Ok I really need to SHAPE up... yesterday did not end well... After what I recorded I also had shumai, 4 glasses of wine, a little 96% fat free popcorn, a few chocolate chips, and a cheesestick...  AAAGGGGHHH!!  So mad at my self..... Then of course I was feeling bad this AM and proceded to get an egg and cheese bagel... Grrrrr...  its ok though I still have the power to make today a good day if I just buckle down and DO IT!!!   I really need to go running today but its suppose to be HOT HOT HOT! and my legs are still SUPER sore from Wednesday... we shall see!!

B:  egg/cheese on bagel 400

S:  100 calorie popcorn 100

L:  frozen meal (250) yogurt (130) 380

S:  granola bar (120) apple (50) 170

Total:1050

Goal: 1400-1800

Progress as of today: 18.2 lbs lost so far, only 25.6 lbs to go!

Thanks for the kind words. It's never too late! Even if you don't think you can hit next Tuesday's goal, why not try to see how close you can get? Every little bit helps. I know today can be a better day for you! (I'm nervous about the weekend -- I tend to struggle the most over weekends.) Onward! :)

Ok, girl, its time for you to get back on track. I know you can do it! I know you have set a minigoal of losing 1lb by Tuesday. I think its completely doable, but you have to stay disciplined.

Since you're legs are still sore, I think they could benefit from a mix of running and walking for exercise. Then of course be sure to stretch afterwards. You may want to try epsom salt baths to help your muscles recover. Just add two cups of espsom salt to the hottest bath water you can tolerate. Not only will this special bath relieve muscle pain/cramps and inflammation, it can also reduce stress and tension, help pull toxins from your body, and improve digestion. Do research or talk to your doc make sure its safe for you before trying it.

no problem!! Lunch was pretty amazing. Im still fantasizing about it, lol. Cant wait to go back and eat it again. :)

I've seen epsom salts in both drugstores and grocery stores (in the bath soap section). Some are scented (lavander..mmmm!) and others are unscented. Let me know if you try it! Pregnant women aren't allowed to use it (mainly due to the hot water being dangerous), but I plan on using after baby is born as Im sure I'll have some tension to release. :)

You can take baths, they just cant be too hot. Very hot water temperatures (especially hot tubs, which I LOVE!) can raise your body temperature which can be fatal to the baby. I think I took like 3 baths while pregnant with Ethan since I was so worried about hurting him. I haven't had a bath with this pregnancy yet. I take hot showers with the bathroom door open (to let in more cool air to make sure I dont get overheated) instead. There is a lot of things pregnant folks cant do, but the sacrafices are totally worth it. Oh that reminds me, last night, hubby bought a bottle of our favorite wine and drank three glasses of it with and after dinner. The scent of it was pure torture. I can easily live with out beer, but I really miss wine!

Hubby doesnt like to drink around me when Im pregnant. He feels guilty. But, I know he has had a stressful week with all these meetings and deadlines so I told him to pick up some beer and wine for himself. He was hesitant at first, but I insisted.

I was totally repulsed by the smell and sight of alcohol most of the duration of my first pregnancy and all through my first trimester of this pregnancy. But, the smell of it on his breath grosses me out. I cant give him a kiss or even snuggle up to him until he has brushed his teeth. :)

OOps! You have been a little decadent lately, I know you can turn this around, you have to! I am not a believer in depriving yourself of things you really crave so maybe you can scale it back a bit...Is it possible to be satisfied with 1 "cheat" day a week? By cheat I mean have a few glasses of wine or beer and eat healthy or have 1 food indulgence and no drinks???

Phew... glad yesterday is over!!!  Ended up eating a bit more than I should have... but doing a lot more physical labor than I even thought I would do... The kitchen was 4 floors below one of the dining decks... and 3 floors below the main dining deck... I must have don those stairs up and down at least 50-75 times... Plus LOTS of heavy lifting bending setting up, tearing down...  I burned WAAAAY more calories than my toughest workout... My weight was down slightly from yesterday, so I'm not stressing... Today I plan on leaving work a little early (after a 15 hour day with only my regular salaried 8 hours yesterday, I'm sure no one will mind:)  and going home to VEG...  Don't think I will get a run in as my one hamstring that has been being finicky with my running is SCREAMING in pain today!!!  Plan is to be healthy and back on track!

Ok - let's do the "lose l lb in 5 days" challenge. After downing much coffee this morning, I was able to coerce the scale down .5 but I didn't record it. To meet that challenge, my weight needs to be 219 by next Tuesday.... Good luck to us both! Let's do it!

I find it awesome when someone can keep their pizza down to two small pieces! I have a hard time with that. But I will get there :D YOu did good today with sticking to reasonable portion sizes! Hats off to you!

yesterday ended good... I did have a few snack crackers but probably ended up about 1600 calories... Plus I got a small 15 minute run in... I was just feeling it:) Today should be good then tomorrow hard... My department is running a gala dinner and I will have to butler pass hor duerves and set up everything all day and do abouit 100 flights of stairs... It will burn TONS of calories... but lunch will be pizzas and dinner will be stuffed fish w/ veggies....  I will try to stay healthy!!!!!

*Update* I actually felt like running so I did a nice easy 15 minute run... Yay!

Hi Everyone!  I'm back after a couple day hiatus... Hiatus from the site and also from counting calories... After the race we went to our favorite italian restaurant and had a wonderful dinner with pasta, wine and family:)  Yesterday we went out to watch football and I had a couple beers... I also FINALLY finished my wedding thank you notes thanks to skinnygrl's help:)  With a week to spare   lol.....

The race went quite well for me on Saturday... I felt a little slow and sluggish for parts of it... there were CRAZY hills!!!  But... I ran the whole time and beat my last 5k race time by 1 minute 26 seconds... My time was 34:33... Last time was 35.59   I'll take it!!!  Today I need to get my body readjusted to counting calories... I'm quite certain today will be a hungry day so I will try to make good choices!!!  I'm still SUPER sore from the race, so no exercise is on the adgenda for today.....

B:  vanilla greek yogurt (120) mueslix (100) 220

S:  apple and cheese stick  110

L:  Somthing catered at work... will TRY to be SUPER healthy and report back!

Just spoke w/ husband and we decided on homemade pizza for dinner... lite on the cheese.  I figured pizza dough is good carbs and making a homemade one is a good way to control the grease factor... It will be a little high in calories, but just dough, cheese, and sauce!!!   Tomorrow for breakfast I am having oatmeal and a banana!

*Update*  Husband left his car headlights on so I had to go jump his car...He's an HR manager for the food service company at a college so I had a bit to eat withhim... Salad w/ veggies tofu and honey mustard, 1/2 bowl cream of mushroom soup and a few bites squash and lentil casserole...I have NO idea how many calories it was but my plan is to skip the tv dinner part of my lunch and keep it healthy for the rest of the day...  Calorie counting starts again in earnest on SUNDAY... No excuses!!!

Didn't run yesterday as it was SUPER rainy... today is a super short run just to get the legs moving...

ugghhh weight seems to be STUCK... today was 176.6...  Grrrrrrr!!!   Today I am counting calories somewhat, but the name of the game for me is easily digestible foods, so if my calories are up a little bit, I'm not going to freak out...  Feeling tip top for my race is my number one priority today...

B:  bagel (YUM!) w/ egg and cheese 450

S:  fruited snack crackers 150

L:  Weight watchers angel hair marinara meal (250) peach greek yogurt (130) 380

S:  Cheese stick 60

Total so far: 1040

Goal: 1800

That sucks about your hubby's car. Too bad noone at the college could have helped him. I dont think your food choices were horrible calorie wise, so I wouldnt stress that much about it. If it tasted salty, I'd up the water intake so you dont feel dehydrated later.

I'm not surprised that my weight is holding steady at 176.4 after last night's mini binge...  Ugghhh I really have to stop with the emotional eating!!!   Only 2 days to the race... Not sure whether I should do a small run both today and tomorrow to make up for skipping yesterday or just do a small run tomorrow... I want my legs in top form for saturday...  I slept well last night and had a nice night in with hubby, so I'm in a much better mindset today thankfully!!!

mini binge sounds funny - although I know it's not. Emotional eating is hard to get rid of... how I envy those who "forget" to eat while emotionally stressed... we, human beings, are so different...

I think that you are hungry because you are nervous. I am glad to hear that everything is back on an even keel with your husband - that's wonderful. I agree with V, a couple of gentle runs, just to keep your muscles stretched, carbs the evening before, protein on the morning of the race, can we come a yell support?

Ugghh... got some sad news this afternoon and it put me in a funk... I skipped running and had some extra snacks... probably ended at about 2000 calories....  but at least husband and I are living in harmony once again...  Will probably go to bed early to put an end to this frustrating/sad day:(

*Just talked to husband and he is 100% fine about our fight and thought it was silly that I was still thinking about it*  I do feel a bit better now:)  I just HATE fighting with anyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Weight stagnant today at 176.4... probably from the extra bread and VERY salty dinner....   Also maybe stress?  Husband and I had a nasty fight last night...  It wasn't over anything major, but we rarely fight and I think I'm an extra sensitive person, so it really threw me and I ended up crying a lot and not sleeping well... 

Now this morning he is fine...  But I'm still thrown... Ugghhh and I don't even have PMS or ANYTHING!!!   Ugghhh MEN!!! 

So anyway... I'm less than happy today for the time being.... Hopefully I will have an improved mood later b/c I really need to be positive and in a good mind frame b/c of my upcoming race...

I'm so sorry about the fight that you had... I hate fighting with them!! I'm glad its ok now and you just need to think positive. If it makes you feel any better I had a crappy night as well but for completely different reasons! I completely thought I wasn't working last night and was working tonight... but at midnight last night I realized I had looked at the wrong sheet and was actually supposed to work yesterday and didn't show up... and didn't call... I am in a panic... my plan is to just go in today all dressed and be like "oh my god I completely thought i was working today" ... I've never done anything like this... maybe we're all off this week??

My hubby and I rarely fight, so I tend to be overly sensitive when we do. Im the same way with my sister too, lol. Anyway, glad you guys are getting along now. :)

Okay if you get hooked like i am then I will take full responsibility and also for our rehab treatment....Celsius is an energy drink that contains 5 calories per 12 oz can, unlike redbull, Rock Star and others, it totally burns at least 100 calories per can. It doesn't have that crash effect either, I tried it after Mario (slater) Lopez kept raving about it on a talk show and now along with my Starbuck addiction add this one as well...LOL I am such an adrenaline junky :)

**UPDATE**  I did pretty well at dinner... Stuck to my plan as written except I ate a little extra bread...  Friends evilly asked for another loaf and I HAD to have a bit... but I turned down dessert so that was good... Overall I'd call it a success!!

***Grrr realizing that today is a VERY hungry day!!!***  I guess if I need an extra snack, I have to change my meal at macaroni grill... We will see what happens and I will update!

Stepped on the scale today 176.4... not too bad considering my saturday evening and ALL day sunday... Tomorrow I'm recording my weight no matter what it is... That is another incentive for me to eat healthy tonight at macaroni grill!!!  I went for a 20 minute run yesterday... I was DRAGGING!!!!  Better to get the bad runs out now than saturday during the race right?????

Today's plan.

B:  Carrot cake cupcake  80

S:  bruschetta veggie burger (90) on arnold thin (100) 190

L:  Gardein thai stuffed "Chikn" breast (250) veggies (25) hummus (50) apple (50) 375

S:  Raspberries (50) mini bag of 94% fat free popcorn (100) 150

D:  Agghhhh still can't decide... I REALLY want the shrimp portifino so I think thats what I will go for...  or at least I will plan for that.... Both of my other choices are lower in calories so if anything my total will be lower...   Shrimp portifino (560) 1/3 of the bread (150) very small amt olive oil for dipping (50) salad w/ dressing on side and small amount used (200)  960... YIKES!

Total: 1755  but I guss it actually fits:)

Goal: 1400-1800...

Progress as of today: 18.2 lbs lost so far, only 25.6 lbs to go!

I just saw that you made those cupcakes yesterday. Just a box of carrot cake and a can of ginger ale? Awesome. What temperature and time did you use to bake them? I'd love to have them as a dessert!

Go for the shrimp portifino. Sounds like you can keep within your budget if you stick to your plan today!

Thanks for the recipe! I love carrot cake's frosting, but I can easily live without it if it means keeping a dessert under 100 calories. :)

The shrimp portifino is always good...but if the seared scallop salad is the same as it used to be that was SUPER yummy too!!! And P.S. when did you make cupcakes!!! I'm coming over and stealing one!! Even though last night after my McFlurry with Tor I need to stay away from sweets haha!!

I actually always got the salad without the proscuitto because I thought it made it too salty...but I wonder if they changed it because it was always super high in calories... so I can't say how it would be now... as for the halibut it was the oil and the yummy rosiotto that made it good so I don't know if the halibut would be worth it. I'd do either the salad or the shrimp portifino..

Oh yea you did haha...but all I ate yesterday was an egg white spinach wrap, a 6 oz steak with a couple pieces of broc and the McFlurry

*Note to self* DO NOT eat lentil spaghetti squash (big portion) and a nice big salad together... it is TOO much food and you will feel ill and uncomfortable...  Its amazing to me that for 500 calories I feel THIS full... I'm really going to try to get 80% of my diet from whole natural foods as it REALLY makes a difference with satiety... If anyone is like me and likes HUGE quantities of food I HIGHLY recommend the red lentil spaghetti... SO filling and you can eat SO much for not many calories:)

I'm happy to report that its Monday morning and the motivation and dedication I was feeling late last week is back with a vengance!  I was not by any means perfect this weekend... But... I enjoyed myself and I'm ready to be PERFECT this week!!!  My goal is to keep my calories within range Monday-Friday...  Exactly where they should be!!!  Saturday is the RACE!!!!!!!!!!!  aaagghhhh!!  After the race (Which Me, skinnygrl, husband, brother in law, and mother in law are all doing!).  We are going out for an early italian dinner that night with all of our parents...  I will splurge somewhat in that I will not count calories... but I AM NOT taking leftovers home... I will give them to my mom to take home lol!!!  Next Sunday for football I WILL behave unlike yesterday...

Tomorrow night I am going out to dinner w/ 2 of my best friends... One of whom just had a baby 3 months ago and this is her first night out with friends w/out the baby so she is very excited!!  We are going to The Macaroni Grill... Which ironically I used to work at and that is where I met husband, skinnygrl, and brother in law... So long ago it feels like a lifetime!!!  Luckily they have completely revamped their menu since I worked there... There are MANY options under 600 calories so I'm quite excited... I'm deciding between shrimp portifino (560) shrimp speidis (grilled shrimp w/ grilled veggies (330) or a seared scallop and spinach salad (330) I need to leave some extra calories for bread b/c their's is AMAZING!!!

Today I'm focusing on whole foods and trying to stay away from the snacky processed foods for the most part....

B:  3 egg whites (30) on 1/2 arnold thin (50) 80

S:  bruschetta veggie burger (90) on 1/2 arnold thin (50) 140

L:  Left over red lentil spaghetti squash  (250) salad w/ veggies (25) chickpeas (100) balsalmic (80) small amount goat cheese (50) 505

S:  1 T almond butter  100

S:  Peach greek yogurt (140) apple (50) 190

D:  I'm planning on the following:  I bought this premarinaded tofu in curry sauce and there is a recipe to stirfry it with broccoli and carrots over rice...  The tofu w/ broccoli and carrots is (280) and I think I have instant single portion brown rice that is (180) 460

S:  Trying out carrot cake cupcakes made w/ a box of carrot cake and a can of diet gingerale... 80 calories per cake... I will let you know if they are any good... 80 x2 160.. Ut oh they are DELICIOUS.. but I could see myself eating too many of these!!

I have room left for a healthy snack IF I NEED ONE...

Total: 1635

Goal: 1400-1800

Also plan some kind of run today... not sure which kind...

Im so glad this nausea is finally gone. I can now focus on eating a well-balanced and nutritious diet. Im sure sure I wont be perfect 100% of the time, but I am glad to say that I am craving healthy things like salad and veggies now. Im excited to finally have the urge to incorporate them back into my diet. Its a relief just knowing that I can eat healthy again!!

I love love love Macaroni Grill...and yes, their bread kicks butt!! The one closest to us closed down though. Its now some Scottish bar that reminds me of Hooters but skankier, lol. Anyway, all three meals you've chosen sound wonderful but I'd get the salad just so I could eat all the delicious bread. :)
