Ugh!  I've been so hungry!!  My body is wondering what's going on since it went from high calorie to low! Started snacking last night, nothing too bad - cereal bar, oatcake and low fat cheese.... went up to about 1700 calories.  

Mid-morning today I got really hungry and started munching.  Nothing bad in the house except baked crisps, but still too many total calories, especially since I can't work out yet.  I'll be over 1700 calories today.  

Well, I'll be back at the gym Monday and also doing my strength training at home, plus spin bike class on Thursday.  So I'll get back on track.  Healing well.

Give it a few days and your appetite will return to normal.I for one can say that after my trip home for the holidays, eating mainly carbs,I was super hungry for a week upon my arrival back..Thank for the pics they are AMAZING just like you <3

I knew some of my gain was fluid and the scale is 2 pounds lighter than yesterday. That's probably about it for fluid gain though, the rest is fat. But it will come off. I'd like to at least get to 135 before our trip to France on Feb 20th.  We are going for a week to visit friends....hubby's and friends idea.

Busy doing more laundry today, finishing unpacking, and sorting out the nearly 2,000 photos I took on our trip. I am uploading photos from our trip and will share the link here when I'm done. 

I expect to be able to go to the gym on Monday.  My knee is healing well but I don't want it to split open again by overdoing it. 

Menu:

  • B:  porridge/raisins/almonds/skimmed milk, tea w/milk
  • S:   Alpen cereal bar
  • L:  chicken breast sandwich on whole grain w/extra light mayo, raspberries
  • S:  2 clementines
  • D:  veggie curry & rice, salad
  • S:  yogurt, packet of baked crisps
  • Lots of teas and water

TOTAL:  1505

Progress as of today: 27.2 lbs lost so far, only 11.8 lbs to go!

Welcome back! I just read about your mugging experience - I hope you heal fast and I hope your mugger gets caught and punished. Wow, France should be a beautiful trip too. You're lucky cameras aren't still using film - you would be broke!!! I look forward to seeing more of your images. Was the hippo vacationing in Uganda too? hahaha - I love your sense of humor! Back home from Uganda!!  We had such a great time and loved visiting our friends, going on safaris, and eating traditional foods. 

But after 4 weeks away, I came back heavier.  Not as bad as this hippo below, although I feel like it.  I left here at 134 pounds since I'd gained some over the holidays because we had a houseguest which meant more eating out and beer. We arrived home yesterday and I stepped on the scale this morning. 141.6!!   Yes, some may be fluid, but I am most definitely bigger.  

I did my 45 min travel workout 3 times a week for the first two weeks and had worked out a 7th time. Then I was injured by a would-be mugger. I refused to let go of my handbag (I didn't carry a handbag except on this occasion when I was at a graduation party and was wearing a dress w/o pockets), so got knocked down and tumbled around resulting in a badly scraped knee and both hands.  So, no more workouts while there. Still have a very sore knee and a wee bit of soreness on my hands still. I'm afraid to do any cardio as bending my knee too much opens the sore and my hands are too sore for weights. I am healing well though. So I'm hoping to get to the gym by Monday. 

Menu:

RYC: Not as big as this HIPPO - LOL!!!!!!! Of course not. Would-be mugger!!!! What? So glad it wasn't any worse-bad enough you have injured body parts! Gee - you are brave. Hope you heal quickly!

Oh my goodness on the would be mugger-great job fending him off! Welcome back!!! I'll bet with some clean eating and lots of water, you will lose at least 1/2 the extra weight in a matter of days!!

Did my travel workout yesterday. But due to a bad tumble I took last night I won't be working out again until we get home. I'm sure I'll be fine by the end of the week but we'll be on safari and no time or place to work out. Banged up both knees and both hands but they will heal.

Food and beer?! No comment. But I am enjoying myself and have stopped stressing about it. WILL get on track when we get home.

Did my workout again. This time with a fan blowing on me as we bought one for our Ugandan daughter one yesterday. If I can workout again tomorrow I will be at goal for 3 times a week for two weeks. I am sure I can do the same the third week but not the 4th.

Food. Beer. :(

Did my travel workout today. So happy our room has a fan!

Really need to cut back on beer but hubby orders more and it is too easy to say me too. Hard to find healthy items on menus. Local food is high cal very high carb.

Missing my computer for posting although FB is easy and blogger not bad.

I am loving Uganda and visiting our friends. Posting to my blog phone is a huge pain

Eating lots of traditional food and loving it but not low cal. Lots of cold beer but I did manage to limit to one beer on one day.

Weather here in the west is very pleasant...low to high 70sF.

Today had eggs, french toast w/o syrup, watermelon, pineapple, half a sausage, fried potatoes.

Dinner (no lunch) matooke, rice, chicken, slaw, cooked cabbage, 3 half litre bottles of beer.

Progress as of today: 32.6 lbs lost so far, only 6.4 lbs to go!

Hi ladies! We are enjoying Uganda. Except for chips (fries) my eating hasn't been too bad. Lots of high carb traditional food. Cold beer has been my big downfall.
