Last night we went out to celebrate my oldest daughters 8th birthday and she got to choose the restaurant.  I had some Sturgeon baked fish, stuffed pasta, bread, and a salad.

Starting off the morning with a Slimfast shake, couple vitamins, and some water. 

Progress as of today: 9.8 lbs lost so far, only 80.4 lbs to go!

Slimfast for breakfast.

Frozen dinner for lunch.

Dinner was some fried chicken, potato salad, baked beans, fried mushrooms, and fried zucchini.

Kind of low on the water intake, but didn't drink anything else beside water.

I was stuck inside working on the computer pretty much all day.  Bought a new faster computer, so now I'm also having to reinstall everything and transfer boatloads of data.

Made a bit of a screwup later after dinner.  Sat down to watch some TV with my wife and together we finished off a bag of microwave popcorn.

Progress as of today: 8.2 lbs lost so far, only 82 lbs to go!

Starting off the day with a Slimfast, a couple multi-vitamins, and some water.

As I sit here and type it's a -22F degrees.  That's 54 degrees below freezing, real temperature, no windchill factored in.  The forecasted high for today is 0.  I really hope the cars start today.  

Had a frozen dinner for lunch.

We went out to Chilis for dinner.  I had some cheese fries, fajitas, and a bit of coleslaw.

The weather warmed up to almost zero, but it's now back into the lower negatives.  The forecast overnight low is supposed to be -25F here in Montana.  Thankfully the bitter cold is only supposed to last another couple days, hitting 40F above by Thursday.

Only water to drink today.

Progress as of today: 8.6 lbs lost so far, only 81.6 lbs to go!

Last night we went out for Pizza Hut.  Had some pizza, wings, and a breadstick.

Starting this morning off with a Slimfast shake, a couple vitamins, and some water.

Off to church in a bit, then it'll be time for lunch.

After church we went out with my parents and some friends to a burger joint.  I had a 1/3lb burger with mushrooms, swiss, and bacon.  I also had a side of baked beans.

My wife made dinner tonight: peach chicken breasts, bowtie pasta, and some baby peppers w/ranch dressing.

Water intake has been pretty slow.  I'm not having any problems wanting to drink other liquids, but I'm just not making a conscious effort to drink a lot of water.

Progress as of today: 6.8 lbs lost so far, only 83.4 lbs to go!

Made it through yesterday without caving in to the sweets cravings.  

It's "daddy takes care of us day" (Saturday).  We started with some blueberry pancakes with a little whipped cream on top, along with some Jimmy Dean sausage patties.  Now we're getting ready to play some Xbox Kinect together.

We played the Xbox Kinect for awhile.  I played for about 10 minutes, they played for about an hour or so.

It's snowing and cold outside, so we went to the mall just to get out of the house.  We walked around and ate lunch at a Greek gyro place.  I had a gyro with feta and some cheese fries.

Don't know what's for dinner yet. 

Progress as of today: 8.2 lbs lost so far, only 82 lbs to go!

Breakfast was a Slimfast shake.

Lunch was a Healthy Choice frozen dinner. 

Water intake has been a bit slow today.

Dinner I really wanted a huge hamburger so we cooked some on the grill.  Mine was probably 3/4 to 1 lb of meat.  I think 1/2 lb would've been plenty, but I took it as a challenge so ate it all.  Had some fries and potato salad with it also.  I'm stuffed.

I haven't been missing the candy, chips, etc much this week.........until today.  For some reason today I'm craving chocolate or pretty much any type of candy.  I haven't had any yet and don't plan on having any later, but they are calling.

Progress as of today: 6.8 lbs lost so far, only 83.4 lbs to go!

ugghhh that is the worst!! I get cravings pretty bad sometimes.. I find that drinking water or hot tea helps... Looks like you had a pretty good day!!!

I always keep SF fudgsicles on hand for when I'm having chocolate cravings - usually does the trick. Or maybe some SF pudding or hot chocolate? I find if I don't do something to address the cravings, I end up eating a bunch of other stuff hoping to make the cravings go away...

Got too busy during the day with work and stuff.  Didn't have time for lunch until about 3pm.  I decided that it was too close to dinner time, so I just skipped it.

Dinner was spicy chicken wings, a little salad, some puff pastry things, and a baked potato.

Only water for liquid intake today.

My son Billy started trying to lose weight when he was about your starting weight - 260. He's only 5ft 6in but solidly packed. But got him started was the high blood pressure and the uncomfortable symptoms he was getting: achey back, sore knees and ankles. That extra weight was too much for his body. We were talking about this today and how, now that he's down to 198, his joints and back aren't bothering him now. I'll tell ya, weight is a real killer!

You're off to a good start. Keep it up!

** Yesterday **

- Slimfast shake for breakfast
- teriyaki chicken noodle bowl for lunch
- chinese buffet AYCE for dinner - ate a lot, including 2 scoops of ice cream
- only water to drink

** Today **

- had Slimfast shake for breakfast
- lunch had a Healthy Choice frozen dinner
- dinner we went out and I ate a very large salad with lots of non-healthy toppings along with a large order of nachos  

I bought some multi-vitamins yesterday and am going to try to remember to start taking them.

I'm trying to take it one step at a time.  The first couple of weeks of January were just cutting out caffeine.  The next couple weeks were about replacing pop with water intake.  I'm only paying a little attention to the food at present.  It may not look like it, but my daily meals the past few days are 10 times better than they were at the start of January.  My average daily Mtn Dew intake was about 700 calories per day and there was rarely a day that would go by without me snacking on candy, chips, donuts, etc.  I'm taking in about 1500-2000 calories less per day now as compared to just a few weeks ago.  I may get a little more serious about the food starting after the Superbowl, but I don't want to cut my calories too much and end up in starvation mode.

Progress as of today: 7.4 lbs lost so far, only 82.8 lbs to go!

I am not sure that your head is in the right place at the moment. Yesterday was a good day, but you seem to be struggling to get a row of good days together. I was wondering if you need to rethink why you want to lose weight and how serious you are about putting in the work that is needed to acheive your goals. Maybe if you started counting your calories, that way you would really know how you were going. I am hoping that you can make healthy choices for all three meals each day. That would be great! Good luck!

Good job with your progress so far! Sometimes you do need to take it in steps, like your doing with cutting out soda. But that cuts so many calories and it's a great start! And once you feel confident that you don't need it, it'll be much easier to give up other unhealthy snacks. Since you mentioned Superbowl, I'm pretty nervous about overeating that day... especially since I'll still be upset over my beloved Jets :(

I won't lie. I've already decided that I'm going to splurge on Superbowl Sunday! One day of splurging on such event isn't going to kill my diet or pack on 5lbs. No need for you to feel guilty if you do. Just make sure you get back on track the next day. It's bad eating every day and not exercising that will do you in. Learning to eat right is the hardest part...in my opinion. And keeping on eating right is even harder...but YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

Lunch was a Healthy Choice frozen dinner - pesto chicken/pasta, broccoli/carrots, and some type of fruit cobbler dessert thing.

Dinner was chicken cordon bleu, angel hair pasta with garlic/butter sauce, edamame (baby green soybeans in the pod).

Only water for liquid intake today.
