(120 oz water)
Weight: 258.0

53 days until mini vacation.

No pop, about 100 ounces of water yesterday. Food eating started off good, but ended with a bag of chips and anything I could find in the fridge.

I really thought having a goal date to look forward to would help push me towards my goal, but I'm just not feeling motivated. I need to figure out some sort of regular aerobic exercise that doesn't completely bore me to death.

Progress as of today: 5.8 lbs lost so far, only 58 lbs to go!

Try Jazzercise. It's a great aerobic workout. Go to www.jazzercise.com to find a location near you. It's like traditional aerobics, but incorporates some pilates moves, tae bo type moves, strength training, cardio, all in an hour workout. It's more "dancy" than traditional aerobics, and that's what I like about it. It's definitely a fun workout. If that's not for you, I hope you find something you like. You might even try walking around your neighborhood or find a nearby park. Any movement is better than none! Have a great day - way to go on the water!

54 days until mini vacation.

The last few days have been pretty bad food wise. I almost had some regular pop yesterday. I kept justifying why I should have some regular pop, over and over. I ended up having a Coke Zero. Still a pop, but no calories.

Progress as of today: 4.8 lbs lost so far, only 59 lbs to go!

Well, atleast you picked the healthier choice.

borntocry on 07/06/2006:
Way to go! I used to be completely anti-pop, but then my husband got me hooked. Now I find that a little diet pop every now and then gets rid of the craving without adding on any of those empty calories, which I would much rather spend on food, delicious food...

Yesterday was a little better than usual, foodwise. 120 ounces of water and no pop. I had a low carb SlimFast for breakfast. Then for lunch (Cracker Barrel at 2pm) I ate a 1/2 lb. bacon cheeseburger (no bun) with mustard, side salad with blue cheese dressing, and green beans with butter.

I'm not really planning on going on a low carb diet per say. I just know that I "loves me some carbs". Pasta, potatoes, breads, candy, pop, etc. After eating at Cracker Barrel I walked around the store looking for some type of candy that I wouldn't feel too guilty about eating. That was a mistake. I didn't find any candy, but I did find a brand of kettle cooked salt & vinegar chips that I hadn't tried before. Salt & vinegar potato chips are one of my favorite things to munch on. I like them so strong that if you open the bag and inhale, they'll take your breath away and make you cough a couple of times. The chips had good texture and crunch, but unfortunately they lacked the punch I was looking for. I still ate about half the bag while starting the trip home (3 hours more driving). By the time I got home, I wasn't really hungry, so I just skipped making anything for dinner.

All total I spent about 10 hours in the car yesterday, which would normally mean 2-3 32oz fountain pops, bag of chips, couple candy bars, and a sub sandwich or two, in addition to a meal or two outside the car. Even though it wasn't a perfect day food wise, it sure was a lot better than usual.

About the only exercise I got yesterday was mowing the lawn after I got back; and it's not exactly tough since the mower is self propelled. I guess it amounts to a 45 minute walk.

Progress as of today: 6.4 lbs lost so far, only 57.4 lbs to go!

I grew up going to cracker barrel anytime we were on vaction. I love that place but the gift shop just sucks me in! My favorite things there are the penny candy sticks. I love those, they're cheap and not to bad for the waist! Doesn't drinking that much water make you feel good! Keep strong!

64 days to go.

I've now got a date to work towards. I'm very goal oriented, so this should help get me on track. We're going to go on a short vacation over labor day weekend to visit my grandma and see some other relatives. We've been meaning to get up there since we had our last child, who's now 13 months old. Unfortunately 3.5 plane tickets are pretty pricey out of my hometown, so we'll be driving the 13 hours each way instead. We'll probably leave on September 1st, so I've effectively got 2 months to work towards being somewhat lighter.

It's been 7 days since I had a pop and I'm not craving it now, which is amazing. Although I do think I've been compensating with eating more junk food this past week. The whole box of Drumsticks (ice cream) have mysteriously disappeared over the last 5-6 days.

Since I've now got a date to work towards, I'm going to try to watch what I eat tomorrow and see how it goes. The only bad thing is that I'll be on the road for about 10 hours tomorrow, which is when I normally go crazy on my eating.....part out of boredom and part out of just trying to stay awake. Oh well, drinking lots of water will help keep me awake too......nothing keeps you awake like having a full bladder and praying that the rest area is just around the next corner.

Past few days I haven't been getting my water in, but at least I haven't drank any pop.

I just sort of feel "worn out" right now. I've got a lot of things on my plate, but don't feel like doing any of them. Unfortunately this means that I'm digging myself into an even larger hole.

hey graindart... i definitely know the feeling... too much to do and too little energy! this might sound like a stupid suggestion but maybe try everyday to do something just for you to help give you the drive to get through, like a reward. maybe watching the sunset, reading a book, walking a dog or having a glass of wine at the end of the day, it's something to look forward to and i know it sounds silly but can sometimes revitalise you as you know it is just for you. you can get throughthis tough period!

No pop yesterday and I got my 120 ounces of water in.

I've still been eating whatever I feel like, which yesterday included a Drumstick (ice cream) and extra buttered popcorn at the movies, besides the regular meals.

I've only given up pop for a couple of days and yet I feel like I'm deprived.

That feeling will go away...I haven't had any in months and no longer miss it.

Yesterday I made it through the day with no pop and took in about 110 oz of water. I meant to get the whole 120 oz in, but just forgot to finish the last water bottle before going to bed.

Eating wasn't good, but I'm just starting again and feel like I just need to take it one step at a time. Step one is kicking the pop and taking in 120 oz of water.

Well, I don't know what to say. I've said it all before, numerous times. I've tried restarting my diet about 20 times over the last year or two. I know I need to get to a more healthy weight, but it's so much easier to sit around and drink pop all day.

I don't feel like doing much lately. I tried to go wake boarding and tubing behind a boat this past weekend, but pooped out after a few runs. All in all, I'd rather just sit in front of this computer all day with a constant supply of Mt.Dew flowing through me.

I haven't been drinking much water at all, mostly just pop. I'm going to try to work up to 120 ounces of water per day and cut out the pop. Although I'm not really motivated, so we'll see how it goes.

borntocry on 06/20/2006:
Switch to diet pop. It tastes disgusting at first but once you get used to it you'll never go back. You can drink as much as you want for 0 calories!

maria777 on 06/20/2006:
That's a good start! Eliminating soft drinks! I did and I'm glad I'm free of them....leaves room for FOOD calories, too!
