(healthy eating and moderate exercise)
Weight: 172.5

Hey people :-)

Good news on the weightloss front this week. I managed to lose 2 lbs which is pretty good considering my working week was only three days long! I usually find it easier to stay on the straight and narrow when I am at work.

I have a couple of tough weeks coming up starting with tomorrow. I am going out for the day to Chester Zoo with our staff association. It should be fun, and will involve a lot of walking but I've no doubt I will be indulging in a treat or two. I'm hoping that i will stick to the odd treat and not develop into a big cheat!!! I am then on holiday from work on Monday and Friday next week, and on Saturday we are  attending my great-niece's 18th birthday party. On the Sunday it is hubby's birthday and also my daughter is returning to her university in Wales. My eldest son and I usually take her back with all her gear, and we've formed an unfortunate habit of calling for a takeaway lunch on the way there.  As if these temptations are not enough, the following weekend I am on holiday again on the Friday and on the Saturday it is my own birthday !!  I will have to try and be very selective about what I eat during these various celebrations and hope that I don't put any weight back on.  Wish me luck !!

For those of you who were interested  in the riots that happened in my home town a few weeks ago I'd just like to tell you that there has been a backlash of support from the people of Manchester  to show that we are proud of our city and united against anti-social behaviour. A lot of events were organised to get the ordinary people back into the city centre. On 26th of August there was an ILOVEMCR day when a lot of businesses supported the town and lots of people wore the ILOVEMCR tshirts to work that day. I thought I'd put up a photo of myself and one of my young work colleagues on the day :-)

Progress as of today: 54.5 lbs lost so far, only 22.5 lbs to go!

Congrats on your progress! Thanks for the welcome to DD. I'm actually an American but feel more British. Moved to Scotland 11 years ago to marry a Scot.

nomoreforme on 09/04/2011:
Glad to see people are supporting the cities where the worst of the riots happened - although when I first saw the t-shirts I thought they were for the band My Chemical Romance!!!

thinkpositive on 09/04/2011:
You are an inspiration! Wish I was closer to your weight but I'll get there... I'm sure you will handle all of your challenges after the hard work that you've done to lose the weight.

h82bfat on 09/04/2011:
Have yourself a great time!

missdetermined on 09/04/2011:
Enjoy your birthday weeks! Just take it one day at a time, keep your goals in mind, and indulge a little to avoid going overboard :) Good luck!

biscottibody59 on 09/04/2011:
Excellent work on the loss--you're so steady--keep up the good work!

Nice pic! I wish you well with the food challenges!

moogy on 09/04/2011:
Lots of wonderful stuff coming up in the next week or so. So happy to hear that the good people of Manchester stood up to be counted. You know the saying " All it takes for evil to grow is for good people to do nothing" Good for you greengirl!! :)

Looking Good Annie!!! Love the shirts :)

Look how awesome you are doing and looking!! Way to go GG! It is so good to see you again :)

(healthy eating and moderate exercise)
Weight: 174.5

I've updated my weight but I'm only down half a pound or so. Actually the scales kept flickering between 174 and 174.5 so I chose the higher reading to give me a bit of a start next week. I am slowly inching towards my next goal of under 170. I have had a hungry week this week when I have eaten quite a lot more than usual. I have walked part of my journey to and from work every day which I think has contributed to my increased appetite. I even ate cake at a staff summer event, but in the long run I don't think it will do me any harm, plus it was absolutely delicious :-).  We have a bank holiday weekend this weekend so I'm not in work until Tuesday. I will be strictly back on the healthy eating straight and narrow next week.

Good luck to you all in your endeavours :-)

Progress as of today: 52.5 lbs lost so far, only 24.5 lbs to go!

V on 08/27/2011:
You are doing so well!!!It is more than normal to be hungrier on days you ramp up the cardio..The past 3 weeks have been Advanced Intense Cardio Condition Phase and I find myself eating more..My tummy is growling as we speak..I am off to find some healthy fuel :) Have a good one!!

missdetermined on 08/27/2011:
You are very inspiring! I think having some of what you crave prevents you in the long run from going overboard, because those craving don't build until they are out of control. The more you refrain from temptations though, I've found, the less you crave them. Great work!

Maria7 on 08/27/2011:
Hope you enjoy your holiday weekend. Congrats on how well you are doing!

mcwoo40 on 08/28/2011:
Doing well Anne :-)Back in work tomorrow, told them to dust the treadmill down for me and they have put go faster stripes on it too.BH monday so it's bound to rain is'nt it.

Em17 on 08/28/2011:
Have a great week coming up =)!

moogy on 08/28/2011:
"Slowly but surely catchy monkey" - as my mother would say. Not sure if there was any chance of catching monkeys in Birmingham but anyway!! You did well for a hungry week and I love the plan for next week.

hollybelle on 08/28/2011:
Good loss, Anne! Keep chipping away - you are winning the battle.

biscottibody59 on 08/29/2011:
Thanks for noticing--yes I bumped my jogging up to the next phase. It's going well. Completely different than when I last tried to do this about 18 mos ago.

I missed your weight loss below--good job on it all--then and in this entry! I like the walking instead of riding as long as the weather holds out--good idea! It's got to be nice to have that as an option. Contrast it with where I live--if you don't have a car, you're pretty much dead in the water (as we say). There's a "taxi" that is government regulated somehow, but you have to book it at least a day in advance--not sure if it would run on the weekend. I've never used it, but I looked into it for a neighbor a few years ago.

The larger cities are getting rail transportation linked to suburbs, but it's not the focus.

BTW, there are reputable websites where you could possibly find replacements for your china pieces. Pre-internet there used to be a huge mailorder warehouse here in the US that advertised in a few choice magazines, but I think they've all gravitated to the internet. I'm sure there's a similar outfit for the UK, and it may not be as expensive as you might think.

Umpqua on 08/29/2011:
I hope you're enjoying your nice long weekend. You are moving in the right direction with the scale, that's all that matters!

sweetpea1977 on 08/29/2011:
You're moving down, down, down and thats all that matters. Keep up the awesome work greenie!

h82bfat on 08/30/2011:
I have noticed that when I work out on a regular basis, I CRAVE carbs. When I'm paying attention enough to recognize that THAT is what is going on, a piece of bread curbs it. So I'm thinking it's best to give your body what it wants when it wants it, otherwise - for me anyway - I eat everything in sight until I do!!

(healthy eating and moderate exercise)
Weight: 175.0

Good day to all you fellow DDers out there. I'm just one pound down this week but I'll take that with pleasure :-)

I've had a bit of a shake up in my exercise regimen this week. Instead of having my hubby drag out the treadmill during the working week at the end of the day when (really!!) exercise is the very last thing I want to be doing, I decided that I would walk part of my journey to and from work. I started this on Wednesday when I walked the first busjourney from work . I normally catch a bus from work into the town centre and then a second bus from the town centre to my home (about 6  miles out). I missed out the first bus on Wednesday and walked about 1.2miles across town to my second bus :-). Took me about twenty minutes and I ended up catching the same bus home that I normally catch so I didn't get home any later than usual. On Thurday I deceided to get off the bus from home to town about 3 stops earlier than usual and trek across the east side of town to work, and then do the same thing going home. That meant I walked about two and a half miles in two twenty minutes stints and still got home at the same time as usual. i don't know whether I will do this monday to friday every week. I think it will probably depend upon the weather ie torrential rain = bus, anything else = walk :-) . What do you think?? Should I take a break from walking everyday or not?? I will be using the treadmill or walking the dogs as usual at weekend!

I've never really been one for listing what I eat but (for a laugh!) I thought today I would show you what I eat. A couple of weeks ago I took a photo of my lunch (don't ask me why, I haven't a clue!!) and today i saw it when I was uploading some stuff from my phone to my laptop. So here is a photo of my lunch!! The thing that looks a bit like meat is quorn chicken fillets (ie pretend meat LOL !)  Enjoy :-)

Progress as of today: 52 lbs lost so far, only 25 lbs to go!

moogy on 08/21/2011:
I would keep walking if you are not feeling tired. I had a friend who started to get off the bus several stops before our work stop and she lost 20 kilos, just from doing that. I say good for you greengirl:)

hollybelle on 08/21/2011:
You must have posted this because it's so pretty - lots of color=good for you! I like Moogy's friend's idea about getting off the bus early and walking the rest of the way! Neat! Have the riots settled down there?

sweetpea1977 on 08/22/2011:
I lost 45-50 lbs with walking 3 miles every day back in 2005. I only added weight training to lose the last 10-15lbs. I'd say go for it as long as your safe and the weather is nice!!

thinkpositive on 08/22/2011:
The walking sounds like a good plan. You are getting exercise & home at the same time as usual. Nice job on the weight loss!

biscottibody59 on 08/27/2011:
I haven't tried quorn--love the plate--I'm partial to blue patterns in place settings--so yours caught my eye:-)

Have a good weekend!

greengirl - Saturday Aug 13, 2011
(healthy eating and moderate exercise)
Weight: 176.0

It has been a strange and unsettling week for me.

I don't know how much it has been in the news in your countries but we have had a week of turmoil and riots here in England. I use the term riots loosely! In London there was rioting sparked by the killing of a known gang member by police. In other cities, including my own beloved Manchester, and in Liverpool which is close to where McWoo lives, there were copycat 'riots' used as an excuse for  feral, undisciplined youths to loot and burn the city centre on the lookout for the best shops to pillage.  Unfortunately for me I was , to a minor extent, caught up by the situation on Tuesday evening. One of my team at work telephoned in sick, and I promised my boss that I would help out by working an extra 4 hours on the end of my shift so we wouldn't be left with only one member of staff holding the fort until 7pm. By early evening we were getting reports of gangs of youths congregating in the city causing trouble and by the time I left work at 7 the buses had stopped running into the city centre because of the trouble. I have to go into the city centre to get the bus back out to the area where I live. I had to hike across the city, through one of the worst inner city local authority housing estates, by myself and then walk back out of the east of the city until I reached the point where the buses were still running. By this time riot police were defending the city centre from hundreds of misguided 'rioters'. The only company I had on my walk across town were gangs of kids in masks making their way in for a night of theft, arson and bloody mayhem ! At one point I passed a row of ambulances which were parked up just waiting for casualties. I think that was when the adrenaline really kicked in and I virtually ran the rest of the way. The sounds of rioting in my ears, I made my way back out of the city accompanied by a lovely black gentleman who was also on his way home from work, and who had walked a lot farther than I did. He could see I was in a panic and chatted to me all the way to the place where the buses were running again. I think I love that man !! When I eventually got home my heart was still thudding and knees still knocking until about 10pm. I assume that was the adrenaline ! Can you believe that once the trouble was contained, council workmen and volunteers worked through the night to clean up the city centre just to prove to the trouble causing morons that this was a battle they would never come out on top of. They made me proud to be a Mancunion. On the way into work on Wednesday I had to pass through the city centre and was upset by all the boarded up windows. It gave me a lump in my throat.

Anyway, enough of that !! I managed to lose a pound and a half this week !!  I have a ways to go yet but I have set my sights on the 160s and as soon as I go under 170 my BMI will be out of the obese range !! Yay I will be merely overweight. Can't wait. Hope you are all having a good week :-)

Progress as of today: 51 lbs lost so far, only 26 lbs to go!

biscottibody59 on 08/13/2011:
Yes, I've been following this on the BBC (radio). I always listen to it when I get my bath at night. I heard about the one woman who had someone just come into her house, I think she was in bed, but then they left pretty quickly. She apparently wasn't hurt, but it was just enough time for her safety to be violated and change everything.

I wondered if it had affected your or McWoo directly and I'm sorry to hear it has. I'm sorry for your ordeal, but I'm glad you're safe! Funny how strangers can come together during a rough time.

It sounds like something that isn't going to be resolved quickly from what I've heard. I guess the gang activity was previously only among themselves and has now spilled over to everyone and everything else.

Glad to hear your progress--excellent--you're really doing a great job! I hope there's a "safe zone" where you have to travel--take care out there!

ps never heard "Mancunion." If you get a chance could you explain. I'm assuming it's a resident of Manchester?

thinkpositive on 08/13/2011:
So sorry to hear that you got caught up in the rioting and chaos. Just terrible and yes we have been following this news and commenting on what is going on in London and in other parts of the world with the use of twitter and other social networks to organize people to commit violent acts. I'm glad that you are ok but certainly a traumatic event for you. Good for you with your weight loss. I wish that I had the same postive results to report, but not quite yet. Our thinking is te same though- to get into the "overweight" range.

Maria7 on 08/13/2011:
Glad you were safe, Greengirl! Glad you had a gentleman to accompany you to the safety of the buses! Thank the Lord for protecting y'all! Btw, congrats on being down to 176 since you got into the 170's on July 23rd! :-D Onward to the 160's!!!

hollybelle on 08/13/2011:
I logged on to FB for about 2 minutes (It doesn't let me stay on for some reason these days) to check your and Julie's FB pages to see if there had been any more incidents. So distrubing. I am glad you guys are safe. You are in Manchester and Julie is in Southport - is that correct? You are doing quite well on your weight loss, Anne. I am stuck around 162-163 - but I'll take it. I just need to stay focused as I can. Hang in there - take care and God bless.

biscottibody59 on 08/13/2011:
Thanks for the reply--I'm very much a word person--and any new insight is always appreciated.

I hope the days and weeks ahead continue to be quiet where you live, play and work!

Umpqua on 08/14/2011:
What a scary experience, I'm glad you are OK! I can't believe what is happening over there, the mob mentality really is a very frightening thing. Take care and continue with your excellent work to break into the 160s!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 08/14/2011:
wow! sorry to hear that it's been a crazy week for you. it sounds that way. mobs can obviously be very frightening, like umpqua said above. there are just too many youngsters to deal with for one single person like yourself. i wish you a better week to come tomorrow!

(healthy eating and moderate exercise)
Weight: 177.5

What a stinker of a day I have had apart from losing a pound when I weighed in this morning !!  I haven't been sleeping well this week because it has been warm and wet, so high humidity during the night making it quite uncomfortable. Hubby said he would get up to look after the dogs so I could have a lie in for a change. Unfortunately only a few minutes after hubby got up a thunderstorm started which kept me awake so that was the end of my lie in !!  i went downstairs thinking I would breakfast, put some laundry in the washer and then get on the treadmill. Next thing the water goes off whilst the washer was filling up !! i telephoned the water utility company and all they could tell me was that there was a major burst in a local water main and the water might be off for some hours.  That was five hours ago and we're still waiting. Four adults in a house where we can't shower or use the toilets !! i didn't get on the treadmill but i've walked the mile to my sisters to use her loo !  I was furious about it. There are families with young babies round here who are in thee same boat. I telephoned again and they said it could be off for up to twelve hours !! very annoying. You dont realise how much you use water for the little things like brushing your teeth. I hope you are all having a better weekend than I am !

Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

Hi! Congrats on the pound! I never have been so thirsty as when our water had to be shut off for two days! No warning either, so no jugs in the fridge!!

moogy on 08/12/2011:
Good job on your pound down greengirl!! Good work. I always keep several bottles of tap water on hand for such emergencies, although I can't remember every losing the water. As usual being prepared prevents the emergency I find. I am sorry that you are finding the weather so oppressive, my daughter often asks me "How hot was it in England?" and I always tell her that I can only remember being hot a few times in my twelve years there. As a child I am not sure you notice these things. It will soon be gone greengirl! We have two more weeks of Winter and then it will start warming up with out mercy, I bet we will be in the eighties by September and then nineties before we start preparing for Christmas and then it gets hot!!!! LOL until late March!!! I hope you have a good weekend with water and reasonable enjoyable weather:)

Weight: 178.5

I am posting a day later than usual as I worked yesterday in place of a colleague who had gone off sick on Friday.  I have only lost half a pound this week but I am staying optimistic as even I can see that I am developing muscle in my legs (thank you treadmill!) so I look slimmer in the legs despite no great weight loss. Also the 'apron' of fat I have round my tummy is getting smaller too !!  I have been feeling full of beans this week, to the extent that I've been feeling restless and eager for something to do  when i should be putting my feet up in the evening !!

Hope you are all doing well and have a good week this week :-)

Progress as of today: 48.5 lbs lost so far, only 28.5 lbs to go!

hollybelle on 07/31/2011:
1/2 lb is STILL GOOD, Anne. I think you are correct in your positive thinking. I know what you mean about the "apron" around the middle. I was thinking mine wouldn't go away but it is getting smaller. I can just about imagine that it will be mostly flat soon. I have been doing some "killer" ab work - just 20 days a week, but still. That ab work plus the core work I do in the Turbo Jam and Kick classes seem to be working! Keep at it is the moral to this story - you are winning!

moogy on 07/31/2011:
I was looking for you yesterday because it was Sunday here and no post. Glad you are doing well and you are right to look for other indicators for the hard work you are putting in. I have a apron to, nice!!! Great to have all that energy, not good if you want to watch a program though:) Have a good week greengirl:)

biscottibody59 on 08/01/2011:
Congrats on the half-pound! Good to be able to see the changes along the way:-) Have a good week yourself.

ps The jogging is very humbling. Good news is my heart is barely getting a workout--I'm hoping that will change as my skeleton catches up.

It's all adding up Anne, well done.Drizzle all week here, get it out the way for two weeks time off for two weeks then, never got to go away last week off because of Alfie, had his check up this morning very pleased with him, just finished his tabs then, he has his booster next mon, should be fun :/

sweetpea1977 on 08/01/2011:
Great job on the loss greenie! Sounds like you're firming up muscle and losing lots of fat. Excellent!!

Umpqua on 08/01/2011:
Awesome that you're noticing a change in your body with building muscle and losing inches. That's what really matters in the long run!

moogy on 08/01/2011:
I am sorry that you have not really had a summer. Such a shame when they are so short and so yearned for. We are going for 77 degrees tomorrow, that's a bit cheeky. I don't mind low seventies, perfect. I shall have to put down my outside blinds. I hope this is not a harbinger of things to come!!!!!:)

hollybelle on 08/01/2011:
I have to use Mapmyrun when I walk in the neighborhoods, or take the car around the path!! LOL! Thanks for the encouragement!

V on 08/01/2011:
Awesomeness!! Muscle is very good!!

biscottibody59 on 08/05/2011:
If we didn't have air-conditioning everywhere--everything would stop for many hours of the day. But this heat is extraordinary--we had a summer like this in 1980--actually worse, but I think we also some rain during that time. I think our last rainfall was at least 2 mos ago.

In contrast we can have fairly mild summers where we have maybe one or two days of 100*F days.

greengirl - Saturday Jul 23, 2011
(healthy eating and moderate exercise)
Weight: 179.0

Yay I'm back in the 170s after longer than I care to remember. I've had a good week exercise wise too, especially today. I did 50 minutes brisk walking on the treadmill this morning. I managed three miles in just under 48 minutes then took another couple of minutes to slow the pace down.   I'm trying to work on my arms to tone them up a bit but at my age  (nearly 57) I think that, barring surgery, I'm pretty much stuck with the bingo wings !! I have had another sort out in my wardrobe and put some things in a bag for a charity collection and put more stuff in the wardrobe from a box I had under the stairs :-)

This week I seem to have hit a point where people at work feel they need to mention that I'm losing weight. It always makes me laugh when someone says 'You're losing weight!'  almost as if they think I havent noticed that for myself.  It's more annoying when people say 'The weight's just dropped off you!' I always want to reply 'Oh no it hasn't ! I've been fighting every darn pound!!' , I shouldn't complain really because I know that my colleagues are only trying to be nice.

I'm off now to help hubby order a new garden shed so I'll love you and leave you. Have a great weekend folks xxx

Progress as of today: 48 lbs lost so far, only 29 lbs to go!

biscottibody59 on 07/23/2011:
Woo-hoo--congrats on your continued progress! The exercise is essential and you've got a great routine going!

ps I've lived here my whole life and we have these horribly hot summers from time to time--the no rain is getting a little old.

moogy on 07/23/2011:
Good job greengirl. Yep! the bingo wings are permanent reminders of past indiscretions. I always say after 50 three quarter length tops are an absolute necessity no matter what the arms look like!! Have a good weekend:)

hollybelle on 07/24/2011:
Great progress, GG! We know how hard you have worked, even if co-workers haven't got a clue! In fairness to them - I find it hard to know what to say in person when someone has lost weight. Unless they bring it up I don't know whether or not to say anything.....same for myself - I don't know if I want anyone to say anything so I can pretend I was always smaller! LOL! I just want to KEEP it off - it's just too darn difficult to go up and down. Getting older is incentive enough, I think. I'll be 57, too, in October this year. I feel younger than I did a year ago, though. Regarding the arms - bingo wings - Ha Ha!!! Weights should help you shape them, though. Keep at it. Even us older chicks can have good looking arms!

Umpqua on 07/24/2011:
Look at you go, congrats! Nice picture below and cute doggie :)

moogy on 07/24/2011:
I love it that we have the same lowering holding onto the towel rail ritual..funny!!

sweetpea1977 on 07/25/2011:
yay congratulations!!!

BTW, I dont know how I missed your previous entry. You and your doggie look great! :)

biscottibody59 on 07/25/2011:
Thank You! I'm glad you're here and supporting me too!

thinkpositive on 07/25/2011:
We're at the same weight. It does feel good and I'll feel better when I get a couple of pounds lighter to give myself a bit of a cushion. I know what you mean about comments- I always wonder what people were thinking before I lost weight! I'm older than you and it does get harder to lose as we age.

(healthy eating and moderate exercise)
Weight: 180.5

Hey everybody, I've called by for my weekly update and I'm now close enough to the 170s that I can nearly taste them !! I'll be trying my very hardest this coming week to lose at least one pound so I can say I'm in the 170s !!  I have been off work this week again on annual leave and I had quite a bit of luck weatherwise. It didn't really rain much until Thursday and Friday :-) I've tried a few new exercises using a DVD from SparkPeople (the 10 minute workouts) and I've been using the treadmill but I always feel like I'm slacking when I'm off work !! My daughter and I went to see the new Harry Potter film yesterday. We really enjoyed it. I'm going to put up a photo of me and one of my dogs so you really know what I've been doing while I've been on hols :-)

Progress as of today: 46.5 lbs lost so far, only 30.5 lbs to go!

biscottibody59 on 07/16/2011:
What a lovely and relaxing pose! Your progress is so consistent--good way to be!

mysterywoman100 on 07/16/2011:
love the picture and your dog is cute too

hollybelle on 07/16/2011:
Great news, Anne! You keep up the good work and you'll be in 160's even, soon! I am confident I'll read a report that you are in the 170's by this time next week. You know I love this picture! Such a sweetie baby! Looks like a real lover doggie. You know we went to the outdoor play last night and we took the dogs with us. They are typially very well behaved in public. But one funny thing about last night - when it was dark the guy in front of us - everyone takes their own chairs, etc. got up and left for a few minutes and when he came back it must have made our one dog (Elle) nervous because she growled real low at him. Kind of embarassing, but thank goodness that's all she did and he laughed at her. She can be very protective of us and very territorial! Have a wonderful week.

mcwoo40 on 07/17/2011:
This is what you've been getting up to then, crappy weather today here was planning a looong walk whilst they where in the pictures but did'nt work out that way, would of got blown off the coast road :/Yes 170's here you come, hopefully in the 240's by the next weigh-in.Hate going back to work after a holiday, have a good week Anne :)

Weight: 182.0

Weightloss is weird. Last week I was convinced I had done really well and only lost a pound. This week I thought I had been a little mediocre but have managed to lose 2 pounds !! It doesnt make sense.  Hopefully this coming week I will get more exercise in as I am on leave for a week. If the weather is good I'm hoping to get out in the garden a lot too.  I am now aiming to get into the 170s asap, hopefully within the next week or two. Today I spent 45 minutes walking briskly on the treadmill. I also walked across to my sister's house and back (she lives about half a mile away) and walked to the local shopping centre twice, once with hubby and once with my daughter. I must have walked well over five miles in total today.

I'll leave you with a photograph I took last week in my little side garden where, weather permitting, I will be spending a lot of time this week :-)

Progress as of today: 45 lbs lost so far, only 32 lbs to go!

sweetpea1977 on 07/09/2011:
Such a pretty garden! I cant wait to spend time to play around with my 4 front gardens as well as figure out what to do with the backyard. I hate pretty much everything the previous owner did, so I have lots of work cut out for me! :)

Congrats on the weightloss! Im guessing your body had a lag effect in losing the weight. The body is in a constant battle trying to maintain homeostasis, but your consistent efforts won. Keep it up greenie!

mcwoo40 on 07/10/2011:
Hiya Anne, know how you feel on the weightloss and how it works.Last time i was off i had all good intentions of going the gym,i went twice and that week i lost 5lbs!!The week after i exercised loads with a two and a half hour walk thrown in and lost 2lbs what's that all about.Anyway it's all good news, and well done :)Daughter's b/day today so going to be a few goodies around :/testing times.Supposed to be going the fair, looks a little gloomy. Here's to a good weighloss this week, done less in the gym this week so we will see what i've lost, hopefully 5lbs!!,but not being greedy

V on 07/10/2011:
Good job on the loss :) That is awesome!! I really love your yard! I could spend my entire day out there :) You are a wonderful gardener

moogy on 07/10/2011:
Maybe last week finally caught up with you. I love your little garden, it looks perfect to me. I could spend lots of time pottering around doing things there!

Maria7 on 07/11/2011:
Congrats on your progress! You are almost in the 170's! Yayyyy! Your patio looks real nice with the side garden. I've looked at it over and over lately since you posted it and it is really quite pretty! :-D Thanks for sharing the photo with us!

biscottibody59 on 07/11/2011:
Nice to see your continuing progress--enjoy your week!

I need to catch a wave of progress myself!

V on 07/11/2011:
Alright girl!! 170 here she comes!!

V on 07/11/2011:
Oh hey, I have been meaning to tell you about something that a few of us have done as far as "gently used" clothing that are too big to wear...Well alot of clothes I purchased before and during my loss, I had major issues with parting with them for emotional reasons with a few items.. But i started to think that although I could either resell or donate them, why not pass along my favorite items to one of my fellow dd ers... :) It would certainly help on the strain of others who find themselves wardrobeless in between sizes...I have passed along quite a few designer duds(some with the tags on)and it makes me happy to know that I have saved them a bit of cash during their journey :)

thinkpositive on 07/11/2011:
Your garden area is very peaceful. Good luck getting to the 170's - I'm there but just hanging on by a thread!

biscottibody59 on 07/12/2011:
I just wanted to say your garden is nice and inviting!

I appreciate your concern--I think I was extremely lucky to get the anti-viral as soon as I did. I've read a fair bit about other people's experiences and I'm not having the pain as such--I did have a fair amount a couple weeks ago including the tender lymph nodes (that's gone now). The itching's a different story--and the rash is gone except for some redness and slight swelling in spots. But it's rather weird.

Have a good evening!

Maria7 on 07/12/2011:
Thought I'd stop by and say hello! :-D

Maria7 on 07/13/2011:
Hi there! Hope you're having a nice day over there in beautiful England! Yes, the cat did turn up and I am hoping he will 'reset' and go back next door to his owners and they take care of him. He is a lovely cat but he is not ours and we shouldn't feel like we have to take care of him because he hangs around over here and looks poorly at times. I'm hoping he will go back home. :-)

Weight: 184.0

I have had a busy week and was hoping for a decent weightloss but when I weighed this morning I had lost just one pound. I am hoping I am retaining water because of the heat at the moment!!  The weather here is beautiful just now. Mid-week me and hubby put up our gazebo in the garden so we can sit out there rain or shine. I was out there today under the shade (too hot for me in the sun) after I went on the treadmill. I did 45 minutes walking on the treadmill this morning, walking briskly. I did two miles (3.22kms)  in 33mins 10 seconds then carried on to 4 kms before I slowed down. i enjoyed it very much. I will add a picture of myself in the garden taken on my laptops webcam. Please excuse it if it looks a little blurry. You know how crappy webcams can be.

Have a lovely weekend, especially all you lovely ladies in the US celebrating the 4th JUly :-)

Progress as of today: 43 lbs lost so far, only 34 lbs to go!

mysterywoman100 on 07/02/2011:
thank you and what a nice picture very pretty

hollybelle on 07/02/2011:
I don't think it's blurry although a bit dark-ish. Nice pic, though, Anne. One pound loss is great! Your treadmill "trip" is terrific. 2 miles in 33 minutes IS brisk indeed. Then to go on more.....well, good effort!!!

thinkpositive on 07/03/2011:
Nice photo. You look relaxed and summery. Yes we are close in weight but I'm on the slow road to weight loss. One pound a week is good for me & I'm okay with that. You are probably doing more exercise. Keep up the good work! Love the gazebo idea.

mcwoo40 on 07/04/2011:
Look at you toppin up your tan and i'm like an english rose(well my legs are :/)caught the sun on my face and arms just by walking alfie.Well done on the weightloss, least it's a loss and not a gain. Here's to another good week, not weather wise though!!

V on 07/04/2011:
Lookin good Anne!! :)

Umpqua on 07/05/2011:
Great picture and I bet your gardens are gorgeous. The gazebo sounds wonderful!

sweetpea1977 on 07/05/2011:

If you dont want that pound loss, I'll take it! :-)

Have a super week!!

legcramps on 07/05/2011:
Great pic!

biscottibody59 on 07/05/2011:
Your picture looks good! And good going on the continuing loss--steady is good:-)

Thanks for your thoughtful comments--slow is the word for full recovery apparently--so I'm trying to stay patient!

mcwoo40 on 07/08/2011:
