Hi everyone. As you can see I have updated my weight as it is my weekly weigh-in day. I have lost one and a half pounds this week and I have another week left of the month to get under the 190 mark. I am going to be sooo good to myself this week!!!!

Here are my challenge points for yesterday and today. It is only just past 8pm here but I'm not planning to eat any more. In fact I'm hoping to be in bed for 10pm. I really need an early night.

Sunday 6 points, 2 each for exercise, water and veggies. I only just missed one point on the calories!!!!

Monday calories 1 point, water 2 points, veggies 2 points, exercise 0 points (tut tut!!) 5 points in all.

I will check out diaries and comment tomorrow night when I am a bit wider awake. Keep the good work up!!! :)

Progress as of today: 36 lbs lost so far, only 41 lbs to go!

Hi all, heres my update for Saturday. I love the weekend. I am relaxed and have plenty of time , and energy ,to do the exercise I would like to do. During the week when I am at work I am often just too tired to get on the treadmill, even for a few minutes. Anyway, today I did 60mins on the treadmill and I loved it. After about 30 minutes I get quite euphoric. I think that must be the endorphins kicking in. i feel as if I could carry on for ever. I walk at a brisk pace, managing just over three miles an hour. I usually get through a couple of bottles of water while i'm doing it too!! Any way here are my challenge points for today!!!

calories 1 point

exercise 2 points

fruit and veg 2 points

water 2 points.

A very good day for me. i am thinking of lowering the number of calories that I eat each day. When I first started to cut back last August I started out eating about 1800 cals a day give or take a 100 or so. I lost a fair bit of weight at that amount but after I joined sparkpeople I reduced my calories to 1550 or less and I've stuck at that since then. After this January challenge is over I think I will reduce to 1400 and do like workingit and have one day a week when I have a treat meal. Perhaps Friday would be good then I would have the weekend to work it off!!! I'm off now to check my e-mail before i go to bed. have a good weekend ladies and keep the faith :)

I know what you mean with the euphoric feeling. Some days when I'm really tired its tough to get through the first 20 or 30 minutes and after that it feels like you can go forever. I always feel happy and more relaxed after exercise. Its a great way to relieve stress! Good for you, your almost halfway to your goal, keep it up!

It's good you didn't cut down calories too far in august...that has probably helped you to continue a good weight loss now! I find that one the weekend it is definitely easier to get a good workout in!

Hi everyone. Heres my update

5 points in all. Not a bad day by any means but not a brilliant one either. i have been having a few teething problems with the site recently and I noticed that a few other people had too. I was wondering if anyone else knows why the text on my earlier posts has changed to red??? I have no idea when and how it happened!!!

On a totally different subject I have been having a few 'ladies problems' healthwise recently and was looking for any advice or tips with coping with them. Well not really problems, its all natural but irritating and quite embarrassing at times. I am 52 and recently started having the dreaded hot flushes (I believe you call them hot flashes in the US). This last week they have been happening on a regular basis, when I'm at home and at work. They seem to come over me in a wave and I flush right down my face and neck, and its so obvious that people I am with comment on it. I would prefer to get through this stage of my life without HRT if possible and was wondering if any of you ladies have any other advice. I know a few of us here are 'of a certain age' and I'm sure you must know some remedies!!!

I'm sorry I've not found time to comment much recently but I will now its the weekend and I'll have more time. Yesterday i had one of the scariest days of my life. There have been huge storms and gales over here in the UK. 11 people died yesterday in storm related incidents and I can understand why. my journey home from work (about 6 miles) was awful. There was debris, ranging from roof tiles to huge trees, all over everywhere and flying past the bus I was on and when i had to walk i had to hold on to lamp posts for support!!! We dont usually suffer extreme weather conditions over here and we dont have the means to cope with them!!!

Better go now, its 11.46 pm so i'm ready for bed. Will catch up with you all tomorrow. As usual, thanks for all the comments and support. You are all wonderful :)

I know, I tried running in that storm! It wasn't so bad over here, but still, when I found out how bad it was elsewhere I wasn't quite so ashamed about giving up.

I have had a brilliant week this week and it is reflected in my weight loss . I am down another two and a half pounds. I'm absolutely over the moon with that!!! i really think that if I can keep up the effort I will meet my aim of being under 190 by the end of the month. I know i cant sustain loss like this for a long period and I have been lucky so far in that, apart from the major blip that Christmas turned out to be, I have continued to lose weight without sticking on a plateau (YET)!!!!!! Having said that, I've had a bit of a day off today as you will see:)

Exercise only 2 x 25 crunches. didnt take me 10 mins so 0 points

Calories 1557 1 point

Water 7 glasses 2 points

Fruit and veg 4 portions so 2 points

5 points today, not bad but not good. Gotta take a break sometimes tho'. Hope you all have a great day tomorrow . Thanks for your continued support and comments.They mean a lot to me :)

Hey greeny! You've been doing so well this month that it is perfectly alright to give your body a rest when it needs it. Yesterday I didn't go to yoga and when I went today I was able to do much better than I had been doing, after a rest.

I have had a brilliant weekend. Today I got another 8 challenge points. Its 8.30pm here and I am not planning to eat anything else before bedtime.

exercise 40minutes treadmill, 10 minutes elliptical x trainer, 2x25 crunches 2 points

Its my weekly weigh-in tomorrow so I will be looking for some weight loss after all the effort I put in this week. I'm really enjoying the exercise but tomorrow I will just do 10 minutes in the morning on my step. Monday is always a bad day at work and I wont go on the treadmill when Im tired. Will update tomorrow :)

Im leaving my post early tonight as i seem to be struggling with the lovely new format on the site.

I have had a wonderful day today and I feel really good. I started the day a bit later than usual as I am having a day off work and I had a leisurely cooked breakfast rather than cereal. After I saw my daughter off to the school bus I did 2 sets of 25 crunches, before my shower. After doing the grocery shopping with my hubby, i went on the treadmill for 60 minutes. I did 3 mile in 52 minutes and used the other 8 minutes to get up to speed at the start, and slow down at the end.

I managed to make a hairdressing appointment for 5pm for both my daughter and myself. So I had the luxury of letting someone else wash my hair. My husband has treated me to a nice red top one size too small, to give me extra incentive to lose more weight. I reckon about another eight pound down will do the trick!!! Oh and also, my hairdresser was very impressed with my weightloss so far, which made me feel great!!

Only 6 challenge points today. Full points for calories, water and fruit and veg. Did well with everything except the exercise. I was too tired after work today. However, I have booked a holiday from work for tomorrow so I will be having a three day weekend. this means I can exercise in the mornings, which i prefer, and my time is not limited.
