the race. Just enjoy it, don't worry about how you place. Sounds like a fun weekend planned. I rarely go to Italian restaurants as my hub doesn't like them. Can you order a fish dish like pasta with fish but something w/o a creamy sauce?

I agree with grannyannie; don't worry about your pace or how far back in the pack you are. You're doing the run and you should feel accomplished! If you can practice on cross country field you might get a better idea of how it's going to go. I try to run on a grass path in the park near my home and to tell you the honest truth, it's a lot easier on the joints than running on cement! Though, the hills and rough terrain might be an issue LOL.

I always find running off road to be easier too. Although I don't really RUN -- it is more like a sprint/walk. Still, don't psych yourself out. Have you thought about trying out the path before the race -- that always makes me feel better.

Well, you certainly have some motivation built in now don't you?? If you finish last it doesn't matter (of course, you won't!!) it really is amazing to me to go on a run like that. Sounds like you have a wonderful weekend ahead, enjoy yourself and your family and even the food. I would go for the pasta with marinara sauce, pretty reasonable for a main meal and of course no dessert with everything else you have planned for the weekend.:)

Wow, the cross country run sounds like fun, but I'm sure it will be difficult. No worries though, you're gonna do great!

As far as food, your restaurant menu sounds good. Maybe even go for a fish entree if you're really hungry? I think better to get in more protein than carbs. Enjoy and have a great weekend!

**Update** I did great with lunch and kept exactly to my plan... I even successfully avoided the homemade chocolate and pumpkin whoopie pies:(  Sadly avoided them... LOL

So today's weight is still above the posted weight, but a little lower than yesterday... I did have a burrito "streaker" (burrito bowl) from Moe's last night... Very high in salt and a little high in calories... Ended at about 1800 yesterday... I also decided to take yesterday as my rest day... SO... I'm not too upset about the weight... I will run today and HOPEFULLY I'll be back to the posted weight tomorrow... Either way I will update...

Oh... also I had to be to work an hour early so that usually effects my weight as well... Today I teach "culinary training" to the nurses aids and their final is to make us lunch... I pretty much HAVE to eat it or I offend them:)  Literally... Of course today's meal... Fettucine Alfredo... Seriously???  My plan is a few strands of pasta w/ some of the broccoli picked out... 1/2 a breadstick and a LARGE portion of tossed salad... I brought a greek yogurt for later so I can get some protein and not be STARVING...

B:  2 egg and cheese wake up wraps (360) iced coffee w/ skim milk and splenda (40) 400

L:  Very small portion pasta (80) broccoli (10) alfredo sauce (200) salad veggies (25) croutons (60) lite dressing (100) 415

Didn't end up working out... Very sore!  I needed a day off sometime this week so I decided to take it today... Definitely going for a run tomorrow!

I'm trying not to get upset that my weight was up to 200.2 this morning after another great day yesterday... I did do a chisel weight class at the gym, so my logical side says that maybe my muscles are retaining a bit of water, but my emotional side is SO annoyed... I'm not recording it until I see tomorrow's weight... I ended yesterday around 1700 calories... I also did 7 minutes hard on the eliptical machine, then a 60minute weight class with a few cardio intervals, and finally a 10 minute walk with hubby (its all I could get him to do and it was dark out so I didn't want to go alone...)

Hubby had made a homemade pizza for dinner... I was quite proud of myself that I just had one small slice and made myself a large veggie filled salad instead of eating all 3 pieces he had left for me...  Apparantly the scale wasn't as impressed with my willpower as I was... LOL

I'm planning on some type of run today, just not sure what kind... I will update...

B:  morning star farms california "Turk'y" and avocado burger (80) on arnold thin (100) 180

Well done on the workout. Menu sounds good as well. Remember muscles weighs a lot more than fat so a gain in muscles will show up on the scale. :-)

Ended the day at 1630 calories...  Perfect:)  I had planned on a 3 mile run, but it was SUPER hot and humid and my calves were still sore from Saturday... I only did 1.25 miles...  I felt TERRIBLE the whole time, but... better than nothing!!!  Today its once again hot and humid so I think I am going to go to a class at the gym... Not sure which class.. It really depends when I can get out of work so I will report back...  The scale is FINALLY starting to cooperate and the "fat pants" I bought over the summer b/c all my pants from last summer were tight are almost too big to wear... THANK GOD!!!!!

B:  weight watchers egg and cheese 200

L:  amy's black eyed peas bowl w/ added veggies (280) nectarine (50) 330

Perfect! :) I also managed to end up at the amazing value of 1500 kcals yesterday, and today seems to be a good day, too, but I don't want to obsess about this. I want this to happen naturally like before. Great news on the pants, that's a motivator!!! :D

Great news on the pants!! You rock!! Have a good workout at the gym...It is still a little too hot here for me, i can't wait til it cools off so I can resume my long walks...

Workout:  1.25 mile run... Wanted to do more, but it was SUPER hot and my legs are still sore from my saturday long run...  Better than nothing!

Overall had a great weekend:)  Friday and Saturday were quiet and healthy... Yesterday I went out to watch football... I behaved myself at the sports bar w/ 2.5 beers a couple chips and fries and a DELICIOUS ahi tuna salad... (definitely my go to meal for this football season).  When I got home yesterday I had a few  more beers and a little too much of my tofu thai curry leftovers... OOPS... I had made this Saturday and it made a TON... It is SO amazingly good, but not too low calorie... I have a small amount of leftovers for lunch today and then I'm DONE!

I got GREAT run in on Saturday on an actual 5k course... It was a bit hilly so I was sore yesterday... Feeling better today and hoping to get another good run in after work...  My weight was down a over a pound yesterday... Woo Hoo!  I had every intention of weighing in and seeing any damage from too much curry and beers, but my hubby's friend who had come over to watch the jets game last night was sleeping in my guest room where I keep the scale... Apparantly the boys must have drank more after I went to bed... LOL...  So apparantly it wasn't meant to be for me to weigh in today... More motivation to be perfect today so I don't have to change my weight on the progress bar tomorrow... Have a good day everyone!

Goal:  Less than 1800

Progress as of today: 2.8 lbs lost so far, only 8.2 lbs to go!
