Well, it's been over another month since my last post, and I've been off the diet for approximately 3 months now and have gained back around 15 pounds during that time. It was a food filled Thanksgiving, cruise, Christmas, and New Year's. I've drank so much pop and ate so much food that I haven't been feeling very good for the past couple of months. Even though I know I feel better when I cut out the pop and candy, I just haven't felt motivated to get back on the wagon.

I'm planning on starting my diet again tomorrow. I bought a case of bottled water and will hopefully remember to start drinking it when I wake up tomorrow.

Something different for this time. I haven't incorporated exercise into any of my dieting attempts over the past couple of years, but just went out and plunked down some money on a treadmill. I really don't enjoy walking all that much, but I feel like I need to try something. I don't like walking outside because I get bored so quickly. I don't want to join a gym, because it takes up too much time when you throw in the drive to / from, showering, etc. At least with a treadmill in the house, I shouldn't have half of the excuses. I don't need to take a shower before / get dressed (no, I'm not planning on doing it in the nude) / or be bored (placed in front of the television).

I haven't walked on a treadmill much. I realize that the amount of benefit can vary depending on number of miles walked, incline, speed, etc. However to help keep things simple, I'm thinking of just having a weekly mileage goal. I'm not sure how many miles per week sounds realistic, but 20 sounds like a good even number. In my head that is about 4 miles per day with 2 days off per week. Even just walking, I should be able to walk that 4 miles while watching an hour of television.

In my mind, 4 miles doesn't sound like that terrible long of a walk and I'm sure the first day will be alright. However, day 2 might seem a bit hard depending on how stiff I end up feeling after day 1. I'll just have to keep telling myself that after a few weeks / months, walking 4 miles per day should be a piece of cake.

Hey! It's okay, im almost in the same boat, i started last year at 255 lost down to 220 then gained 20 to 245, now at 240, but WE CAN do it, It's SO HARD getting back on that wagon, but once you get started it gets easier and better. Just make yourself excersise one day, then it will be a lil better the next and so on.. I really like your chart, it sets a good goal, i believe I will sneak this idea too! THANKS! take care!

That sounds like a wonderful goal! I goto the gym, bc I dont have the will power at home, I will just be like... maybe later, hehe, But the drive is about 20mins to and back, so there is 40mins, it does take a lot time.. Your goals are wonderful, 4miles a day is enough to burn a good bit of calories, but not too much to burn you out, let us know how it goes!! happy monday!

I did jump on the scale a couple of days ago and I'd gained somewhere around 8-10 lbs, so at least it's not as bad as it could have been.

No pop, no snacks, about 125 ounces of water. Low carb Slimfast for breakfast. I was on the road all day and busy, didn't get a chance to eat lunch and by the time I got back to town it was getting close to 7pm, so I just went without. I'm not really all that hungry, although I do have a big headache right now. It's probably a combination of too little food intake, being stuck in a car for for most of 12 hours, along with stress.

We're buying a new (new to us) house and the closing date is just 1 week away, but the bank keeps coming up with more things that they forgot to mention that they need from us. I'm an organized / goal oriented type and get very frustrated with people that don't seem to have things under control. Actually, I don't mind people that aren't organized, except when it has something to do with me. About a month ago, the bank gave me a couple pages typed with all of the required items. I took me 2 or 3 days of work and tracking things down, but I submitted every last thing they wanted. Over the past few weeks, there have been numerous times where I've heard the phrase "we just need 1 more thing and then we'll submit it to the underwriters". I think I've heard that phrase about 6 or 7 times now.

Well, Thanksgiving time is looming. I've got a very long day of work tomorrow, then some morning work on Wednesday, then fly off to join my wife and daughter at the in-laws for 4 days off.

I think that's 3 days in a row of being back on the diet. After about a week or so, most diets start to become a little easier. It's amazing how one or two little deviations from your course can throw you completely off.

My wife and daughter flew out early this week for my wife's parents. They get a couple weeks vacation. Unfortunately I have to keep the money coming in, so I don't get to fly out until the day before Thanksgiving. I just need to remind myself to not go crazy (eating wise) just because I'm on vacation. I've been thinking about limiting myself to 1 hour on Thanksgiving where anything goes.

No pop, no snacks, nothing after 7pm, 100 ounces of water down and I'm working on the final 25 ounces. Low carb Slim Fast for breakfast. Applebees for lunch. I ordered riblets dry (no sauce) and coleslaw instead of the french fries. I also had a bowl of chilli and 2 tortilla chips with some spinach / artichoke dip.

I'm fine with watching what I'm eating, but am now thinking about what I could've had. What I'd really rather of had: appetizer of boneless buffalo chicken tenders and spinach / artichoke dip; main course of ribs with bbq sauce, baked beans, coleslaw, and mashed potatoes; then for desert the apple chimi-cheesecake with ice cream; all washed down with a few cherry colas. Oh, the good ol' days.
