(120 oz water)
Weight: 260.4

64 days to go.

I've now got a date to work towards. I'm very goal oriented, so this should help get me on track. We're going to go on a short vacation over labor day weekend to visit my grandma and see some other relatives. We've been meaning to get up there since we had our last child, who's now 13 months old. Unfortunately 3.5 plane tickets are pretty pricey out of my hometown, so we'll be driving the 13 hours each way instead. We'll probably leave on September 1st, so I've effectively got 2 months to work towards being somewhat lighter.

It's been 7 days since I had a pop and I'm not craving it now, which is amazing. Although I do think I've been compensating with eating more junk food this past week. The whole box of Drumsticks (ice cream) have mysteriously disappeared over the last 5-6 days.

Since I've now got a date to work towards, I'm going to try to watch what I eat tomorrow and see how it goes. The only bad thing is that I'll be on the road for about 10 hours tomorrow, which is when I normally go crazy on my eating.....part out of boredom and part out of just trying to stay awake. Oh well, drinking lots of water will help keep me awake too......nothing keeps you awake like having a full bladder and praying that the rest area is just around the next corner.

Progress as of today: 3.4 lbs lost so far, only 60.4 lbs to go!

No pop yesterday and 100 ounces of water. Shy of my 120 ounce goal, but better than the past several days.

Weight: 261.8

Past few days I haven't been getting my water in, but at least I haven't drank any pop.

I just sort of feel "worn out" right now. I've got a lot of things on my plate, but don't feel like doing any of them. Unfortunately this means that I'm digging myself into an even larger hole.

hey graindart... i definitely know the feeling... too much to do and too little energy! this might sound like a stupid suggestion but maybe try everyday to do something just for you to help give you the drive to get through, like a reward. maybe watching the sunset, reading a book, walking a dog or having a glass of wine at the end of the day, it's something to look forward to and i know it sounds silly but can sometimes revitalise you as you know it is just for you. you can get throughthis tough period!

Yesterday - no pop, but only about 50 ounces of water, feeling thirsty and dehydrated. Will post more later.

No pop yesterday and I got my 120 ounces of water in.

I've still been eating whatever I feel like, which yesterday included a Drumstick (ice cream) and extra buttered popcorn at the movies, besides the regular meals.

I've only given up pop for a couple of days and yet I feel like I'm deprived.

That feeling will go away...I haven't had any in months and no longer miss it.

(120 oz water)
Weight: 262.8

Yesterday I made it through the day with no pop and took in about 110 oz of water. I meant to get the whole 120 oz in, but just forgot to finish the last water bottle before going to bed.

Eating wasn't good, but I'm just starting again and feel like I just need to take it one step at a time. Step one is kicking the pop and taking in 120 oz of water.

Well, I don't know what to say. I've said it all before, numerous times. I've tried restarting my diet about 20 times over the last year or two. I know I need to get to a more healthy weight, but it's so much easier to sit around and drink pop all day.

I don't feel like doing much lately. I tried to go wake boarding and tubing behind a boat this past weekend, but pooped out after a few runs. All in all, I'd rather just sit in front of this computer all day with a constant supply of Mt.Dew flowing through me.

I haven't been drinking much water at all, mostly just pop. I'm going to try to work up to 120 ounces of water per day and cut out the pop. Although I'm not really motivated, so we'll see how it goes.

Switch to diet pop. It tastes disgusting at first but once you get used to it you'll never go back. You can drink as much as you want for 0 calories!

That's a good start! Eliminating soft drinks! I did and I'm glad I'm free of them....leaves room for FOOD calories, too!

(<1,500 calories & 128 oz water)
Weight: 263.8

Things have been going well in almost all aspects of my life, except my weight.

I'm as heavy as I've ever been and I'm starting to notice weight influenced issues now. I'm not as active as I was just a couple years ago and I'm starting to "feel" my weight when I lay down to sleep. I'm also noticing that the fat around my neck area seems to be causing problems with swallowing food, not enough to stop me from eating tons of stuff, but enough so that I'm noticing it now.

I've been mentioning that I need to lose this weight for quite some time now, but never seem to make it more than a couple of days whenever I try to get back on the wagon.

Here's the start of one more try. One gallon of water intake per day is my goal. I don't know exactly what I'm going to do about food as of right now, but I think I'll just try limiting total calorie intake for the day. In my mind 1,000 calories sounds doable, but I might up it to 1,500 calories per day depending on how it goes over the next few days.

* Update 8pm * The water has gone pretty well so far today, have about 20 oz left to go, will have done within the next hour or so. Calorie intake for the day was about 1,500. I think I'll just shoot for keeping it under 1,500 calories per day, that should be reasonable and still quite a bit less per day than I've been doing over the past year or so.
