Ok seriously fell off the wagon but I have a wedding on October 14 and I want to tighten up so I am really buckling down. I am going to take it one day at a time. Today I worked out early a little Yoga X and some Pilates this morning. I made salmon over a tomato, avocado, green onion lemon dill salad and topped it with some NF greek yogurt. It doesn't get much cleaner than that. Green tea with soy milk, a little coffee and some fruit salad for breakfast. I am backing some organic chicken with quinoa salad for dinner. Good stuff.

No smoking and no sugary drinks today. One day at a time.

Your menu sounds awesome! I made quinoa for the first time last month when Umpqua posted a quinoa burger recipe. Hubby has enjoyed it as a side instead of the white rice I made him give up in January. I love salmon and your salad sounds divine. Congrats on the no smoking and sugar drinks. Went to the pool with a tumbler of vodka, club soda and skinny girl pina colada. So much for working out and not drinking  . . .

Can I tell you how exhausted I am from the weekend. I was almost happy to go back to work today to get some peace and be able to sit down! Saturday flew by and Sunday I had a gig from 3-7 (which was an hour away -- there goes my whole day!). I did workout on Saturday: I did weights and an hour interval work out on the elliptical (which I actually find to be oddly relaxing). I bought several albums on Itunes which were all amazingly fantastic. (Florence and the Machine --the new one, Of monsters and men and FUN) All three albums were good. I haven't been this excited about music since 1998! LOL. Sigh I am getting old.

Anyway, my plan is to work out 5 days this week and get to the pool as much possible in between because it is closing on Labor Day and I am going to miss it sooooo much. Today however, I MUST go shopping. In order to eat healthy, I need to buy healthy foods. My hubby and I have been soooo good about eating healthy at home. We went out for dinner with his family on Saturday and to the diner for breakfast on Sunday but every other meal the entire week was cooked by yours truly. Of course, my meals are gluten free but he can eat the bread.

I really feel like my appetite has been amazingly curbed lately. I think it is because I am not eating bread, no diet sodas, drinking lots of water and eating more whole foods. Or maybe it's cause I am too hungover to eat. Who knows?

LOL i believe I will always be a chubby girl at heart, even if I end up super small! All those bands are amazing! FUN is my favorite and loved them before they became famous lol. Have fun food shopping. I love buying healthy food, but dont like the price...Ill vote on the healthy food as appetite suppressant, but ya never know....

Hey girl! Wow you had a busy weekend especially since you actually are happy to be back at work! LOL Girl I so hear ya on the drinking thing..Back in the day I could hang with the best of them, after my 4 month non drinking stint(when i first started my healthier lifestyle) I have become a bit of a lightweight..hahahaha Anyways I am sure you can find Urban D at Wegmans..Hope ya had a good day back at work :)

Man I feel like crapola today. Too much to drink and I stayed out late and of course, TOM. I feel so spaced out. No workout this morning. Just getting out of bed was a feat. Well, at least it is Friday.

Tomorrow I am going to Brazilian buffet with my in-laws and my husband's family. I don't do well with buffets. And it is hella expensive, like $40 per person just to sit down. I WILL do an amazing workout tomorrow. I am thinking 30 minutes of interval training AND an hour on the elliptical. I will still have to watch the food intake. My husband's family LOVES to eat and drink. Italians, whatcha gonna do? I have a show on Sunday, outside, in the heat.

Oh man buffet = dangerous for me too! My family is jewish...so everything is circled around food...Thats why I'm nervous to go home this weekend. Have a great one!

You must be going to "Fogo De Chao" I love that place :P I usually just load up on the meats and keep the side dishes to a very minimal since the drinks are what kills me..I hope ya feel better <3 BTW did you find the Urban Detox?

I don't do well with buffets at all. I have this compulsion to overeat so I get my money's worth. I'm sure you'll do fine. A good idea is to have something light to eat before you go. That should take the edge off seeing all of the food and wanting to eat more than you really need or should. I used to live in northwest NJ (Byram township near Newton. Now I'm retired and living the easy life in sunny (most of the time) central FL. Where in NJ are you?

No work out this morning. I am exhausted. I went to visit a friend in the hospital then I had band practice last night. I didn't get home till midnight, so getting up at 6am for a workout was a pipe dream. I have a dentist appt after work and I promised to see my friend perform tonight at a comedy show and I have to walk the dog, eat something, shower and change in between. THERE IS NEVER ENOUGH TIME!! Food was good yesterday though.

I feel like I am getting tighter and losing weight.

Oh and since I can't work out today, my plan is to do a few lunges, squats, tricep dips and planks in my office between meetings and paperwork. Better than nothing?? or just plain crazy?? I can't decide.

got up early and worked out -- 30 minutes of Shed and Shred by Jillian. I am working my way back up to hour workouts again. I was about 300 calories over yesterday which I can blame on the two glasses of white wine. It is that TOM and I am always starving right before I start. I also ate half a Nestle Crunch bar yesterday which I did NOT need. OH WELL. I brought a boatload of healthy snacks today so I don't make bad decisions. If I am going to be over my calories, it should at least be with healthy foods, right?

Hello healthy people. So I got up early this morning and went to the gym and did 30 minutes on the elliptical. I just need to get back in the habit of working out. I know I need to do my video and some weight training but this is where I need to start. Elliptical, classes, videos, weights  . . . I will get back to my hour long intense workouts. I had blackened salmon, steamed broccoli and a few roasted potatoes last night for dinner. It was soooo filling.

Going to the pool today with my husband after work to chill out. I am making baked Indian organic chicken tonight with quinoa and salad. I brought a raw cabbage salad for lunch (cabbage, corn, black beans, roasted peppers in an evoo/applecider vinegrette) -- I can't wait to see what the co-workers will say about THIS! LOL.

Gotta go hydrate!

Your meals sound great! And you are so right, working out is a habit and it is very easy to fall out of that habit! But once you get going again, it will be part of your routine that you just don't want to miss. Nutritious food coupled with good exercise is a recipe for success!! Have a great week!

I am going to vent right now about something that seems stupid but really bothers me. I bring food to work. I bring breakfast, lunch and sometimes dinner. I bring my own snacks and my own beverages. AND without fail, between 4 and 9 people will either ask me what I am eating, comment on what I am eating or ask me to sample what I am eating. I usually don't get annoyed but lately it has really been bothering me. Today, I went to the lounge to get a fork with my lunch in hand and someone asked me "what is that' and I said, "leftover omelette and potatoes from brunch yesterday with some hot sauce" to which they replied "ew that sounds gross" As I am walking to my office and two more people stopped me and asked what I was eating. One person said "It smells like wings but it looks like mush" and the other person said "is that all your are having for lunch?"

Then I came down stairs to eat my lunch in peace in my office with door closed when TWO coworkers came in separately and asked me what I was eating. I told them. One of them said "I thought you were on a diet." (By the way, I am trying to eat gluten free because my allergist recommended it after I started getting mysteriously sick and had several stomach illnesses which was brought up when someone brought in bagels and I politely declined) I SHOULD NOT have to explain this to people!

I am going to admit it. I HAVE FOOD ISSUES! I am SUPER self-conscious about what I eat and what people see that I am eating. I do not need everyone commenting on what I am eating. Who cares?!? If I wanted to sit in my office and eat ROCKS I should be allowed to do so!

I am seriously thinking about a putting a menu on my office door of what I brought to eat with the recipe and nutritional information. And a sign that says "if you don't like you don't have to eat it!"

The second problem is the "can I try that?" Several co-workers have seen that I eat things like Quinoa and I make these weird salads, gluten free rice and almond crackers and bring in pineapple passionfruit or pina colada seltzers. I don't mind sharing, but it is becoming expensive. People ask for a handful of cherries, or a few bites of my lunch, a small cup of seltzer and it starts to add up! I try to say "no" but then I seem stingy. Plus I bring enough food for myself, when I don't get to eat it, I am hungry and in threat of eating the junk that lies around our office. Maybe I should make extra for the staff? I can't really afford that though.

I can't lock myself in my office whenever I eat because, one my office doesn't really lock and two I have the staff microwave and fridge in my office so I am by default the staff lounge. The other day, I actually went outside to eat by myself even though it is 100 degrees but not without passing people who still asked me what I was eating. URGH.

That sounds so annoying!! You might just have to be rude. I wouldn't let them try the food. Tell them you've counted the calories already and want to eat each one of them yourself.

OH! i know this all too well...Its either they want you to mess up or there jealous....My co-workers did it ALLL the time and still do, so I just go "Yep, I'm eat this and will still lose more weight than you" Of course in nicer terms ha. Back in NC, i ate a sweet potato at lunch everyday that they would always joke about it..since they noticed that I don't care what they think, they don't bother anymore. I wouldn't worry :) Youve already lost some weight that you know what youre doing!

Oh my goodness, I would feel the same way as you. I can't believe what people say sometimes..and asking you to try your food? That's where I would draw the line. If I offered, ok, but to ask is incredible to me. Yep, that's annoying, and it may be time to be rude back.

You have every right to be annoyed, and your co-workers are being rude on top of it! I guess it's one thing to be interested in what you are eating and I say take that as an opportunity to educate them. But the "ew" comments are completely juvenile, and you shouldn't have to share your food with them. Maybe just tell them you are doing strict portion control and you can't share anything because it will knock you off schedule?

You know they must have put haterade in the water cooler at your job.. I am sorry that you have to deal with such nonsense, but girl rise above the naysayers and the negative Nellies. Everyone wants to be an effing nutritionist, geesh, I am sure these people that are making these comments are not perfect specimins.. When I started eating healthier and losing weight, there was a girl at work who told everyone that I must be puking everything I ate because there was no way that I was losing weight with the amount and types of food that I was eating..Far from the truth of course but this was coming from someone who did just that..Since I have known her she yoyos between a skeletal 85 ish lbs to 170's.. I didn't care what she said nor if people believed her, my true friends know the truth. Ironically enough this same girl purchased Insanity and Brazilian Butt Lift from me about 6 months ago when she came to me about her eating disorders..For a second there I almost thought about telling her to piss off when she asked me for my help, but that wouldn't have been very mature of me either..I guess what I am saying is that people take their own insecurities and try to make life just as miserable as their own existence, don't fall into that trap, and never feel like you owe and explanation to anyone about what you are doing because it's none of their business! Sorry for the long tirade, the haters of the world really piss me off...LOL Oh BTW you can find Urban Detox at Whole Foods or any other "Health Food store. You can also order though their web site that I posted yesterday..They also have a fb fan page that you can join that might have listings of the stores in your area that carry Function Drinks.. Hope you had a good day despite the losers at work <3

I worked out Friday and did a workout yesterday. The workouts aren't as intense as what I was doing before I stopped working out, but I am sure I will get back there. My show last night went well and I have paying gig today, outside, in the heat. I hope I don't melt. I will stay hydrated and no beer. I will try to get the gym before the gig.

I was doing well with the gluten free but I had a like three french fries off my husband's last night which were probably not gluten-free. Going to grocery store now to pick up some healthy food.

I drank 3 vodka clubs and had two glasses of wine last night. I am feeling it this morning.

Sorry you are feeling it this morning..Make sure you drink lotsa water and if you can find some "Urban Detox" this stuff works wonders for the over imbibed(speaking from personal experience)

Feeling good today on day 4 of no gluten. I was about 800 calories over yesterday! Mostly because of the two glasses of wine I had last night and the gin and tonic. I ate very well though! Lots of fruits and veggies!

I AM going to the gym today. I will do an hour on the elliptical because I want to enjoy a nice meal with friends tonight and I need to practice my songs for a showcase I am doing tomorrow night. I will get on the elliptical and rock out. Tomorrow I will do a realy workout with weights; maybe a class at the gym or a Jillian workout. I think if I start working out again, I will feel even better.

When should I weigh myself? I was thinking about next week. Monday morning -- start fresh. I haven't weighed myself in about two weeks. I am afraid, but I know I should at least have a baseline.
